Three pubs into Albrecht's visit to Wolverhampton and another gem. Beautiful setting by the Church ( Lych Gates being where the coffin waited before the service.) The lovely one room bar is down the stairs. There is a functiion roon upwards along with toilets. A lift takes you up and down if needed. Great real ale selection. 9 beers and a cider. First ever pint from Somerset brewery Nuttycombe. Excellent. Super Cobs on sale, seems to be a Black Country norm. ( butties, sandwiches, baps, buns etc..great ..why don't all pubs do this?) Albrecht happy as a pig in poo!

The lych Gate tavern is a very old pub. It has been sympathetically restored, and there is a brass plaque on the wall outside with information about it. There is an excellent range of beers, lagers, and cider, including some very good hand pulled cask conditioned real ales. On match days, they serve very nice vegetable samosas. From the street level, the pub is down several flights of stairs, but there is a lift for disabled access. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, it's a lovely cosy pub.

Had a couple of pints early evening 13th September. Relaxed atmosphere. Ten pumps so spoilt for choice but went for BFG as always reliable and then Salopian Oracle. Both in excellent condition and good value compared to inferior beer at much of the competition for a higher price. Courteous service and clean and tidy environment. Enjoyable all round.

A cosy little pub in the centre of Wolverhampton. It provides a friendly atmosphere and a choice of food and drinks. Staff are welcoming and efficient. There is a sizable beer garden at the rear of the pub accessed via a Metall staircase. Unfortunately the pub doesn't have car parking facilities. It is well worth a visit but is not suitable fir wheelchair users.

Being a ' pair of landlords ourselves ' on a course in the area. We called in this establishment and were enjoying a pint of cider and a bottle of peroni .. The guy serving kind of looked us up and down as we were in sports clothing ( not within the dress code of the locals) - we ain't local... As 1 of us nipped to the toilet the other watched as the same server chased the other up towards to toilet.....weirdly spying on someone using the the toilets??? Very unsettling indeed... As expected, down the server came and had a quiet word with myself regarding a ' sniffing ' noise coming from the toilet cubicle..... The said toilet user put his head through a car windscreen 25 years ago and ergo has breathing issues..... Talk about not fitting in, in a visited town ... Disgraceful behaviour from the server.... And if he's the landlord, then..... Use some more professional discretion instead of assuming we're all drug users. You ' individually' ruined what was our first and last visit to Wolverhampton. Got this 💯 % wrong this time, how many more times previously?. Shameful.

It's a pity that this, once favourite, place to eat has resorted to scamming its customers. The business has ceased trading. Yet you can still place an order from the website, pay for it (funny that 🤔) and then have it's status immediately change to 'closed' upon receipt of your money. The telephone number for Kimono just rings out and the new sushi business trading from the exact same address uses ignorance to bypass what is obviously an incredibly underhand way of taking funds from unsuspecting patrons. Its fraudulent. No confirmation email. No food. No way of contacting anyone from either business. I would avoid HiTokyo, the 'new' restaurant too, that's based on my experience of trying to resolve the issue. Just dreadful. Zero stars.
