The accessibility in the club room is awful. The seats are off to the side of the stage right by the bar and the security guard stood right in front of us so we couldn’t see anything during the supporting acts but luckily moved when the main act started. People are constantly walking in front of you during the gig as they’re going in and out the bar. Also, for the majority of the gig your view is blocked either because of the fact that the audience just blocks your view by where they’re standing or if the event has a photographer they will block your view. (Would just like to clarify it is neither the audiences or photographers fault they were in the correct places we shouldn’t have been put in the position to be blocked by anyone in the first place). Bless the girl in the wheelchair next to me who couldn’t see anything at all during the entire gig. On top of this it’s impossible to actually get ahold of them to book access requirements. This service seriously needs sorting out. A simple fix would be to put the chairs/ wheelchairs at the front as the front row by the stage there’s no problem with that and then we’d be able to see. Very much not impressed with this at all. Everyone else I was sat with was not happy either. UPDATE - it does not say anywhere on their website about having a restricted view in accessible seating but on top of this we shouldn’t have to put up with a restricted view just because we’re disabled.

The club room is absolutely awful. I’d avoid going to this venue at all costs, the staff and security staff were very rude and was absolutely no welcoming atmosphere. It is extremely hot when in the club room, understandably you will be stood in a big crowd. There is expected to be around 250 people crowded into one tiny room that could only fit about 50. Following this, there was no air conditioning and for half of the night the fans weren’t switched on. There is absolutely no accessibility for people with disabilities, there seems to be no care with their customers whatsoever.

Great Band First Time Flyers. Can’t say the same about security. Very rude. wasn’t told of another gig after. Asked to leave at 21:30 after taking all our money at the bar. Venue changed after that. different clientele. Smell of cannabis throughout the building. Security didn’t do anything about that. I will be suggesting a visit from the Licensing Officer.

The best cocktail experience we had ! Other than beer and cocktail like every other bar, we had the opportunity to try a great combo : 1/2 pint, mini cocktail and a shot for 16£ ! perfect for trying new thing without emptying your wallet ! We had great advice from the bartender, and had to chance to came before it was a little crowded, nice music and great ambiance !

The basement should be banned from doing gigs as it doesn’t have a proper ventilation, just some fans attached to the roof. It’s INSANELY hot inside and borderline dangerous, never again!

Gimme Gimme Disco, this past Saturday, was an absolute tragedy. They raised the price from £13 to £16 which was irritating but it seemed like a promising event as an ABBA disco seemed super fun, so I took the plunge and bought tickets. The door supervisor outside the bar was lovely and gave us directions to the basement. This is when the night took a turn... The security was very over the top, frisking everyone before they were allowed to enter, and my boyfriend even got his entire wallet searched. Then when we were finally allowed to enter, the basement was practically empty. We got there at 10:30 pm, and the event started at 10. There were 10 people inside, with the most boring music, and no ABBA. There wasn't even a DJ! People came and left. We stayed for 30-40 minutes, still no ABBA. Most of the music wasn't even 70's! It was a blend of 80's-2000 and not the good kind. When leaving, we heard people arguing with security and telling them they wanted refunds. We were too disappointed/tired to bother arguing and just left, warning people waiting outside that it was boring inside. I even heard someone describe it as a "school disco" which was fairly accurate. Apparently it was sold out, with 250 people coming. That tiny basement could barely fit 50 people. Feedback for the organisers: Actually start at the time you're organising it for. Be very transparent with the people booking what is going to happen. We all felt misled and I personally felt scammed. If ABBA had been playing, like it was meant to be, I probably would have just danced and waited it out. Similarly, just play similar music like other 70's bands or Fleetwood Mac, that would have been a crowd pleaser. The QR code for requesting a song was asking for way too much data and most people didn't get signal in the basement. I would stick with an actual DJ, especially so it wouldn't feel deserted. Due to this experience, I'm highly unlikely to attend another event here and would probably warn off my friends too. The nicest thing I can say is that it was an absolute rip off. I was very disappointed. I also felt bad for the door supervisor outside the bar, as he probably had to deal with a bunch of unhappy people. Yikes. As this event is attached to the Lower Third bar, it's important for the event to be in good shape and not poorly planned or it's going to drag the reputation down. I've read other poor reviews of events hosted here (unfortunately only after) and it seems that it's pretty consistently poor. Please do better.

Ridiculously priced, weak cocktails, and pints in the gig venue are served in 400ml plastic jugs (why?!). At £7 a pint and £13 a cocktail that was mainly ice (so much ice) just a waste of money. Staff were a bit much. Wish the jukebox was at least free considering the price of everything else. Bit of a soulless venue to be fair.

This is, separately and confusingly, a bar (with live music sometimes) and an underground gig venue. This is a review of the gig venue, which is down the alley beside the bar (no signage). Decent small venue, I've been to two sold-out gigs which were not oversold. Sound is only ok. The state is only raised by a foot so sightlines aren't great. The concrete and pine aesthetic shouts independent but the bar is Camden Town etc (£7/pint) and not enough staff to avoid big queues between acts. Toilets are all unisex cubicles, but very clean and pleasant on my visits.

Waited for doors to open and then was told I needed a stamp on my hand from the front door...walked to the entrance and mentioned to the girl that perhaps she should be there earlier, she said she did as she was told..swiped my qr code but didn't stamp my hand..when I went back to the entrance I was told I needed to go back to the entrance again for a stamp...as I went I told the barman it wasn't great then when I got to the door I was pounced on by various security staff and told was I was out of order and needed to leave..apparently the girl didn't like my attitude...I just want to come and see a band and have done numerous times in other venues. I can follow instructions but I'm not a mind reader. Sadly there seems to be an anti old person movement going on..my age was mentioned several times by the security staff. I went to The Lower Third last night as a guest to see my friends gig, it was a horrible experience. To say the bouncers are unfriendly is an understatement. They are intimidating and borderline bullies. Whilst everyone else was opening up to their bags for a quick flash light look inside that took seconds, I walked in with a small pocket bum bag that was vehemently searched by one of the bouncers, she even opened my studio fix powder! If that wasn’t enough, I was asked if I had anything in my pockets which I didn’t, they insisted on conducting a full body search. The evening ended on an even worse note, after the gig I went upstairs to the restrooms and on my way down to say goodbye to my friends, the same bouncer from earlier stopped me and told me there were no re entries and even though I explained I only wanted to tell my friends I was leaving she didn’t let me through, even though I was on the guest list with a VIP wrist band. I asked the bouncer for her name and to show me her accreditation which she refused, “I don’t have to show you anything” she said. I told her that I’d be speaking to the managers about this, I spoke to three. Nothing was done. There is no service in the basement area so there was no way for me contact my friends to let them know I couldn’t go back in. Bands should not be booking gigs here. This is not a diverse, queer and LGBTQ friendly venue. Quite the contrary. It is a dangerous place with an extremely aggressive environment. To be a victim of discrimination on a night out, a concert, in central London in 2023 is not something I thought was still ongoing. I’m going to take further steps and contacting the council re this incident last night as this venue should not be operating the way it is.

We were told he would receive a email as they would replace his shirt that was ripped on the table. This never happened. She then gave us a postcard with what she said was an email address for us to contact them about his ripped £140 shirt. What was written in the postcard was not even a full email address. When we addressed the issue with the waitress / manager she did not seemed concerned about my partners damages teeshirt or the cut to his stomach from the damaged table.

Small new music venue which despite being brand new does not offer a great view or experience. The venue’s ceiling is so low that the stage is tiny, and even at the back of the venue you can barely see the band on the stage. The atmosphere upstairs is a little bit odd for a Denmark Street music venue. Had a pre-gig drink and the bartender asked me “Is the gentleman going to be back?” referring to my friend who had just left his drink. It was not ironic. The place is trying to be like a NY upscale bar, but this is not what Denmark Street or London is about. Vibe: contrived.

This venue claims to build memorable experiences and champion creative spirits but this completely fails to engage with London's independent music scene. The bar staff are rude and might as well work at any chain pub or bar. The culturally tone deaf management staff are completely disorganised and can't get their act together with sub graduate level promotions and events. Every promoter I know who has dealt with them has had a negative experience. When Denmark street and specifically The 12 Bar was redeveloped it was meant to provide an artistic and creative hub for London's music scene. The Clowns employed at this establishment should be sacked and individuals who are actually interested in promoting Tin Pan Alley's history and rebirth should be put in place. I'll be engaging with Camden Council to address the evident mess that been allowed to ensue at this venue. Such a disgrace.

Attended a gig. Ages spent in the small queue due to the overzealous door person? Who rebelled in the job by frisking everyone who came through the door. He refrained from touching my partner after I demanded a female be present - who never turned up, so he begrudgingly let her go in unchallenged - know your rights ladies - no hired male door attendant has the right to bodily search you! It got worse, an underground soulless bunker greeted us! Good sound system, shame their onstage lighting is utterly devoid of a competent engineer! The gig was for the most part in darkness on 3 band members! Was billed as ending at 11pm, at 10:33 a bully of an employee with a hitler complex decided that he wanted everyone out. And was beyond vocal about it! We ended up by the door to be told by mr frisker that we had to drink downstairs..? Umm, communication between staff was evidently nonexistent - same mini hitler came upstairs demanding we give him the plastic glasses whether we’d finished our drinks or not! Very vocal by this time… Bloody awful experience! Will not be returning! Ending On a plus note, the toilets were nice? Venue and staff bloody awful!

Also the lift seemed to be out of order or at least cordoned off so doubt that wheelchair users would have much more luck here. Also a weird double standard as plenty of people had their bags/coats/glasses (both empty and with drinks in them) on the floor. Wouldn't return and recommend that they consider allowing future customers to feel comfortable rather than ruining people's evenings .

Excellent gig venue, helpful staff, intimate atmosphere and wonderful toilets (yes really). Accessible too.

We literally just stumbled into this bar, every server there was immensely attentive. From the moment we walked in they made it a fantastic experience. The cocktails and drinks were well made too - I will definitely come again!

Good cocktails and nice space but unfortunately dodgy menu that we were told didn’t include VAT only when we paid, and couldn’t find anything on the menu that explained this, shame to taint the experience with hidden costs

Great venue, camden Hells on tap which is always a winner, priced fairly for a music venue. Lots of toilets all clean, great sounds quality also.

Had the most amazing time at the lower third, the cocktails were amazing and there was a live gig in the back which was a really nice surprise. 100% recommend!!

Incredible good sound, but mostly incredible sets, perfectly mixed, unique and different from the usual commercial sound of central London. An eternal vibe.

I was genuinely shocked at the service of the woman serving here. Unfriendly, unhelpful and very okay to ignore people even when being called for help. Pastry was mediocre and sad, I hardly ever regret buying a pastry but this was a horrible occurrence. Overall an extremely weird experience, please save your money and time and visit one of the many OTHER wonderful establishments in the area.
