great for a take-away; a good choice of items and quick service; nothing to complain about; Atmosphere - no comment, it is a take-away.

We had just finished having some drinks in the local pub literally a 2 min walk away We arrive outside the magic wok at 21:55, checked online and it says on the door they shut at 22:30, to find it’s closed? Such a shame as we really like this Chinese and would have spent a good amount of money to have it!

We get a takeaway about once a month from here, and it's always tasty with good portions. Big choice of menu, friendly counter staff. Have never used delivery service so can't comment on that

Very bad customer service on phone the guy shouldn't be there. plus cash only, which tells you something. Never mind you lost a order for six people.

We decided to have our Anniversary meal at home this year - they no longer do shredded chilli chicken Bt don’t tell you!! The sauce was like water out of the tap and absolutely tasteless - the lemon chicken sauce the same and chicken was so tough I’m sure it must have been cooked a few days ago. The chicken and mushroom was dark grey - yuk yuk. We have been using the Magic Wok for years - bring back Albert Cheng. We won’t be using it again

Unfortunately, the food wasn't particularly tasty. Unfortunately, the sweet and sour with mixed vegetables (sweet and sour mixed vegetables) didn't contain many fresh vegetables. Lots of onions, the odd mushroom quarter, bamboo and some green peppers. Additionally, the food wasn't hot, which it should have been if it had been freshly fried in a wok. It tasted like a microwaved meal. The red Thai curry with chicken (Thai red hot chicken curry) wasn't particularly hot, but at least it was spicy. Unfortunately, rice was only included once instead of twice for both dishes, so we had to use our own rolls at home, which fortunately we still had with us. All in all: This take-away is NOT recommended!!

Delivery time for the food was a reasonable 40 minutes and had arrived at the given time. The cost for delivery was a surprisingly low £2 for my area. The food overall is nothing special in my opinion. Wontons nicely packed and crispy, the Shredded Chilli Chicken had a reasonable balance of sweetness and spice. The Sweet and Sour Chicken Balls though look rather strange and battered sausage shaped and the Egg Fried Rice didn’t seem to have enough taste to it. An overall decent average Chinese takeaway in the Smithton area.

Why is the soup so sweet? Its like syrup/sugar added. It's not good

The Magic Wok Takeaway is the best in Inverness! After moving from Glasgow I struggled to find a takeaway that meets my tastebuds - but the Magic Wok does just that! Their food is tasty, affordable and consistent- and I wouldn't go anywhere else! They have a big menu too and the people within the takeaway are friendly, welcoming and always hardworking too! (Even on the busiest nights). 10/10 always!

Ordered a delivery took over a hour to arrive which is fine. Order was wrong phoned and was told I had to wait 40 minutes for the missing part! To top it all off everything was cold and the rice that came on the second delivery wasn’t even cooked! No answer now from restaurant

Sweet and sour chicken beautiful and plenty off it.

OK so, we ordered two very basic, run of the mill dishes that should be easy to perfect. Ordered two portions of chicken balls, one with chips and one with rice. One tub of gravy and one sweet and sour. Chips were like coffin nails. The chicken balls were OK, and you do get a decent portion. Sweet and sour sauce was bland. Gravy wasnt your traditional Chinese takeaway gravy, was OK though. The prawn crackers were the final straw. It's a staple. How you can get them so wrong is beyond me. Won't be back regardless of the fact its the closest to me, would rather drive to the far side of town for quality.

I usually order the dry ribs which are absolutely perfect! The chicken fried rise always has loads of chicken in it! The pancake rolls are delicious! The sweet and sour chicken balls are big and filling! The chips and rice with sweet and sour sauce has lots of sauce! Great food at great prices!

Absolutely disgraceful! This should be called The Tragic Wok. I've had more substantial cup a soups than the hot and sour soup and the chillie ribs, what a joke! One inch long knuckles with hardly any meat on them, plenty of fat though. Flavourless too. The beef with green peppers was almost passable with a tiny amount of beef and the chicken chow mein had hardly any chicken in it. I messaged them but haven't received a reply. Myself and my family were very disappointed. 0/5 stars.

Been going for years and it's usually been good but I have literally got the worst food poisoning from my last order. Will never go there or probably any other Chinese take away again now.

Great service. Have used them for years and they do the best Yung Chow fried rice. Their lemon chicken is great too. Everything is always piping hot and delivered at the time stated. Very very pleasant chap on the phone too he's always polite and nothing is ever a bother for him. Never had a bad meal or experience here yet.

5* Excellent food. Ordered a delivery whilst staying at the Travel Lodge. Delivered when they said it would be, generous portions, piping hot and food was delicious thank you...Will definitely order next time we are here.

Food was cold and very stodgy. I ordered special fried rice, rice was overcooked and there wasn't much apart from chicken in the rice. My daughter had shredded chilli chicken. The sauce was basically honey, no veg, onion or chillies in it. Really disappointed as I've heard really good things about the magic wok. Won't be ordering again. Should've stuck with my usual Chinese, lucky house in nairn. Never disappoints.

This restaurant saved me from starvation. My hotel refused to serve me food because of my food allergies so I had to look for food elsewhere. The gentleman taking orders was kind enough to investigate all my questions with regards to the type of oil they used to cook with. He hesitated to take my order due to a language barrier and concern for confusion and explained it to me. Fortunately, one of the chefs spoke Mandarin (which I speak as well) and I was able to communicate with him about my needs and food allergies. He understood and said he would be willing to make it for me in a way (with olive oil) that I could consume and to not worry. It was the best shrimp fried rice I ever had. Thank you so much. Truly.

Curry sauce good with chips but I got chilli chicken and it was disgusting and watery!! Stay clear very inconsistent

If somewhere was to bankrupt us it would be here. Not because of the prices, as they're very reasonable but because of how much we go there. The salt n spicy chips are absolutely the best chips I have ever tasted. I regularly grab a box, eat on the way home and then enjoy the main meal. The Kung po is also the best we've ever had. Rich and subtly sweet.

We were on holiday in the area and struggled to find a good takeaway. Eventually decided on the Magic Wok takeaway and travelled a little further to get to it. Couldn’t be more pleased we did. It was one of the best Chinese takeaways we’ve had in years. The food was all flavoursome, unlike lots of takeaways near us which just taste of noodles. It was also hot and it was a pleasant surprise to see really fresh ingredients used in all the dishes. Only wish there was one this good where we live in England.

Usually good food from Magic Wok. Home delivery was good. But almost inedible - far, far too salty. Did ring them and let them know so hopefully it will improve.I think that it was in the chicken Chow mien. I also had shredded beef and asked for chillis but didn't taste any chilli. Need to listen to your customers.

The ribs I had were to die for. Excellent service and very quick. Will be back soon for more. Very reasonably priced. Would recommend to everyone

Used to be really good! Unfortunately it has clearly gone down hill 🥺 Food was over salted, & I asked for extra chillies in my crispy shredded chilli beef. I got no chillies at all. When I phoned, it was not taken seriously & I could hear laughing over the phone.

Por lo general, pido bolas de pollo agridulces con arroz frito o costillas a la barbacoa. No he tenido ningún problema con esos platos. Hoy tuve las patatas fritas y el arroz en salsa agridulce, que era genial con mucha salsa agridulce. El arroz con pollo frito estaba muy bien hecho. Las costillas a la barbacoa también eran geniales.

Quite good food and quick delivery service

Consistently Great! One of the best Chinese Takeaway in Inverness. They have kitchen capacity to accommodate reasonable waiting times and the quality is always great. Used for 10 years, best Spare Ribs in Inverness! Handy for grabbing a couple of starters for a snack or full meals. Had the Chicken Satay skewers as a starter tonight for a change- best ever!

Best Chinese take away by a mile

What a pity that the magic wok have gone so downhill. I've used them since they first started operating but won't be ordering from here again. The ingredients are the cheapest and lately I've just ended up binning the food and wasting my money. So time to look around for an authentic take away where a curry tastes like a curry and a chow mein doesn't taste like something out of Jimmy Chung. And the chicken noodle soup - yuk. They used to be a decent takeaway but no longer!

Magic Wok usually has better chips than any of the chippies locally - not today. Were these cooked in 2012 and reheated today? Who knows. Absolutely disgusting. Not fit for consumption.

ordered salt and chili chicken from here 12th February 2019 and hadn't eaten anything else dodgy that day and woke up half way through the night vomiting and experiencing vomiting and diarrhea for 2 days definitely never going back again and will be taking action against this

Got food poisoning from there chicken last night Feb 12th at around 8 o'clock. Fair to say I'll never be going back again. Disgusting. !!! DO NOT EAT

Phoned on a Thursday evening exactly 4:30pm and quoted 30-45 mins and took 1 hour 10 mins and cold stodgy food, not a great experience!!

They do have very good food and the value is excellent, no problem with food or pricing, however the chinesse lady that is sometimes on the counter has little manners a please and thank you would be nice

I have a Kung po chicken with extra sauce and fried rice from magic wok and I can never fault it, my other half loves the chips fried rice and curry sauce. I'm shocked others have gave bad reviews.

Yo personalmente no puedo creer que hay gente de estrellas el wok magia tan mal! Mi familia y yo la orden desde aquí regularmente y nunca un problema, siempre sabrosa y siempre cocinadas a la perfección! Sin duda que la mejor forma de patatas fritas, arroz y salsa de curry de la ciudad! Y su pollo desmenuzado chili también es genial. La entrega es siempre rápido. El chico en frente de la casa puede venir a través grosero, pero creo que es sólo la barrera del idioma.

Hemos estado comprando costillas del Wok Magic durante años. Esta noche tuvimos las costillas más horrible que eran grasos, grasienta y un color rosa muy raro. Si se han modificado recientemente su cambio de proveedor volver porque sin duda piensa dos veces antes de comprar les nuevo.

You can't sit in this takeaway but it's an excellent takeaway. It's always very busy and the food is very reasonably priced. You get larger than average portions of delicious food from here. The food that I've had from here wasn't fatty or greasy and was full of flavour and texture. I was only able to eat three quarters of my sweet and battered chicken and fried rice and felt like I was going to explode. I finished the rest for lunch the next day!

Oh WOW had chips and curry sauce from here on many occasions. Each time the product was what I would call, TASTY. Also had Kung Po Chicken,again, a very tasteful meal.

Él es posiblemente la persona más gruñona que he conocido y que sinceramente no es una exageración. Dos veces es mal mi pedido y en él dos veces cuando me sighed he comentado! En realidad es como él odia que sirve clientes tanto que prefiero no volver. También él no siquiera pronunciar las palabras correctamente. Me gustaría honstly saber que pensaban que era el mejor curso de acción para encargarle de interactuar con el público. Si las cosas no han mejorado en la próxima vez que Imagina un chino entonces no volveremos.

being going here for years but weekend food we got was terrible sure the spring rolls were off and prawns were a bit iffy as well guy on phone was no help when I complained they used to have a really nice Chinese girl who answered the phone boy she is missed sorry guys we will not be back.

He utilizado esta comida para llevar años pero era peor, tonights consistencia salsa de agua, sin sabor a carne o salsa. Comimos un langostino y seriamente preocupado me voy a arrepentir. La experiencia de este lugar parece que siempre subiendo y bajando dependiendo de chef pero este es sin duda la peor comida que he tenido en 13 años. Vete a otro sitio hasta que comience el tratamiento con respeto a los clientes y darles comida decente. Sólo le dio 1 estrellas porque no podía darle ninguna estrellas! !

Magic wok curry was horrible bones in chicken and chicken was black and white looked out of date water chicken tasting it and curry sauce was watery and your man at the front desk didn't care about the complete and he is a dorer face they near happy to see the customers will not be going there again very poof!!!!
