Grand pub this, nice people, the brothers and I had a weekend break down in Newark which has a canny little market as well several pubs which we visited and plenty of eating places.

Enjoyed a fun night, watching darts and laughing at the banter in á traditional cosy English pub.

I didn't expect find any metal poster in Newark's pub. But I found here. Onslaught. Onslaught is English band that I used to listen in late 80s. Of course It was a pleasure to order a couple of pints of lager in this pub.

This was an amazing pub to go drinking at, with a neat and exciting design! The frames help add this life, the counter is well-presented and the staff were friendly. I enjoyed a pint of Tropical Cider that is good to have as an option, sitting comfortably at a clean table!

Awesome pub that is very much a hub for team games such as Darts, Pool and alley skittles.. Great atmosphere with friendly locals and good beer garden.. Owners are so cool and work hard to make this a banging place to chill out, enjoy great beer and play games listen music and have a laugh.. Brilliant x

Friendly staff, warm, cosy pub. ( Old style) Me and friend came for hospital appointment and popped to the first pub on the way that we saw. Welcomed by lovely women called “Lisa or Lesley? Blonde girl petite and pretty! (She was nicked named by us little L”) but she was amazing to me and my friend. Chatty lady, dogs running round the pub too. Helped us with directions to the train station and hospital, helped with pool table in when was needed and we met the landlord and his “misses/gf/wife?) whatever….she was lovely! They set the darts board up for us (electronic that why 🤣) We most certainly would visit again saying that and we did on the way home we popped in again for couple drinks before we got train back to our hometown! But if passing we would go in just to say 👋 HI! Warm friendly staff and on a level off soundness if you understand! Top staff 5*

Was only there for a dart's match, but friendly crowd, the only down side is that it doesn't have it's own carpark

Fantastic Sunday lunch/ dinner what ever you want too call it OK the veg was slightly over done too my liking but perfectly acceptable but the pork and beef where sublime Proper local butcher meat not your average rubbish you could taste it in the quality again I like my veg on the crisp side of Al dente where as most would not very tasty tasty would recommend

Pop in Monday for a quick pint ended up stopping there all night ! It was very quite as I understand the pub is newly re-opened under new management and not everyone knows yet !!! Please give it a try Rob the manager has done a fantastic job with the place I went in years ago and it was a typical fausty old pub now its bright and even smells fresh, He and his partner Stacey are working hard too improve everyday. Skittles,DartsDominoes all on offer although they have taken out the pool table for the time being but purely too give extra space so they can be Covid compliant which they are taking very seriously. Beer was spot on as was the service Very friendly local pub welcoming regulars and newcomers alike will definitley be back !!!!

We called in for a drink at the weekend and we ended up staying for a few hours playing skittles. The landlord was very friendly and set the game up for us and one of the locals explained the proper rules to us. The pub is dog friendly and adheres to all the COVID safety procedures. We felt safe and had a lovely afternoon.

Fantastic pub. Went there last weekend for re opening. Was covid compliant people of all ages there and great selection. Tatsy pub treats and the manager was friendly, accommodating and up for a laugh. Will recommend to friends and family.

We visited yesterday for drinks and were delighted to find we could play skittles here. The landlord was very accommodating and set up the game for us. Really enjoyable distraction. Dog friendly pub with real ales and snacks. Pub procudures are set up well for covid restictions, so we felt safe using the facilities. Well worth a visit!

Lovely people behind the bar and friendly regulars. Chilled traditional pub - darts, skittles and dominos all available for free. Child & dog friendly. Very clean and covid regulations adhered to.

Beware! We checked if this pub had reopened yet and it showed as being open. We walked to this pub only to find notices stating only open for 'Friends & regulars'. Thanks a bunch!

A great little local boozer. No card machine, so cash only. Beers good, a couple of hand pulls and the normal larger and bitter. A newly done side room that is a big improvement with a separate bar.

Working in the area and we went in here for a drink it is brilliant so went back a second day! Friendliest pub I've been in for years. Really lovely staff and customers. A darts pub with a number of boards. Also a pool table. Nice choice of beers and bar staff who know what they are serving.

I'm not from the area and was just looking for somewhere to get some dinner. Unfortunately I needed to use the bathroom first. I say unfortunately because on leaving the bathroom, and before I had a chance to think about food, I was intercepted by the landlady... who berated me for using the bathroom without asking! I was too taken aback to even consider staying. I did try to point out that this needless confrontation had lost her a customer, but she saw no irony in insisting that it is a friendly pub and that it was my attitude at fault!

Excellent traditional pub. Made to feel most welcome by the landlord and his wife.
