Very pleasant staff, highly recommend

States that their open until 6. But don't expect to get anything after 5.30 as they clean the equipment down at this time.

The member of staff who greeted me was hostile towards customer walking through the door. It’s well noted that the store closes at 6 pm and it was dead on 17.30. I was told it was take away from the first sentence, when there were still people enjoying their purchases in the establishment. It wasn’t a problem but clarified that I could take an empty seat in the only non closed off area with the rest of the customers until closing. I was cut off immediately stating it is take away purchases only to take away from the establishment. The weather was not friendly and I advised I am awaiting being picked up and had no intention of generating a mess. Reluctantly and snapily the gentleman huffed and said fine and walked away without another word. Placed my drink on the counter and continue about his business. This negatively impacted my customer journey greatly, and after a long day working myself I find it highly rude. The only saving grace was the lady working who generated pleasant conversation to me, which filled the awkward silence before my drink was placed down. You need to employ more people like her, you might just retain some custom.

Friendly service, food decent. Even the regular cappuccino comes in a large bowl...

Called in to Costa Neath on Monday morning for coffee and a pastry. Greeted by 2 very friendly members of staff. I couldn’t get the Costa app to work but the man serving helped me to sort it out. Service was very good, coffee was made by Livi and it was lovely. Would highly recommend this store, nice atmosphere and great service!

I would give this place no stars if I had the choice, the woman who works there I’ve seen on multiple occasions now taking her anger out on her staff and is extremely rude, I almost bought food which was out of date if it hadn’t been for a lovely gentlemen telling me that they would swap it as they had noticed for me The place looks lovely as there is a very hard working gentleman always cleaning the front and back of the shop but he doesn’t seem to serve often? I had asked him about it and he mentioned that he hadn’t been trained yet which is absurd for a company to not train their staff when they have worked there for a few months. Would NOT recommend going to this place unless you want to hear the older woman screaming and shouting at the staff for small mistakes which by the sounds of it is the managers fault not their own

It's a Costa... what more do you need to know?

Sadly I was disappointed with my visit. I arrived at five thirty, close was six. I was informed that they were shutting as they only have two members of staff on. I've visited frequently in the past and when Josh worked there he even carried on solo. I ordered a mango iced drink and although I parked barely two hundred yards away there was no ice in it when I jumped in the car and sipped it. It also tasted syrupy and had a tang. As I was thinking what to do the staff that served me rushed past my car. What was meant to be a birthday treat ended up a waste of money and time.

A good Costa to visit, service was quick and the coffee was nice. Plenty of seating inside and out, would visit again.

Was served very politely by staff who were helpful in helping me choose what kind of tea I wanted 😅 the tea was lovely and it was a lovely cosy vibe.

Toilets not available to use due to flooding, closed due to health and safety, however still serving.

was rudely greeted as soon as myself and my group entered the premises. we were told in a hostile manner that we weren’t allowed to enter the restricted area, despite no members of our group attempting to enter this area. regardless, myself and my group sat on a table in the non-restricted section. since there was 7 of us we had to grab a couple of chairs from another table to place at ours. the previous hostile worker then proceeded to tell us that we weren’t allowed to do that and had to sit on two different tables, again in a rude manner. this wouldn’t have been a huge issue, had the worker not allowed another group of customers do the exact same thing we had attempted to do 10 minutes earlier. the worker then began speaking ill of us to another table at the other end of the caffe, after attempting to move the chairs! another worker then told our party we had to buy something on premises if we were to stay in the caffe, despite the fact 2 members of our party had already bought drinks. overall, not happy as we were made to feel unwelcome as soon as we stepped onto the premises!

My friend and I called in to Costa after being to the Cinema. We had coffee and a muffin. Both were welcome, the cake had a lovely lemon flavour and the coffee was normal Costa coffee.

Asked for a caramel latte, no caramel what so ever, they remade it and its was exactly the same as the last one! A waste of my money! The only thing I enjoyed was the cherry bakewell!

The drinks were very nice, but as it was around 45 minutes from closing time we had to have our drinks in takeaway cups which was really dissapointing. If this is the case then we should have had a discount.

If you want to wait 20+mins for a coffee this is the place to go.

Good store, lots of space, wasn't too busy when we went. I had a Terry's orange hot chocolate, was delicious and would definitely recommend.

Stopped off for breakfast the other morning, so I decided to sit in for a change. Grabbed a New York Deli and a chai latte. Food is absolutely beautiful. Coffee was just what I needed. Always have great service here, lovely atmosphere.

They've run out of coffee today 🤦🏼‍♀️. Not even midday yet. Feels like the very basic ingredients you need to have to run a coffee shop but apparently not here 😂

I use this Costa once a week throughout the year. It has improved a good deal in the last 12 months. It is a far more pleasurable experience nowadays.

It's seems there has been a change for the better in management and staff. The tea was really nice and the coffee was good and hot. There's still some improvement to be made on faster clearing up after customers finish but all in all its going in the right direction

Same top quality coffee. Easy to order and queue with distance. The company does have apps to allow for an online order and collection. There's a range of alternative non dairy milks for example coconut flat whites. But still no gluten free sandwiches.

Me and my family thought wed pop into costa for a coffee while we were in town and how disapointed we were! Im not great with caffein so i asked if i could have half of one shot or a shot on the side to do it myself and when i asked i was spoken to very rudely and fely very uncomfortable after the encounter. I was told we normally do 2 shots so i can only offer you a 1 shot and the attitude spoken to me whilst this was said was very embarrasing to say the least. in all other costa stores ive visited theyve been more than happy to serve me my order. The staff are very rude and extremly unwelcoming said by myself and all other customers stood in the cue. I was pressure into buying and paying for a drink i am not happy with and felt very disheartened with the way me and my mother were spoken down to! However there was one yoing gentleman with red haor who was very pleasnt to us and we were vwry happy with his service. You should all be ashamed and i am taking this matter further for the pure disrespect shown to me and my family today!

Only popped in to buy a couple of muffins thankfully I didn't want a drink as I'd still be waiting now... .same manager running the store....loud and rude lady, only really interested in the online orders resulting in long queues...the store looked really untidy , tables in need of clearing...go elsewhere

The very unpleasant ?manageress? who has dragged this place down over the past number of years seems to have gone, thank goodness! Now there are pleasant attentive staff who will serve you quickly and the place looks a lot cleaner. I will now start using Neath Costas more regularly. My decision to use this establishment was informed by the displayed food hygiene rating of 5/5 (Very Good).

I haven’t visited the Neath Costa for a long time due to the absolutely useless and miserable staff, but as I was early for a meeting I thought I would give it another go as I had a free coffee on my account. Sadly not much has changed, poor service and miserable staff, I don’t understand why this is such a poor store compared to all the others which I visit?

The service and standards here have dramatically dropped. Today's visit, I ordered a Gingerbread Hot Chocolate and got a Plain Hot Chocolate with cream, but when asked if I wanted cream, I said no. . Who ever made my drink just made what they liked. A few drinks I've had recently have been sub par. There's often only one person serving with a queue out the door. Lately the servers have been sour faced and fed up. To top this off the Costa App is horrendous. Will be using an independent coffee shop in future.

My husband and I visited this week. Firstly, I was not asked for any evidence of completing the Costa Track and Trace. All the other Costa Coffee cafes I go to in the Morfa and Fforestfach are very particular about checking Track and Trace. There were only two staff working. The young lady on the till seemed to be training the other girl, giving instructions how to make our cappuccinos. The coffee was very disappointing and was not up to the standard we are used to in other Costa Coffee cafes. We won't be returning.

sadly this place has really gone downhill... only care about online orders, be prepared tp wait for ages if you do venture in.. and dont expect friendly welcome .. the manager is so rude to customers no wonder everyone is ordering online!!!

How long does it take for a walk in customer to get a coffee?!?!...well in this case never...I asked for a refund after waiting 15 mins...then waited a further 15 mins for the refund..... why you ask, apparently online orders are more important and that's all they were making, loads of them too!!!.well I say they, one staff member was making the online orders and ignoring everyone else the other was still taking orders off the ever growing queue....after 15 mins of waiting for the refund...I asked what was happening only to be growled at by the online only lady..... I should have just walked out....

went in for 2 coffee’s and the lady working there was disrespectful and rude. after waiting a long time for my drinks i asked politely for some sugars to which i got no response, so after asking another 3 times there was still no answer. i could tell she listened to me but held back on responding. i never wanted to but one of the other customers said to tap on the glass to which i did and there was still no reply. she finally turned to me, scoffed and replied “i dont tespond to poeple who bang on the glass. i didn’t intend to tap the glass but a customer advised me to and i thought it might get her attention. on top of this throughout my experience she was controlling and rude to other members of staff . i didn’t get her name but she was a larger older lady with glasses. there were other workers too but the boy working with her was lovely enough. many reviews that are on here suggest that they had the same experience with this woman so i’m glad i’m not alone in that regard however, clearly from the many reviews made on this lady, there is a clear lack of training or customer service skills. i won’t be going there again!!

Visited Costa this morning. The frosty attitude of the member of staff was so uninviting. This was not a one off from this particular person ( short, round, bespectacled woman) we have experienced this on every occasion we have visited. Jobsworth, abrupt and controlling. Unless this attitude is addressed by your Company we will not be visiting this place again. I would add that we love the other Costa shops we visit in the Swansea area, helpful, pleasant and courteous. This employee in desperately in need of customer care training. No issue at all with coffee etc.

I occasionally call in here early for a take out. There is a lady who works here alone at start of business who I assume to be a manager rather than Barista, (larger lady with spectacles). On 3 occasions I've gone into this Costas about half an hour after opening and this lady is preoccupied replenishing cupboards, polishing surfaces, etc. (all stuff that could wait for a few minutes while she serves the only customer in there). She knows there's a customer waiting - she's just rude. I usually give up after 5 minutes and get a coffee somewhere else.

I only buy regular coffee, nothing to rave about.

Stopped here with family for a coffee. Chooses to sit outside and moved a couple of seats from an empty table so that we could all sit down. Very long wait to place our order and receive our coffees and cake. Coffee and cake were normal nothing to shout about drinks and food you expect from Costa. Just as we were finishing member of staff came out and told us off for moving the chairs. When we ask how we were meant to know they shouldn't be moved, they referred to some small signs inside the shop! When we pointed out that we couldn't be expected to see these, they then started making reference to if their area manager was to come along we would be in trouble. Like that was going to intimidate us. If they did come along, more than happy to also point out to them that can't expect customers to see non existent signs. All in all made us all annoyed and will be using one of the other coffee shops next time we come shopping.

We got 2 lattes to takeaway, one tasted of hot water with milk (no coffee) and the other wasn't great either. Disappointing. Have had Costa from other places and they were fine, not sure what the barista did wrong in the Neath branch.

Very clean, lovely staff, Deb and another girl we’re very friendly and helpful (just the two of them working). Four stars only because Costa doesn’t do enough Gluten Free food options.

Due to my work I visit lots of different coffee shops all around South Wales and I do normally look for a Costa as it’s always a decent standard of service and decent coffee / food.This shop is not up to the usual standard however, I feel having visited on numerous occasions over the last couple of years well placed to say that the better staff have moved on and left and unfortunately the ones which have stayed are awful.They have had some nice young friendly male and female staff over the years who seem to have all left and I think the current staff are the worst I’ve seen in any shop, slow, unprofessional and not very friendly.

This Costa has developed in to a good local coffee shop. Many of the customers are regulars and the place exudes a nice friendly atmosphere. Staff all pleasant and chatty.

Just visited costa in Neath and not impressed. Manager argued with me over take away cup size. Her attitude was extremely disrespectful, rude and aggressive. Both team members had no idea of how to make a proper macchiato and continued to argue the point in front of customers. I was asked to leave the premises. If I weren’t black this wouldn’t have happened. I’m also a business owner on your town with two degrees.

Fab places good service. The manager Tasha does a fab job.hard working friendly Realy nice person .the staff are pleasant and work very hard . Have noticed that people moan and. Complain .so if they not happy go somewhere else .as I can’t fault the place .cmmon practice at moment is moaning customers take try coffee back and say it was weak or bitter.but there’s nothing wrong with it as they take it back when they have drank most of it .it just thierway if getting a freebie. Sad Realy and I’d u didn’t like the coffee u would go somewhere else .but there u go. That’s neath for you I do enjoy the latte there as u can see when I have had to many

Me & friends end up here quite a lot whilst in town and we have always had great service. Lovely hot drinks & a delicious selection of cakes!

Lovely tea, cake nice atmosphere

I regularly use Costa coffee shops throughout South Wales and think this is the worst of them. It is badly managed and desperately needs a new manager. It hasn't been open very long but quickly started to look run down and shabby. The cleaner, if there is one, also needs the boot. The place is usually grubby, the toilets are dirty and the hand drier in one toilet hasn't worked for months.There are plenty of decent youngsters working here who are good at what they do but are being let down by poor management. Queues are often out the door because they don't have enough staff on to meet demand. Coffee varies from superb to disappointing. I've given 'service' 2/5 to reflect poor management, poor cleaning and long queues.My decision to patronise this outlet was informed by the displayed optimum food hygiene rating of 5/5, (Very Good).

Good coffee but the tables are not cleaned enough

Visited here with a friend only to receive below average service - we’ve become expectant of this at most franchises ! Bad attitude from management didn’t seem to help with getting the most from the mostly young team.

Went to pick up my free WUnto cofffee and was REFUSED! Staff claimed they were not a costa but a seperately owned franchise. What is written on theri cups, over the door, thier Uniforms and on every other available printing surface?Twice previosuly they have accepted the vouchers and this is just aweful treatment to customers to decide not to participate in the chains promotions.No more custom from me or my family.

We went here today for a cheeky Costa coffee on our way to do some shopping and get a warm from the snow. The coffee was as always beautiful. And my mother loved her got chocolate. My little one loves the cream off Nana's cup. Also the nice man gave her a colouring book and pencils to use whilst in the shop. Only one thing stops 5 stars. Very short staffed and one toilet wasn't in use.

Love costa in Neath, my little treat, wish the cakes and cookies were cheaper because I'd buy one 😍.

This is a fabulous little shop, me and my husband pop in about twice a month, sit by the window and watch the world go by, but as I said in the intro, it’s hit or miss..........you either get great service with beautiful fresh food, in a nice clean environment and the atmosphere in there is lovely......... but also we can go there and there are loads of empty tables, stacked high up with dirty dishes and no tables cleaned, so I have to empty my own table and add them to the tables that are already been loaded up from other customers, wipe it down with a wet wipe just for us to get a seat while the shop is empty.........the staff are behind the counter and they could be doing this instead of chatting away amoungst them selfs, it dosent look very inviting when you walk in and see it like that and cleaning other people’s mess up makes me feel dirty b4 I even sit down.........so that’s the start of my bad experience also the food, I always have a piece of carrot cake, it’s either absolutely delicious, succulent and totally moorish or so dry that you just can’t eat it and you pick off the cream and leave it, this again is a problem, you either get a perfect piece of carrot cake or a piece that is so dry it’s ready for the bin..... it’s sad really, because Neath town centre has finally got somewhere nice to go and relax, but every visit is hit and miss and that kind of puts you off going there....it wouldn’t take much for me to give it a 5, just witnessing cleanliness by seeing staff wipe down and clear tables and make sure the cake your serving is fresh and not yesterdays dried up leftovers.

place was stinking used cups and other utensals for warm drinks still on tables no napkins cuttelry stinking (tasted of urine on large spoon) smelled like urine staff working area stinking dirty staff couldnt be bothered to clean tables and work serfice area also. please put a rateing of 2 stars and not five.

Overpriced but nice all the same

4 weeks ago, my wife and I made our usual visit to Costa Coffe, Neath but were annoyed that it took 15mins to get served, the coffee was only available in takeaway cups and the tables were in need of clearing up. My wife wrote to Costa to complain and to their credit, they did reply and apologised and credited our Costa Card with 300points. 2 weeks ago, we visited again and all was well with good service, proper cups and the tables were reasonably clean and tidy. Once again we visited 3 days ago and lo and behold it seems they had taken one step forwards and two back. There were just two staff on duty which meant that whilst one was at the till and the other making up the orders the tables were all in a dirty state with cups, plates etc. all over the place. The biggest bugbear though was that once again "We're sorry sir but the dishwasher has broken down again and we only have takeaway cups available" Well I'm sorry, but if I'm going to visit a proper coffee shop and pay £5.30 for two coffees, I expect them to be served in proper cups and with clean tables to sit at. There are many other places to visit for a coffee in Neath so we will definitely be looking to visit somewhere else next time. I believe that if on occasions only takeaway cups are available, then the price should be adjusted with at least 50p knocked off the price as the 'feelgood' factor of sitting in a nice coffee shop is missing Perhaps Starbucks should be looking here.

Called in and we had to have paper cups, not China. So I asked for discount and the answer was no. Another customer also had same experience. Poor customer service to me that is. That's all I had was dish washer was broke!!!

There were three staff behind the counter. We placed our order and my partner went to find somewhere to sit while I waited for our drinks.

Was very dissapointed today, No glass cup only take away cups. No toilet roll in lol and not overly clean.

If you've been in one Costa's you've seen them all. Decent coffee, pleasant surroundings, grossly overpriced food. I'm marking down slightly on service as they're not routinely asking for or offering Costa Clubcards.

Standard Costa - which is not denigrating the place in any way, it is very nice and convenient in the centre of Neath.

Visited yesterday for a coffee while waiting for friends. The trainee (a young man wearing a badge reading "Trainee) took a long time serving the lady in front of me then, after he'd passed her order to the barista, completely ignored me while he gazed at the till???

My 16 yr old student daughter visited Costas in Neath today with her friend.

A lovely shop, both time I wad there very busy. The coffee is great, loved the Welsh cakes and reading the news paper. They are sometimes slow on clearing the tables when so busy. I shall go back at any time.

Love the staff here ... they always go the extra mile... love a big cup of coffee to to just sit down and relax with and tempting cakes. By far the best Coffee shop in neath

This is my first visit to Neath Costa and one of the things that stood out was the lovely friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Very efficient and quick clearing away tables. Nice atmosphere.

This pretty coffee shop is a nice place to enjoy a latte and pastry. Something I have not seen in the U.S.: the prices to sit down and eat inside are higher than the prices for take-away. This makes no sense, as the shop has to pay for the take-away containers, and the eat-in people are using reuseable cups and flatware. ???

Just like any other costa coffee cafe :) nice drinks and food although extremely overpriced, as everything is in costa!

this Costa is clean, but not very cosy. I don t really know why this one seems to feel a bit on the cold side. The only space I really like in there is spot with a table by the window.

We visit Costa wherever we go, but I've not visited Neath for many years. Top class coffee and food, with excellent friendly service from our Barrista.

Divine salted caramel flat white made my extremely handsome (if I do say so...) young man. Curly hair, tall... a bit like Brian May from Queen!

Visit regular, staff are friendly and coffee is great. Staff really take pride in the coffee they make. Also big lover of the treats and cakes. Visit Costa every time I visit Neath.

This is another great example of a good Costa coffee. It is big, it's clean and its well presented. The staff are friendly and helpful and the coffee is as you would expect - superb!!!
