We booked for a 2 night stay for the dog friendlyness and because it had WiFi. Dog friendly in abundance but sadly no WiFi in the room. I think we must have got a poor room. There was a constant hum all the time like a pump or the bathroom fan next door. The location was perfect the staff outstanding and food excellent. The night we arrived there was no food but were directed to the village 10 minutes walk. We went with our 2 Pomeranians but half way there the fireworks started (November 5th) and we had to carry 2 terrified dogs the rest of the way. Will be back again though. The little girls loved the hotel and didn't want to leave.

Friendly, helpful staff. Rooms are spacious and clean. A little noisy in the morning with new arrivals but it we did have the windows open as it was warm. Nice location and adequate parking.

The East Lodge has a new food menu which is served from 12 noon till 9.00 pm. The new choice of food is not very good and is "snacky" bar food. Not a good choice for a a visit to the restaurant! I trust that they will revert back to more restaurant style food.

Great hotel just outside Scarborough, very friendly and helpful staff. This is an ideal location if visiting for a concert at the open air theater as only 10min taxi ride. The rooms are a but dated but clean. The communication before arrival was really good with all questions answered very quickly and politely.

Wonderful and friendly family run business. The stay felt so comfortable. Lovely setting. Food was delicious 😋. The rooms were beautifully decorated. The cushions made me smile. Fabulous mini break near Scarborough Filey and Bridlington.

Had a lovely stay at East Ayton, was put in a lovely room with a big four poster bed which was very comfy. The food was really nice and came in good time so no complaints there, didn't get to spend time in the gardens as it was hoofing down but it looked amazing. Breakfast was spot on and all in all a good stay, amazing location for Scarborough and the surrounding area.

The not so funny Fawlty towers....A hotel you would recommend to someone you don't like and it's a shame because this hotel is in a lovely quiet location. The staff were lovely, hard working against the tide of an unloved building. Rooms are tired but clean, they provide ear plugs and you will realise why....you can hear every movement and conversation in the rooms. Service is slow due to low numbers of staff, food not good value. I was a guest at the hotel and had to wait 50 mins for chicken fajitas (due to lack of staff) it only came with 2 very small wraps, it was NOT worth the wait. Breakfast wasn't good, fruit with the continental breakfast was rotten. Had to ask for room to be cleaned twice. Unsafe benches in the garden. I booked 3 nights but only stayed 2, as the last straw was they stopped serving food at 6pm and there was nowhere else to get food in the village unless you drove somewhere. So sad as this hotel could be lovely but needs someone that cares and knows how to provide good service as the current owner seems to have given up....

We had a fabulous trip and have just re-booked! It's a superb location, set in a quiet village and yet only 12 minutes drive from Scarborough. The staff are really friendly and accommodating and it's perfect for a quiet break. We choose this place as we prefer less busy places for health reasons, and it's perfect. It's great to be allowed to take furry family members, and there's bins and places to let your dog exercise. Only 2 gripes: we'd prefer a more adventurous and varied menu (although the food is superb) and we'd like staff to be stricter with monitoring smokers smoking outside their room doors and disabled parking kept free for Blue Badge owners. It's our new favourite place!
