Very delicious in flavour however the hot pies were in fact too cold to really enjoy.

Excellent experience at The Pie Room of the Holborn Dining Room, which is connected to the Rosewood Hotel in London. Was very pleased with the service - waiter we had was very attentive. And very much enjoyed the potato and truffle pie - the truffle shavings were a particular delight. Perfect balance of flavours, too, with nothing overpowering. Would easily come here again - best pies in the game!

Wow, just wow! Absolutely incredible meal

We booked this as treat for my wife’s birthday. Upon arrival the team were taking negatively about each other! We were then placed in an empty section at the back of the restaurant and assured that other customers would join the area. I can only describe it as ghostly! With all the other customers at the front on the restaurant, to be honest the atmosphere wasn’t fantastic anywhere in the restaurant! We then had to ask to be moved as no one came as promised as we where just sat their alone! The only atmosphere was coming from a party in the hotel courtyard! Americans from the music industry, I believe? Anyway, not only did they make rude comments at my wife as she when to the loos, but argued and shouted throughout our whole meal! (Btw.. they where your guests, not mine) So to sum up our experience! Awful! This is not a cheap venue and with a premium price, you expect premium service! At this price! Book elsewhere!!!!

The best chicken pie I tried in England, highly recommend

Not life changing but well worth a shot. Lovely handcrafted savory pies in a large elegant room. Attentive service and in particular our server, Adele, was charming and took the time to show us the impressive room where the pies are made fresh every day. A bit pricey but a memorable British experience. Rhubarb dessert was lovely. Scotch egg also tasty.

The pork pie is not good. The crust is hard and burnt. The pork filling is very compact and gamie. Not good

Disappointing and not close to the hype

Pie is above average of British food but don’t expect much, it Still very British. Pretty decor but average service. I hope they would be nicer to Asian. Staff came with meh attitude and ofc We ended up not tipping which generally we do. Expect much more from Rosewood and as a hotel guest, i wont be return to the hotel as well.

Amazing pies. We tried chicken, lamb and potato, all were delicious. Fish and chips was too fat for me but the haddock inside excellent.

It doesn't get more British than eating a meat pie. I know this one is not from a corner pub, but you'll never regret trying it. Ridiculously over-priced, dry pie, bland sauce and bland sides. Lovely service and drinks, but you're better of spending your money in other places if you want a culinary experience.

Excellent dining if you like traditional pies!

Seems a bit unfair to only give 4 stars for service, trouble is it is so popular that it takes a while for the great staff to get to you, and I don't think more staff would help without getting each others way. Love it.

Great pies! Excellent service and good quality good. Atmosphere and decor really nice - would definitely recommend. Nothing negative to say other than a little on the pricey side - however in my opinion worth paying for.

Would love to give a better review for this upscale eatery but unfortunately I can't. Even though the restaurant was only a third full, they forgot my drinks order twice. Service was passable but veering towards the over-familiar. Prices were expensive for the food, especially the pies which were delicious but quite meager with no sides included. In the end, I feel as though we were somewhat taken advantage of rather than treated with care.

The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. A very gourmet take on pies that makes it a unique dining experience. I would highly recommend, especially if in Holborn and want to have a very decadent lunch experience. Also, the bread and butter is incredible.

This place is 2nd to nine. The team here are brilliant. Had a great time and I am looking forward to going back

Ordered via Pie Hole for takeaway The young kid was great, friendly and accommodating, came here twice and was served by him. Baked goods are my weakness and found out their sausage rolls were available, meaty and juice with flakey pastry. You gotta have tomato sauce with your pies/sausage rolls.

Went with my family. "Quality" restaurant, nice place, warm and welcoming. The pies were very good, we took the beef one with blue cheese and the pork one. Crispy on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside. All accompanied with gravy. The side dishes and dessert, a caramel cake with whiskey ice cream, were also good. Friendly, friendly and attentive staff. London is expensive, everything costs double, this place is even more expensive, each pie costs around 35 euros on average. The pies are not very large, but they are "heavy". 1 water, 1 starter, 3 pies, 2 side dishes and 1 dessert €200, really a lot, but I repeat, the restaurant is of a certain type. Experience to have.

Wonderful location and food. I had the chicken pie, brocoli sides and rice pudding. The pie was obviously really light (dough was flacky) and inside light. Chicken was really good. The best was my rice pudding. Creative, tasty mixing sweet and sour. Just loved it!

was famished after exploring daunt books at cheapside so decided to have pie for dinner. the walk was rewarding because we ended up at a proper pie eatery. a very fancy, upscale restaurant - didn't realise this when we were searching for dinner options. great ambience with warm lighting. tried the chicken and beef pies along with broccoli on the side. they were very inviting and palatable. you can ask for bread (£4) while waiting for the pies to be served. while it states that waiting time is up to 30 mins, our pies came less than 10mins after our orders. just a note to use the main door which is located at the entrance of the building (as shown in the photo) we almost used the side door which displays the kitchen.

I've dined here a few times, food is utterly average and priced way too high for what it is. Visited again today and was told they were too busy for a walk-in, while the restaurant was basically empty. Not quite sure what this place is trying to be anymore.. You're better off walking 5mins down the road to Wetherspoons to be honest.

Really excellent pies, savory starters, and polished deserts. Decor to impress. Wonderful service too. But all commensurate with the price. Consequently, although I really enjoyed my visit: not brilliant value. Particularly not the wine.

Karomuster! Nichts zu meckern. Wir hatten Gin und Cappuchino sowie fantastische Desserts. Alleine wegen der Nachspeisen würden wir wiederkommen. Was wir auch an diesem Abend Taten.

We visited The Pie Hole takeaway... £13 may sound a lot for a pie, but they're very filling AND incredibly well made with premium ingredients. Honestly, it was the best pie I'd ever eaten. Well worth a visit to pick up a cheeky takeaway.

Just got a potato pie to take away. Staff are very nice, pie is totally fine but overpriced for what you’re getting. They should consider expanding their vegetarian options and lowering their prices.

We had our Sunday roast there and it was good.

The Pie Hole is a cool grab and go that sells pies and sausage rolls. Some of the best I’ve had. Head to Red Lion square for a quiet place to eat. Very well executed, interiors are spot on, chefs knocking out food that feels like a hug in front of your eyes. Well done.

The pie room was a highlight of our London experience. Every aspect of the meal was top class. The pies were impeccable, as was the service.

Someone said this was like an American chicken pot pie... not at all! You can almost taste the love for cooking in this pie 🥧. It's so delicious. First it's beautiful to look at, but when you pierce the pastry with your knife and fork, cut away a small piece and drag it through the peas and gravy then take your first bite, you will see what I mean!!

Everything I expected from the brain-child of Chef Franklin. A must if you find yourself in London.

This restaurant is great. I really enjoyed my meal with my husband on our honeymoon. The truffle fries are soft and appetizing. The pies are succulent and well presented. The waiters (Tudor and anikul sorry if there is a mistake in the name) are friendly and polite. See you at the next coronation lol.

Really nice staff and attentive, lovely ambiance in the restaurant too. We got the lamb pie and potato dauphinoise comté and caramelized onions pie. The lamb pie was quite nice and could taste the mint coming through. However, the veggie pie was really really disappointing, no seasoning, no flavor of comté coming through at all, and no sign of any caramelized onions. Super disappointing it was just essentially potato, a bit of cream and no taste. The mash was also lacking serious seasoning. Given the price, we were not impressed. I would have liked to address the concerns with the staff but they didn’t ask wether we enjoyed our meal.

Came in without a reservation (and not a hotel guest) took a bit of time to be seated but we got a table. Service was very friendly. Seating was comfortable and the space is really nice. We both order pies and we’re not disappointed by the namesake. Very flavorful and cooked to be flaky but not overly done. Very much recommend for a great traditional meat pie!

The setting and atomsphere of the dining room is lovely. Friendly Italian waiter full of energy and enthusiasm, eager to please and this is something amazing to see in London restaurants But the food was awful 😖 😱 the much anticipated pork pie was just really average, nothing to shout home about. The beef Wellington was so so, Gordon Ramsey bread Street kitchen does a much better job. The disaster was the grilled pork chop, super ovet cooked and when arrived on the table it was just warm, and those black pudding and crackling crumbs was meaningless. Overall a bad meal and not to be repeated

Too over priced and a bit pretentious .

The waitress was kind and knowledgeable, the place feels cozy and fancy. The wine was good but pricey, unfortunately the pie was too small for its value and the mash potato was lacking seasoning.

Not overly impressed with the pies. Some of them were too well done and the crust was over baked. The ingredients used seem fresh and of good quality. I consider that it is too expensive for the overall experience.

The pies were so good! I had the chicken pie, the vegetable one and a scotch egg. The yolk was so runny and so nice and the meat was just amazing. Panko breadcrumbs were a nice touch too. The chef was so friendly too! Looking forward to dining in the restaurant soon

Elegant, buzzy restaurant with exceptional gin bar! We came here for a special occasion and were made very welcome; service was superb and friendly without being cloying; the pies are everything they promise and more! The menu is cheeringly focused, and the wine list extensive. We will definitely return - this is a fabulous central location and a glamorous but very friendly venue.

Very expensive. We took 2 coffees and 1 dessert. 27 pounds, they took 6 pounds for espresso. But reacted when we told them. 15% of service was added automatically. Very nice place but too expensive for coffee

Lovely location, nice environment and feeling especially for overseas visitors. Brought a friend from france. Nice service and quick. Disappointing pies, small, no sides, no presentation (pie on a plate), and a bit dry for £27. Honestly, I have far better pies in my local pub for £15. Shame, nice place let down by the quality of the food. Go for the atmosphere, just not the pies. It's not 'bad' it's just pricey for what you get and leaves you with a poor feeling, not even a satisfied feeling.

Good for special occasions and from the atmosphere, also business meetings. The food is pricey but delicious and surprisingly decent portions.

Great a round. Delivered on every level. Full to capacity at 200 covers but wasn't noisy hence the 4 not 5 star atmosphere rating. Perfect for a business lunch though so you can hear yourself think

Tasty food and professional staffs

The Pie Room itself isn't somewhere you can visit unless you are a group spending at least £1000. It's a private dining room. However, you can go to the adjoining Holborn Dining Room and order the pies. I wouldn't recommend that though - my experience at Holborn Dining Room was very poor value for money. Slow and overpriced with underwhelming food.

Beautiful place with very polite staff but food is mediocre at best. Most dishes were dry and tasteless. Can't recommend you can get tastier food in common pub. 3* purely for staff and environment.

Went out of our way to go here for lunch on a Saturday based on the reviews. Walked in and saw only about 4 tables were occupied. "Do you have a reservation?" "No." "Are you staying here?" "No." = No space for us. And from the attitude apparently very content to be sending potential customers away.

It has to be a fair review i try my best. This is what we ordered for lunch on a saturday, chicken pie, cornish crab tart, roast pork belly, fried prawn plus 2 side dishes, chips and broccali. The crab tart creamy filling tastes sour, so as the chicken pie. Maybe it should taste sour? The chicken mushroom pie i bought from M&S is much better. Roast pork belly is not very impressive. The best dish is the fried prawn. Chips and broccali are also good. Overall a bit disappointed for what we paid and expected.

Called last minute for a table for six and so glad we did. Warm and welcoming staff. Incredible gin and tonic specials and menu overall. Pea and mint soup was delicious as was the chicken salad. The Sunday beef was perfectly rare/med rare with lovely gravy. The chicken pie and the mutton pie were fantastic. No food photos, but have some gin.

Fabulous breakfast!! The ham and cheese omelet was cooked to perfection and the croissant was super delicate. The orange juice was fresh, I probably could have drank a half gallon of it. I will definitely come back!

We had been really looking forward to visiting this restaurant after seeing on masterchef. The welcome on arrival was good and friendly and as we were early we elected to have a drink in the bar first. The bar service was quick and good. We were shown to our table, and our waitress was friendly, attentive throughout. For starters 2 of us had scotch eggs, 1 the grilled prawns and 1 burrata, they were all nice but nothing memorable. We then had the main 1 vegetarian pie 1 chicken 1 mutton and 1 halibut, we all felt that all of the dishes were lacking in seasoning, were not boiling hot and lacked the wow we were anticipating, the pastry however was very good. Desert we had 2 Paris brest, which were delicious and best part of the meal and 2 sticky toffee which were nice. Overall with the cost of the drinks and the 15% service charge we were all disappointed and would not revisit

The food is excellent, however I have to express my experience with the serving of the wine. The wine is very expensive. We were giving our starter course and during the eating of this course we were asked to taste the wine even though I had a mouthful of food. I told the waiter to come back when we had finished this course. How come when the wine is so expensive that isn't a someilier. This put a damper of our experience. Or am I expecting too much.

Great dining room well presented food enjoyable

This place is FANTASTIC!!! My new favourite restaurant. If you don't like pies they have a full menu of other options. Not only is the room beautifully decorated, the servers are as well. They wear a uniform of a wonderful plaid design and black top. The service is very welcoming and professional, the lighting is spot on, and the food is really a cut above. I had the beef cheek suet pudding and it was the best I've ever had. My husband's pork pie and side of mash was equally marvellous. While the prices are higher than your average restaurant they are not scary, and well worth it. At night there is a private room that seats about 6-8 that's really attractive - it's the room where they actually make the pies during the day. It was my husband's birthday and they brought him the most delicious chocolate bombe - so thoughtful (see picture below).

Had a fantastic experience to celebrate my birthday at the weekend. Great venue, warm welcome, with very polite and attentive staff. We even met Calum Franklin himself, before we tucked into superbly presented food with good portions and incredible taste. Highly recommended. Thanks Calum & all your Staff!

Went yesterday for the course making a beef wellington. Can't praise it enough. Calum and Rox were very patient and enthusiastic teachers, the quality of the ingredients was excellent and the finished product was delicious. Greatly enjoyed by my family for Sunday lunch.

The Pie Room is only accessible to big parties so you’ll be invited to the Brasserie area,a big open space with separations and soft seating . Great setting and atmosphere, great service and will recommend ordering the Pies of course.

Location and interior design second to none and is like a step back in time in a positive way. I dined with 3 others who were more than happy with their fish and chips and chicken pie.I found my pork pie a tad small compared to the chicken offering so be warned. Buzzy atmosphere was a positive bonus.

Marvellous pies to take away, with beautiful smooth mash and gravy that has great depth of flavour.

I came here with a couple of folks, and we all got the pie. Best pie I've ever had, ever. I got the chicken pie, which was so so good and the rest got the mutton pie. The mutton pie, mango and curry sauce sang in perfect harmony. It happened to be my birthday as well and they brought out a cute little dessert for me and it honestly just slipped that it was my birthday. Didn't put it on the reservation or anything. Really impressive service.

Simply amazing. I'm a big beef wellington fan and decided to go there on Welly Wednesday to get one of theirs. I knew they were likely to sell out so booked early to avoid being disappointed. The restaurant itself is very nice, the staff pleasant and attentive, atmosphere was a bit loud but still relaxing, conversation was easy to have with 2 people. But let's talk about the wellington, the fillet steak was perfectly cooked and tender, could be cut with a spoon, the mushroom pate was phenomenal, the flavours were so deep and rich it really complimented the steak, The pastry was also really good, i've had a few pies from there before and they're always amazing, all and all this is by far the finest beef wellington i've ever had. It's portion was perfect, i like to eat and i tend to enjoy bigger portions and this was enough to fill me up. I will be back.

Finally, a great pie. Every time I come to London, O crave a pie. Every time I buy one, I am disappointed. The pie room finally ended that streak. It is pricey, but so so good.

Wow, what great pies (and Scotch eggs and sausage rolls)! Tried the chicken and veggie pies, a fish pie (only on Fri) plus sausage rolls and Scotch eggs. The pastry was light and flaky, the mash on the fish pie was creamy, and all of the fillings were very nicely cooked - not overcooked with very tender meat/fish. You can pre-order pies for take away and they reheat beautifully (loosely cover in foil at 180 for 20 min). It's a little expensive but the quality is fantastic. Only issue was that a few of the items were a tiny bit over-salted (sausage rolls and fish), but in general, it's definitely worth it.

The pies here are soo good. Pastry flaky and buttery, well seasoned filling with plenty of chicken and girolles. Pate en croute filling texture was not too firm, just amazing.

Magnificent hole in the wall at this Holborn joint where you can get fresh pies that are made with only the richest of ingredients. Don’t miss out on the gravy which makes the pies out of this world.
