Can't wait to arrange dinner which I am sure will take this to 5 star. The quality of the refurb is apparent in every aspect. Decor, design and customer service is without fault.

Absolutely 5 stars. The lodge has been completely renovated and is under new management. Extremely pleasant venue. Staff were brilliant as was the food. I can honestly say if you’re wondering what to choose then the beef brisket cottage pie was amazing but having said that looking at other people’s choices at other tables I think I’d have been happy ordering anything off the menus. My wife had the same and it was all she could do to eat hers. But unfortunately did so I couldn’t help her finish it off😂😂. I had soda water and dash of Lime and my wife had gin so guess who drove home. This venue is situated in beautiful Norfolk countryside situated between the villages of Wroxham and Salhouse. If you are a walker then you have Salhouse and Wroxham Broads close by. It has only just reopened the previous owners had a caravan and camping area but the new management says that might not continue but tents may be on the cards. Best to check as opinions do change, you never know. We were permitted to look around the upstairs bedrooms we thought the rooms were beautifully decorated. It’s only a mile from my house so might just become my new local.

First impressions from arriving were looking promising, though it wasn't to last. Decor was from the 70/80's which to be fair added to the ambiance, the service from Olivia was fine and helpful, friendly, , the menu complimented the decor-70/80's, the quality of it, poor to say the least, when it arrived, which felt like an age (only two other people in the restaurant) over cooked steak(also advertised as 10oz uncooked weight but I'd bet my professional career that it wasn't- more like 7/8oz), deep fried mushrooms, frozen chips (frozen aren't demonic though they were advertised as "hand cut/home made" which was my gripe)the rest of our party were ok, just ok. Overall, The Lodge felt like it lacked management, some one in charge, we were on holiday which meant it wouldn't need our regular custom, I'm guessing from the location that we're not unusual in that fact. I wouldn't go back, but oh, did I complain or mention my issues at the time, of course not it woyld be rude, it was my birthday and someone else was paying.

I have driven past this place for years and am now kicking myself that I haven't visited sooner! What a great little cafe! Delicious food, quality ingredients and lovely service. No frills, no fuss, just a proper, good old fashioned British cafe. Can't wait to visit again soon!
