Went to a christening and buffet back at Loft...absolutely disgraceful ...not enough food to go around....children and adults went without My friends and family will never go there again

I visited The Loft today for Sunday lunch with family members and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The staff were welcoming and the food was excellent.I will definitely return in near future

Wow..what an amazing venue. Food is amazing and the service is first class. They always make you feel so welcome. Prices have gone up a little since refit. However still quality and still warm and welcoming.

Lovely place, absolutely gorgeous outside. Burger would be better on a plate though lol.

Went to the Loft today as it had changed Sunday dinner from a carvery to table service. It did not disappoint. We did not have starters but for mains I had the beef dinner and my partner the turkey. Both were cooked to perfection. It was great that you did not have to pay for the cauliflower cheese as an extra. For dessert we had the tiramisu which was home made and excellent . This was a delicious Sunday roast at a great price in a great venue. We will definitely be back.

Went there in July ...totally disappointed Not enough food for the buffet ....kids and adults myself included didnt have nothing ... Will not go there again

Had an evening meal here last night, what can I say.... Staff were very pleasant and helpful, the food was absolutely delicious & very reasonably priced, great little place tucked away with lovely grounds to sit out, relax & enjoy the view.....

Very disappointed with the quality of the food could only eat half of my meal the batter on the fish was so hard I could not cut it with my knife and the peas were also very hard I could not eat them it's a no from me I won't be going back there again for a meal

The food was amazing, staff were very good but it was limited what they could do as there wasn't enough staff so we had to wait for drinks and to be served our lunch, hence the 4 stars not 5. Having said that, their attention to detail was excellent. I have a dietary condition and they double-checked everything.

Went for a Father’s Day meal. It was lovely! Reasonably priced, delicious carvery and lovely staff. Good baby changing facilities and well supported high chairs. Will be returning for sure.

Since we visited last , the Loft has been refurbished and I think new ownership . They have introduced a set menu which really is excellent and great value. Jade our waitress was lovely, so pleasant, smiley and overall made our experience even better . My Mother had her first burger in 89 years !

Food was nice but nothing special for price I had burger and chips they could of given bit side salad

Over an hours wait for any food. Bread (which took over an hour to arrive) was massively overpriced and consisted of the smallest of dry bread roles cut in to 4 x 1.5cm thick slices for £8! Not a single main meal was good: Steak and chips - the chips were raw! (How do you even manage that?!) Duck - meat was chewy and the sauce was incredibly salty (and I don’t mean slightly salty, it was overwhelming and inedible) Asparagus overcooked Dauphinoise potatoes absolutely nuked and inedible Risotto - bland mush that was inedible The fish was raw (yes, raw!) I can honestly say this is the single worst eating experience I have EVER had. Even more insulting given the price. Please heed the poor reviews on trip advisor and avoid this place like the plague. Consider yourselves warned!

Stopped for lunch on a rainy day and the food was great and very well priced on the set menu. Nice location and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant area is a bit soulless but it was quiet when we were there so don't take this at face value. All in all a really nice lunch.

The lady that was serving the meat for the Sunday carvery, really didn't want to be there ..funnily we all said about her..so miserable 😫

I booked for a Sunday lunch for 25 family and friends as a surprise anniversary meal. From contacting Samantha for the booking to the day itself, it was perfect. So accommodating and helpful. The staff on the day were also pleasant and helpful and let me decorate the tables and also supplied a table for the cake. The waiting staff, ones serving the carvery were all fantastic! The food was fantastic, we had three courses and everyone thoroughly enjoyed and all commented on the quality of the meals and the friendliness of the staff. I cannot thank you enough for making it a day to remember, and I know there are new owners, so please continue to offer this standard of food and service and you can't go wrong!! A perfect day, thank you all.

Been coming here for years with the dogs! The last week I have been here 3 days in a row and haven’t been disappointed! The food has been outstanding and so has the atmosphere… great meal twice this week and went once for drinks with the dogs. Perfect venue and always leave feeling relaxed!

Great venue fabulous food A step above other restaurants in this area and a little bit more expensive but you are paying for quality. We didn’t have starters but for main course we both had monkfish and it was excellent. We had lemon posset for desert and it was delicious. A great venue with top quality food and a great menu.

A mixed bag really. Really nice decor and impeccable service by the staff but it was very cold where we sat. The food was ok but flattered to deceive - starters and desserts good, mains very average.

A shambles of a restaurant! I booked a festive carvery for 9 people at 2 pm, there were no starters left only soup, even though the restaurant was only half full and many more came in after us. When they came to take our order for starters they didn’t have, we asked could we order our desserts then in case they ran out of those too, which we did. The carvery was any 2 of beef, Turkey or ham plus veg. Not very good. When they came to bring the desserts, they’d runout of 3 even though we booked it before our main course!! The staff were young and didn’t know what they were doing. Needless to say I won’t go again.

Went out for birthday meal with my friend and we were greeted like royalty. Lovely restaurant well decorated for Xmas. Waitress Jade was very patient and helpful and meal of Xmas menu was exceptional. Huge portions of food and very reasonable. Mouth watering turkey dinner for mains and huge Nutella waffle for desert. The other waiters were helpful and the little waiter with curly hair was always as making sure we were ok. Very professional service. I will definitely come again.

Fabulous food ,fantastic food, and awesome staff

A Mish mash of experience with the food. Some was lovely others were really bad and had to go back to the kitchen to be replaced. That staff were great the person in charge was lovely.

We had been to the Loft before because it was a dog friendly venue and had been impressed and satisfied. This occasion was a family anniversary, again with our dogs, and we were not disappointed. Highly recommended.

The Loft is absolutely beautiful. The staff are friendly, the service is fast and the atmosphere is beautiful. I had the Nutella Waffle for dessert yesterday evening and it was absolutely beautiful. But it was very rich.

Lovely coffee, nice friendly staff, only had coffee and tea cake which was lovely after our walk, and their dog friendly indoors now , which is great and makes a massive difference with our Welsh weather. The gardens are exquisitely done, always so beautiful, the colours are amazing this time year.

Food average at best. Staff over busy but nice restaurant

The surroundings are lovely and can’t fault cleanliness , we had an excellent waitress shame we didn’t get her name but she was professional polite and couldn’t do enough to help. Unfortunately the food was not as good , very poor quality with poor presentation. £15 for a bowl of unappetising sloppy lasagne and two small pieces of garlic bread not a bit of green or garnish insight well below par for the price . Would I go back probably not food just didn’t hit the mark which is such a shame .

Absolutely fabulous place, lovely warm welcome, really great staff, who were friendly and attentive but not overly so. Really delicious well cooked food with plenty of options for everyone. Great decor, really beautifully done, with little sayings dotted about, quirky lights and comfy seats. Good mix of music playing in the background. Will definitely be back, a little hidden gem. Ooo and dog friendly, perfect 🐶

Nice food and a great surrounding. There's a good selection of drinks and the food was prompt and delicious.

We attended here as a large family group to celebrate my 70th birthday. It was very quiet despite it being a Saturday lunchtime and perhaps I can see why. Meals were average at best. My wife had a steak that was as tough as old boots. Three of us had the lamb shank that was relatively tasteless and served with gravy rather than the promised red currant jus. The beer battered fish were overcooked and would have been better served with home cooked chips. The risotto was just a mush and the oven baked hake fillet portion was tiny. Some of our family had travelled a long way for the occasion and frankly we were disappointed. We had chosen this restaurant because we had enjoyed very good meals there a few years ago but sadly it has gone downhill and we couldn’t recommend it now.

Absolutely amazing Sunday lunch. Very delicious and the desert was such as good. Service was outstanding and all the staff are second to none. Will 100% be coming back.

What a lovely setting, especially in the sun. Spotlessly clean and the service was great. However, the food was just average. I had the curry, all I could taste was the tomatoes rather than spices. The lack of real chips was also disappointing. I would only ever drinks here next time.

Came for Sunday Carvery with family, was just average tbh for the money. Roast potatoes were like rocks and nearly impossible to cut into, meat was fatty and the lady serving the meat was very blunt and rude - a smile/acknowledgement would be a good start. Will not be returning

Been to The Loft with family a couple of times now. Neither time was we disappointed. The Sunday carvery is lush, with gravy to die for. The desserts were amazing too. We had a mixture of Belgium waffles and lemon tart. We all could have definitely taken extra desserts home. After lunch we went and sat out on the veranda. My niece and nephews were running around on the grass area. They were safe, nowhere near the car park, or a main road and we could see them at all times. We are def having 'family date days' at The Loft again.

Really enjoyed this place, views fabulous, food excellent, service good. Very pleasent and helpful staff. Enjoyed it so much went back a few days later for lunch again. Definitely recommend.

If your a small meal person,order a kid's meal,the portions are huge!

Sadly disappointed, had the loft burger and it was dry, cheese and bacon on top over done like it had been sitting under a grill for to long. Looking at the rest of the table, dishes did not look much better, lasagna slopped in bowl and greasy fish. The only thing I can compliment is the venue and its location, beatiful.

Very disappointing experience. Food was mediocre but child’s sausages arrived burnt to a crisp. My adult meal was also burnt in places. Only nondairy bread available was unpalatable gluten free crusts. Dogs were allowed into main restaurant part, despite having a designated dog friendly area which naturally seemed to be the conservatory area. We sat close to three large, lively and barking dogs. An unpleasant experience, especially when children in my group are extremely nervous of strange dogs. I’m sorry to say that, after many years of enjoying visiting and eating at the Loft, I will not be returning.

Always our go to after a long walk with friends. Inside or out , really dog friendly,even a doggy menu ! Staff always so obliging .

Would not recommend. Turkey was rolled in bacon, turkey was tough and bacon uncooked. Parsnips - two very small pieces which were over cocked, crisp and tasteless. Graveyard was nice so was my waffle. Not value for money. We had preordered so everything should have been perfect.

The quality of the food was great, cooked perfectly and presented well. Only criticism would be that the Serving size could have been a bit bigger.

Went for Sunday lunch as part of a celebration, with my husband, daughter and her boyfriend. The meal was lovely tbf, but the lady cutting and serving the meat was just plain rude. Clearly she needs some lessons in customer services.

Had a very nice meal with my family here. Service was attentive and the premises were clean and well decorated. Food was of a good quality and a family of 6 ate for £180 with two rounds of drinks - 4 had three course, 2 had two. In the day there are very relaxing views and there are plenty of parking spaces in a beautiful location.

Lovely setting and lovely staff. It wasn't that busy and the waiters were quick to serve the food and didn't keep us waiting too long, yet while not causing the evening to feel rushed! The drinks selection was great and always nice to see John Smiths on tap! The menu itself had a lovely range with something for everyone, the king prawns were lovely but could of had more easily. The steak was cooked to my liking and the peppercorn sauce was epic ... however, the "Dauphinoise Potato" was just a small jacket Potato it seemed and the tomatoes were not cooked for long enough. My friend made a comment on the chicken and said it was alittle dry and bland, I did not try this sadly. I did try the Duck Bon Bons, they were lovely but could of done with more actual duck in them. For desert, the Creme Brulee was heavenly, with an actual crack ontop! I will return to try other options ...

Limited menu. Very expensive, and they don't use free range eggs, only eggs from cruelly caged hens. Won't go there again.

Very disappointed, we were a large party of 20 people today ( pre-ordered food). I and a few others had bbq pulled pork burgers. This was a very, very dry beef burger ( like a frozen over, cooked one). And a little serving of dry bbq pulled pork on top. The garlic bread was very soft and undercooked. I didn't eat my burger; nobody asked when clearing the table how the meal was or if there was a reason why I only had one bite. Very overpriced fot a basic dinner. I hate writing bad reviews, but unfortunately, this was awful.

First time coming here for food tonight and omg the food was amazing.. only one criticism (if you can call it that), an extra slice of toast with my pate would have gone down a treat.. apart from that food was lovely

Rushed to table, starter was nice- the only positive I have. I asked if we could have our main 15 mins after starter and was told no as they had a big table booked in! Mains came almost as starters were collected. the waitress was very rude! My steak was over cooked and tough, the sea bass ‘risotto’ was more like Uncle Bens, with a tiny bit of Sea Bass (ok there were some good prawns in the uncle Ben’s rice). I sent my main back and did not get another! My step father had fish and chips which was as £15 all but a few pence, and it was less than a child’s portion. I refused to pay for any main course and actually got a takeaway on the way home as my main course was not good enough for my dog (and I was hungry)! Absolutely dreadful! Tonight I have been to El Pescador, in Swansea- go there if you want a proper good meal/good service. Go to The Loft if you want to eat poor food, be treated badly, feel like a nuisance and pay good money for the privilege!

Chose The Loft for its beautiful setting which didn't disappoint, but a big mix up with our booking did! Unfortunately they need to brush up on their service recovery. Food was also very average too. Hence 3 stars.

The setting is lovely and the restaurant is very well run. The food was nice and they even fed our kids for free. My kids had a lovely time exploring the gardens and the staff were happy for us to do that while waiting for...

Lovely food here and the service was great! It was a hot sunny day when we visited, we was greeted by friendly staff and the wait wasnt to long either. The grounds here are stunning and if you are lucky to be seated in the right area the view is great. The whole place seems very clean I couldn't find anything wrong at all. Some weekends music is played with free entry to this it's a lovely afternoon/evening out.

Easy to reach but secluded, lovely outdoor seating areas, great views across the valley. Large car park. Excellent menu for all tastes, not cheap but you get what you pay for. All six of us had great tasting meals, with delicious desserts. Staff were really nice, very attentive. Would definitely recommend!

Very disappointed I had heard good things about this place we waited 45 to 50 minutes for mains if we had been told it wouldn't have been ideal but at least we would have known, when the thai chicken burger arrived I had been warned that it had a bit of a kick but it was bland all I could taste was chicken and the mango it was a shame.

We love coming to the loft for it's beautiful setting. Unfortunately, the food has gone down hill and was very average. We met the new manager Sarah who was a delight, hopefully , she will make improvements to the menu.

Brilliant food, atmosphere and entertainment.

Had lunch here with my daughter over the Easter weekend. We found plenty of room in the car park and the gardens looked gorgeous with the tulips in bloom. There looked to be a wedding reception going on and we agreed it did look like...

Beautiful food here, went for food with my then 5 year old daughter. Good selection on the menu that night topped off with a lovely selection of top shelf spirits.

Excellent gammon and pineapple for me , brother had chicken and bacon pie and his wife had the salmon Not visited for a while but will be back soon .

found this place just on a pick on map search in the area, booked easily. Turned up it was dark but still lovely surroundings. Lovely decorated bar and lovely portion sizes to food, we ordered more than we could actually eat! Cooked well and flavoursome...

Took my friends for lunch today omg what a beautiful meal we all had something different but it was all amazing Brilliant service, staff made you so welcome and so polite Wonderful service I would definitely recommend The Loft for a meal excellent

Nice sunday dinner don't get me wrong, however, I had to ask for peas, and they didn't do any boiled/mash potatoes, only 2 roasties that came with the dinner, now that's not the norm for me, dinner without both isn't a dinner. Friendly staff though, and a welcoming atmosphere, dinner was nice, but asking for peas and no potatoes is something that I'm not used to.

This was our first visit to The Loft, I had a sirloin steak with dauphinoise potatoes. The steak was absolutely lovely, as were the tomatoes, however the potatoes were slightly undercooked. These were saved, however, by the peppercorn sauce. The burger was a disappointment, as it didn't reach the flavour expectation - being Thai. There are a good amount of options to choose from, including starters, main and dessert. However the service was quite slow, considering there were few people eating. The staff are lovely, accommodating and I felt did actually care about your experience. We will be going back in the summer, to try their summer menu and take in the gorgeous views from their terrace!

Popped in and they managed to seat us. Excellent service, they were apologising for it being slow when it was actually perfectly timed! Lovely staff and have a nice complimentary Christmas drink, lovely touch!

Always had a great meal here even when Covid was ripe and we sat outside under the marquee! Very windy but loved the steak and peppercorn sauce
