Service was great by Russel, he asked about drink, if the table was OK for us (as didn't book) ask and gave sauces before food came so wasn't waiting when it arrived. Double burger was a little smaller than expected due to price and compared to other restaurants for the same price was small. Considering the steak price too burger was a let down. Food was fresh and tasty. Would return.

By the time you served yourself, food get ack to your table it was COLD, NO FRUIT IN SIGHT or yoghurt for £10.99 I was very disappointed 😔

I must say, i spend so meny weekends working away and i have to eat at these places, due to work paying for it. I genuinely hate them. The staff are terrible and always negative. WELL this weekend iv had a fantastic dinning experience. The staff here ate fantastic one was Jay and tonight i had Azraf. Looked after me and nothing refused, they were very intensive and there when i wanted anything. Well done guys excellent customer service. It's a dieing art nowadays.

Lewis was very accommodating allowing me to have something from the lunch menu in the evening that suited me better. Food is predictable beefeater faire, but Lewis needs a pay rise for his brilliant service.

Refused to serve me a drink at 22.26,when they don't shut until 23.00. Had just checked in to Hotel next door,fancied a couple of quick pints after a 11 hour day....

Complete lack of staff, male toilets flooded with urine, breakfast cold and bland. Condom found on the floor by the outdoor benches. Save your money and avoid !

The best was the friendly service of our waitress and the man who showed us to our tables. Despite being very busy they had the time to give us informative information about our day in Oxford. Thanks so much guys

This place is like going to visit Fawlty Towers but not in a good way. When waiting for the table we were told, along with others, that we were late! Don't keep me standing there waiting for 20 minutes whilst you hide hoping we will walk away! Our waitress was amazing and funny, thats who we give 5 stars to, the food was ok. This place is easy for a quick bite with a friend after work. The restaurant manager that night need a chill pill and to not be rude to customers and his staff.!

We really enjoyed our meal, we eat here often because it’s always such great quality and a friendly atmosphere with a great service. We really enjoy the breakfasts where you can help yourself!

Food was alright, but wait times were really long, and the food wasn't really worth the wait in the end. The staff were very friendly though and the service was good.

We arrived to a no one on front. Got taken to a table and they took drinks order. Waited 30 min to order food, then 45 min before the food came. The food was not worth the money. Will not go back there again.

Although the restaurant was quite quirky with various levels it was quite dark in many sections. Our waiter was efficient but lacked any personality or engagement. The mains were ok but the flat bread was dried out and certainly overpriced for what we got

Breakfast as you would expect. Apart from the fresh orange juice which has been replaced with weak cordial? Come on your better than that surely? Evening meals should have more traditional dishes and not totally rely on chips.

Had a wonderful evening. When Jon heard it was my son's birthday he gave him a card & bag of sweets - all unprompted.

Very enjoyable early evening meal whilst staying at the Premier Inn next door. Food was hot and delivered quickly by Russel. Sat upstairs in quiet atmosphere which suited me as a solo diner. Would happily return next time I'm in Oxford.

I travel a lot for work, always staying in the Premier Inn. My expectations are low of the evening meal at attached restaurant but this Beefeater has surpassed even my low expectations. I ordered smothered chicken - which looked as though it had been microwaved. The chips were like second day MacDonalds. Such a shame - I stay here a lot and breakfast is lovely, the maitre’d at breakfast is fabulous and never makes me feel like a leper for being a lone woman eating. Next time I’ll go back to my normal routine and eat the fabulous Beefeater breakfast but eat my evening meal at David Lloyd next door.

Food was okay but far from great. Potato dippers were a bit soggy. Some chips were slightly underdone and tough. Our burgers came out with bacon that was pretty anemic. However, my little boys meal (spaghetti bolognaise) was great and he really enjoyed it and we didn’t have issues with anything else. When we queried the bacon, it was sorted instantly. The service was absolutely excellent. Olly C was our server and he went above and beyond, was extremely friendly and it felt as though nothing was too much to ask. He deserves recognition because he truly made our night.

I have only been to this place once while I was travelling. I ordered chicken wings for starters and a small platter of: prawns, calamari, medium sirloin steak and chips for mains. The chicken wings were very tasty and juicy but not very well presented, just floating by themselves on an large empty plate (certainly not like the picture on the menu suggested). The steak was awful: low quality very tough and overcooked. The calamari was very nice, the prawns were good but there was only two pieces !! Overall, portions are small but the taste and flavours are spot on and very enjoyable. But the steak alone was a big let down especially since it's one of the major attraction to this 'beef eater' restaurant. Food took long to come but the waitress was pleasant and helpful.

Everytime the gentleman is off service is shocking. Second time in 2 weeks we have had a less than welcoming experience.

Fine for a quick meal. Pricey though. I would not come here for a special meal.

Overall a very positive experience. Food nice a hot and good. Staff friendly and helpful.

Visited for breakfast, was seated quickly, shown where everything was, and I was able to serve myself with ease. Good selection of food and drinks available. The only thing missing was mushrooms on the hot plate, however plenty of other options to choose from.

Pretty ghastly breakfast. The cook was so unfriendly when we enquired about food. There were empty dishes.

First of all the duty manager on the night was very disappointing. The member of staff who came to take our order never wrote our order down. And instead of bringing our starter brought out our mains. Not surprise because he never wrote it down. We asked to see the duty manager and his attitude was absolutely disappointed. Never had the skills to deal with our problem. And was quite rude. Needs extra training.

Always very attentive staff and good value for money here. I think it's the best Beefeater in the Oxford area.

Fantastic Rib eye, cooked to perfection

Got snapped at by a brunette female member of staff this morning for coming in the back door during breakfast (the signposted path from the hotel we're staying at) - maybe put up some signs saying you need to go via the front during breakfast? The way we were spoken to was genuinely disgusting and they should not be in customer service if they talk to customers the same way you try and get attention from a dog 🐶 Aside from that, from my visit for breakfast and dinner, food was average, not worth the visit.

Over the last 3 years, through work I've stopped in Premier Inns on 90 occasions, many having Beefeaters attached, so I guess there is some experience behind this opinion! Unfortunately there is no 1.5 stars to give! I stayed in the hotel next door and due to time pressures, I ate at this pub for 3 nights on the run out of the 5, the final 2 nights I decided to get a meal deal from the Tesco's near by as I didn't want to put up with the poor service and the surlyness of the female who took my order! Out of the 3 meals, only one food order was correctly brought to our table! With the same happening to the people on our neighbouring tables on 2 of the nights too!

when we arrived we went to the bar for a drink .. we waited 15mins to be served ... the rest of the group arrived and again waited about 15mins before giving up and dec to ordered at the table ... was nt quite as long a wait ...we booked for the valentines menu to be told it was nt available due to 90%of the items not being delivered .. the group agreed to stay as did nt want to be looking for another restaurant at 7.30pm ... think the fact that our choices we had pre chosen in our heads were not available dampen our evening so no one enjoyed their meal ... we are regular customers to the longwall at least once a month ... service can be very slow at times but this experience will make us think twice in future

Unfortunately gave up and ordered a takeaway, booked for valentines night but found the pub to be under staffed , took 15 minutes to get our drinks, at this point numerous customers were complaining about the time it had taken to get food, when it finally arrived it was often wrong or cold, decided to leave and order a takeaway !!

We had a lovely drive from ‘the black country’ to the beefeater, we was served by John (Canadian accent) he made us feel welcomed and was knowledgeable about any questions we had. Running around like a headless chicken bless him, lovely work colleagues beside him too! Lovely cocktails ..Will have to visit soon!

Came in for a meal this evening as we are staying at the Premier Inn next door. Manager was very rude to us from the moment we walked in. Food we ordered was put through to the kitchen incorrectly so we had to wait for the correct food to be cooked. Bar staff dealt with this very well but we were again approached by the very rude manager. Not only was the manager rude to us but also to his staff. Don't expect to stay until the stated closing time as the manager decides when he has had enough and forces his staff to remove customs. Supposed to close at 11pm, manager told staff to close bar at 9:50 and to have everyone out by 10:15. It is a shame we have already paid for tomorrow's breakfast. I shall be complaining to Beefeater head office.

New management there super slow service staff arguing with kitchen staff cold food wrong drinks too . Manger would not even speake too coustmers . People waiting for a hour for food then cold or wrong food Sent.

I enjoyed a wonderful value for money meal recently. Although the steak wasn't as ordered it was good quality and came with the offer of bottomless chips. It was so good to see Sean and the team again from whom I always receive the best service and welcome. One of my favourite places to go for an excellent breakfast too. Always well worth the visit. Thanks Guys!👍🏿 24 July 2023 Unfortunately the venue has severly suffered as a result of a lack of staff. It has badly effected the Bar and dining service. This is such a shame as it's a really lovely venue that runs exceptionally well when in full and functioning mode. Although moral has hit an all time low, I say well done to the staff who are trying their best in such dreadful circumstances. It's about time The Whitbread company address this ongoing situation by respecting their hard working staff members and honouring the customers with the normally good experience we've come to expect and love. 5th and 6th January 2024 I visited twice this weekend and on both occasions I enjoyed great food and service. The new Chef Martizo? Was an absolute wizard in the kitchen. Everyone enjoyed their choices which were cooked to perfection and presented as expected. I'm happy to see such a noticeable improvement on recent months and issues and thoroughly look forward to my next visit. 10/10 *****

OK for a Sunday dinner. Limited options for a GF menu

Took a group of 8 children here for dinner , pub could comfortably cater for them and provided good choice from their children’s menu which was good value. Staff did well looking after our group, even though pub was busy on a sat night and we didn’t have to wait too long for our food despite our size of group. Adult food (burgers) was enjoyable .

Not much more than a place for working people on the road to stop and eat during the week. Little atmosphere, drafty seats near the door and main courses are expensive. The halloumi burger is overpriced and underwhelming. I'd recommend the deals on the starters, which were the best part of the meal.

A fabulous meal at the beefeater in cowley today! It was my partners mums birthday and they made it super special with all the staff chipping in for some chocolates for her! Big thank you made it very special for her! Outstanding customer service lots of big smiles and the food was delicious! Big thanks to the team!

We used to be regulars here because it is around the corner from us but since february last year we never visited until yesterday. The simple reason was a massive letdown with food service and atmosphere. Now yesterday 31st december the food was great service very quick and polite and it was actually fairly clean. As i remember our previous visit when you would get stuck to the table. So at this stage i would definately recommend. If you like your steak or a decent burger with a small drink this is the place to go.
