Have visited twice on a Saturday evening to find the place over run with hen parties. Does not make for a nice atmosphere and I doubt I’ll return. Such a shame as the place has so much potential.

A blooming lovely roast! Served with a personal touch. Such a vibrant place with theatre, cinema and drinks too. LGBTQ+ friendly welcoming to all. Can't recommend enough! My daughter was treated to a beautifully decorated ice-cream dessert 🍨!

As you can see from some other reviews, the old Rock Inn went through some purple patches in its transition to the Mad Hatter, then the (pandemic disrupted) Wishing Well, and finally its reinvention as pink palace The Curzon. No longer run by a gang of foul degenerates, you will find an appealing interior, welcoming management, and the best bar offering found here for some years. I gather there is food at certain times, but being a pub, I come here to drink - so please don't take photos of your dinner, it will offend. (Me.) Oh, another pleasant surprise - the beer garden isn't paved with bulldog vomit. Joy.

Qué más puedo decir, pensé que estos pubs murieron con los dinosaurios, posiblemente el pub más terrible en el que he estado, asquerosos ceniceros desbordados en el jardín, todo el lugar es más parecido a una sentadilla en Trainspotting. Tota total! !

Nos encontramos en Brighton en un concierto el día de Gales V de Inglaterra. Cruzé el pub por casualidad y no podría haber tenido más suerte. Éramos 2 adultos y 2 fanáticos galeses muy deportistas que no guardan silencio viendo el deporte, pero los clientes habituales y el propietario no pudieron haber sido más amables ni más acogedores. Si se encuentra en Brighton, busque este lugar si desea una cálida bienvenida.

Si una de las primeras cosas que entra aquí en un pub es que la (presunta) casera describió el lugar como un "agujero s ***", probablemente sería más prudente irse. Después de esto, la dueña de la casa se puso a chillar detrás del mostrador e incluso conversó con una mujer regular acerca de cómo "golpeó a alguien" fuera del bar. Encantador. Que pequeña gema El almuerzo del domingo para 14 servido puntualmente y alegremente por el encantador personal. Excelente almuerzo de domingo. Opción de 4 carnes + 2 opciones vegetarianas + excelentes entrantes y pudines a un precio razonable. Wow, ¿qué puedo decir? . . . . desde el Camembert empanizado y la salsa picante de cebolla hasta el cordero asado, con un montón de deliciosas verduras, roasties y un gran yorkie y una deliciosa salsa interminable, hasta el brownie de chocolate, todo fue excelente. Un poco abajo en el talón por fuera, hace calor por dentro. Se siente como un viejo alcohólico de East Enders, con una casera estereotipada amigable y lugareños. Refrescante en un mundo de gentrified grises suaves y normas de hipster de Brighton. El restaurante es administrado por una organización benéfica que otorga todas las ganancias a organizaciones benéficas para personas sin hogar, cuenta con personal voluntario y crea oportunidades de empleo para personas sin hogar. El servicio es amable si ecléctico. Agua servida en vasos de plástico Y la comida es buena por el precio. Porciones buenas Buenas verduras. Pero deberías ir solo por donde termina el dinero. Y deberían publicitar eso más. Ponga un poco de quid en los precios. . . todavía sería una buena relación y tal vez gastar un poco más en la comida. Pero sí visítalos y apóyalos y adónde va su dinero.

We have heard many good things about the mad hatter by friends and it did not disappoint. Amazing food and friendly staff looking forward to next time

Era la semana antes de la semana anterior a Navidad ... y entré a este lugar un jueves por la tarde después de una cita tardía en el hospital, que está cerca. Recordé el pub de varios años anterior como históricamente interesante y dirigido por una encantadora pareja gay. Era The Rock, pero ahora renombrado y en manos nuevas, llamado The Mad Hatter.Me senté en la barra y charlé con algunas personas que se unieron durante el curso de unos tragos. De lo contrario, el bar estaba vacío, un par de tipos de "sal de la tierra" en la parte trasera, dos (muy agradables) personal y el bastante nuevo y rudo tabernero. También tuve una charla interesante con el chef que me contó que la cocina era administrada por el vicario local como una iniciativa de caridad para las personas sin hogar, lo cual me pareció sorprendente ya que también participé en iniciativas de esa comunidad.Lamentablemente, en el momento de irme noté que mis guantes "faltaban". Llamé al día siguiente para preguntar, ofreciendo el beneficio de la duda en caso de que los dejaran caer o los entregasen. Mi consulta fue recibida con una brusca respuesta monosilábica y el teléfono me colgó. Este es el mismo número al que llamarías para reservar para el almuerzo del domingo, o preguntar sobre la iniciativa para personas sin hogar antes mencionada.Llamé inmediatamente, obtuve el contestador automático y sugerí en mi mensaje que mejoraran sus habilidades interpersonales, y me temo que los llamé groseros por lo tanto.En respuesta, recibí un amenazante mensaje de voz, seguido de otra llamada telefónica en la que él (dijo el tacaño publicano) gritó el efluente crudo más horrible y coronado por "Sé quién eres, sé quién eres, si alguna vez te vuelvo a ver, Voy a aplastar tu cara de mierda en ". Todo aparentemente mientras su nieto estaba en la habitación; dijo que le preocupaba el "lenguaje" que ves.Obviamente, se debe evitar una nueva visita. Aparte del pequeño matón violento y sin encanto que de alguna manera ha obtenido una licencia de vendedor, la electricidad estaba en las señoras y había una acumulación de basura y ropa de cama en el patio similar al sitio del viajero, y principalmente cuando alguien era lo suficientemente descarado como para robar los guantes de un cliente, un publicano podría extender un poco más de gracia.Brighton tiene una población mixta y este pub está fuera del camino. Sugiero dejarlo a los tipos de sal de la tierra y matones misóginos antes mencionados. Comentarios oído estupendo, así pensamos probarlo.Llegamos y nos recibió un personal amable nuestra carne con guarnición pedimos no nos decepcionó.Un plato lleno con patatas y verduras sabrosas excelente caseros yorkies para morirse.Verduras crujientes mezclado con puerros cursi rematado con una copa de vino tinto.Un entorno encantador, con un personal estupendo esta es una visita que vale la pena, volveremos.

A great pub for a casual quick drink after a hard day or for a family roast. Quirky decor which as an Alice in Wonderland fan I love! It's great for all ages and everyone is made to feel welcome.

Went for Sunday roast after reading all the good reviews. The pub was quiet for Sunday, the staff was ok! The lady that took our order seemed lovely. The vegetables and everything that came with the roast were very tasty but unfortunately my meat, i had lamb, was a very bad piece full of fat and very little meat! But not too bad for it's price.

My friends & I came here last Sunday for a roast dinner, & wow was it good.

We have had an excellent roast today at the Mad Hatter for five people. We arrived later in the day and they had sold out of vegetarian roasts but they made a special plate of veggies and cauliflower cheese with loads of roast potatoes and massive yorkies and the veggie in our group was really happy. The rest of us had the pork and all elements were top notch. Well flavoured vegetables and great yorkshires with plenty of tasty gravy. The staff were really friendly and went out of their way to accommodate us. We are looking forward to going back.

Had roast dinner here yesterday. Got to be one of the best Sunday roasts in Brighton. Various sizes available eg normal size, medium size, kids roast. Everything was really cooked to perfection. I think the photo attached will show that. To sum it up, if you want top class food at reasonable prices for your Sunday roast, go the Mad Hatter. Bar staff and waiting staff all very friendly. It's always a pleasure to come here.

I have lived on the same Road as the pub for 16 years and seen several people take this 1800's Inn over.

Fantastic food left me wanting more but with no room to put any more in!! Will be back-thank you for being as good as you say

Although there is amazing food by Cherubs kitchen, in which every meal you buy also buys a meal for some in need. This is a great Pub great Atmosphere lucky enough for this to be my local Pub always a good night the Halloween Party was incredible excited to see what they do for new years eve.

Came here for lunch, it does an excellent Sunday roast. Loved the food and amazing Service. Would recommend to friends.

This is one FAB pub. Great atmosphere, warm and welcoming. Food (our party had various roasts) was just fantastic for flavour and PORTIONS? WOW! Service was beautiful from all and a HUGE AWESOME appreciation of the wonderful work that is being done here for people who need a bit of help to get back on track...Oh we shall be going back again and again and again...

Stumbled across this on a Sunday lunchtime. Very welcoming and good dining area with discreet TV available if required. Had a roast with all the trimmings. Very good.

A group of friends visited here last week and were not disappointed. Chef had prepared a special menu for us with excellent choices in all courses. I had Asparagus tips as a starter, delicious, main was Chefs signature dish of Spaghetti carbonara with three types of ham. The flavour was amazing, so creamy and full of flavour, and for dessert I had home made bakewell tart with custard. All in all a superb meal and excellent value. The fact that all profits from Cherubs goes to help those less fortunate than ourselves is an added bonus. Our group enjoyed ourselves and the food so much we have decided to make our visit here a monthly occurrence.

Have been away pretty much most of the summer but knew that this pub was having a makeover and change of ownership. Decided to go and try on our return and we are very glad we did. Unpretentious, nice courtyard garden (nice inside too) and reasonably priced food and wine. Sunday Lunch was fresh, well cooked (especially the veggies which were perfect), very tasty and well presented. Nice selection of starters and puds. Well done to the team in the kitchen. Love the ethos of Cherubs Kitchen too and they succeed in setting a standard that others can aspire to. Service was lovely too. Recommended.

The Rock, as it used to be called for, was always friendly and it still us now it's been re-named but has also had a makeover and a new food menu. Worth a visit.

We came for Sunday roast today. The staff were very friendly, although busy the service was excellent and food arrived at a good speed. The roast dinner itself was very well presented and the gravy tasted lovely.

Visited for sunday lunch with 10 friends. Lovely meal and great service. Have already booked to go back.

As this is a new venue for the infamous 'Cherubs Kitchen' a friend and I thought we would give it a try, and boy are we glad we did. I had chefs special sweet and sour pork with plain rice. Only one word to describe it...delicious. My friend had minted lamb chops and said they were out of this world. Will certainly go back to this super little eating place in a quite lively pub and will certainly be recommending to everyone I know.
