The Longwall Beefeater in Oxford

Very expensive. It was nearly £17 for a single burger which arrived nearly cold. Definitely appeared like microwaved food. Service was good mostly, but very busy at the bar.

Fantastic breakfast this morning

Jax was amazing. Looked after our every need despite a very busy restaurant!

extremely slow service, more than 1hour on sunday lunchtime without being warned of a likely delay. ordering a starter was because it knocked back the main order. drinks very expensive, 4 pounds for 250ml sparkling water. did not wait for the food beyond an hour so left unhappy about the whole experience.

Had to leave before eating as the place was so filthy. Was told on arrival not to sit in an entire area because the tables were dirty. Leaving a very small area to choose from. The barman was then rude to someone asking where their desert was in front of me in the bar queue so I left, had dinner in a wonderful Caribbean 5 mins away, came back for a drink before bed and the area that was dirty was still dirty.

Very poor service. Arrived at the premier inn and booked for evening meal and breakfast. Well we arrived for the evening meal which they said we wasn't booked in for only breakfast. OK so if we want to eat did we mind sitting in the bar area yes no problem. OMG what an absolute disgusting place we sat at one table which we moved from promptly as there was an aroma of wee. We eventually found a table that wasn't littered with left over food. We went to order only to be told they stopped serving Sunday lunch ok again so we reordered. Waited 1hr 5mins for food that arrived cold and one meal was forgotten about. The man how I persume the was manager (he had a jacket and glasses on) tried to explain they had been busy from lunch and was playing catch up. I would like to just add this was now 7pm🤔 and the lasagne would only be a couple of minutes this was after he rolled his eyes at my husbands complaint he had no idea on customer service what so ever. The table across also complained as they had waited 45min for their babies ice cream and they got the same dribble. The table next then complained as they had waited 45 mins for their food but their children had already had and eaten theirs. One area of the bar was cordoned off as it looked like a child's party had been on as the amount of food that was thrown all over the floor. I would like to admit we only stayed to eat as we had travelled down 3 hours from Yorkshire and tired and was unsure where else to eat. Wish we had of called at McDonalds on the way past would of got hot food and better service. I think its safe to say we have cancelled breakfast for the morning I wouldn't step foot it such a disgusting place again.

Staying at the hotel next door, so went in for dinner. Staff were friendly all the way through, especially our waitress Ann-Marie who was so helpful and cheerful. Food was tasty, and arrived in good time and hot.

Came here for a meal after being in Oxford. Right next to premier inn. Have to put your registration number in when you arrive. Make sure you download the app and get loyalty card and then can have money off. Often voucher codes online too. Normal standard food that you get at a beefeater. This one could do with a makeover as looking a little tired and old. Handle for toilet door was almost hanging off. They take Amex here which is a plus.

We had a lovely Beefeater breakfast, not much more to be said.

Breakfast food cold and unappetising. Dining hall dark and uninviting. The staff, though busy, we're polite and helpful.

Why did we come back for a 3rd try!? extremely slow service, food was terrible and not worth the 45min wait. Really will be the final visit from us.

Full rack of ribs, fantastic. Steak medium rare was perfectly cooked. Could do with a few more better wines to choose from but great place to eat

Great value meal in super restaurant... Wide selection of menu choices at surprisingly low prices...

Staff has a bad attitude, can't show you the bill if you move to a different seat within the restaurant. Manager is the worst case ever, threatening to eject us from the restaurant yet we're were a big group bringing business to the restaurant

lovely evening with food excellent for the price. good choice for dietry restrictions also. Ann- Marie was a lovely host and looked after us very well !

We had to sit in the bar because we were told the restaurant was fully booked. There was nobody in there at the time or when we left. We both had ribeye steak. The steak was well cooked but had little taste. The triple cooked chips were average. There is a good choice of drinks and plenty of free parking.

My sole reason for writing this review was to say how great my waiter Jay was. The food was standard Beefeater, but I was in the adjacent Premier Inn for two nights so very convenient. What made my evening meals so enjoyable was the attention - without being overbearing - and humour from Jay. Big up the team too as everything was slick and prompt.

Ann-Marie was her usual excellent self and the food very good. With a third off who could complain :-)

What a great place to eat while visiting Oxford and even better when staying at premier inn, the staff are great and the food is very good service is quick and our server Ann Marie was great. Would highly recommend

We had a lovely meal at this Beefeater and the food was lovely but even better was the service we received from Ann-Marie . She was attentive and gave suggestions and because I didn’t want a main meal she helped me make up a meal using sides which was just as good and no more cost than a mains. The floor manager was really good at finding a table that my large electric chair could fit under too. Having been to this Beefeater whenever we are at a late hospital appointment I can most certainly recommend it.

Good service (Russell), quick. Food nothing special but completely acceptable.

Service was great by Russel, he asked about drink, if the table was OK for us (as didn't book) ask and gave sauces before food came so wasn't waiting when it arrived. Double burger was a little smaller than expected due to price and compared to other restaurants for the same price was small. Considering the steak price too burger was a let down. Food was fresh and tasty. Would return.

Lovely atmosphere for family dinner. Jay served our table and it was a lovely experience and made us feel very welcome, nothing was too much trouble. Thank you 🤩, we will be returning.

By the time you served yourself, food get ack to your table it was COLD, NO FRUIT IN SIGHT or yoghurt for £10.99 I was very disappointed 😔

I must say, i spend so meny weekends working away and i have to eat at these places, due to work paying for it. I genuinely hate them. The staff are terrible and always negative. WELL this weekend iv had a fantastic dinning experience. The staff here ate fantastic one was Jay and tonight i had Azraf. Looked after me and nothing refused, they were very intensive and there when i wanted anything. Well done guys excellent customer service. It's a dieing art nowadays.

Lewis was very accommodating allowing me to have something from the lunch menu in the evening that suited me better. Food is predictable beefeater faire, but Lewis needs a pay rise for his brilliant service.

Refused to serve me a drink at 22.26,when they don't shut until 23.00. Had just checked in to Hotel next door,fancied a couple of quick pints after a 11 hour day....

Complete lack of staff, male toilets flooded with urine, breakfast cold and bland. Condom found on the floor by the outdoor benches. Save your money and avoid !

The best was the friendly service of our waitress and the man who showed us to our tables. Despite being very busy they had the time to give us informative information about our day in Oxford. Thanks so much guys

Called in for early lunch , friendly staff, quick service and nice food, REMEMBER the car park has restrictions on parking you need to register your number plate on the way in to the reception that gives you 3 hours of free parking

This place is like going to visit Fawlty Towers but not in a good way. When waiting for the table we were told, along with others, that we were late! Don't keep me standing there waiting for 20 minutes whilst you hide hoping we will walk away! Our waitress was amazing and funny, thats who we give 5 stars to, the food was ok. This place is easy for a quick bite with a friend after work. The restaurant manager that night need a chill pill and to not be rude to customers and his staff.!

Food was alright, but wait times were really long, and the food wasn't really worth the wait in the end. The staff were very friendly though and the service was good.

We arrived to a no one on front. Got taken to a table and they took drinks order. Waited 30 min to order food, then 45 min before the food came. The food was not worth the money. Will not go back there again.

Although the restaurant was quite quirky with various levels it was quite dark in many sections. Our waiter was efficient but lacked any personality or engagement. The mains were ok but the flat bread was dried out and certainly overpriced for what we got

Breakfast as you would expect. Apart from the fresh orange juice which has been replaced with weak cordial? Come on your better than that surely? Evening meals should have more traditional dishes and not totally rely on chips.

Had a wonderful evening. When Jon heard it was my son's birthday he gave him a card & bag of sweets - all unprompted.

Very enjoyable early evening meal whilst staying at the Premier Inn next door. Food was hot and delivered quickly by Russel. Sat upstairs in quiet atmosphere which suited me as a solo diner. Would happily return next time I'm in Oxford.

My experience with long wall beef eater is very good we always have a very nice lady annmarie to serve us she is absolutely brilliant.

I travel a lot for work, always staying in the Premier Inn. My expectations are low of the evening meal at attached restaurant but this Beefeater has surpassed even my low expectations. I ordered smothered chicken - which looked as though it had been microwaved. The chips were like second day MacDonalds. Such a shame - I stay here a lot and breakfast is lovely, the maitre’d at breakfast is fabulous and never makes me feel like a leper for being a lone woman eating. Next time I’ll go back to my normal routine and eat the fabulous Beefeater breakfast but eat my evening meal at David Lloyd next door.

Food was okay but far from great. Potato dippers were a bit soggy. Some chips were slightly underdone and tough. Our burgers came out with bacon that was pretty anemic. However, my little boys meal (spaghetti bolognaise) was great and he really enjoyed it and we didn’t have issues with anything else. When we queried the bacon, it was sorted instantly. The service was absolutely excellent. Olly C was our server and he went above and beyond, was extremely friendly and it felt as though nothing was too much to ask. He deserves recognition because he truly made our night.

Everytime the gentleman is off service is shocking. Second time in 2 weeks we have had a less than welcoming experience.

I have only been to this place once while I was travelling. I ordered chicken wings for starters and a small platter of: prawns, calamari, medium sirloin steak and chips for mains. The chicken wings were very tasty and juicy but not very well presented, just floating by themselves on an large empty plate (certainly not like the picture on the menu suggested). The steak was awful: low quality very tough and overcooked. The calamari was very nice, the prawns were good but there was only two pieces !! Overall, portions are small but the taste and flavours are spot on and very enjoyable. But the steak alone was a big let down especially since it's one of the major attraction to this 'beef eater' restaurant. Food took long to come but the waitress was pleasant and helpful.

Fine for a quick meal. Pricey though. I would not come here for a special meal.

Overall a very positive experience. Food nice a hot and good. Staff friendly and helpful.

My wife and myself have had the best Sunday roast we have ever had in a pub. It was outstanding. Thanks to Daniel Ellie Nabil and Sam in the Kitchen. And not forgetting the front line staff Ann-Marie and co it was truly a great experience. Thank you all
