The Blind Pig in Broadland

We arrived on time, and had our table pointed out to us. We had to get our own menus off the bar as none were given to us or left on the table for us (we both needed to use the loo when we arrived). We then sat for 25 minutes before we decided to leave. In that time a table of 4 was seated, menus brought to the table, and a drinks order taken. Another couple was also seated, given menus, and had their order taken - the point we decide to leave was when their starters were brought over and yet neither waitress had even looked at us. We fully appreciate that Saturdays are busy nights for restaurants, but when there's 10 or less tables it's a bit ridiculous to not have even been asked if we'd like a drink.

Delicious food, beautifully served, friendly and helpful service. I thoroughly enjoyed the soft music, the illustrations of black jazz musicians and the warm atmosphere.

Fantastic intimate restaurant with a wonderful atmosphere and very friendly staff. Food was delicious however I don't believe the deserts quite lived up to the other courses. I was disappointed that the bottle of rosé wine we ordered arrived unchilled. It was supplied in an ice bucket however I had to ask twice to have the ice replaced as it melted quickly. Also, I did feel as though some of the dishes on the menu were not in keeping with the restaurant's image. That's purely opinion and no slight on the restaurant.

The service was very good. A busy Saturday night. Food was generally very good although I did have the duck breast and over cooked. Otherwise all good. A nice collection of drinks.

Our first visit to celebrate a friends 50th birthday. We were a party of 8 and very much enjoyed our evening. The staff were professional yet personable, the food was excellent and the styling of the restaurant so nice! A great addition to Aylsham

Our first visit but hopefully not the last. Delicious food with excellent service. The roasts looked amazing when they were brought to the table and I was beginning to regret my choice of the hake. I was not disappointed though - it was perfect. A good choice of desserts - I loved the mango tart tatin with coconut ice cream and my husband’s choice of chocolate and pistachio brownie was equally well received. Under new ownership, The Blind Pig deserves to do well and we are looking forward to a return visit.

Now under new management - the food and service were first class. Sunday roast really well presented, never seen such large Yorkshire puddings! A good choice of desserts. The staff were all friendly and helpful. A lovely experience and well worth a visit.

A birthday lunch with friends. Exceptional Sunday lunch , followed by desserts to die for. Very attentive staff, nothing was too much trouble. There were ten of us, and we were all served with a smile. Prosecco served ice cold in ice buckets, every attention to detail in as far as gravy in small jugs, and delicious coffee. Lots of choice. We will definitely visit The Blind Pig again.again.

Sunday lunch was delicious. Very friendly staff and well priced dishes. We need to go back to try the cocktails.

I contacted the restaurant to ask where was the menu on their website. The person who answered the phone was not particularly helpful and rather offhand. He could not direct me to the menu to view it.

Wow, the food was amazing and the staff were so accommodating. We had a starter sharing board, an amazing wagyu burger and a delicious crumble. Will return and recommend if you’re looking for some good food in aylsham. Made my friends birthday.

Went for our 18th wedding anniversary meal. Starters were delicious and was the best roast we've ever had, can't wait to come again! Thank you.

Away for a Norfolk Break. Booked for an early dinner at The Blind Pig. We were not disappointed. Really tasty food and well presented. We will return another day.

A smart little restaurant in a quiet area of Aylsham. My fish and chips were very good and so was the salmon starter. Only minus points is the haloumi salad wasn't that obviously labelled and my mum found it a little small for a main dish. Overall pretty good and a fair price too

We booked in at the Blind Pig for a family meal over the Easter weekend and we were not disappointed! The restaurant has a really nice ambiance to it and Faye and the team were very attentive. The food was delicious - we ordered a range of dishes including steak, the Wagu burger, risotto and everyone enjoyed what they ordered. Would highly recommend!

Had a lovely meal for a family members birthday. Had a complimentary drink on arrival for the birthday lady. Service was impeccable and the food was wonderful. Recommend a visit. A great night out.

Was just before Christmas and a little quiet . Food was excellent from a fixed festive menu. Minor service errors but quickly rectified. Staff were lovely to interact with. Definitely will be back to try at another time

We didn't eat here. Just a quick tea and coffee. The menu looks great and intend on visiting here soon. We're hoping to move to Aylsham and the Blind Pig was most inviting.

I couldn't have wished for a better place to have our Sunday Roast. Service with a smile, a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere & great tasting food.

Booked for Sunday lunch, everything was perfect from the octopus starter to the lovely roast sirloin with beautiful Yorkshire puddings and veg. Can’t wait to visit again..

Disappointed with our lukewarm Sunday lunch. Most of the vegetables were undercooked ( more than al dente!) Yorkshire pudding was cold and hard. A few people in the restaurant sent their Yorkshire puddings back presumably either cold or hard as well. The gravy was very salty but …..the chicken was tasty ! Maybe we were just unlucky today as there are lots of excellent reviews for this restaurant. Initially we didn’t complain because we’re British:) and thought we could get through it but it really wasn’t acceptable. It is not cheap to go out for a meal these days so we really shouldn’t have to put up with poor standards. Unfortunately the owner or manager was very dismissive when we complained and said “ no one else has complained” No price reduction, no complimentary drinks, I’m not even sure if she apologised. Not really the best customer service in the world !

We booked for lunch with friends and had an enjoyable meal in a relaxed atmosphere. Food was excellent- really good quality and very tasty. Will definitely return.

One of the best meals I have had in ages. Superb cooking from start to finish: we had the pig cheek and the salmon to start, followed by the duck and the hake. Shared the Chocolate Delice. All sublime. Cannot recommend enough. I’m only sad we are tourists and we wont be able to eat here regularly!!

The restaurant is in Aylesham. Its smallish has a pleasant atmosphere, a good ambiance, service was great not pushy but on hand when we needed it. The menu is small but the food good, the chef's doing something magical in his kitchen.

The most incredible, high end, quality, eatery I’ve been to in a long time. The service was excellent and the food was out of this world. What an absolute gem of a restaurant. From the greeting as we entered, right up until our departure, an exemplary experience. We will most definitely be back. Thank you for a wonderful evening. The icing on the cake for us, is the fact we only live 10 minutes away. Pay a visit, you will not be disappointed.

Outstanding food, wonderful decor. I’ve heard so much about this restaurant and was lucky enough to go last night. We indulged in 3 courses and all were simply delicious and beautifully presented. For anyone looking for a meal that’s a little bit special, this is 100% the place to go, you will not be disappointed. A wonderful addition to Aylsham and we’ll certainly be returning soon.

Nice ambience.. food, in my opinion, could be seasoned a little more particularly the dauphinoise potatoes.. but there is S&P on the table. We had the Duck.. which seemed very firm.. I would prefer it more relaxed. But all in all, well presented.. and good. For dessert we had Lemon & Passion fruit tart.. very nice. Good service, friendly staff.

Went on a whim after seeing the Hake dish on your socials, great decision. The husband is hard to please, and his little eyes lit up from the first mouthful. His usual compliment would be 'alright' but this got a 'banging'. Definitely our new favourite, great staff, great menu, beautifully presented. Lick the plate good.

On both occasions my partner and I have gone for the evening menu, the food was absolutely incredible. Especially the seafood platter which I would highly recommend, this was the best seafood platter I have ever had! Amazing service, staff all extremely helpful and friendly. Beautiful restaurant and atmosphere. Could not recommend this place enough!

Long been looking forward to eating here, knowing it’s pedigree. Recent new owners have taken over but the high standard of food and service has been maintained. Lovely friendly serving staff and food was delightful - who would have known a tomato salad could be so tasty! The sea bass with crab cake was utterly divine. This place is a keeper and was worth the drive - we’ll be back!

Wouldn’t normally do a review more than once but The Blind Pig has now been taken over - Fay and Matt have been in the job for two weeks and the restaurant is as great as ever - Service was stunning - food was excellent...

Popped in to Aylsham Thursday with a friend to visit the Blind Pig, wow what find. Décor was of a very high standard, loved the tiles leading you though the restaurant to the bar where I found leffe served served on tap. The owner Dana Portass was very approachable, showing us lunchtime special menu as well as evening. We need the support our local restauranteurs in Aylsham. And this restaurant is well worth a look.

Popped in for a drink and loved it. Good service, friendly people and a cracking passion fruit martini.

9 of us had the pleasure of eating the most amazing Sunday roast EVER, and dessert to die for, what a marvelous friendly atmosphere we experienced and the customer service is 2nd to none, thanks again. We will return ... from the Chapmans 30th July

Been twice now, both occasions for an evening meal. We are always looking for efficient but engaging service and they do these in spades. The menu offers sufficient choices for a more “bistro” experience and on both occasions the food has been delicious and sufficient....

Have had both an evening meal here and Sunday lunch . Only criticism is the starter portions very small for the price. So we felt Sunday lunch better value

The Blind Pig was recommended so we thought we would give it a try for a late Sunday lunch, it was very apparent that the restaurant had been recently refurbished. The food was excellent, the staff were great - we will be visiting again soon.

An intimate Bistro in Aylsham with warm lighting and cosy atmosphere. A small and somewhat eclectic menu but thoughtfully put together and it was difficult to find dishes we didn't like. The food is absolutely delicious. We shared the shiitake mushroom starter with baba ganoush which is vegan but tastes really meaty and moreish. I had the belly pork with beans. Juicy pork and crispy crackling on light spicy beans. Then we shared the cheeseboard which was the best I’ve had. Great cheeses, figs and membrillo. Cosy atmosphere and efficient friendly service.

This is Aylshams top jewel in the crown, what a fabulous evening meal we had celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary. Everything was top class from the amazing team, greeting , service and food if I could give more than 5 * I would. Thoroughly recommend...

This wasn't a meal, this was a dining experience. You can tell the owners put a huge amount of thought into getting things right. The menu is perfect, and justifiably priced because the quality of the ingredients and the care and attention to getting the dishes perfect was very evident. I had the burger, which was phenomenal, and my wife had the pork belly which was equally perfect. The ambience was lovely, great choice of colours and music and everything was so clean and purposeful to get the environment just right, it seems large enough to meet enough people you know but small enough to still be intimate. Very very impressed and will be back often.

We had such a lovely evening at The Blind Pig last Friday night catching up with friends over drinks. I particularly enjoyed the passion fruit martini! 🍸 The atmosphere was really relaxed and lovely. We weren’t planning on eating but we were so tempted by the Camembert board we got one to share and we were so pleased we did as it was delicious! The staff were lovely too. We will definitely be back!
