Visiting the Pantiles and found this lovely cafe. We both had coffee that was perfectly made! We ordered prawn tacos and prawn and crayfish sandwich on brown bread, both were absolute perfection so fresh, delicious ingredients! Perfect! Lovely staff! Highly recommend!

I booked mid may for fathers day and was very disappointed a table was not free when we arrived, a customer offered to move so we could have a table with our dad, the staff said “its fathers day does that make sense” we said that is why we booked so early, better organisation needed here

I had a salad which really didn’t taste great and was a bit dry. My partner’s Caesar salad was missing several ingredients. So disappointing and soulless.

The coffee was really nice and staff friendly, however a very long wait for a rubbery grease ridden burger which was very difficult to eat. We were really disappointed as the location of the cafe is great and has lovely decor benefiting the ambiance of the town centre.

The new manager Victoria has injected a very needed buzz into The Lodge. I’ll definitely return and look forward to trying out the menu next time. Well done. Graham

We’re not from the area, so we stumbled across this cafe this morning and we’re so glad we did. Victoria was AMAZING. She was working alone but never showed any struggle, just constant smiling and laughing with everyone. When she told us it was her first week we were shocked, it was so refreshing to have such amazing service, and we’re sad we don’t live here otherwise we’d come daily! Thank you to Victoria & the chefs for a wonderful experience. She’s a keeper.

Fantastic! Having recently had two unfortunate experiences in Tunbridge Wells coffee shops due to sloppy service, this was a refreshing change. My wife, small granddaughter and myself went in on the off-chance as we were passing. The young lady couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming. Great relaxing atmosphere along with good coffee. Can't ask for anything better. Will certainly frequent in future.

The best thing about The Lodge is the food. The chicken schnitzel wrap is excellent. Usually getting the food right is the hard part and the service is the easy part, but unfortunately The Lodge has a lot of work to do on its service. The waitress who served us was as unfriendly as waiting staff can be without actually being outright rude; my wife ordered a tea, which as far as we can tell appears on the menu as "pot of loose leaf tea" but arrived (after a long, needless wait) as a plain cup of tea. Whether it was made with loose leaf or not, who knows. The final insult, though, was having a service charge added without me knowing about it when *you order yourself at the counter*. I do wonder about the rules of adding service charges and whether you can add it without customers knowing, but I don't know the details of the rules, and it's possible that it's mentioned on the menu somewhere. So overall I would recommend takeaway, so you can get all the benefits of the good food without having to put up with the service (and if you do, consider asking if a service charge will be added).

The food is not good and is overpriced. Poor customer engagement and communication and no interest in providing a good service I felt.

Ordered a wrap for lunch to be delivered. Was brilliant. Opened the coke bottle and was unfortunately flat. I called up the restaurant and they were fantastic, they brought up a replacement! 5 stars for customer service!

This sizeable central cafe has lots of promise with its great location and welcoming team. The menus aren’t huge but there’s enough choice. Our food came quickly and was well cooked though I think could be made more exciting quite easily. However, the cafe itself lacks atmosphere, the tables were bare but for the basics of food and cutlery. Overall there’s a lack of decorative touches that help build character, feel & customer experience. I’m sorry to say this because the Lodge’s serving team is fine but so many local cafes have given decor and atmosphere more thought. Hence 3 stars.

Very poor service. The waitress was snooty or shy but didn't smile or engage. Portion size not good. Our two boys left quite hungry. The 15 year old had the 'posh fish finger sandwich' it wasn't posh, just 2 fish fingers in white bread. £8.50 ! WORSE was my daughter's prawn tacos. 4 prawns on 4 tiny, thin tacos spread out on a large plate. £10. THEN the bill £51.30 which when I questioned it, included a 12.5% service charge and they had charged us £1.60 for the tap water. When I complained I was just stared at as if I had committed a crime.

Popped in here for breakfast as was passing. Friendly staff, poached eggs & sausage sandwich were both good.

Was served by the lovely manager Kiera and waitress Willow when I came in for breakfast. I was blown away by the service and food quality. The breakfast burrito was delicious. I visited here today with my husband and we really enjoyed our coffees and breakfasts - high quality and super tasty!. The staff were really warm and welcoming. Awesome high street location and great for watching the world go by as you relax. We'll definitely be back!!

Really good coffee and sunday brunch, sitting on the window high stools watching the world go by. Perfect start to a Sunday morning.

We had a surprisingly good breakfast here, lots of small delights with the vegan breakfast, including avocado and lime which was creamy and zingy! The only minor gripe was the tofu which was just two little pieces lost in a dark batter, but it was still a really nice breakfast with tasty variety!
