My lovely family and friends organised my hen party two Saturdays ago. We had a cocktail making session followed by a champagne afternoon tea. Can I say how wonderful everything was, we were well looked after by Victoria, Ricardo and another lovely lady, sorry but I don’t know your name ... all the staff we dealt with were brilliant and helped to make this a wonderful experience, enjoyed by everyone. I can highly recommend this venue, and will certainly be returning very soon.

Volveremos.

We visited with friends on a Saturday night . It was really busy . We were really lucky to get a table with comfortable settees on the balcony. The views are fantastic as you are on the 25th floor. As it was a winters evening there were see through screens so it was nice and warm and you still got a great view of the city. The drinks are quite expensive but you would expect these prices from the sort of venue it is. We were served nibbles with our drinks . The waitress was really friendly and the service was really good.

Visited here with some friends as we were recommended to do so by the manager of another pub. We took the lift to the 25th floor to Marco Pierre-White's restaurant. The view was fantastic and believe it or not, the drinks weren't that expensive. £6 for a pint and £3.50 for a coffee. (no more expensive than Costa!) The staff were well presented and polite. There was a small outside seating area, (although the ground is somewhat un even so watch your stepping) This is definitely something you should experience, even if it is just to see the view.

We visited using a Groupon voucher for the festive afternoon tea. I have never been to the lounge before so went with an open mind. The decor is just as you would expect from a place like this, high quality but at the same time comfy and relaxing, wth a great view over the canal. The staff are welcoming and polite and asked if we had any dietary requirements so they could be taken into account. The afternoon tea itself was absolutely gorgeous, with all different desserts from mini donuts to rocky road, and of course fresh scones. The sandwiches are served on fresh thick bread and are filled with great tasting fillings and there was plenty for two. Along with a pot of tea each you can't go wrong. You are not rushed either which is a good thing.

Me & a friend visited here on a Friday afternoon after purchasing a groupon offer for a sparkling festive afternoon tea.The service was brilliant & we were taken care of. The food & presentation was beautiful & the prosecco was lovely. My only criticism would be to have 2 of each item so you don't have to decide who is having what & you can both try everything. Other than that great selection of sandwiches & festive sweets. Lovely clean modern decorated light open room. Very cosy!!.I would return in the future for sure.

We visited the Lounge at the Cube for a late lunch it was nothing special . The menu choice was disappointing compared to other restaurants nearby. The restaurant over looked the canal which was nice .We were told they had run out of steak so I chose the salmon and pasta .It would have been nice but it was covered in black pepper. I know dishes are seasoned but why chefs add black pepper to the food amazes me as its on the table as an accompaniment to add it yourself if you desire. The chef did cook a fresh meal and I must thank her as it was lovely and really tasty I really enjoyed it . The staff were polite. The service was ok .

We visited as a Birthday treat for my Mom. I admit, I was unsure exactly what to expect and imagined sandwiches with weird fillings, but they were pretty normal - ham & tomato, cheese & pickle and tuna. There was a good variety of cakes and we managed get through them all, but felt rather full (and fat) afterwards. We paid extra for processco, which added to the occassion, but still had pots of tea and coffee.I must admit we had a great time and plan to return again once we've worked the calories off!Inside it's very modern and clean. The table could have done with a wipe before we were seated instead of afterwards and on a hot day sitting by the windows it got rather toastie!! This is my reasoning for the 4 out of 5.

My other half and I purchased a groupon voucher for a champagne brunch a while ago. It stated on the voucher, on the groupon website and the actual venue website to simply call/email to make a booking.I phoned around 10 times only to be faced with the same answer machine message to leave a message and someone will get back to me. I also emailed 3 times with no response.Feel rather frustrated by this I decided to turn up and see if I could book it in person. When we arrived in the lounge we were met by a rude member of staff who pointed us over to the bar and said we would need to talk to the young girl there. When we finally were able to speak to the girl in question (another party were making a complaint about their visit) I asked if I could book in my voucher and if they had any space to fit us in there and then (the bar area was virtually empty) this request was met with a lot of huffing and puffing and that we should read the voucher as it clearly states we should phone to book. I replied with the fact that I had over 10 times along with various emails, she did mange to 'squeeze us in' on that morning but made it clear that it wasn't the 'done thing'. I wish I could say that was the only complaint I had but it just got much worse after we sat down...The 'champagne' was more of a sparkling wine, the brunch which was pictured on the website (smoked salmon on a bagel with scrambled egg etc) was actually a miserable chicken sandwich....After we left I sent a very long disappointed email to the venue only to be faced with an extremely rude and aggressive member of staff. I asked to instead liaise with the manager to which she replied that she was the manager!! I asked for the general managers email but have still had no response. I am so disappointed in their lack of customer service and general people skills I would never return. The whole place needs a refresh of staff I think!! DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!

I had brought this on offer for me and my mum (glad I didn't have to pay full price). We pre booked and I was asked about any dietary requirements at the time of booking which was great. As no meat or egg we were left with cheese sandwiches which was a shame, a few more options would have been nice (cheese and cucumber, cheese salad, houmous salad, cheese and pickle, just to name a few I can think of).It was a nightmare finding the place due to poor sign post as mentioned on other reviews. This meant we were slightly late, which they didn't mind (thank god). The view onto the canal was lovely if you were lucky enough to be sat by the window but unfortunately we were put near the staircase opposite what seemed to be a sitting area for visitors to the spa (dressed in swimwear or robes). It was very tight and very busy which was a shame when booking the aftrenoon tea in advance. We were hoping it would be a lot more relaxed and quiet than it was.Tea and coffee was of usual standard and cakes did taste nice. Sandwiches were ok but on the small side so we had to order extra at an additional cost. Cake sizes were just right so can't complain there, very nice, pretty and tasty.Just a warning to all the mummies, there is only one toilet which also had the baby changing unit inside. On a busy over booked Friday this wasn't so good. We had to queue to use the toilet (for the baby changing unit), with a crying baby and pooey nappy in a small dingy corridor, this was my worst nightmare, to top it off once we finally made it into the toilet once the changing unit had been put down there was no room to swing a cat never mind change a baby. :(I have been to a few Afternoon teas and this one at The Cube I would say was ok. Maybe on a quiet day with a canal view my review would be a lot more positive and different.

We've visited twice, and found the lunch food good, though on the second occasion the salad garnish had been dressed too early and was a bit limp. It's clear a lot of "Ladies who lunch" frequent this place for brunch, lunch and afternoon tea. Strangely, guests from the adjacent spa also come up, in dressing gowns. I don't think this helps the ambiance much, as others have commented. Service is good, with friendly staff. The Club sandwich is very good, with generous portions. Drinks are possibly a little expensive, but it is a canal side establishment close to the Mail Box, so not too surprising. Just one thing - the entrance is not easy to find. It can be accessed from the canal side but the main entrance is inside the Cube building and is not clearly marked.

The venue itself is very nice and has a great view over the canals if you're by the window. People sitting there in their dressing gowns sort of ruined the atmosphere so be warned! The quality and range of of the desserts was very high but the scones were a bit dry and were served with whipped cream rather than clotted cream. The sandwiches also had very minimal fillings but the food was fresh. They offer a section of teas or filter coffee but some places I have visited offer lattes, cappuccinos, etc.Service was great. The serving staff were very friendly and always smiling although the first person to welcome us had a lack of patience as we tried to decide what drinks we wanted (having not even been seated yet).I would recommend it for younger people or for a very casual afternoon tea experience but not suitable for people wanting a traditional, classical experience.

My wife and I called in for the traditional afternoon tea using a Groupon voucher. The lounge itself is very nicely appointed, trendy but still friendly with background music playing. We were able to choose our own table in the window next to the canal. The table had a beautiful white cloth and was adorned with a glass bowl containing a fresh gerbera flower. Having recently enjoyed a narrow boating holiday it was great to see the canal traffic cruising by. We were offered tea or coffee and asked about allergies. Within a a few minutes we were presented with a cake stand decked out with an impressive variety of sandwiches, cakes and on the top level scones with raspberry jam and cream, together with a pot of coffee and a jug of steamed milk. The sandwiches (both brown and white bread) and cakes were very fresh and tasty. Fillings included cheese, tuna and chicken. Cakes included cherry bakewell, chocolate brownie and rocky road. plates were garnished with fresh fruit, raspberries and strawberries. The china was plain white and perfectly suited for a traditional English tea. However all was not rosy in the garden. The cream was tinned aerosol. Clotted cream should have been provided as should a small pat of butter. Our second jug of filter coffee was a bit weak. The cheese was a rubbery white and tasteless offering (why not a medium cheddar?) and the toilets dirty with no maintenance chart visible. The ceiling light was a dingy yellow adding to the poor appearance. A few pence more spent and you would be getting a ten rating!!!!. Oh by the way, are the waiting staff just too cool to smile??

A few examples - he accidentally knocked my glass of prosecco and spilt a bit with no offer of refilling it (this was traumatizing for a girl who is v v keen on her bubbly), also after knocking a butter knife off the table which fell into my friend's bag he proceeded to look through her bag to get the knife back -I was always told a gentleman never looks through a lady's handbag but it appears I am mistaken. In general it wouldve been nice if we'd had the staff check everything was okay during our tea but alas, it seems you cannot have everything today. With a bit of retraining in basic waiting etiquette this place would improve hugely in my opinion.

Treated my best friend to afternoon tea here and wow what a amazing time we had. The service was excellent so too was the coffee, cakes, sandwiches and a glass of wine to follow. There was a great selection and more than plenty for us both. We will definately recommend The Lounge and will visit again.

Equipped with the inevitable voucher, we came to The Lounge for the second time within a month. This occasion was for an afternoon tea following a concert and as it was relatively late, the restaurant was rather quiet. So we gained a canal-view seat and almost one-one service. The afternoon tea has set our standard; it was a delight from start to finish. Service was friendly and efficient and extra tea was offered at no extra cost. We enjoyed it from beginning to end. We thoroughly recommend making the walk down to the Cube and even the walking through the Spa entrance to the Lounge. It's well worth it.

Vi sited on a groupon voucher, after eventually finding our way in (really needs entrance to be displayed better) waited a while to be acknowledged by a member of staff.. once seated, we were served with presecco, then our tea arrived. was a long wait then for food to arrive, then we had to request side plates as they were not brought over.. by this time tea was going cold, no top ups were offered and had to approach the bar to request further drinks. bread for sandwiches was lovely and fresh but cut so small, do not think we had a round of bread each.. cakes selection was disappointing (10 rather small cakes between four people,) with a small scone each.. not sure what the original cost for afternoon tea is, and maybe you do not get the same if you use a groupon voucher, but have had much better for couple of pounds more than this cost

I bought a Groupon voucher for lunch for 2 with prosecco. I came with my daughter yesterday and we both throughly enjoyed our time here. Finding the restaurant was a mission in itself! First we couldn't park anywhere but we were told to park in the Mailbox which was a massive help and only a short distance away! When we entered The Cube there was no signs to say what was on each floor so we spent quite a while going up and down escalators before deciding to go into the main hotel and ask for help. We were told the way but still couldn't find it straight away as the doors look like huge windows that don't open. (Secret doors my daughter said) Once we eventually found it we were shown to a table with our menus and a lovely waiter called Kamil served us. It's a set menu for the voucher but there was a good choice. We didn't want the prosecco as I don't like it and my daughter is only 9 so they happily changes it for us for orange juice and water. Our meals were lovely and we even decided to have a desert which was equally as nice! The restaurant is only small but with lovely big windows so you can see out onto the canal. It is part of the spa so you do get visitors having their lunch in their dressing gowns but it didn't bother us. They were probably more embarrassed than us. I would definitely visit here again.

Visited here this week with my Mum using a Groupon deal for Afternoon Tea with Prosseco. The lounge is nice enough - light and airy with nice views across the canal. A large TV showing Sky News 24 dominates the room which was intrusive and counter to the otherwise chilled atmosphere.Whilst our welcome was friendly and pleasant, I was less impressed with our young waiter who was efficient but far from friendly. I'm sure waiting tables is far from his dream job, but would it hurt to crack a smile? The food was beautifully presented, however by the time it arrived the tea was cold having being served much earlier. No hot top-ups were offered which was very disappointing. The Prosseco was beautiful, bread for the sandwiches was perfectly soft and the scones had a fantastic flavour. Sadly the food was let down by the sandwiches in spite of the thick soft bread. We were served 2 spicy chicken (which were gorgeous), 2 ham and tomato (very stingy on the ham) and '4' cheese & pickle with far too much pickle. The use of margarine spread was unforgivable - it's nasty cheap taste was the predominant flavour on the ham sandwich. We had to ask for butter for the scones, a request that was met with a perplexed look from the waiter. So whilst there were some highlights, over all as afternoon teas go, this was very average and we were left feeling glad we had only paid the price of a groupon voucher. We won't be returning; there are far better afternoon teas elsewhere.

Me and my partner visited The Lounge for Brunch today via a groupon deal. Have visited many times and the food is always fresh and of excellent quality! When booking this deal the reply from Manager Carmel to advise booking date and times is always fast. Only disappointment with this visit was myself and my partner are not massive fans of Prosecco so we asked the waitress if we could trade for a soft drink. We had 2 Orange Juices each and were charged £4.60. Not that I'm tight however I'm sure orange juice is a lot cheaper than the Prosecco. However besides that minor complaint we were very happy with everything else!

Went with a group of girls. When we booked through groupon it was a lunch at the lounge. On the voucher it stated you could have a fillet if salmon but when we queried why thus wasn't in the menu the waiter told us it wasn't available as part if the deal. False advertising? The wine was excellent. (A glass was free as part if the deal). Otherwise it was £5.95 for a small glass or bottle of beer. The sandwiches were good, as were the fries. However, everything was over salted. I wouldn't pay the full price because it just isn't worth it. I wouldn't recommend this and won't be returning

to be sharing a restaurant with women attired in white towelling robes, they were obviously there for the spa but to be sharing with 'normal' visitors is a bit strange. It was a Groupon Christmas present lunch which doesn't seem to offer anything very enterprising. It was rather dificult to find an entrance as the whole place doesn't seem to want to put up any signage to assist. It was just an ordinary lunch in a slightly tired looking place, however the food, steak sandwich and chicken/bacon stack with chips was fine.Would we go there again...........no.

My husband and I visited in December as we had a Groupon voucher for a festive afternoon tea. After trying to find the entrance for about 5 minutes (it's not obvious) we found the lounge and were told to take a seat where we liked. The staff were very friendly and the afternoon tea, complete with prosecco, was delicious. It's a nice setting too with big windows looking out canalside. As the lounge is attached to the spa, you'll be mingling alongside people in their bathrobes, which did feel a bit odd to start with, but I suspect it was more awkward for them!Would recommend, was good value for money.

We had so many cakes we took some home with us!It was a thoroughly enjoyable time.Highly recommended! We'd like to go back!Service was good, staff were friendly, toilets were clean.Offer was very good value. You have a view out over the canal and near the mail box ......nice,,,,made a good change for us as we don't live near the city. The only thing to get your head round is the fact that the spa guests are there too, having meals in bathrobes....so the atmosphere is slightly odd! Lets start with the self proclaiming 'arty' portraits on the walls of Marco Pierre White...slightly pretentious! He certainly isn't working here......The bar itself is nice, ambient lighting and especially the views from the full floor windows. We came just for a drink, it wasnt very busy, but the staff were quite miserable - no smiles, & the service felt automated, I've seen better customer service in McDonalds!. When asked about the building, how high was it etc., (something I thought a lot of tourists might ask)...they didnt even know! apparently they 'do their jobs and just go home' hardly the comment you expect from such an establishment. We didnt eat, but there was a private function on and we saw some 'food' passing by......oh dear me, looked like the deep fried frozen party mixes from Iceland!! Not what I would have expected to see somewhere like this. This place could be really spectacular, but it isn't. Tip: travel up in the lift, have a look out the windows and go back down again.......

Arrived as we have many times and sat at a table. Several staff behind the bar doing nothing so we waited and waited and I decided to go to the bar. I asked what the current beer is and the response was "its in the menu on the table"...... I'm not joking. I went back to the table and we decided to wait for someone to serve us. It did eventually happen 10 minutes later. Then another 11 minutes went by (yes I did watch the time) and my partner went to the bar and got a raised eye response from the poor bar staff when asking where our drinks were. They still didn't arrive and then we asked the manager to look into it. He was very pleasant and apologetic and the drinks finally arrived and he removed the tip from the bill (we would have refused to pay that anyway) the lager had a strange taste to it. Sort of cleaning chemical taste but we thought that it must be the taste of this strange lager. Within a couple of hours of leaving this dreadful place we had very bad stomach problems and can only put it down to an error with chemicals in the lager pipes or glasses or a deliberate act by the shocking staff. You should be ashamed of this report especially for what you charge. We won't go back.

NOT impressed. as soon as the wine arrived we where asked how we would like to pay,, bit pushy for my liking, so we didn't open a tab, paid cash..the house wine was terrible, over priced rubbish. drank up & left. The only good thing was the view.
