Cafe Remo's in Neath Port Talbot

Absolutely scandalous pricing at Remo’s on Aberavon Beach! £39 for two paninis, one juice drink, a dessert, and two scoops of ice cream—daylight robbery. And to top it off, they’re charging over £4 for a 330ml bottle of Coke—ridiculous! 😱 It’s clear they’re taking full advantage of their beachfront location with these inflated prices, knowing there’s little competition nearby. Aberavon Beach desperately needs more cafés and restaurants to give people a fair choice, rather than being forced to pay these extortionate rates. The food was okay, but nothing special to justify the price. Until there’s some proper competition, I won’t be back—no one likes being ripped off.

Excellent food.staff and atmosphere

The place was extremely busy, necessitating a wait for a table, but the staff turned it around pretty efficiently, and there was no sense of being rushed once seated. Service was impressively fast and friendly given how busy they were, and the food itself was great. Prices were quite a lot higher than shown online, but not really unreasonable for a beachfront pub. Limited vegetarian selection, but I'd thoroughly recommend their bean burger meal, and the apple crumble was delicious.

Amazing food. Not the cheapest but well worth it as the quality is amazing 👌. Recommended for all ages. Perfect for a date night. Not got one complaint.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Great coffee and plenty of choice for savoury or deserts. All the ice-cream is handmade and melts in the mouth.

Staff on arrival after asking for a table of 2 were not very welcoming we were also not told to follow to be able to be seated she walked off without saying anything. Once seated we waited 15-20 minutes to just be asked for drinks, while many of the staff didn’t seem very busy. When the food arrived which only took 10 minutes the food was very bland and tasteless considering my friend had a butter chicken curry with soggy chips, I had scampi and chips the scampi were very mushy in the middle and soggy. Not impressed as it’s not relatively cheap either, would not recommend to families with young children.

Very expensive 2 hot chocolates, 1 carton of squash and 1 child's portion beans chips and 1 sausage cost £18. Can't imagine how much a family of 4 would cost to eat a meal. Lovely setting plenty of outside seating.

Stunning little place on seafront must go to when you down the front! Lovely atmosphere. Stunning in the summer. Really nice place food is outstanding. Friendly staff. Can't wait to visit again hopefully before summer and during summer with the weather! Lush. Keep up the good work 👏

I am disappointed with my recent experience at Remos Aberavon. While I have enjoyed dining there in the past, I found the current prices to be excessively high. Additionally, the exclusive requirement for card payments is inconvenient. I noticed that the staff seemed more focused on processing card transactions than assisting customers who wished to pay with cash, which is legal tender. Given the restaurant's location near the beach and its popularity with walkers and other visitors, I believe that accepting cash would be more accommodating. I hope these concerns will be considered for future improvements.

Just had a very tasty and enjoyable Gluten Free Chicken Curry with Rice and Chips (half&half), my wife had Beer Battered Fish and Chips (not GF, but this meal is available Gluten Free too) The menu items that are Gluten Free, are marked (GFA) this includes Burger's, Pizza & Pasta, so there's some good choices. We enjoyed our visit and will be returning again in the future.

My sister who is visiting for a few days at mo from Newbury came with my husband and I to Remos for a lovely meal after a nice stroll along our clean beach. We had lovely meals, 2 had chicken curry with rice and chips, one was gluten free for my husband and I had the beer battered cod and chips with tartare sauce and peas. Well, it was all delicious! I couldnt eat all of mine and was about to ask for a doggy bag to take rest home when Paige the waitress from New York asked as she went past and noticed Id left some would I like something to take rest home. She was a lovely girl, and nothing was any trouble. What service. She asked every time she went past if all was well. And we said yes indeed it was. Really enjoyed it all. Food, atmosphere and service. Thank you.

Decent food, but the prices are extortionate for what you get in comparison to other places! Captive audience, there needs to be more competition. Ordered a plain bowl of penne pasta for a child and got charged £9 for it 🤯

Had a wonderful breakfast sitting overlooking the beach it was lovely way of relaxing before I went back to work. This is the second time I’ve been there and would definitely recommend it. I will have to come back when it’s warmer and try there homemade ice cream

shocked at the bill, it's not a mcDs, and the burger and chips were very tasty, but very expensive, I'll never use it again, as a visitor to the area, it will stop me from coming back, or making sure I pack a large lunch before I head to the beach, I felt ripped off.

Everything perfect as usual but I have one suggestion. When paying there is an option to leave a tip 15% or 20% , or you can customise. What happened to the customary 10%?

Lovely autumn 🍂 day, so we sat outside, food was basic but tasty. Service was excellent, very friendly, loads of outside seating with a sea view.

Great beach location with a very good food and coffee range for a late morning visit. Seems to be a popular location with a relaxed atmosphere. A gingerbread latte and toasted teacake hit the spit just right.

This was our second time eating here. Great food great atmosphere and great service. Very good portions. I had the Chicken Curry half and half and it was excellent. Will definitely return next time we're in Aberavon.

Not dog friendly inside, although you can take your dog in to order. Dogs are allowed at the outside seating, which is to the side of the restaurant so out of the worst of the wind! Food (peppers and chorizo on toast) arrived quickly and tasted great. Good quality door-stop bread.

We love Remo's! * All the staff is professional and friendly. * The atmosphere and seating is comfortable and nice. * But most of all the food is consistently good. We have been coming here for over 10 years and the burgers, lasagne, curry, beef wraps are as good today as they were then. The specials menu is where things rock though! Today we had lamb chops as well as sea bass and it was delicious. The lamb was succulent and tasty. The sea bass was perfectly cooked with a crispy skin and soft flaky inside. Beautifully presented, flavourful and great textures. It is true that prices have risen in past years, but that is true for every restaurant and eatery in the world. The ingredients here are great quality, the portions are generous, and the environment comfortable for couples, singles, families, groups alike. You will not find better in the area!

Have been customer at remos for 6 years plus and always they have consistently provided excellent service, quality of food and drink. Staff are all always so friendly and helpful. I recently found my usual decaf coconut milk cappuccino to taste very different and not enjoyable. After feeding back to a member of staff they immediately informed the manager and they have now reverted back to using the original coconut milk that I always enjoy there! They have really gone the extra mile for customer service and I am very grateful that I can continue my regular coffee morning there. Thank you Remos!!

Over priced and not very nice. We had the fish and chips, the plate was full of grease and the peas were rock hard.

Ruby served us at lunchtime today, and it was a rare pleasure to find a waitress who didn’t interrupt our conversation when approaching the table. In most places, it’s common for waitstaff to interrupt, but Ruby was thoughtful and respectful. We appreciated her consideration so much that we gave her a 20% tip.

Lovely pit stop before a shopping trip to Brigend

Been going here for years but last few times been very disappointed, prices rocketed and food nowhere near as good as it used to be, staff used to be so nice and customer focused but standards have dropped couldn't even get a smile out of the young lady who served us, clearly did not want to be there.

We had a booking here with three friends. A busy place with a varied menu. Our parry ordered fish and chips, a chicken burger. Beef burger and a chicken and rice dish. Good sized portions of cafe style food. We had cheesecake, lemon meringue pie and various ice creams.

Service was very quick and friendly - food was also good quality - only issue was garlic bread was too greasy but menu was very diverse and overall experience was very positive

Lunch out with my wife and her sister from Newbury, I was so pleased that there were Gluten Free options available, so enjoyed the Chicken Curry with Rice and chips, plus a Latte Coffee. Went in for a takeaway drink. Was charged a £2.30 for a single can of Fanta. No glass no ice wasn't even cold..refunded, avoid at all costs..places like this rip you off, they biy the cans for £6 per 24 cans..

Been here a couple of times recently. Absolutely A1, very warm and welcoming despite being busy, the staff are very attentive (and patient). We're vegetarians and it's hard to get exciting food in this area, mostly "vegetarian options" being nut roasts or burgers, not in Remo's though, lovely stuff cooked with imagination and enthusiasm, proper Italian food in large portions with a nice glass of wine to go with it - nothing more to be said.

Yet another great bit of grub. My only issue is I have to travel a few miles from home to get here or we would go more regular

Nice place right on the beach front. Staff friendly, service good. Everything looked lovely food wise from what we saw. We just had coffee and cakes which were lovely. Ordered at desk inside door but weren't allowed in with dogs (mini sausages). Sat outside lovely view plenty of benches but most are slightly broken. It started raining and the conopies don't work to keep you dry (too old and high). Had to drink fast and leave because we were getting wet.

A wonderful location right on the beach. Our breakfast was delicious, particularly the hand buttered toast. The staff were friendly and proficient, nothing was too much trouble. A great way to start the day.

Lovely cafe. Everyone moaning about prices, but you have to pay for quality, and that's what you get at Remos. Toast is lovely, freshly baked bread , thick cut with lots of butter. Coffee is very good too. Will be returning when we are next in Aberavon.

Not been here for a long time.they don't take cash and not a cheap place to have a drink. Plenty of outside tables looking out at the sea. They have a funny order process, you have to order at the door if your eating outside, I found this a little off as I wanted to see what drinks they had. It's a nice place but not one I will visit again ..there's several other options nearby

So disappointing had lovely Chicken Curry staff are good but we got charged for Tap Water and £2 I was charged. I will be looking into this as I thought that Cafe/Restaurant by law had to provide Tap Water FOC

Called in Remos to buy my grandchild an ice cream . Totally overpriced , very small scope of ice cream and the extra cost for a flake was crazy. Sort your prices out Remos , we will be going to another location for ice cream with our four grandchildren this summer.

Haven't been to Remo's for ages - had lunch there today, absolutely lovely. Not particularly cheap but you get what you pay for, high quality ingredients cooked really well and lots of it. Had a very nice glass of wine too. The staff were lovely and although it was busy still found the time to chat and make us fell welcome. I've found it strange that there have been nasty reviews as they are nothing like our experience today.

Overpriced and dry/ stale cakes, and they charge £7.30 for a tiny, dry slice!! Whilst we sat down a table next to us had sent their two desserts away because they were not fresh. Appalled how a local business can justify charging that much. Will never return.

We had 3 hot drinks, 1 soft drink and 3 paninis with chips and it came to almost £50 which is a bit extortionate for Port Talbot in my opinion. It was really busy and loud and whilst they claim 'sea views' you cannot see the sea once you're sitting down inside. We waited about 15 mins for a table - not a problem, couldn't be helped. Staff very friendly but got our order wrong so we'd all nearly finished by the time they brought the correct plate out for one of our party. Food however was very good, good quality. The cakes also looked excellent although we didn't try any.

Such a lovely place to sit and enjoy the views and food the weather was so good it was great to enjoy being outside to have views across to north Devon

In short, service fab. Food ok. Payment, in a queue by tables of people eating whilst dodging waiting staff, poorly thought out till location. Price £4.50 for a small bowl of chips is too much. Don't get me started on the price of Lime and soda. Great location, but more expensive than some places in the Mumbles. We won't return.

Firstly, the cafe area is lovely with a great atmosphere. Prices though are absolutely horrendous. I paid an eye watering £4 something for one scoop of ice cream with a flake. Please sort your prices out !!!! Really off-putting.
