Great food, regular Thursday eve. Quiz. Gets the brain cells stirred.

I stayed here for one night for work. Hospitality and attentive host, the room was perfectly appointed. I had an evening meal that evening and food and beer was bang on. Had to leave a little early for breakfast, spoke to owner and was more than happy to help.

Great as always Sunday lunch with family.

Had a great steak meal there sat 14th sept,landlord and staff super people,will be regular visitor from now on. Martin👍🚴

We have been coming here on and off for years. It's a little dated with the decor but does feel homely and comforting, however the people running it are always very attentive and the food never fails to be yummy. The portions are a good size.i mostly have the fish but I usually don't fancy chips with it, they are happy to change it up for me to a salad or potato.mother in law always has the Yorkshire filled with steak and ale with veggies and she always enjoyed that, ive had it once and is perfect for the winter months. The burger is very good according to my husband and he knows his burgers. I had the gammon last time, I never usually fancy gammon but on this occasion I'm glad I went with my gut it was so good and I really enjoyed it. We've not been in the rooms so cannot comment and not had the Sunday roast however we have heard great things about it.

Great place to stay, will be returning & using as a base for a few cities. Nothing to much trouble, allowed us to change menu to suit us, breakfast was brilliant. Being non chain they've gone for quality with service, food & rooms. Yes they could save money on quality but it's all about returning customers these days. Over the past few days we've stayed at 7 hotels & pubs, only 2 have been put on our list to return to, this is 1.
