Have popped in here many times, not eaten, but have always been struck by standard of bar service. Makes such a difference to the experience (for us). Think top jolly leader is named Sinead?? Definitely worth a visit and a 'go to' - thank you.

Staff were friendly. Servicing speed is fast despite is having full house of customer. Price is the lowest compared to other restaurants 👌

My fish and chips were baked up, dry fish and chips both lukewarm, I should of complained at the time, but there were 4 of us a birthday meal and I wasn't paying otherwise I would of sent it back, been before was Excellent, wouldn't be going again. Woke up with bad Stomach ache Not good,was Sunday 9th.

Pretty impressive 'Spoons, located in New Street Station. It's obviously in a very convenient spot, right in the station complex, near the city centre and other transport options. It's a huge and impressive space, all looks brand-new still, with lots of seating options, including booths and canteen-style areas. For some reason the toilets are tiny and miles away, as is usual for Wetherspoons. They were clean and well-kept though. I like that it's open till a bit later, even though it's in a station. This makes it a good option for a late drink after a show or visit to the city. Sadly it does attract some dodgy characters, who seem to have free reign in the pub- didn't see any security. Food and drink are the usual 'Spoons fare and reasonable prices. Unfortunately the service has been quite slow in the times I've visited, with staff doing other tasks when the bar is extremely busy. It's not really a complaint as I'm sure they're doing their best, just be aware it can get very busy. But definitely worth a stop for a drink should you be passing through.

Amazing service from Sinead! Regularly welcomes us with a smile & she will go out of her way to ensure we have everything we need.

Despite being very busy we had some lovely drinks before boarding our train. The bar staff were as quick as they could be serving so many people. Big thank you to Sinead behind the bar, what a lovely girl, the definition of service with a smile! :)

Very busy this morning! I was served by a lovely woman. She was rushed off her feet but still checked if are breakfast was ok I will definitely return!

I was at the London yesterday and a girl called Natalie served me, nothing was too much trouble and she made me feel so welcome, I wanted to change a few items on my breakfast and she couldn't be more helpful, credit to the company will certainly be returning to be welcomed with such a lovely smile and cheer was such a refreshing change to other places I have been.. Experienced a pleasant time whilst drinking and dining at this pub yesterday. We was served by a lovely waitress named Natalie who went out her way to make sure we was happy with everything, nothing was too much to ask for and she ensured we was happy throughout, definitely made our experience more enjoyable. Food was also good quality and arrived in good timing.

Pop in regularly after work for a quick pint and sometimes bite to eat. Always busy but always quick and easy to get my food and drink

Had a couple of cheeky beers with friends and family earlier. Staffed were very nice and couldn’t do enough for us. Sinead was or server. Very sweet girl.

Great. Visited Birmingham and we called in for breakfast and coffee instead of our hotel. Large. Plenty of seats/tables. Food came out before I'd even got the hot drinks. Fresh. Toilets were easiest spoons loos I've been too. 3-4 steps lol

Can't believe it's spoons. Amazing layout and interior like a 4star bar. Big seating area but always full pack because of amazing location. Big staff team but don't ask about service because it's like a fish market. There's no queue system or staff is serving here and there and people who are waiting long, they're not noticeable. Nice atmosphere but too much notice. Back after long time and there’s much progress in service.

Popped in with a few friends for a couple of drinks lovely place nice and spacious not cramped so we could all enjoy a beer and a good chat to catch up

Warm and welcome from the station, lots of glass to watch as people go by, low prices compared to other places in the centre. Lots of tables from small twin to Boothe and app ordering which is quick and simple. Menu is good, very reasonable, food was good and turned up fast.

Hi...the atmosphere is great...I have been coming in every day for the last 3 weeks due to having some training in town....I drink Worthingtons.which I have always been served a nice pint...but today I came in went to the bar asked for a pint of Worthingtons...the barstaff went off and came back with a darker looking pint .I just took the pint and sat down...realised it was a pint of Guinness. I thought ok mistakes can happen...I do drink Guinness sometimes....went back to bar and a different member of staff served me...the same happen again. I get a Guinness not a Worthingtons.....the third time I went to the bar..I asked for a Worthingtons...I watched which pump the staff got my drink from..it was the Guinness tap...I said to him why are you puring a Guinness when I asked for a Worthingtons....he said it says Worthingtons on his side of the bar...my question is...why two members of staff did not know the difference between a Worthingtons and a Guinness......

Very disappointing service. Weren't able to order drinks properly due to miscommunication and sadly very unfriendly service.

Food came out cold, I asked for dairy free milk and spread due to allergies, was no substitutes available at all. Drinks machines - only 2 working.

Thank you for excellent service, great facilities and a train timetable so helpful for waiting passengers. Good to know about Birds custard powder and james watt, steam engines. Please pass thanks on to staff.

Awful place. Chips stone cold , pasta also cold and so was the other two meals. Honestly was just dirty over packed and way under staffed. Wouldn’t recommend have had this issue over 3 times and there’s never anyone around to ask for fresh stuff. Wouldn’t recommend for even a drink as they kept giving our drinks to the wrong tables and we having to wait at bar to ask for them to be made again nightmare

Typical spoons. Slow service & not enough bar staff at peak times

I ordered basic tea and toast, when it came there was only one slice and not two. The waitress had some funny attitude about her she clearly knew the order was wrong. I did get two more slices but they were as dry and cold as the first.

Very spacious pub, handy for trains. Some good ales. Bar staff slow and not very cheerful.

Awful is the only word to use for this to be brutally honest. I ordered a traditional breakfast which comes with 2 hash browns, when I got it I didn’t have any, which is fair enough mistakes happen. I asked if I could have my hashbrowns and when they came I still only received 1 hashbrown, staff didn’t seem bothered and I didn’t get my second hash brown which was annoying since I paid for it. The baked beans were stone cold so I couldn’t eat them and the sausage was undercooked. I get it’s a station spoons but it wasn’t even that busy when I went so it’s not really excusable. Won’t return to this establishment sadly 1/5.

Popped in for breakfast this morning, Monday 16th Dec,the young lady who took my order at the bar certainly did not have any customer service skills,no good morning,no thank you,no manners,poor front of house service for weatherspoons.

First time at this weatherspoons and yes it was value as expected. Does not have the usually history to the building but it is a breat location if you are travelling. Food slightly below the norm but I think this was due to the staff being very busy

Ambience atmosphere with easy booking in each table, with laptop/mobile charger option in each table, situated inside New street station makes as first option to get refresh and discussions.

Don't order online it took 45 mins to get quicker to go bar staff are not nice the worse spoons I been too how can Liverpool train station get it right and that be so bad

I visited today and normally I never have a problem. I made a complaint about the chicken wings I ordered and when the staff member informed the kitchen leader (james Bellingham) I saw him being rude and having a attitude towards his staff. I get everyone was stressed as it was so busy but for him to treat his staff with the attitude he had was disgusting I saw it a few times throughout my visit. Tash was lovely tho and sorted out my complaint straight away. Overall it was a nice visit apart from the rudeness from james.

Food is really good. Service Team is friendly, but the Gents toilet was a disaster. Overflowing toilets, no soap. The service staff in the room were not interested at all. Not even after pointing it out

Nice comfortable pub, lovely decor depicting location past and present, lovely pint of Abbott - barmaid pulled it through before serving checking the colour before pouring... Great service, toilets both male and according to my wife female toilets also spotless - will return Ps even though really busy, Friday 10.30 staff doing a really good job 👍🏻👏🏻

Its a "spoons" ... so several real ales on handpull at lower prices (ta !) and right in the middle of the train station. Busy, of course, but still okay to get served quickly and stand drinking/chatting.

Went here at lunchtime today. It was busy & the meals were stacking up on the kitchen service area. Some customers started shouting that their food had been sat there for a while, which it had, but there was only one waitress who was actually serving people, but she was so slow and looked half asleep. There were other staff members who could have helped but they were busy staring into space and contemplating life. The other servers only stepped into help when customers started complaining but, by that time, everything had gone cold. We could see our food waiting on the shelf for a while and then asked if we could take it but a waitress said I’m bringing it to you now (she was polite). The food was OK but we were far too hungry to care about enjoying it. We usually love Wetherspoons but this one is not great at all.

Good food spoilt by the manager (John) who came to me to be rude because his supervisors was watching me and felt he had to prove a point.

i ordered chicken instead of the non chicken and simply asked the manager to replace it but idk if he was having a rough day or what but he seems to catch an attitude quick. I asked him to use his discretion and swap it but he was adamant and said he wouldn’t for no reason. It was a posh white manager with moles on his face who wouldn’t give me his name. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone as the workers are lacking customer service.

Way too noisy to enjoy our time there with people shouting and behaving badly. We only stayed for one drink. A number of people should have been asked to leave.

The food arrived cold the staff were not very helpfull or polite espeacialy the freaky weardo looking girl with the multi coloured hair with the blobs of ink all over her,she doesnt appear to be very hygenic in anyway and is ignorant thats why ive given no stars. May use it again only to get out of the rain .

Worst Wheterspoon's pub I've ever been. Dirty place, people serving tables with unfriendly faces and manners, 30 minutes waiting for a simple brownie after claiming twice for it... My experience with this chain of pubs is overall good but this one is terrible. Never here again.

Always like having a cheet after work drink here from time to time. Natasha at the Wetherspoons is one hell of a work horse! One of the quickest workers I’ve seen! Non- stop glass collecting, clearing tables, moving tables, serving food! Had to tell her! All in all a good place to drink.

There was no music playing, giving the place more of a calm, almost dull vibe.Most things were self-service, from ordering to getting drinks, which could be convenient if you prefer that, but it might feel impersonal to some. The food was average—nothing particularly memorable, but it gets the job done if you're looking for something basic. The best part about this Wetherspoons is the affordability; the prices are very reasonable, making it a decent spot if you’re on a budget.Overall, it’s not a bad place if you want a quick, no-frills meal, but don’t expect anything too exciting or lively.

Absolutely disgusting went there Thursday afternoon, there was a homeless man who brought a refill drink, minding his business. Then the female approached the table various times, then obviously the homeless guy asked why you keep approaching. Then mr angry appeared thick set, glasses, and he pushed the guy. Thwts assault no need to of pushed him.

Poor service. Rather than serve me they went round bar collecting glasses & cups, as in rush, I left.

Went for a breakfast, plates are cold food is half cold, weren't even sure the beans had been cooked. Tea selection was breakfast, everyday or nothing. Won't even say this is just this location as it seems to be a Weatherspoons staple experience

We needed a quick takeaway breakfast and natasha was brilliant. From the get go she was so bubbly and happy and very helpful with my mom's 101 questions 🤣 Food was really nice and filling. Definitely recommend

Slow Service and they forgot to make my burger plain

Lovely scenery, great app, staff are a bit hit or miss, mostly hit. The long time staff there are lovely. As it’s a busy place, you probably will have to clean the table yourself. Booths are few but great for working from and have plug sockets. Nice place to people watch.

Standard spoons, slightly more expensive than the other ones in Birmingham

Food is always served quickly with no problems, drinks service incredibly slow especially using the app on a morning - at least 3 occasions were I’ve had to leave as drinks never showed up before needed to head to get a train, when you ask staff they don’t seem to care. Early morning service is the worst.

Food was lovely and lovely pub only bad thing about is chefs not wear hair nets all beards nets and lady keep more hair with hand and cooking food without wash hands very unsafe food hygiene

Today's experience has been beyond shocking. Ordered a breakfast muffin, and after a 30mins wait, received a plate of cold food. It was clear that the food had been sitting on the side for a while before being brought to the table, which raises serious food safety concerns. When asked about it, the service staff jovially said they'd get one remade asap, then proceeded to bring back the same plate of food 10mins later - unheated but now extra air dried as it's clearly been left under a heat lamp. Though somehow, a hash brown found its way onto the plate. Wonderful, thanks for the consolation prize. Everywhere has their good and bad days, and that's ok. Also, I fully appreciate that this is a Wetherspoon's and not the Ritz. But irrespective of setting, what isn't ok is treating another human being like they've got room temperature IQ. Demeaning and unnecessary. What also isn't ok is being dishonest. All I was asking for was to receive what I had paid for, cooked to the standard that befits Spoon's quality control - nothing more, nothing less. And if cold food and fobbing off customers are the standard, then happy to revise my rating to 5/5. It's a shame because I do stand behind Spoon's no frills ethos. But what we got today was a place that seemed to confuse no frills with poor standards. Tl;dr: Stick to the beer. *** A dependable pint and a burger and chips. It does what it says on the tin. The only issue was the food arrived luke warm and the onion rings a bit soggy. However, considering the place is quite understaffed, the team did a bang on job in keeping up with demand.

Tables full of cutlery.. App didn't work to order.. No wraps in to have.. Randoms collecting cups and glasses.. Weren't that full gone down since first opening.. Need more staff No coffee machines working

Manager saved the day after grumpy wait staff shouted at me for asking how long food will take. Silly person did it in front of their manager, who kindly refunded my meal and gave me a free drink. Thank you! Much appreciated manager 😊

Had a quick bite here before a show as was conveniently in the train station. Unfortunately, although it was busy and the atmosphere was nice, the table was dirty and sticky, the staff grumpy and the food was below even the standard I set for a Whetherspoons (which is low based on others I’ve dined in). The chips tasted like the oil hadn’t been changed on a while. I wouldn’t rush back here and we managed to be out within 20 minutes of our food arriving.

Really annoyed with the attitude of the staff in here ive been coming in here several days a week for a couple of weeks spending anywhere between £5 and £50 each time The attitude of the staff is disgusting when youve paid for all day hot drinks they look at you like youre a demon that needs exorcising out the door when youve been there for longer than an hour routinely keep on seeing homeless people being kicked out of here also. but no i dont expect to be treated in this way myself as a paying customer id appreciate being left alone and not hurried out of the door when im spending money

Stopped here waiting for a train with friends after a charity event last night. Friend ordered online for food and 4 drinks. Waited 10 mins for food which was ok but almost 20 min for drinks whilst several staff stood talking by the looks of it. Enquired where drinks were and told we couldn't have them without a receipt. Showed her my friend's phone with the order number and that still wasn't acceptable. Friends almost missed an already delayed train home because staff were being obstructive. All they needed to do was their job and deliver the drinks to the table in the first place!! Worst experience so far for sure! Will think again before heading here again. Briar Rose is far better and cheaper too from the look of it too.

A relatively new addition to the 'spoons family right next to Birmingham New Street Station. All lights and sparkly things with lots of glass makes it a very different proposition to your regular 'spoons. I saw the review about the state of the customers, but when we were there it just seemed to be full of normal travellers including men and women in business attire. It's a free house so it is open to everyone. The staff were lovely and I had a wonderfuly funnyl chat with a couple over the artwork in the pub. The Guinness was excellent as was the Doom Bar.

Went for breakfast at 8am Sunday morning had a full English. The beans had bean microwaved and gone cold and clumpy. And the rest of the meal was cold. I was very disappointed because I have had food there before and it was lovely

Came here for a quick lunch with my family. For a relatively new pub it was disappointing inside to be welcomed by lots of dirty tables, also seemingly it is set up for solo travellers and there were only a few tables for 4 with the vast majority being tables for 2 Food and drinks ordered on the app and came very quickly, food was a good quality and good value Let down by the messy tables

A really good Wetherspoons with the usual lots of choice of ales, beers and alcholic beverages at very sensible prices. It always seems busy when we visit and there is a real buzz around the place. The table service ordering from the app works well and is very useful when its busy around the bar area.

The manager was extremely helpful myself and my grandaughters were very impressed. Food and drinks were excillent.

Popped in for a couple of beers with friends after getting off the train. Busy but not packed, got a plush booth seat overlooking the steps. Beer choice was good and the ones we chose were well kept, and last but not least the service was excellent.

Everything you would expect from a Wetherspoon quick service and meals were tasty great outside seating area which curved around the outside giving you an elevated view from out side the station

I like the place for a beer after work not a problem with that The only thing I don’t like is I don’t use the app I like to order at the bar but app users still get served first There was 7 people at the bar all serving staff were doing orders not a fan of this method maybe I’m old fashioned

One of the better Spoons in Birmingham, nice interior & quick service. Useful when you're waiting for a train, otherwise I'd recommend going to the other Spoons, The Dragon Inn in Chinatown as the price per pint is significantly cheaper 👀

Always busy; always great service and the price of the food and drink is spot on. Just don't expect Michelin star level for what you pay There's a good selection of choose from, some prices include a drink. We purchased everything at the table via the app - it works really well.

A place for drinks that serves breakfast It's a typical pub, but be careful when selling it in the morning. Approximately 7 pounds including breakfast and drinks. Considering UK prices, the price is pretty good. Breakfast includes bread, sausage, bacon, fries, and beans. And mashed potatoes are provided. Personally, I like bacon the best among these. Of course, exactly as I think It's not like fried bacon, but The salty taste is milder than expected, so it's okay. The store is clean and has many tables. It's pretty good for a comfortable meal. Ordering is done at the table. This is a system where you pay in advance at the time of ordering. You can self-serve unlimited drinks if you give them a cup. If you want an English breakfast in the morning I think it would be okay to visit once. The location is also good as it is located near the station. This is what English breakfast tastes like.

The Quorn curry was described as having 8 pieces/nuggets. Only 5 arrived. When this was pointed out ,was rectified.But 3 more friend pieces just thrown on top -not in sauce. No apology
