Roni's Bakery - Belsize Village in Camden

Waitress was agressive, telling us "not to fight" after some confusion over seating for customers that we'ren't fighting... strange way to greet people to your cafe. Order a salt beef sandwich, it arrived in a small bagel, mayonnaise and salt beef. Nasty. Who puts mayo on salt beef? Answer: No-one, unless you're Roni's Bakery. Tried mentioning it to the waitress who became defensive. Weird food, heavy waitress. Won't be going back.

This is my favourite place in London. Absolutely amazing food and coffee ! Great staff and great vibes. 100% recommend.

Bad coffee. The Americano wasn’t hot at all, and both it and the cappuccino tasted super cheap. This always seems to be an issue with their coffee, but keep giving them another shot .The bagel 10/10 though!

A wonderful place with delicious food and very friendly service. A huge selection of food, to the point that I really couldn't decide and if it wasn't for a girl named Gabby who explained everything to me and helped me choose I don't know what I would have done. Her patience, warmth and wonderful approach to the customer is beyond question. ❤️❤️❤️

I sincerely recommend this place! Great food, I think that everyone will find something for themselves, the interior is cozy and clean and the service deserves five stars. The food and coffee are delicious but most of all the staff are so welcoming especially Ramona. Great service and atmos all the time

Fabulous location, lots of lovely choices on the menu and the food was tasty. The bagels were a little on the small side and it’s not cheap!! Rather squashy and semi comfy seating. Staff are smiley and lovely, and somehow manage when it’s very busy. Not particularly clean…. :(( And a pleasant place for brunch, lunch and coffee.

We have ordered catering from Roni’s Belsize Park for parties (mini bagel platters) for the last two weekends. The food was great, ready on time, and the staff bent over backwards to accommodate allergies and everything! Great service!

BOYCOTT RONI’S BAKERY. DO NOT GO HERE. Dear Muslims and anyone else who holds good ethics, DO NOT GO HERE. I went yesterday for the first time during my lunch break at work and asked if the meat was halal. The woman at the counter LIED to my face and said the chicken, the lamb and even the beef sausage was halal, but she was behaving very suspiciously so I didn’t buy those items and opted for salmon bagel instead. Got back to the office and something in my gut told me to call them and ask again if it’s halal, a women from the store answered and confirmed to me that it’s an ‘Israeli’ cafe but the food is NOT kosher and is NOT halal. To lie to a customer about the food being halal when it’s not halal, is disgusting behaviour, unethical and disrespectful. I will not be visiting again. — Updating my response because the owner responded to my feedback saying “I’m making a fuss out of nothing” and again lied to me saying “you have been told the meat here is kosher therefore halal”. I want to state AGAIN, the person I spoke to on the phone yesterday who works at Roni’s said “the food is not kosher and is not halal.” Therefore If the food is not halal and not kosher, you CANNOT lie to customers and say it is just to make money. It is unethical. I also did ask in store where is the halal sign if the food is halal, the staff member said it is halal but could not show me any signs. If you record your telephone conversations, then check my call yesterday where I asked if it’s halal and your staff said no it’s not, she even said it’s not kosher. My feedback isn’t political, I have every right to be angry when I’m being lied to whether the food is halal or not. You should work on making sure your staff are correctly informed on what is halal or not, and clearly have signs confirming it’s halal should customers request to see it.

Not commenting on the quality of products. Cakes are displayed without price - adding price tags would be a good idea!

Fresh carrots and apples juice was delicious (£5). We had a few selection of pastries to go with the drink. They were good except the donut was dry. I couldn’t eat it. Nice atmosphere with fairly fast turn over clientele.

My go to breakfast and brunch place. Amazing quality of food, the smoked salmon bagel is the breakfast of champions and they do it brilliantly and quickly. Sit outside if you can

We come a lot to this cafe and Ramona the manager is always so warm and looks after us. Shes an amazing person. The food is fantastic too, its always so busy. We particularly like the breakfasts on Saturday and Sunday

My go-to-local cafe, great food, and the staff there is lovely!

A timely stop on a walk from Hampstead into central London. The warm atmosphere and the inviting village location made this an ideal spot for a restorative afternoon coffee and cake, both of which were welcome. We opted for the mini Danish pastries selection, creative and tasty, alongside excellent coffee. Regretfully, value for money did not hit the same mark at £1.75 per very mini pastry, and the automatic addition of a 'tip' should really go down as a service charge. The bagels would tempt us back, probably as a take-away.

I've visited Roni's Bakery in Belsize Park on at least 30-40 occasions and have consistently enjoyed my visits. However, my experience on Sunday, 13th August was deeply disheartening. The wait for our breakfast lasted for 60 minutes and we had no option but to order multiple additional drinks due to the wait. Despite enquiring at least twice about our order’s whereabouts, the delay persisted. We were then told that there was a mix up with our order and that we should expect it soon. Somewhat irritatingly, other customers sat next to us, who arrived well after us, received their orders well before we did. Whilst the owner's apology after 45 minutes and gesture of complimentary cannoli were appreciated, we were left rather disappointed and the wait continued at least another 10-15 minutes. The primary source of my displeasure wasn’t actually the wait - mistakes happen, I get it - it was a particular waiter's appalling behaviour. When it came to settling the bill, he abruptly thrusted a card machine into my chest area, neglecting to allow me to review the bill or enquire about my preferred method of payment. Upon my request to inspect the bill and pay by cash, his evident irritation was off-putting. I've always paid service charge on my previous visits, but felt the below-par service on this day didn't merit it. When I mentioned this, instead of empathising, the waiter made a displeased sound, glared at me, and insisted that I enter the establishment to pay, giving a nonsensical excuse of a malfunctioning card machine, even though I was offering cash. Nevertheless, I was frogmarched into the indoor area. His haste to get inside ahead of me seemed to be an attempt to inform his manager about my completely justifiable decision against the service charge. This led to a very unpleasant conversation where I was made to think as though I was making my poor experience up. His following actions – glaring and forcefully handing over my change and receipt and slamming the till – were entirely uncalled for. A word of advice to the staff: before acting hastily, take a moment to consider the customer's perspective. Such behaviour is unpleasant and can tarnish the reputation of an otherwise great establishment. As I said, I’ve been to Ronis many times, and sadly don’t know if I shall ever be returning.

Great desserts, coffee, and interior design; HOWEVER, I sincerely fail to understand why the owner has not replaced this particular staff in Belsize Avenue despite the all the reviews complaining of said service. I have yet to see a staff so dismissive that it borders on hostility. Even worse, they are selective about it: they tend to smile and be receptive to older customers and while ignoring younger customers (including myself and my girlfriend) for 15 minutes. Never going there again until the staff is replaced. EDIT: Seems like they have changed their staff, the service is so much better. The new staff is attentive and sincere, very happy with the management's choice.

We went for a drink, we were pressed to order, keep insisting for us to give our order, we finally ordered 2 hot chocolate, within 10 minutes one staff ask us to hurry up, if we want to put our drink in take away because they need to close soon, supposed to close in 30 minutes.. as she need to wash around or wash the 2 glasses maybe.. the other 2 staff were very nice.. but that one very unsympathetic, just kill the moment..

Love the food here, the outdoor seating really adds to experiencing the nice little area. Only downside is that the restaurant is often very busy and service can be slow.

We had breakfast here. The food was bland and the bagels stale. The food portions are small and are way overpriced. We left hungry and dissatisfied while spending quite a bit of money. What a waste of time and money. Not coming back. There are plenty of other good places around in the area.

We accidentally wiped our drinks off the table yesterday and the staff were so understanding. Lovely people working there and a great place to visit. The food and drinks are exceptional. Staff would not even accept a payment for the replacement drinks ! That was a very nice gesture. Do go there !

But what truly sets Roni's apart is the friendly and welcoming staff. The team is attentive and always willing to go above and beyond to make your visit an enjoyable one. Overall, Roni's Cafe is a must-visit spot in Belsize Park. From the delicious food and coffee to the friendly staff and cozy atmosphere, everything about this cafe is exceptional. It's no wonder I keep going back even after moving to another area!

Roni's bakery used to be regarded as the "go to" place for its range of Yemenite breakfast pastries including Malawach & Jachnun, but alas no more!! After dwindling attendance & sales over the last two (covid restricted) years they have arrived at a short sighted decision to completely remove these items from their menu! Roni's is now just a regular but (overpriced) deli, with a simple & unimaginative menu that doesn't take reservations & struggles to seat any group larger than 3. VERY disappointing unless you are ok being charged £2 for an extra pitta bread (when only one is provided with a whole plate of houmous or labneh) or being forced to buy a whole bottle of a product sold in their shop that isnt available on their menu (like soup croutons or harissa! Definitely time to look for another brunch spot!

The yummiest, most delicious food in London! The coffee is also excellent, the staff are lovely and have time for everyone. I look forward to going to Roni's most weekends - the absolute best!

I went to this place today and the avotoast was fabulous and i never have eaten such a tasty avotoast in my life and the most important thing is that the staff is so kind and polite, and tbh i really recommend this place.

Hi! So, it's not the first time I shop at Roni's, but it's the first time I sit there.... And I sat there for 5 hr and with my laptop! The team is so nice and good vibes, they didn't make me feel uncomfortable, despite the busy hours, they were always smiling and laughing with each other. Tried just cannoli, I was not very happy because they are too sweet.. cannot feel any ricotta cream.

A lovely local Bakery. Their baked goods are all homemade and freshly baked every day throughout the day. Coffee is superb! Deli counter a full with homemade healthy salads and cooked food. Staff are friendly and environment is very inviting. A great place to visit. Can’t wait for it to be open for seat in.

Roni’s make the most amazing bread. It’s super fresh, hot from the oven and delicious. They have done our family’s birthday cakes for many years too. For many years now we have been coming here. They are an absolute institution and heart of the community in Belsize Park.
