Since the new management has taken over the staff don't seem to have much knowledge of the items that are stocked. The prices are also ridiculous, we bought some guanciale for a carbonara. There was no transparency on the pricing and only found out at the end that they were charging £69 per kg! Very overpriced for what we received.

Only popped in and bought a pork pie, but it was wonderful. Never had such a juicy, jellied pork pie .

Closed early Friday despite getting there 10 minutes before closing at 5pm, closed Sundays, and arrived today at 10:45 and no one is there. Website states open from 10 - 1pm on Mondays. Its a wonder some places stay in business when you can't buy anything from them!

Amazing selection of fresh cheeses and cold cut meat. I'm always surprised how much fits in that tiny shop!

I ordered yesterday and the cheese arrived today. Perfectly packed and in very good order. I regularly use this company for buying cheese and and their service and product is exceptional. Long may they succeed!!!

My son ordered a cheese for me. It was despatched promptly and arrived in the afternoon the day after despatch. A standard outer box sealed with " Fragile" tape. I opened this to reveal a jumble. There was another smaller "The Little Deli" box which was open, three small cold packs, and eventually a cheese. There was nothing to keep the inner box closed, which had presumably contained the cheese and the cold packs. There was no packing material to prevent the inner box tumbling around inside the outer box and most importantly, no insulation of any sort. As this was one of the recent hot days you can guess the result. Everything, the 2 boxes the 3 cold packs and most importantly, the cheese, were at the ambient temperature. About 28C. I emailed the deli with these facts. Their response was that they always ship this way with no complaints and that we must have left it on the doorstep in the sun. We didn't. It was taken straight inside and opened within 15 minutes. I let them know this. They did not respond. Small icepacks in summer temperatures do not keep cheese at a suitable temperature for 24 hours in uninsulated poorly packed boxes. Customers complaints should be treated with more respect.

Poor selection, the cold cuts are prepackaged without any weight on them. Very overpriced and extremely poor selection. I would recommend to go to proper Italian deli in St. Albans instead.

I came in to buy cheese for a fondue (totally retro) and they were able to offer really good advice. The resulting fondue was fantastic. I also loaded up with some dried meats and some amazing sweet and pickled accompaniments. Well worth a visit if only for the aroma as you step through the door. So great to have something like this in the centre of Hitchin. Keep up the good work guys.

Fabulous little shop, run by people who love and know good food.

Great selection of authentic Italian and European goods. Fresh cheese counter and meats are fabulous. We are lucky to have this shop in Hitchin. I would love to shop here once a week but its way too expensive, so it is one a month. Unfortunately the older staff can be quite curt towards the end of a long day.

My favourite shop in Hitchin! Such an amazing selection there’s always something new to discover for a picnic, evening treat or gift. The garlic stuffed olives are the best I’ve found in the UK as well they even convert olive-haters!

I bought some baron bigod brie that was bad. I didn't inspect the piece properly in the shop. I got home to find one side was dried and discolored, and the rest tastes of ammonia. I would have taken it back if I could, but I'm too far now. Very disappointing.

Fantastic deli. Super friendly staff and all of their recommendations were delicious. We bought cheese, cured meats, 3 different scotch eggs and sausage rolls but the best by far was the pate.

Personally felt the food was overpriced for the quality and taste, but the store is cute and whichever staff was in store was helpful and well trained.

Have been going to the Little Deli since it opened. An amazing choice of cheese and other treats. Staff are friendly and very knowledgeable. Glad that during this lockdown they are managing to provide a click and collect service. The only reason for 4 rather than 5 stars is the amount of plastic wrapping used now.

Cannolis to die for 🤣.I had the first visit from mum since lockdown earlier in July and had to grab a couple of these beauties , pistachio, salted caramel and chocolate cannoli's from the great team @hitchindeli and introduce her to that amazing crunch and flavorsome feeling and she was not disappointed. Love them gonna have to head back for a cracking weekend cheeseboard as well I think.

Well stocked deli with a wide selection of local as well as global delicacies. Staff is friendly and helpful. I definitely can recommend visiting The Little Deli.

Came across The Little Deli when browsing online, placed an order, order delivered the very next day. Quickest delivery I have ever had. Just wish I could actually visit the shop. I ordered a few christmas gifts and am very pleased everthing arrived well packed. I must thank you all for the excellent service you provide. Keep up the good work.

I haven't bought much in here, but the staff are always lovely, the food smells incredible and the gluten free canolli are amazing!

The Little Deli is fantastic! I wanted to send a gift hamper to a friend. However, I live overseas and thought it might be a bit of a hassle to try and coordinate with a smaller shop. I thought about just ordering online from one of the bigger shops like M&S for ease but I’m so glad I didn’t! The Little Deli was tremendously helpful in organising everything. They responded to my initial email request within 5 minutes and walked me through different options for customising gift hampers. I gave a price point and a few pointers on things I knew my friend liked but otherwise asked for their help. They put together a really fantastic hamper full of amazing cheeses, gin, snacks and sweet treats. Once the order was finalised and I paid, it was all wrapped up beautifully and then delivered that day! My friend really loved it. Also, the prices are really good, especially considering the very high quality of the products and the superb customer service provided. I would highly recommend.

I have just received a 'lock down' food parcel from one of your customers. Beautifully presented in a straw filled box inside a cloth bag, the aroma was fantastic. I started with the little red Peruvian peppers, they were the first, second and third things that I tried, then the crostini, then back to the peppers, the salami, the cheeses and those yellow, cheese-filled squash yum, all of this was the highest quality and absolutely delicious. Thank you. Well chosen and well made.

Looking for a good strong cheddar I visited this deli and was served by a very helpful lady who gave me a couple of samples to try and I chose a nice cheese. It was an average size piece 304g for which they charged £9.03! It was a nice cheese but by no means the best I've had and massively more expensive than any other. Such a shame as having a nice little deli local I would be a regular customer and would be prepared to pay a premium, but not that much!

Fantastic local deli, you'll want to buy everything in there! Home made raviolli are particularly good as are the takeaway toasted sandwiches. Staff are really friendly.

Located on the Hermitage Road in Hitchin Town Centre, the Little Deli is a gem of a fromagerie. The cheese qualities here are absolutely brilliant. I took some of their brie, burrata, cheddar cheese with me back to my parents home and I can honestly attest that it was mind blowing. The products are well priced and so fresh. Hitchin Hard is one of my most favourite cheese in the world, and I find the best one at the Little Deli. I cannot recommend this fromagerie enough! Oh and the staff is super awesome too!

Went in here today to try their lunch menu for a take away lunch and I was not disappointed. I had a kale and lentil salad and cous cous salad and they were really, really tasty and filling and fresh. Lovely people who work in there and were really helpful. Lots of interesting deli bits and pieces to go back for. Definitely getting lunch from there again when I can get out of the office.
