A hidden gem, a well kempt secret, under the radar... Call it what you will, this place serves some of the best coffee in Wales. A flat white and a chat with Rob is a fine way to start your day.

Did the barista experience with Laura today. What a fantastic experience with a really knowledgeable barista. The cafe is great, a really laid-back, quirky place to sit and chill out with a coffee, followed by some hands on training and I feel that I actually know what I'm doing with my espresso machine now! Had the opportunity to learn what goes into making a perfect espresso and then how to use that to make a great flat white and cappuccino. I would thoroughly recommend this to any coffee drinker

Located midst a row of garages and workshops, this cafe is located in the most unlikely of places and we took some time to find it. But were we glad we did. The lattes and flat whites were smooth and great tasting. The barista took care to brew each cup carefully and service was impeccable.

Me and my partner decided to have a go at this coffee course to hone in on our coffee skills. We thought we were pretty close to making a good coffee the right way but boy were we wrong! We were greeted by a brilliant barista called Beth who showed us everything from weighing and timing your coffee to steaming milk so that it’s the perfect to make amazing lattes! (We couldn’t believe how technical it all was) We couldn’t believe how much we learned in the 2 hours we were there. Beth never rushed us once and made us feel very welcome! I would definitely recommend this mini taster course to anyone who wants to improve on pulling a perfect shot of espresso. Also make sure to try the mini macaroons!

My girlfriend and I did a 1.5 hr barista coffee experience with Dom. We booked it via the Wriggle app but I believe you can book it with Little Man Coffee directly. We learnt so much in an hour and a half about how to make a really good espresso - how to tamp correctly, weighing in the coffee and weighing out a shot. How the processing of the beans can affect the taste and how you should adapt your espresso making accordingly. We also spent a good amount of time learning how to make microfilm milk to make our own flat whites and practiced our latte art. I still need a lot of practice and there's obviously a loooooot more to learn but we really did so much in a short space of time and all of it we have been able to take away and practice on our home espresso machine. The coffees we make at home already taste 100x better! Dom was a great teacher - he answered all of our questions, explained things really clearly and very quickly picked up on what we liked about coffee and what we wanted to learn and adapted our experience accordingly. For £30 for the two of us (it was 2:1 student-teacher ratio) it was incredible value! Highly recommended if you want to learn more about coffee and more importantly start to make great coffee at home :)

The Little Man Garage really is one of the hidden gems of Cardiff's cafe scene. There is so much more than meets the eye to the place, as the sparse entrance in a back lane leads to a quirky coffee station with an upstairs lounge which is great; a log burner and a relaxed vibe compliment the great coffees. We did the 'barista experience' and found it a brilliantly fun, informative and, ultimately, enjoyable way to learn about coffee and try your hand at something which is harder than it looks! Ash was a fantastic host for this; highly knowledgeable and extremely personable, so able to handle any questions without making you feel stupid for asking even the most simple query. It's an all-round winner and worth making a trip slightly out of town for. Highly recommended all round.

We went to the Little Man Garage for their barista experience. Such a fab find! When we arrived we were made a coffee each to enjoy by the log burner in their cosy area upstairs, followed by several hours spent learning how to make the perfect espresso and steam milk like a pro. Ash was really helpful and patient. I’d definitely recommend this informal and relaxed session to anyone who wants to know a bit more about the art of making good coffee!

Great place to grab a coffee to go on the way to town or have a little sit down upstairs next to the fire. It's also a really decent place to work with £7 coffee for the day ✌🏻 Will be even better when they start serving food...

I love this quirky little place! The stairs are v steep, but once you're upstairs it's a gorgeous cosy space with a wood stove and a view of the trains going past. The coffee is lovely and they have some nice cakes. Plus the all day coffee deal is amazing!

The place isn't your traditional coffee shop, you are welcomed by white wash brick walls, a tuk tuk, no seating, bikes hanging from the wall, and a "coffee bar" style thing in front of you. The barista was really chilled and seemed to really know his coffee! Then you order a coffee from him and walk upstairs to find a quaint seating area with tables, WiFi and a frigging fireplace. The coffee was actually good, no burnt flat whites!
