We had family meal for 16 quests, upstairs. Fantastic restaurant with beautiful decor, great atmosphere, delicious food and outstanding service!!!We felt very welcome and well-looked after.!We loved everything about this restaurant! Thank you The Lokanta!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !!

Turkish food made right. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Comfortable seating, fresh and heartwarming atmosphere, and great music. A must visit for Turkish food.

We booked the upstairs private dining area for my grandsons 16th birthday. The restaurant decor is very nice but unfortunately that’s where the good ends! We arrived at 7pm and at 8:45 we were still asking where is our food! Bear in mind this was a Tuesday evening and the restaurant downstairs was not busy at all! The staff were argumentative and made excuse after excuse! When the food finally arrived it was luke warm…..I can’t comment on everyone’s food (party of 20) but mine was flavourless (I had the prawn main)……thank god for salt and pepper! Overall a very underwhelming experience and I would not book here again! Pera across the road is 100% better! I will add that there was no service charge added on our bill of £700+ but I think that’s probably because I told the staff we wouldn’t be paying it! **In response to your reply** Firstly, our orders were taken at 7:45 NOT 8:30…..I went outside the restaurant after placing my order and made a phone call which is logged at 7:51! Yet again, excuses! Yes a couple of the guests ordered later but the majority of the party were there at 7! Reviews are meant to be truthful so it doesn’t help when you fabricate a response to make yourselves look better On that basis, we will not be returning!

Had a birthday dinner for my son in the private dining area the place was nice aesthetically but the service was so slow a poor and it ruined the evening. When we mentioned this staff became very defensive as opposed to apologising. Food came Out at all different times and even forgot Some ones food who had to eat after everyone else. I don’t think this place is equipped for large parties

Mother’s Day 25 31/3 2nd visit reduced from 5* to 3*. 4/6 of us arrived on time, it was quick to get menu’s but trying to get drinks order taken took 25 mins and I walked up to staff station to get some attention. The Pimms Spritz was weak..you could not taste pimms…they didn’t offer any fresh juices, and just twinnings style tea’s… Then when we eventually placed food order the delay between starter (just a couple of flatbread & hummus) was long, I even started clearing the table staff were not attentive! The mains came eventually, my vegan stew was too oily, making it hard to enjoy. The wait to get staff to clear tables again too long so I started scraping plates down and piling them up …then the staff came to finish. There was no checking in to see if food was ok, if we needed more drinks..so poor. When the table was cleared we ordered another drink but asked for two plates of Baklava at the same time as we had only 30 mins left on our 2.5 hour allocated reservation….the drink came but no Baklava and after 30 mins my husband settled the bill and cancelled Baklava. The bill (close to £300) must have included service charge and I personally would have refused to have paid that! So lucky for them I didn’t see the bill. All in all, the family enjoyed time together for Mother’s Day, would we ever return or recommend…absolutely no chance! Dec 23 had been given a 5 star rating and we looked forward for an occasion to return.

Outstanding Service and Delicious Food at The Lokanta! We visited The Lokanta on March 1st for a birthday celebration with a group of 15, and the experience was fantastic from start to finish. One of our guests has an egg and nut allergy, and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate this, making the celebration even more special. The service was outstanding—attentive, friendly, and efficient. The food arrived hot and on time, and the menu catered to everyone, including vegans, vegetarians, meat-eaters, and those with dietary restrictions. The effort put into ensuring safe and delicious options for all was truly impressive. Overall, a wonderful experience, and we wouldn’t hesitate to return. Highly recommend The Lokanta!

visited Lokanta last night for dinner having visited some time ago and remembering loving it (and the breads!) and it was one of the best meals and services had in a long time. We had the taster menu for two and I couldn't fault anything! Plus we were stuffed! The dips selections and breads (for someone who loves that!) in itself was amazing! the service was also faultless- quick, friendly and always looking to check everyone was okay, not just us but throughout the whole restaurant. Its rare recently to find somewhere like that and the little touches such as the young male server seeing we were preparing to leave and going ahead to get the door to personally say goodbye was lovely! This is still a real gem in Beckenham and I will definitely be coming back again.

Took my aunt and grandmother here, a Turkish restaurant suitable for the elders in Beckenham area. The food portion was filling. However I think the restaurant needs to work on their customer service; not very attentive. Miss communications around ordering a mock-tail but received a cocktail. Overall food was flavorful, the ambiance was subtle. I would visit again.

I come here with friends on the weekend and I am coealic and I told the waitress this and asked about the menu as it stated if it says g then it contains gluten but we can adapt if you need to.. which I thought was great... so had the shish with chips.. asked the waitress again so this is gluten free as if It contains gluten I will be really ill... she said no problem it is gluten free... also had pudding to be told this was gluten free also... paid and left.. I was literally 10 mins from home when I got the most severe stomach pains and just made it home where I was sick and on toilet... I know I had been glutened as I know the symtoms but please gove your staff training or the chefs training on gluten free as even using the same fryer for chips us coaelics can get very ill.. I will not be returning and I did find the food and drink very overpriced and food wise foe what it is as definitely have had much better food taste wise it was very bland and wouldn't recommend especially if you have an allergy.

Everything about this venue was great! The ambiance, the decor, the food and the staff were all brilliant. I had the Veg Mousaka with a lovely Turkish chopped salad. First visit for me but I will be recommending to friends and family and will be back soon for the cheesecake!

We were there for lunch time deal but were disappointed as they dropped the deal due to Valentine’s Day!! There was no sign outside to warn us either! We only found out when we sat down! So we ordered the mixed grill which tasted ok but was only a small amount! We were 3 adults and the mixed grill was for 4 people! It was only enough for 2! The sides were very small and we were charged a service charge! Overall we spent £100 for 3 people and didn’t get full! My advice is not to go for mixed grill! I would not visit again! We also ordered hummus, which looked like it was from Tesco!

Had my 30th birthday dinner here last night and it was amazing. The food, drinks and staff were lovely, the red meat was so soft and tasteful 👌🏻Would like to thank the manger Ayhan for looking after us and making our night one to remember. Will definitely be coming back

It was my first experience at the Lokanta. Decor and atmosphere were great! We received our starters, which were great. The main took quite long time to arrive, at some point one of the waitress asked us if we are sharing the main course, we stated no, however we found it strange. My friend main course arrived, and after 10mins of waiting for mine I asked what is happening, the waitress, who initially took an order, she did not pass my order to the kitchen - not sure how is that possible as when she was checking what I ordered , it was written down on her paper. She asked me with an attitude what did I order, so I just pointed at her paper. Food arrived after additional 20mins, I was not hungry at this point so I packed it in a take away box. The waitress didn’t apologise, but gave an impression it is my fault - LADY HOW?! Another waitress came, apologised and offered a glass of Prosecco on the house.

Such a nice & cute restaurant with lovely staff. Lovely lady recommended me apple & cinammon tea which was delicious. Also had the best calamari and chicken wings. Atmosphere feels like I am in Greece too - definitely recommend!

My partner and I went for our anniversary dinner and we loved it and said we'd come back before leaving. The cocktails are FABULOUS!!!!! The decor is so stunning. The food is super yummy. The staff are very friendly too. Overall, a great place for good food and a good time.

Had my birthday celebration at TheLOKANTA with a group of friends. The service was amazing from the reservation until the end. The restaurant manager was particularly patient and cooperative . The food was great!

Oh my goodness!!! I literally felt like I was abroad not sitting in a restaurant on Beckenham High St, the staff were friendly, respectful & attentive. The drinks 10/10 the lychee martini the best I’ve had with elegance & class it was served with prettyness. Now the food, we all love med grill but this place had our jaws dropping with every course that was served, the starters were delicious, the mains were also delicious with great flavours, generous portion & topped with the best presentation. Thank you so much to the chef and all the staff that waited on us and made us feel relaxed and comfortable even though we were still there way past closing time. Definitely going back x

Delicious food at The Lokanta in Beckenham. Amazing options for vegetarians and vegans and also plenty of gluten free options. The portion sizes were fantastic and the service was just wonderful. The team were attentive, friendly and went the extra mile. Great knowledge of the menu too. The ambience is lovely and you feel instantly transported to the med with lovely decor and I loved the background music too. My friends and I will certainly be back! Thank you for such a warm and pleasant welcome to the area! £35 pp, starter and mains with alcoholic beverages.

My husband and I had a lovely evening. Atmosphere is relaxed and food great. Service from the older gentleman was 10/10 he really knows his craft and looked after us brilliantly. The loss of 1 star for service is because the younger male waiters were somewhat less on the ball, placing the plate of food down and off they ran not asking if we would like anything else ie sauce/condements, we had to wait to get someone’s attention to call them over! Overall, however, I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this place, try the kibbeh it’s delicious.

From start to finish everything about The Lokanta was brilliant. The menus were clean, staff attentive and besides a gorgeous interior, it was also clean and tidy. The table was a little wobbly and without prompt it was fixed (not with a wedge of cardboard but using a mechanism without the table leg). Between courses, plates were cleared and the table cleaned out properly. The menu itself was easy to read and was clean. There is plenty of food options, even for vegetarian and vegan eaters. Once we ordered food arrived in good time. All the dishes were seasoned perfectly and presented with care and attention to detail.

Very beautiful unique restaurant and the food is amazing. I will return and I would recommend the stuffed aubergine and I would have it with bulgar instead of white rice. Great value for money and very good and friendly service.

This was our third visit to this delightful and buzzing restaurant. The service is always friendly and the food delicious. The red wine suggested by our waitress was the Montepulciano. Excellent.

Let's start with the food. Amazing food. The portions are generous and the quality is great. It's well presented and flavoursome. There were so many items i wanted to order! The service is efficient and pleasant, i can't say anything bad about it. The atmosphere of the place is also refreshing. It feels like you're on holidays and you're all relaxed to enjoy the food and drinks even more! 10/10 would god there again!

Had parked close by to go to a different restaurant but as we walked past, Lokanta looked really inviting. Had an excellent meal. The service was very good and it was good value for money. Will be back.

Decor and ambiance is really nice, felt like you were on holiday (although would have loved it if they had real plants rather than fake ones however this is probably just a personal preference!). Starters were amazing, we were really impressed! Cocktails were great too (you get a good amount for your money). However the main course (mixed grill) was quite disappointing and found that the food was very bland. I’m really hoping the restaurant makes some changes to the grilled menu and add more flavour and seasoning as I would love to come back!!

Lovely staff food was lovely, we had the £64 mixed grill for 4 people but the portions where so tiny to buy extras for the kids. It also didn't come with salad like most Turkish restaurants had to order that as extra aswell. Loved this drink they made me.

A lovely restaurant situated in the heart of Beckenham, serving great Mediterranean food and at a reasonable price. The service was second to none, and the restaurant was very welcoming.

The place looks great and it was 31c when we went so felt very Mediterranean. Overall the food was reasonable. Cocktail was way too sweet Lychee Martini but it did say that so my fault for ordering. I would go again but do not expect anything super special.

Our first time here and I don’t think it will be our last. The staff were lovely, the restaurant is lovely, the food was also lovely, the only improvement is the food could have been hotter but it was so well presented and tasted lovely. . . How many times have I said the word lovely 🫣

I first visited for my birthday in March 2023, loved it, great setting, friendly staff and delicious food and cocktails - my fav Margaritas. Have been back around 5 times with my family since and never disappoints, in my eyes best Turkish in Beckenham

The place looks lovely, I have been planning to come here for ages. It was mine and my partners anniversary, I have never written a review before because I work in hospitality and I fully understand that things cannot always be up to an okay standard. The food was nice, except from my lamb shank, the taste was bland and the presentation was horrible, but non of that would’ve been a problem if it wasn’t for the staff. After calling the waitress over to let her know that we are done with the food we have decided to make the day a bit better with some limoncello, when asking the waitress she replied they do not do anything like that (I was personally able to see from my table 4 bottles being displayed at the bar), but we said no problem and I had to get up to pay the bill because the waitress was not interested at all. After spending £120 (which I assume included service as well that I never received) that’s when the waitress herself mentioned that I have left the whole plate of food and asked if something was wrong with it, I replied that I’m very sorry but I really did not like the lamb shank - not that I expected anything from that statement as the bill was paid and I personally did not bother to complain because nobody checked back on us, but what was outrageous is that I didn’t even get an apology. Again, at that point we were so outraged but in a funny way - I personally stood up and went to the bar area to ask for the limoncello - and paid with the waitress who claimed they didn’t have any. £140 for an hour of the worst service I have ever received, won’t return and I suggest nobody with a special occasion does either as much as lovely the place looks.

Such a cute little restaurant. The interior is absolutely beautiful. The staff were very attentive and friendly. We ordered 6 cold and 6 hot mezes to share and was about £18 each which is a good value and filled us up quite well. The only thing was the music. They must really enjoy Charlie Puth as he was playing on a loop for 3 hours with a few songs in between.

Nice restaurant and staff seem very nice but please be careful if you have food allergies. My friend has a nut allergy and I put this down when I made the booking. We ordered our starters and almost immediately she started to have an allergic reaction. It turned out, after speaking with the staff, that there are nuts in the sauce served with the calamari. It didn’t state this on the menu despite them having an allergy list for the food. We had to leave quite quickly to get to A&E. Overall, it could have been a lovely meal but be very careful.

Whilst the restaurant is very pretty and the food tasted good, I ended up having a bad experience at Lokanta. I ended up in A&E after suffering an allergic reaction to the Calamari starter as nowhere in the menu did it mention the sauce had nuts in despite my friend stating I had a nut allergy when booking. This needs to be fixed urgently to prevent it happening to someone else.

It was absolutely high level quality. We will come back again with my wife. She was so happy and miaw.

Lovely place on the highstreet. I ordered calamari for £7(?) And you only get 3 pieces, however it is delishous. The lunchtime 2 meal deal is good price and main was also lovely. There was only 2 waiters though and it was a busy day I just felt bad for how much rushing around they were doing! Did amazing for just the 2 though!

Booked the room upstairs for a private function, excellent service and food.

Held a family party here in the upstairs room. Excellent service, no fuss over special meals and good food. Upstand is decorated just as well as downstairs. Mo problem recommending Lokanta.

This spot is pretty. The server was not amused as we had two kids with us. The food came in stages, some had finished before others. The restaurant was almost empty! The food was ok. Large helpings.

It was a good piece of salmon I would have wanted it a bit more seasoned however I had salt and pepper to add. The spinish sauce was very nice 5/5 Others had the rice and chicken most people liked it In generally they allowed us to bring a PhotoBooth that is small and we also took our own cake and cupcakes. Beautiful private dining area, an oasis away from the hustle and bustle of the high street, feels like you are on holiday! Wonderful food with generous portions and equally delicious desserts. All guests said the mains were excellent, we had the party set menu options. Ayhan was accommodating and communicated effectively from start to finish of planning my special day. Thank you!

I had a lovely meal with my girlfriend the other night. The mezes were great, but left me little space for the main curse. I had the shepherd’s lamb and it was delicious. Wished I would have stayed on the mezes. The background music was super relaxing and the lighting and everything comfortable. The tables were on the small side. Lovely service, but at times they were busy.

I was kindly invited into this marvellous Turkish restaurant by one of the very lovely owners. So I asked for a mixed selection of Meze for one.. I thought it would be a small plate . I was astounded when a very large plate of the most wonderful food I have ever came. This was enough for three people. Well I must say that I almost finished this brilliant Meze. Was not totally happy when I received the bill. I had two very thirstquenching Turkish beers. I would highly recommend this stupendous restaurant in Beckenham Village. Derek

I am really surprised to see so many positive reviews about the staff. I recently celebrated the birthday of my friend at this restaurant, and unfortunately, our experience was ruined by the unbelievably passive-aggressive attitude of the staff members. From the moment we walked in, we were met with an unwelcoming attitude that persisted throughout the entire meal. We constantly felt like we were inconveniencing them by being there. When we tried to ask for a vase for flowers, or at least a big glass, we were told, "We don't have vases, and glasses are for cocktails." 🙄 The staff pushed the chair of my friend three times as they passed by. They never offered new drinks and once tried to remove not finished cocktails. In the end, they asked, "What do you want us to do with the rest of the food?" When we replied that we were still eating and chatting, they dropped a box for the food on our table. We left feeling frustrated, vowing never to return to such a toxic environment again. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this restaurant at all costs.

Tastiest food, served with a smile, and we wasn’t rushed out of here considering we was the last group to leave on a Saturday at 11:30pm. Will most certainly be returning.

If you're in Beckenham and want something other than Italian food, you've got to come here. Food seemed a bit pricey at first, but we got a mixed platter of hot starters and the portions were more than generous.

We went in at a quiet time so can't fully gage the atmosphere however it was very clean and the drinks and food we had were lovely.

My daughter took me here a week ago as a Birthday treat and we had a lovely time. The service was excellent as well as the food. We will definitely go back.

Had a surprisingly underwhelming experience given the great food at their nearby sister restaurant. Sirloin steak was bland, as was the runny peppercorn sauce. Also, the moodlighting which changed colour every five seconds was distracting. Malbec was decent.

We had a really mixed evening at the restaurant. I had booked a table for my husbands birthday and we were all looking forward to it. The food - when it came - was nice but the service was appalling. We had to call staff over to even order drinks, which then took ages to come. We had to then wait about 50 minutes for our main courses to arrive. The restaurant was very busy but that is not an acceptable excuse for poor service. We had a table by the door. There is a gap between the window in the entrance area and the wall, and every time someone arrived or the restaurant, we were hit with a blast of very cold air. This just added to an underwhelming experience, and is something which could very easily be fixed. Not sure we will be back.

Lovely family meal - shared hot mezze starters - fabulous spread and extremely tasty and then I had the Forest Chicken Stew which was absolutely delicious; would really recommend. The others in our group had the Kofte which were also lovely. Staff very friendly and the service was just right. Yoga later in the afternoon was a challenge following such a lovely meal!

The place was very very busy, staff very friendly but a bit slow as it was so busy, thd food was very very good and the atmosphere was buzzing.. would visit again.

Delicious food and attentive service

I went yesterday with two friends and absolutely loved it! Such a pretty interior, very cosy and relaxing atmosphere, the food was delicious and, my main reason for leaving a review today, the service was amazing! :) a really lovely and friendly team that were always in the look out to make sure everything was good and overall a really lovely experience. Will definitely go again soon.
