Hands down the best Vietnamese food in London. Service is always impeccable and chef Thuy never fails to cook up a storm. The beef pho and lemongrass chicken are must try's as well as the home made cocktails! I can't recommend The Little Viet Kitchen highly enough.

Food is lovely but very expensive feel is over priced for the area. Water has nice touch with the cucumber not a fan of wine out of a tumble glass would expect a wine glass with the prices they charge.

Unfortunately as with a lot of trendy restaurants the table was tiny and sandwiched tightly in between two, 3 panelled Louvre shutters which made it claustrophobic, and dark. Perhaps a covid thing. We ordered 5 dishes and literally 15 minutes later they all turned up at once leaving us scrambling for space. Little plant had to go and water put on the floor. Spring rolls look nice, but were bland not meaty and the diagonal cut made them cold quickly. Sauce was ok. Ribs tasty but over sauced with their sticky sauce, I can see people liking these but I say, salty and overpowering the pork. Whole fish very tasty, the best dish. But all the sauces have a similar theme so we didn’t have a variety of flavours really. Breaded prawns were crispy and soft inside with a Mayo type sauce that was tasty and this dish was different but not great. I think of Vietnamese as more subtle and herby but with the menu that evening it was all a bit “same same but different “ as they say in Asia. We purposely avoided the Pho as we had it many other places. Would have been nice to see the prawn pancakes or other herby dishes that night. We had. Pork ribs, breaded prawns, pork spring rolls, fried sea bass, chicken dumplings. 2 beers £75. Individually and spaced out nice enough dishes, perhaps, except the spring rolls, But everything turned up at once and made the meal table busy and rushed . We were out in an hour and bloated. 5/10.

First the positives: - Nice, petite non-commercial restaurant - Attentive service (caveat below) What wasn’t great: - The food menu that is online isn’t the menu you get at the restaurant. The starter dumplings were overcooked and appeared to be out of a frozen packet not homemade. The gorgeous fresh prawns that you see on IG are not those in the restaurant. Instead you get very expensive Iceland type breaded prawns. I appreciate that the menu has changed due to covid, but then don’t post photos of food that you’re not serving on IG and update your online menu. - The crab and papaya salad was expensive with very little sight of crab. - The salmon main was dull. Nothing overly exciting about it. - The aubergine main was undercooked - we did say this to the waiter and he replied that is how the Vietnamese cook aubergine. I really don’t think so! Most of the dish was inedible. - Very dark lighting - you can’t see what you’re eating. - Service was fast. Not the relaxed leisurely meal we hoped for. Sadly, this was an overpriced meal at £85 including 3 drinks (food totalling £60). You can get much better elsewhere. I really wanted to support this restaurant with it being independent. I had high hopes, but it didn’t deliver.

Very nice food and quick service, however we had the impression that the Little Viet Kitchen is very commercial, especially with all the news about a pop-up event in Abu Dhabi. We read the unique story of the start of this restaurant, but we were not sure if this is more of a cafe/bar or a restaurant. Three men in a rush run the place and the whole place is super crowded. Small tables. Very dim interior lighting and we needed our cellphones to read the menu. High range prices. Good choice of Vegan dishes and Vegetarian friendly Menu. I regret that we got a strange look from the waiter when I asked not to pay the Service tax. We will come back.

I booked a table for two at this cafe, I had to give my full bank details, I was told that this was what ‘all high class restaurants do’. And (if I cancelled without giving 24 hrs notice there is a charge of £10 per person). This cafe is overpriced, it promotes itself as street food well the prices certainly are not. The food is unhealthy salty and the meals are really not that good, the rice was dry and the dumplings were stale. The prices are ridiculous high for a cafe. Are you a cafe or a restaurant? I don’t like your ethos and feel like there is a dishonesty to your approach and you are elitist.

1. Firstly and most importantly take time to read Dave K's responses to Terrible and Poor reviews. He is so arrogant and despite saying on his menu 'we can strive to improve' I found the contrary (my opinion Dave K - so please resist correcting me as you do with so many of your negative reviews!) 2. On the website gallery picture 2 & 3 show 3 tables in a row besides the entrance on Friday 6th March there were 4 in the same space which made my whole experience pity battery hens even more for the rest of my life. Even 3 tables look close together I am sure you will agree? 4 tables mean a) either the space between he tables is even less or b) they have changed the tabes for even smaller ones. 3. All the food was brought to our table less than 5 minutes after ordering rather than in the usual staggered 'when it is ready sharing style' - hence not even space for myself and my host to have a small plate each to eat our food off. 4. The Crab, papaya and deacon said was pretty poor and the dim lighting meant it was hard to see what you were eating let alone find the tiny pieces of crab or papaya. Conclusion nice food spoilt by cramped seating, rushed staff, unpleasant owner/manager who thought offering me a free desert was a good solution - I declined. he took our carafe of wine off the bill ( highly overpriced substandard wine in the first place) service and gave 1 free dessert but the bill still came to £65.00 so I guess we would have been expected to pay £95.00 otherwise.

Cute little place with really nice food. I had some street food tofu... I can’t remember what it was called but it was really good. I also had a coconut mock tail which was really refreshing. The only downside is that the service charge was automatically put onto the bill.

The place was heaving and obviously a very popular local. The food was absolutely delicious, very authentic, big portions and well cooked. Service was good, wine was fine, and it was good value too. Will definitely eat here again. The only irritant was the very fashionable in London "the food will come in the order its cooked, not ordered" which I always find a bit irritating as its tantamount to saying the Chef doesn't really care how the customer wants their meal, it'll come as i cook it. So actually all of our food, in its entirety , arrived at once so we had a table groaning under the strain. This is disappointing when you want a a soup or starter followed by a main and its all brought at once. When i discussed this with the waiter (the co-owner) it is because his (wife) chef likes to instagram the food ! As I actually think me enjoying the meal i am paying for is a tad more important than instagram, we agreed that the best thing to do in future is to place one order, eat it, then place another order for "mains". Other than that it was excellent and very enjoyable and they don't even have that other unbearable London habit of asking for the table back after XX minutes: you can just sit and enjoy yourself in the buzzy atmosphere.

Been there in a Friday night. The outside is very welcoming after you made the effort to read the menu on the window which is hard to read due to the very strange font. Deco is like an upper British restaurant, a bit heavy in the inside and does not feel like being in a Vietnamese place. The food was overly spicy despite the fact I specifically asked for each of my choices whether they were spicy and the response from the waiter was mild or a little spicy. The presentation was great and preparing you for a great taste but food tasted as nothing due to all the chilli. I have been to multiple Vietnamese restaurants in London and Vietnam but they usually mention the spicyness of their dishes. The waiter did not ask us how we found the food during the dinner or at the end when we paid our bill which is quite bizarre.

Top notch food. As a big lover of Vietnamese cuisine, I can gladly say it was the best I've had in this country, and in the Top 5 I've had on this continent. The small, bustling restaurant gives off a great ambience and, in true Vietnamese style, the key to the insane quality of food lies in the preparation; so much so that, once ordered, the food comes out in 5 minutes and the combination of flavours is authentic and delicious. That beef broth is to die for and I’d gladly drink it by itself on a regular occasion. They even infuse their own spirits for their unique cocktail twists. Will be going back many times while in London, and a big shoutout to Dave the owner.

. . ”Y le dice adiós. Estábamos bien vestidos y no somos gente ruidosa. Fui respetuoso, pero encontré el comportamiento del propietario completamente inhóspito, poco acogedor y discriminatorio. I ordered the Special Pho and it was one of the worst I had. The beef was stuck together, tough and dry. They clearly didn’t bother to separate the pre-sliced meat when cooking. The rice noodle was undercooked and was also stuck together. The broth has a nice flavor but too salty and not enough for everything to swim in. The drinks were too sweet and underwhelming. I doubt the chef that evening was Asian because us Asians don’t serve our family food like this at home. I thought they just had a bad night but later learnt from friends who live locally (we flew from Australia for this dish) that this place is NOT known for good Vietnamese food. On a regular visit to the Upper Street area we decided to try something different in advance of our visit to Vietnam next week year. We are both huge fans of Thai food and have visited many Thai restaurants. We naively thought that Vietnamese food would at least be comparable. We were very wrong. I don't know if it is this particular restaurant or if it is Vietnamese cuisine in general, but we had a variety of dishes that generally lacked flavour and largely came with the same sweet chili sauce. For what we got it was also very expensive. We won't be returning, but do hope that it is better once in Vietnam.

In terms of value for money knocked off a star as even though you pay £15/£16 for a curry you have to order the rice as a separate which is annoying.... however the food is absolutely delicious and the sauces are divine (try the broccoli stems!) - some simple tweaks and hands down I'd give them 5 stars all the way!

I was walking through Camden market when I stumbled upon a little piece of Vietnam . With little expectation and a lot of appetit . As I walked in was greeted by their very friendly staff . They explained carefully the menu and told them my preference. In no time the food was served. My taste buds never experienced so many different ingredients . I was so surprised how wonderful the food is . I defenetly recommend this resteraunt , and I will be frequently going . If you haven't been you don't know what you are missing .

Really exceptional Viet food - totally deserves its reputation. The food is incredibly flavoursome and the head chef is utterly passionate about the quality and experience that her customers get. Would absolutely recommend!

What a gem! My colleague recommended this place to me on a whim, and being highly sceptical, hard to please and ‘knowing what I like’ I always take people’s recommendations with a pinch of salt. This, was not an anti climax. This, was excellent.

Went here for dinner with friends and loved every bit of the experience. Cocktails were good, service just right and the food amazing. We had a selection of street snacks and a couple of larger dishes. Top picks were the tofu dishes and the giant King prawns. Will definitely return.

We absolutely loved our visit. It’s been on our bucket list. The ambience was exactly what we expected from all the pictures online. The restaurant is small but well layed out. Fantastic decor. The staff were super friendly and attentive. The food was stunning. We ordered a feast to share and it didn’t disappoint. Good value for money. And they served Margarita’s which is a must for me. We felt like we got the personal touch. Can’t wait to go back!

Good sized plates with a lot of flavour. A bit different from what you would find at other Vietnamese restaurants. The service was very good and the menu had a lot of variety. The only negative points I would bring up is that the Edamame is served with a sweet and sour sauce instead of salt, and it does not taste as good in my opinion. Also, the music at this restaurants makes you feel like you’re in an old folks home rather than a trendy viet restaurant. Other than this, I would definitely recommend coming here to try out the food!

Overpriced for what it was. Okay Vietnamese but there are a lot of better options for Vietnamese in London.

Came here because I read a lot of good reviews but I was really disappointed with the food. I knew I have came to the wrong place when the waiter can’t even pronounce pho properly. I came from a Vietnamese background and have been to a lot of Vietnamese restaurants so I know what’s authentic. I ordered a chicken pho and it’s not even the right noodle for pho, don’t even get me started on the broth, instant noodles taste better than this. Spoke to the waiter said this isn’t pho and he said that’s how they make pho here. Don’t call it pho when it’s not even pho, everything is over priced and lack of selection.

Had excellent special starter, pho very good, waiters friendly, a little dark. Coffee surprisingly good for Vietnamese kitchen. No open beer though. Recommended!

Our first visit and the meal was superb with interesting flavours in every dish. All the food, starters and mans, was delivered in one go so next time we will ask for it to be staggered so we can enjoy it at a slower pace.

I love Pho and have eaten it for years, both in Asia and other places in the World - this is a poor substandard version - No herbs and vegetables on the side, had to ask for chilli and vinegar. Really
