Pepe's in Oxford

I have been ordered one family platter and they send it on time but they forgot to send the Pepsi bottle with the platter and when, I called them about the missing Pepsi bottle they said it will take 20 min but they haven’t send me after 1hr:30min still I am waiting for that, After I call them after they are talking rude to me, worst customer service I have ever seen from the Cowley Road Pepe’s peri peri

Rude wont care weather you are regular coustomer or not. Depends on theri mood weather they wont to make the order or not.

The food was great, Anjali served us on the till and she was really hospitable.

I stopped by Pepe’s for a quick snack and had such a great experience. The food was really tasty and fresh, and the service was amazing. A big thank you to Anjali—she was so friendly and made me feel really welcome. She made the visit extra special. Definitely a 5-star experience!

Pepe’s oxford really disappointed me , really poor delivery service, got food 29 minutes late and then food is missing and top of everything no one’s answering the phone to sort it out , really really poor service cold food, missing food , late delivery and staff response is unacceptable

Bought a burrito, the burrito had a huge hole at the front, making a portion of the rice spill out before even opened, the rice had no flavour, there was almost no sauce(not even enough to coat 1/10th of the rice.)

Brilliant portion, loaded fries. The front of house staff member from originally from Afghanistan was superb.

Bought a Solo meal, this is what I usually buy so I know what to expect. However, this time I only received 3 wings, fries, small nan and a small chicken leg . For £11.99 there was hardly any chicken there. The previous Solo meals I've had had larger chicken piece included in the meal and an acceptable size for the amount paid. But this time I feel cheated. Really disappointing. Can't believe this is the way they're going. I won't be going back again. Even the quality of cooking the chicken was poor. Avoid! Not value for money at all!

Ordered my food on just eats, which has a courier FROM the restaurant, and when it arrived the driver who had my food just drove off without it. I’ve ordered here before with no issues and am a loyal customer to pepes but that was disrespectful and unprofessional as I was waiting patiently for my food and he saw me when he arrived, looked at me, didn’t even get off his motorcycle, and clicked that my food was collected on his phone and then drove off! I hope he gets punished! I called a few times on the number and the call was only answered once / 5 calls and when it was they hang up after one second :( didn’t even speak or say hello or ask anything.

The workers on the grill don't know how to work on the grill and tried to cheat me on my meal. 1 star customer service

I'm regular customer and love pepe's and their chicken and rice box, however each time I've ordered chicken and rice box it's been coming out dry!! They don't put enough sauce and the chicken it self was dry! I asked the worker if he could put extra sauce as the last few times I've ordered it's been dry not enough sauce, he then replied "you should tell us before me start cooking it so we can note it down on the system" but it's common sense to add enough sauce in the first place and not having the customer to ask for it? Clearly it's done on purpose

Ordered the mild rice box to take out but when started to eat meat it wasn't the mild I asked for and was unable to eat it. Also my chip portion was ordered without out piri salt and they had packed both plain and piri salted portion together it one bag so contaminated my portion as all mixed in together..so again I couldn't eat . Very disappointed . People should get what they ask for in their order and food wrapped separately for each meal. Same happens if you order to eat in..two meals stuffed on one tray

A fast food outlet with over 20 mins to serve a food. Tastes as regular pepes chicken.. no intention of serving food with smile and pride.. prices are rocket high .

There was an issue with Barclaycard, I paid with my debit card, but Pepe’s said the transaction never went through - so I paid with another card. Pepe’s said if I paid twice they would refund the money - this was on 3/02/25 - now on 9/02/25 they still won’t refund, and I have to speak to a manager - who will be on site Monday at 7pm Awful customer service - this my second visit to get an overpayment repaid - they know they took the money twice - but for some reason won’t refund the money DISGRACEFUL

Food is alright need to improve service

Ordered from takeaway online expecting the food to be delivered on time. However, we had to wait almost 3 hours hoping the food would turn up. Called the restaurant and a woman told me that the food was sent out for delivery 5 to 10 mins ago this was after an hour wait. Called again as it hasn’t arrived at all and got hung up on twice, repeatedly declining our call. Very frustrating having to wait this long and for someone to lie about all of this. Thanks again hope that the restaurant will take review and to better improve it services especially the answering the call.

Bad treatment by the customer and the delivery person. The money for the order was deducted from me and I did not receive anything. I do not encourage anyone to order the delivery service.

I do not encourage anyone to eat in the restaurant because the burger was not cooked completely and the treatment was bad. I have never gone to this restaurant. It was a very, very, very bad experience.

Went to Pepe’s and wouldn’t go there again. The service could have been a lot better. The burger was fine, but there are definitely better options other places.

I really like the food at Pepe's but today I was quite disappointed by the covered food. I had written in the order note that I wanted the wings to be juicy and well coated with sauce. But the wings were very dry. When I call them and tell them that it is dry and there is no sauce, they reply that extra money is charged for the juicier extra sauces , whereas there is no option for extra sauces in wings . I had ordered 3 dip sauces but it was missing in the order, when I called they sent dip after 1-1:30 hour of which they are no use . I had to face a lot of embarrassment to my friends because of you pepe’s team. You will have to think twice before ordering again.

Very simple order - half it was wrong when it arrived. Significantly worse than the pepe's where I used to live and I will not be ordering again.

Worst customer service 😔 They are not serving Sauces woth 10 or 20 pence with food. You don't pack food in a hand cary for take away. When i checked inside the food bag You didn't put Napkins.To make sure When i asked him have you put some sauces with the man told you have to buy amazing Bro. I was loving forward to a nice takeout from Pepes, presuming that it was in Oxford I thought the quality and establishment would be of much higher quality compared to my local ones. How wrong I was, there was only an option of sweet chilli or hot for my chicken n rice. Rather unusual as my local offer a few different spice levels. The biggest let down was the sauces. The garlic mayo n chilli were literally pots of water! Honestly I could not fathom how terrible they were. They were watered down that much that the water n any hint of sauce had separated to leave a layer of floating sauce. The shop seems OK but it's littered with mopeds outside and the neighbouring shop I presume has put a table under the tree with everyone smoking n leaving an unpleasant experience. The wait was slightly longer then expected but that could be overlooked. Unfortunately I won't be returning as the quality is nowhere near where it should be and for the cost it's not far off getting a meal at a restaurant down the road!

Although the item I ordered was reasonable, chicken was a bit rubbery for some reason, I was more surprised how expensive they have got, so chicken and rice was £7.29 and it used to be £4.99 only a while back and the competition do it for £5.99 with better taste and same portions.

SHOCKING food I received for £8. I ordered 2 spicy rice box's and I'm not someone who eats spicy so I thought I'd start eating spicy again but the rice they gave me was FLAVOURLESS.. I didn't taste even a nanopiece of spice, very very disappointed that all they gave me was yellow coloured basmati rice??? Would've rather just went to go buy the whole bag for like £2 more if this is the shocking food I'm gonna receive for all that money..

Been here recently for take in , out of all the pepes I’ve been to , London , , birmgham etc z This one had to be the worst , chicken is always so dry from inside , I’ve told them repeatedly abkjt this but clearly they don’t do anything ! Also, you have to pay for dips considering you’re aready spending a lot.

Our go to place to order some peri peri chicken. Food is always great. Good staff. The delivery people are not very great. Even though the address is clear they don't come to the door and are a bit rude at times. But if you order the food comes quickly. And the loaded fries are awesome 👍

I love love pepe's. The taste of it and chicken so yum. 😋 But unfortunately one day I didn't like the chicken and because of that my hormones fluctuated and I got bleeding the next day. There was something problem with the raw chicken. Please be careful, don't use those chicken birds which grow up quickly after injecting some medicine.

I have been to many pepes brances in the UK and the Oxford branch is by far the worst pepes branch I have ever been to. Do they not use the sauce they’re provided with???! Really hope someone takes over this branch and provides the high standard of food you can get at pepes. The owner of this franchise need to seriously reevaluate. Seeing his comments of peoples reviews saying they are fake, justifying every complaint, and taking no responsibility just further confirms the lack of understanding the owner has in running a business. Horrible low quality food. Very disappointing for a pepes to be this bad.

Worst pepes of all times- Priced more than all pepes for Paneer rice box meal- i ordered extra hot but it was not flavored at all-forget hot or extra hot. Literally just gave 5 paneer cubes. Forgot my cutleries as well inspite of special instruction.

The first restaurant I visited after landing from Toronto. Was suggested to me by a friend who lives in the UK. I got the half peri-peri chicken extreme flavour. The food blew away my expectations. It was very spicy just what I wanted! Coming from Toronto we often visit grilled chicken places like Nandos. Unfortunately most restaurants in Toronto fail to understand and deliver spicy flavours. I go to Nandos and get the extra hot every time but I have to repeat the same instructions (extra hot sauce, extra baste, etc.) and still it fails to meet expectations and it is never spicy enough. Every restaurant I go to its the same story, no spice no flavour. This was not the case for Pepes. All I had to say was extreme and they delivered. I ended up purchasing a bottle of extreme sauce. I usually take a bottle of nandos extra hot sauce everywhere. This will be my replacement for the next few weeks and I can have a bit of Pepes everywhere I go. Then I unfortunately will have to go back to my usual nandos sauce. Hoping one day Pepes will come to Toronto too (if you do come please don't downgrade your spicy standards, extreme should stay extreme even if people are unable to eat it there are lots of people like me who can).

Placed order at 830, arrived at the 10.15. Was sent the wrong order so called to tell them and they said they would replace it. no apology but thought ok at least they would replace as soon as possible. They advised that they would deliver remaining order within 30 minutes and also advised they would want the incorrect item back. Cheeky. Been sat here for an additional one hour waiting for my remaining order. The rest of the party have eaten. Rang to complain, spoke to the “manager” who didn’t want to give me his name. Such disgusting disappointing customer service from Pepe’s. I will be taking this further. Literally still waiting. This is really letting down the branch as a whole. Never had problems with Pepe’s other franchises.

Bit of a strange experience, Went once food was good, Second time round food was nasty and watered down peri peri sauce on chicken, Extra for chilli and mayo even with meals?. Waiting times are horrendous, Told 20 mins and was a good 35 mins before food ready. I guess it depends on the day you go and the person cooking your food. if your lucky you get a decent meal if unlucky you'll be leaving unsatisfied.

WORST PEPES I HAVE EVER BEEN . We have eating Pepe’s since 2015 and the staff was telling us they know how to cook we ordered full chicken , chicken rice, chicken wings and chicken wrap all lemon and herb barely any sauce on the chicken or rice wings had £45 wasted thrown food in the bin. EVERYTHING WAS BLEND LIKE CHICKEN WAS BOILED AND THROWN TO THE GRILL IT WAS NASTY

Been using pepes for last 18 months regularly but the last few weeks have gone down hill hairs in food turns up cold to be told In the last 2 days I can’t pay cash on delivery at 8pm at night then tonight I been told there’s a minimum order of £15 but I politely reminded him I ordered often for the last 18 months and had no issue I ordered for cash delivery just 2 days ago and paid £15.50 on delivery AVOID AT ALL COSTS AS SOON AS YOU BECOME REGULAR THEY BECOME ROBBING 💯

Halal piri piri grilled chicken place. The price is less compared to other pepes stores but the quality is nowhere close to what Pepes can offer. I have tried Pepes in many other places and they tasted a lot better. I ordered the chicken box and the vegetables lacked seasoning. The chicken was also not as juicy. The chicken meat/processing quality was average. The customer was friendly and helpful. There is plenty of seating area. Please be mindful parking opposite is not always available between 9-5pm. Restaurant refused to issue a refund of £19 for an order that was placed in error, cancelled immediately and wasn't prepared. Avoid at all costs.

I made the mistake of giving this place a 2nd chance! They forgot my childs chicken nuggets when i called them they implied I was making it up! Will NEVER order from them again! Ordered a tasca which was like eating bread with sauce! Cost £8.59..rang them to complain they were very rude and not helpful. Burger size is a JOKE!! Normal pepes, could do better with a tidy up/revamp. Food was reasonable but not 100% to pepes standards in comparison to other stores.
