High Street Fisheries in Scarborough

Closed at 18.30 when advertising closing at 19:00

Pleasant service. Some of the other patrons were drunk/high and a bit lairy but they were dealt with kindly and without trouble. Food was a bit over done for my taste. Nice to get scraps. Not overly greasy.

I'd give it zero stars if I could. Waited over 40 mins for fish and chips(!!). Only customer in the store initially, eventually others came and at least 2 got their food before me, eventually decided to leave, man behind the counter didn't apologise for taking so long or for the shoddy service, argued against giving my money back as "he had cooked the food." Clearly not aware of consumer law, no common courtesy or any modicum of customer service. Don't normally leave reviews but this one deserved it. I would not recommend this fish and chip shop to anyone.

Got home opened the box and had a game of find the fish..... I managed to find Wally before I found the fish

Fish n chips were vile, worst I've ever had! Threw most of them away. Whatever they were cooked in had a peculiar taste. Yuk!

We always buy from this place whenever we visit Cayton bay. Their fish and chips is really nice and affordable too. Staff are lovely.

first time i tried it curry sauce was really nice the salvoly but not to keen on batter but the burger was really nice piping hot really patience why I choose my order and cooked fresh when ordered recommended 100%

Was looking forward to fish & chips in Scarborough as they are supposed to be the best here. Chips great, but not impressed with the fish. Had a really unusual taste to it & the batter was soggy- ended up going in the bin

Just been wont be going again had fish and chips brought them home as soon as I opened the box I could tell the fish was off and for someone in the chippy not to notice before cooking it should be ashamed just makes me wonders what else is getting cooked their that's off so wont be going back wouldn't have give a star at all but wouldn't post without one

Always a nice funny time there, but tonight I wadnt given my full order and was down a large portion of chips and a tub of curry sauce and it was 3 of my sons dinner.. but by the time we got home it was too late to go back ..:(

Best fish and chips in scarbourgh in my view . I travel the country as an electrician. Believe me I've had a lot of fish and chips , staff are also very polite and friendly
