Treats of Old Market Street in Neath Port Talbot

We had Christmas day here in 2023. It took an hour and a half from arrival at the cafe to get our starters. Some tables had already had their three courses and were leaving by the time our starters arrived. Another wait then for our main course, then we got rushed through dessert and weren't given the option to have coffee and the cheeseboard at the restaurant. We gave them the benefit of the doubt and went back on a January weekday lunchtime. Over twenty minutes went by with no service. We booked Sunday lunch yesterday for a birthday celebration (as we've done many times over the years). Over half an hour went by while we watched other tables being served starters and then their main courses. Not even a drinks order was taken. We left at that point. We won't be returning

Had Sunday lunch in here a couple of times. There is a variety of meat to choose from, portions fantastic, and the taste of the dinner is hard to beat. Variety of desserts, too. Staff are only too happy to help, and the premises are spotlessly clean. The price of food is amazing. Every time I go to neath and if it's over the weekend, I know for sure where I will be heading Sunday lunchtime.

Great place for afternoon tea, it was outstanding. Pleasant surrounding and excellent service. Would highly recommend. Will definitely visit again.

Excellent, we love this place. But, in 2024, the only possible reason for a "cash only" till is tax evasion. Be warned, it's a fair trek to the nearest cash dispenser and, in the rain, I wasn't amused.

Friendly, delicious & highly recommend. Friendly staff who were very welcoming. Menu was jackets with fillings, toasted sandwiches, paninis & pasta. Good value.

if I could give this 0 stars I would I never been so embarrassed in all my life me and my mother was shown to a table to sit down look at the menu a girl came over and asked if I booked I said no but I was shown to the table for her to go ask the other girls who sat us down then came back and said you got to go I got up and even people in the shop asked what's wrong it was very embarrassing and I'm never coming back!!!!

Food was delicious and the staff were nice. Only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because you can't pay by card.

Great choice of food, the staff are always very friendly and helpful and never had a bad meal.

My go to place for lunch when I'm in Neath.. Lovely staff, very welcoming.. Cheese on toast for me, and my daughter had egg on toast.. Lovely.. Would recommend...

Had a lovely afternoon tea in treats . I couldn't fault it at all. The food was delicious. Staff were really friendly. I definitely highly recommend their afternoon tea. Definitely be coming back

Sunday lunch was very nice. Vegetables all cooked perfectly and the roasties were spot on. Plenty of gravy!! Only reason I’ve not given it a five is due to food not being hot. (We didn’t complain as we were hungry and in a rush, but I’m sure they would have rectified and warmed it up). Staff were very helpful and attentive and we will definitely go back, hoping it was just a one off with the food temperatures.

Love Treats! I take my eldest grandson there often. Fab food, reasonably priced, good service. Love that it's a cash only establishment too 🥰

Fantastic place that I've only just discovered...picked up 2 beef dinners earlier and they were to die for...fantastic service whilst waiting. ..even had a cheeky moretti lol...great food guys...keep up the good work...spot on...

Well many years ago it was not long after It opened,I had a breakfast There. To be honest it was bad. Today I was there again, had the breakfast It was very good indeed. And good service. I will be back again. Weldon 🌈

Lovely home style cooking with great customer service I have enjoyed this cafe been here twice for lunch The first time chose lasagna with chips garlic bread very tasty rustic meal The second time had homemade corned beef plate pasty with Chips peas and gravy it was delicious In a nutshell if you’re looking for some good homemade food this is exactly what you want Next time will have to try the cakes and desserts they looked delicious Looking forward to returning before my welsh holiday is over

Went there for Sunday lunch, the choice was great, and the food was delicious and plenty of choice. The staff were very friendly and helpful, nice place to have Sunday lunch.

Took my mum here for afternoon tea today. She abs loved it and told me it was a day she wouldn't forget. The portion was more than ample and the presecco was a nice touch too. Thanks Treats x

I haven't been here for a few years because the last time I ordered a takeaway high tea which was really awful. Several dry filled rolls shop bought cakes and soft crisps. There were two small desserts in plastic cups and mini pretzels and bits of fruit scattered around. Definitely not worth the money I paid..

Had a tasty brie and cranberry Sandwich. Food so fresh!!! Staff friendly. Highly recommended 🥳

First time trying this place out. Beautiful building with comfortable seating. Ordered Jacket Potato with Tuna mayo & onions, coffee and the wife had a pennine with chips and an iced coffee. The service was fantastic, staff were very kind and the food was some of the best I've had in Neath, it was beyond my expectations. They even gave my wife a takeaway box to take home what she couldn't finish. Very affordable, I would definitely recommend this place, we will be returning again.

Really enjoy coming here, always a friendly face and good coffee to offer. The cakes are all locally sourced or in house made, the decor is nice and the atmosphere is relaxing. Only reason I didn’t give 5* is because they don’t accept card payment, so you have to bank transfer.

Beautiful afternoon tea for my 70 th birthday. Food was excellent and plentyful. Lovely choice of rolls and cakes. Would definitely recommend.

A hidden gem! Had brunch here this morning, we received a warm welcome and the staff were attentive throughout our visit, the place has a lovely atmosphere. The traditional breakfast was really nice, with good quality ingredients, for a reasonable price. We'll definitely be back!

I had afternoon tea delivered from here and it is absolutely beautiful. The sandwiches are nice, the cakes and the scones are absolutely gorgeous.

Can't recommend this place enough. Been today for father's day Sunday lunch and the food was amazing. The service was incredible and very reasonably priced!! We will definitely be back!!!

Myself, my partner and daughter went to treats today for the first time in a while we used to frequent here due to the relaxing atmosphere, however recently it is clear that more and more tables have been cramped together and really hot and stuffy. I had ordered a coffee and toasted tea cake for my 2 year old daughter. As mt daughter was really hungry I gave her a quarter of a sandwich whilst she waited for her tea cake and a lady approached our table to tell me that if I give her food again that has not been bought in treats we may be refused entry. I was absolutely speechless at this point. I cannot believe such comment was made to a paying customer about my child ! Sadly, money making is taking over customer satisfaction. I felt completely embarrassed and uncomfortable and just wanted to leave. I certainly will not be returning here , there are far more friendly venues to visit in Neath.

Another fantastic meal at Treats. Arrived for Sunday lunch, seated straight away upon arrival. Prompt service which was friendly. The food as always was piping hot and plentiful. There was a choice of options for mains and desserts. All of the staff, I'm afraid I don't know their names, are friendly and cannot do enough for you. This is definitely a place to visit for great food, great service and great value.

A substantial, beautifully cooked breakfast enjoyed here. The bacon ,eggs and sausage were from Cole the Butchers in Neath Market! Delicious!!

We had an all day breakfast but was a bit pricey for what you get coffee was a bit cold and week.

Love this place. Decent coffee and great for afternoon tea with a lovely selection. Only wish they took card payments.

This must be the worst restaurant I've ever visited, waited 45 minutes for a slice of cake and then had to cancel it, very surly waitresses, I'm very careful of who I review, but this complaint is completely justified, very very poor service,! Beware!

Three of us dropped in for lunch. Quiet place, not sure why because the food was amazing! Great milkshakes, really delicious. I had lasagne which was tasty and came with chips, salad, coleslaw and garlic bread. Huge and all great 👍 My partner had smothered chips which were delicious, huge portion covered in bbq sauce and chicken. My mother in law had an all day breakfast and said it was lovely. Lovely chunky chips with all of them, home made, crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. Great service, just remember that they don't accept card payment, which was the only negative, so luckily we had cash between us. Thank you Treats, loved it here

Had my daughters baby shower here, had a lush tea and cake afternoon, very good place to eat. Very friendly service too, they did cater us for all types of dietary requirements too which was a lovely special touch.

Great staff great food but in this heatwave only door open no windows... no aircon or fans unbearable to sit and have food....

Friendly staff and good service. Range of sandwiches and cakes, good sized portions. Good ambience and decor. Only negative, need some fans or air con as much too warm to fully enjoy.

Lovely friendly staff. Beautiful ambiance. Annual high tea get together and there’s been many. Can honestly say this was the best yet. Delicious treats. Rolls, cream teas enjoyed every mouthful. Will definitely be going back. Highly recommend

Lovely polite staff good value for money

Discovered Treat's while walking around the pedestrian section of downtown Neath. Friendly and professional staff, we had a chicken/bacon wrap and a BLT. Really enjoyed our meal.

1st timer. Smashing welsh rarebit for breakfast. Happy staff, reasonably priced meals. Worth a visit.

Had lunch here today. The steak pie and chips were fantastic. Excellent waitress team. Will return in future!

Absolutely amazing food lovely atmosphere service amazing but the only problem I had was when I went to pay I normally pay with my card and because of they only take cash I had to borrow off my friend to pay for it. I thought every restaurant and cafe took cards these days🙁

Central to Neath town. Went here for Sunday dinner. Excellent service from staff who were friendly and welcoming. Great food and I would defiantly recommend and return.

Lovely place very helpful lady given it only 4 stars because I waited for nearly 10 minutes ti be served in the end I went to tge counter I know that they were busy but what I required I thought it would have been a bit quicker looking round there was people and they were waiting as well even before I got there and also they only take cash not card which I thought was a bit strange as far as I know normally you've got a choice but that wasn't a problem for me but I know a number if people only use card not cash

Went here for afternoon tea. Rolls were very nice and most of the cakes looked home made. But why o why do people give the scones with raisins in.... we ended up taking a lot home with us. Very tasty.

One of my favourite cafes in Neath. Highly recommend the breakfast which is delicious and very reasonable. Have yet to try the Sunday roast but have heard only good things from friends.

I really enjoyed my cheddar and onion chutney panini, which contained a good amount of cheese. It came with crisps and freshly made coleslaw. I also ordered a portion of chips, which were good but sightly undercooked. The vanilla sponge cake with blueberry butter cream frosting was yummy :-) The service was excellent! They were very prompt and courteous.

Ordered Sunday lunch but the vegetables were all hard especially the carrots and the roast potatoes wasn’t cooked and they too were hard ! Also the gravy was black really disappointed with the £8.00 each dinner and definitely won’t be ordering from treats again 😠

Bad service from the very young girl in here, no expression and rude. The soup was ok and was well presented but far too hot and a waitress asked moments later from it being placed on the table if I was done eating it. Turkey main course with roast potatoes tasted like they had been under a heat lamp all day. Not great for almost £15.

Met a couple of friends for a cooked breakfast, sausage was 'strange' texture, eggs undercooked still had the mucus stuff when dipped toast in, didn't enjoy. Have had food there before and was lovely, might be an off day.

Very very disappointed. Ordered cream tea. No pretty tablecloths as usual, no nice cups saucers or teapots as usual. Cakes sloppy and no utensils to serve or eat with and rolls not finger sandwiches. And tbh pretty poor service. Standards really slipped.

02/10/21. A group of us had a lovely afternoon tea. Pre-booked, £13.95 each. Tea & coffee included with a selection of sandwiches, cakes & crisps.

Came here with friends for lunch...it was busy which was nice to see...the food arrived in good time and was tasty and very well presented...the drinks were good, my only issue was the café latte was small a choice of sizes would be nice.
