The Local in Doncaster

My housemate came back this evening from a baby shower in Doncaster and brought me back a vegan cupcake made by you. It was so tasty I could've cried! Felt emotional to taste such a delicious cake! Good ale, good food and the staff are brilliant!* Original Review: I don't get to visit as often as I'd like, but when I do I can always find a beer 🍻 or cocktail 🍹 that will tantalise my taste buds and satisfy my alcoholic yearning! A small quaintly set out bar, with happy knowledgeable staff. Tasters available on beer if you are struggling to choose, which adds to the experience. And if you're hungry, bar nibbles 🥖🥜🧀 and menu available, with some out of this world home-made cakes 🍰 A big thanks to the local staff for always being friendly and helpful, and of course for running this bar where it is situated 🤩💕

The first time I visited The Local, it become my favourite place to go each week. A great selection of beers, including IPA’s, Sour beers, Stouts etc. The pumps are changed every week, so it’s brilliant to be able to go in the following week and try new beers each time. The food has always been amazing, but the New Mexican 🇲🇽 themed menu that has been introduced is out of this world. A great selection for such a small kitchen, I can’t wait to work my way through the menu. So you’ve got great beer, great food, and to top it off, you’ve got the staff who make you feel like you’re part of the family. It’s perfect!

Always really enjoy going. Only marked down a star as I usually go when it is quiet so cannot comment properly on the atmosphere. Would heartily recommend anyway.

Great atmosphere, good range of beers and spirits, friendly hosts

With a tap selection that is on rotation its a nice surprise to find a new taste each week. The platter boards and honey sausages are lovely. They have regular evening events with karaoke, Greek and Curry nights, live music etc. The Laura and Paul are very knowledgable about any beer related questions you have and are constantly on the search for the next barrel to bring in. Also dog friendly - but they are only allowed the biscuits due to licensing laws.

Friendly staff... great selection of craft ale and a modern setting with a cool vibe...looks like lots of events, theme nights too ... wish it was my local!... We were just passing through and grateful for it being on the Google search...😁👍🍺

Always enjoy a drink here alcohol or tea....(tea pig) very reasonable prices for hot drinks, and food. Alcohol seems standard process but they have a fantastic choice especially craft beers.....Thornbridge on tap so bonus !!!

Great little spot, quirky settings and nice food. I'd say book a table early if you want to eat. It's only a small venue but great for that cosy drink

Went today spur of the moment vist. Was not disappointed. Had the New Yorker sarnie . Definitely my new favorite sarnie awesome taste and flavours. And accompanied with a craft ale finished it off lovely. Friendly staff and dog friendly. Definitely be visiting again.

Welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. Great selection of delicious 'small plates' using top-grade ingredients - absolutely delicious. Great craft beers (and knowledgeable staff), huge range of gins, cocktail of the month and quality coffees and hot drinks. Plus cake. And regular music nights, free to attend. Not to be missed.

Lovely place, friendly staff, will definitely go again. Have been a couple of times before and got takeaway, doesn't disappoint.

Really enjoyed our visit for drinks, cake & ice cream today. The lemon drizzle cake was delicious, very moist & the latte was lovely. We visited with elderly relatives & the staff were very understanding & accommodating. Will definitely call in again.

Quite expensive drinks however great service and atmosphere

Amazing food, from the boards to the tasty focaccia toasties and not forgetting the incredible cakes. Love calling in for a coffee and cake or cheeky tipple and visit whenever we can. Laura and Paul are always so welcoming and accommodating. So pleased they have been able to open back up again. See you soon!

Surprised at lack of food variety. However amazed that I loved what was on offer.

Food is really nice especially the halloumi bites. Really good selection of craft beers, gin and wine.

Just been to the local for the first time and it certainly wont be the last. Very friendly, very clean, very relaxing. Sat and chatted with a friend for 2 hrs over 3 lovely cups of coffee, did not feel rushed at all. Lovely food served by lovely people. Thank you

I live above the premiere shop and some of the customers are a little noisy. Either crying , singing or shouting.

Super nice beers, great staff (the bearded one is alright I suppose) .... events and food menu too, something for everyone, without being diluted, has personality, "10 from Len"

Awesome place, very unique little place. Probably fit a maximum of 35 people and that will be cosy. The bar had a good selection of guns etc. The beers are always changing, which can be a little frustrating as you find one you like and it's not there next week, lol. Good selection of coffee and hot chocolate. Nice food selection, nothing big, more a selection of hot finger food. Great chilli. Love this place.
