The Lord Caradoc in Neath Port Talbot

I've been to a few Spoons, and this was a great one. The food was quick, hot and decent portions. The drinks, as always, are cheap as chips. The steak was reasonable though a little over cooked for a medium. The Korean chicken noodle bowl was really good - first time I've tried it. The cheesy garlic bread was the best I've ever had in a spoons, loads of cheese. Wed definitely go again if we were in the area which can't be said for some of the Wetherspoons I've been to recently!

One of the best Wetherspoon Restaurants in Neath Port Talbot, food is absolutely banging and a fantastic array of drinks. Will definitely recommend.

Great food and a friendly atmosphere plus a great choice of beers and lager's from around the world. The staff are are always friendly and helpful 🙂 Easy to get there by train or bus and always clean and warm.

Had breakfast on our way home. Lovely pub, staff attentive and fast accurate service.

Traditional Breakfast this morning, not sure about the oil used to cook the egg which was a little black but didn’t affect the taste. Served up within five minutes of ordering and cheaper than advertised, what’s not to like?

It's a pretty standard Spoons. The food was luke warm but you get what you pay for. The staff were nice but seemed a bit distracted. It wasn't busy (7:30pm on a Sunday). They did put the Scotland game on (Euros Football) which was nice.

The usual from wetherspoons, had steak...not many chips though.... we called in early evening for food after spending a Sunday late afternoon at Aberavon beach. Huge public pay and display carpark to rear....outside seating area and open air smoking area was a tiny yard ... very cramped dull concrete area. Also disabled toilet needs updating and refurbishment.

Nice food but service was not the best I've experienced, I know we all have bad days but wow at least make eye contact with a customer even if you struggle a fake smile and NEVER remove plates from a table without even asking...ARE THESE PLATES FINISHED...the hospitality industry is not for everyone

Nice Spoons, but Port Talbot has definitely seen better days.

Shocking! love this pub, but every friday and Saturday night, I, as are others. Are turned away by doorstaff. Whoever Wetherspoons employs on their doors need to be informed you are open until 1am. As advertised. The door staff are rude, if you question this, they say "no we are closed". Why advertise being open until 1am if in fact you are only open until 11:30pm? Disappointing

Quick service and friendly staff

Once again I find myself in a Spoons. I seem to repeat myself every time. For the value for money you just cannot go wrong. Food great, staff chatty, well it is Wales, and the pub was clean with a great atmosphere.

Great staff. Cracking pint. Would have no hesitation in visiting again.

Called in for a pint of John Smiths and a coffee. Amazed that I only paid £3.55 for both and that included free refills for the coffee. Very friendly staff, clean and a nice atmosphere. Only downside is the upstairs toilets which my cousin couldn't manage.

Used to be terrible a few years back, now it is definitely one of best places in town to eat if you like to budget. I do like the mixed grills here, not too pricy and always have a good service.

Nice pub friendly staff cheap beer, good atmosphere. Car parking around the corner. Some parking outside. No gluten-free food.

Food is what it is (and what you would expect from a wetherspoons) but would like to highlight really good service from Harry a recent addition to the team on last two occations we've been in. Does not stop working from behind bar to taking meals out and clearing plates away.

Popped in to Port Talbot Wetherspoons and I was surprised with a good service by thr bar staff with quickly made food that arrived. Food was a really good standard 👌 my boy enjoyed the ultimate burger and I had the buttermilk chicken burger. They also have thing slide steak night and curry nights so maybe popping back in again soon.

Very disappointing! Don’t bother wasting your money. Ordered of the Christmas menu but food came out very dry. Asked if we can have more gravy was told no as all in a packet so that’s all the gravy there is. It barely covered the meat let alone anything else. On a plus side the food was tasty and hot but was let down with a label in my dinner yes a sticker saying Friday. Staff came to remove plates from previous customers but didn’t bother wiping table. Not a good experience at all they don’t even come to table to see if all ok with your food just poor from start to finish. Very disappointing

"Just another typical 'Spoons pub" you might say, but it's the people who work, eat & drink here that make the difference :) If you prefer a posher experience, then go back to Cardiff lol 😂

Disgusting! To start with I felt like I was bothering the staff by ordering and asking questions. The attitude was disgusting….I asked for the children’s menu and the reply was ‘isn’t it on there?’ (Main menu) I was then told ‘go look by the sauces’. I had to ask for a cloth with spray to clean the table as it was so dirty and sticky, I was given a cloth to do it myself and not even asked what I needed it for…they couldn’t have cared less! The children’s pancakes were plain and dry with no butter or anything given with them. For the three of us it came to approx £17 which if you go to the beefeater in baglebrook next to the premier inn you can have an all you can eat buffet meal far far nicer that this for £10 and kids eat free for that too! I will never be returning here.

We had a quick bite to eat here with my elderly father. Easy to find a table that was clean. Ordered food and drinks and we didn't have long to wait for the drinks and probably only 10mins for food. Enjoyed

The disabled toilet on the ground floor is left open for everyone to use . The toilet was absolutely revolting there was a strong smell of old stale urine , the toilet floor was covered in urine pools of it and stained brown with never being cleaned . So as a disabled user I was unable to use this vile facility . I informed the bar staff of the state of the toilet who just said oh ok !!! .

Young female manager is very rude. Ordered a gin and lemonade at a meal with friends and children and was asked for ID. I didn’t have my license on me as it was a last minute outing but had a clear and detailed photo of my passport which she refused to even look at. My partner said he’d have the gin for himself as it was an extra cost on top of the meal deal we had ordered and she refused to give it to him, while also refusing to refund him the difference for the gin saying that she didn’t even have to bring out a substitute soft drink as we were in the wrong. Another member of our group went up to order his partner a drink and the manager instructed a member of staff to come over and check that the drink was empty and that it wasn’t for me. After the drink was brought to our table, a few of the members of staff kept staring over watching our every move to make sure I wasn’t the one drinking. Such an uncomfortable experience.

The food here is always a win! Cheap prices for pretty decent menu options (as most Spoons' are). The staff are hit and miss, you either get really friendly and smiley helpful staff, or grumpy, miserable and unhelpful staff. More recently we have had quite grumpy staff which is a shame. The atmosphere is usually friendly and light hearted. On a weekend evening its usually the typical loud and sometimes difficult to talk atmosphere.

As Spoons go these are one of the better ones. Drinks are good reasonable value here and food served is also very good. Although I have noticed their prices have gone up quite a bit lately.

Time was average had jacket was bit dry as need butter then a spard steak was fatty somleft that gammon was 2 bits so won't be having mix grill again

Went with a large group and were made welcome & served very well.

Absolutely shocking service. We decided to go to spoons at 9:30pm for some food. They were still serving. We all ordered our food and our SOFT drinks came over. We then had a very rude staff member ask us for ID. 2 out of the 4 of us had ID on us. We are all 22 years old and don’t look young in any way. Also one of us is 8 months pregnant. They then proceeded to tell us that we have to leave because it is after 9pm and we don’t look over 18. After 9pm they turn into a pub. They also said refund will take 48 hours. We wished they had told us this before we ordered our food. And the staff were so absolutely rude to us especially to the pregnant woman. Absolutely disgusting service. I believe it was a young man, a blonde woman and another woman who had dealt with our situation. All 3 were disgustingly rude. We all felt so belittled. Won’t ever be eating there again. We had the impression that they just couldn’t be bothered to cook our food. Absolutely appalling🤮 I don’t know what’s happened to good service these days. Staff were so disrespectful🤮also the staff sneakily tried to refund us our food without telling us and refunded it to the wrong person. When the pregnant member of our group stated she is pregnant the man said “people are getting pregnant very young these days” then rolled his eyes and walked away. She felt very sad after this and got very upset. I notice someone had removed this review once so they don’t look bad. I’ll keep putting it up until I have an apology. Also still awaiting my refund. Shocking

Rude staff , seemed to be after we sent back our steak as we asked for well done and it came bloody. Waitress told my daughter " you have to call me, I'm not psychic you know" no need for that comment.

We come here at least once a month to meet up with friends for lunch, and we've noticed in recent months a marked dip in things. Tables not being cleaned for ages after customers leave. Less staff. Loads of things are unavailable to order on the menu(haven't noticed this in other "spoons"). What they have not cooked properly and portion sizes shrinking.

My friends and I go out once a month for breakfast to various establishments, we are all retired bus drivers, we had been getting stuck for somewhere to go,so the lord caradoc port talbot was suggested I was really surprised the atmosphere was good,the food was even better,it was my first time in a weatherspoons I was not disappointed

Disabled toilets are disgusting, I don’t think they’re cleaned very often. They’re disabled toilet room is not suitable for vulnerable people as it is not hygienic, wet dirty floors and walls are repulsive to be put simply, shocking considering mostly vulnerable people use it and aren’t comfortably able to. Needs re-vamp. Would much rather use neath facilities.

Great local pub - great prices - greet beer & food - nice homely atmosphere and nice to see a busy bustling pub.

Very busy, sticky floors and classic weatherspoons so unsure on whether 3 or 4. The positive is the speed of service and the staff were friendly and nice. Also toilets weren't as high compared to some Wetherpsoons 😅
