Spacious pub , clean and tidy with plenty of seating spaced around the interior.Served food, plenty of parking spaces and in the town centre.

Ordered drinks by App.When entered card details showed up as error. Checked my bank, amount debited. Staff at bar said similar problems previously. Refused to serve me the drinks until I'd paid again. Manager not very sympathetic. Said my bank would pick up on it and rectifying refused to serve me until paid again which I did. Next day back had taken transaction twice once showing " Wetherspoons " the other " Listers Arms" ( NOT pending - confirmed ) Disappointing especially as they were already aware of the problem So my advice If paying by app CHECK YOUR BANK STATEMENT

Young lady who served me was lovely. Kitchen sent out wrong order had to wait a lot longer for my meal. The person who was with me had finished their meal before I got mine back. Jacket potato was cold and the same fried egg returned with rubber texture. Get a grip. Ilkley deserves better...

Good food. Staff were anti social

Ordered a beer through the app, served to me then taken away by the manager (26/10/24) because I didn't have ID. I understand that rules are rules but I'm 26 years old, it's literally impossible to mistake me for below 18 - genuinely think he did it for the sake of being awkward. If I ever come here again and he's there I'll be straight out and head somewhere else.

A standard Wetherspoons pub. I used the app to order my meal, which was brought to my table. The food was good and excellent value.

Had a fantastic meal at lister arms after a refreshing walk across Ilkley moor today ,I thoroughly enjoyed the ramen noodles had a good bit of heat and was very healthy on a budget,my partner enjoyed the sticky chicken with rice .cheers wetherspoons 👍

Terrible breakfast the last 3 times I've been always cold eggs always snotty,last time they forgot to put on a tomato and an egg,I think a teaspoon of beans is also a bit tight,any way that's the last time we're going,much better breakfast nearby,chef seems more interested in texting on his phone than doing his job.

My work colleague and I called at Wetherspoons, Ilkley, on Friday morning, the 18th of October (2024). We both ordered Eggs Benedict and asked for them well done so that the yolks were hard. They both came with runny yolks and were cold. I sent mine back and when a replacement arrived it too had runny yolks. I sent it back again and asked for a refund. How difficult can it be to deliver eggs with hard yolks. Will not be back.

Had a breakfast, sausage , egg, toast, beans, bacon, hash browns, for £3.19 and tea. Can't fault it. Plenty of seating will return when back in Ilkley

The chicken tikka curry was amazing!! It was so tasty and not really that spicy. The staff here are also very helpful

Drinks were good, place was clean and the prices cheap. However, the service was not good. It is not really good enough to be shouted at by the member of staff behind the bar just because we were taking a little time to decide what to drink. I'm sure it's not the way to treat paying customers???

Quick service after ordering on app. I know it's the same food at every spoons but it was hot and seemed better for it.

My husband left his mobile phone, which had been handed in by a very kind man, thank you so very much. We tried to give to young man and woman behind the bar, a tip, but they politely wouldn't accept. There are still a lot if good and honest people out there. ❤

Our visits to The Lister Arms, Ilkley are typically spoiled by the 'indifferent' attitude of the guy with facial hair, who roams around with his wired-up earpiece clearing tables, with the personal charm of a hard, cold breeze-block. His unpleasant attitude borders on being customer-hostile and offensive. He never politely smiles or engages with customers; even if superficially. When customers proactively try to engage or assist by taking their glasses back to the bar with a bit of polite, friendly banter, they are stonewalled and made to feel awkward. A charmless man in the wrong job. This guy should not be in the service industry. He clearly, or apparently, doesn't enjoy his job and seems to dislike customers even more. Either change your attitude, put a smile on your face, be polite, engage & be friendly with customers, or leave the service industry and stop putting a dampener on customers' experience at The Lister Arms.

App struggles to work in here and wifi weak when pub is full. Queues at bar and real ales not the finest (tried four different ones and didn't finish any of them).

Still the most inattentive staff I've ever known

Ordered Gammon and eggs, I do ask for well done as I hate (White pink gammon,) so basically I'm asking for it to be cooked longer to deep pink with golden brown edges, what arrived was blackened Cremated so hard I couldn't cut it, tried to bite and my teeth nearly broke, chips were cold and they never ever get eggs right, Cooked under with a runny yolk, splash the top to avoid the snotty runny, the eggs always arrive hard yolks, why??? So i told the waitress the eggs are hard the chips are cold and the Gammon was so over cooked. She marched off with my plate, she then came back and Said the chef won't replace it because I ordered it Well done, so she brought a refund and Said you can order again at the bar. ????? What was the point of that? I sat with no meal, I'd worked all day and was hungry and wetherspoons ilkley was the choice of place. What on earth is going on. This was last Tuesday, very dissatisfied I went home hungry at 9pm and had to cook a meal. Not good enough Werherspoons Ilkley, I've pondered over doing this review, and decided it needed to be said.

Had a day out in Ilkley last Saturday. and was in and out of the pub morning/early afternoon. Had a breakfast in the morning and wished I hadn't. The hash browns and eggs were cooked, but the rest of the meal was cold, and had clearly been pre-cooked and not heated up properly. And the service behind the bar was appalling. A girl, Sian, was on her own and eventually threw a tantrum a four-year-old would have been proud of when I asked her to top up my pint. It was taking me 10 minutes to get served. i have to go back again next month, and I hope it improves. there didn't seem to be anywhere else to go.

It's not the most characterful wetherspoons I've ever visited. The service via the app was good. The food is passable and very reasonably priced. I thought Wetherspoons was a music free pub chain? ... but I found the music from, I would guess, a mobile phone, in the kitchen, faintly off-putting. Tbf these are minor quibbles. I'm a wetherspoons fan.

I love Spoonies, but the breakfast here was as bad as it gets. 45 mins to arrive, lukewarm (some of it stone cold), a look and taste of several times microwaved. One of our party found a hair.

The food was ok, Wasn't the best, but it was edible. Staff were friendly, and the place was clean. Nice, relaxed atmosphere.

Popped into the Lister Arms with my wife and daughter for breakfast and were more than happy with what we found there. A nice little pub in a lovely town. The staff were a treat, friendly and attentive and very smiley indeed. Our breakfast arrived in good time. Two traditional breakfasts and some toast. You can't really go wrong with toast and they didn't here either. And with that we had one very happy daughter. The breakfasts were nicely cooked, hot and tasty. Even the baked beans were largely free of the microwave skin so often found on microwaved Wetherspoons legumes. All in all The Lister was a great place to stop and have a more than adequate meal in pleasant surroundings.

Not enough staff for Sunday lunch time. 2 bar staff, 2 waiting staff meant tables were cluttered and dirty for too long. Peas substituted with coleslaw - on a chargrilled chicken dish? No apology or explanation given. Tepid mash not very nice. Hubby's yolk on fried egg was hard. Yuck. Condiments not replaced on side table so meant we had to search other tables for ketchup. Another customer was told only one type of pizza available and no custard for apple crumble. Poor.

It's unbelievably affordable and service is lovely. Toilet is clean and many cubicles enough for a party of gals. Women will feel safe here with attentive and caring staff too. Food is hit and miss, basic. It's kind of like a community cafe rather than a typical town wetherspoon pub. Unlimited refill of tea, coffee or hot chocolate too.

Yesterday I visited with my mother and sister and ate there. Not long after I started to feel quite sick and honestly feeling seriously bad. I won't go into details of the night I have just had. I called this morning and informed them , and got the speech of we do constant checks etc. and quite frankly my courtesy call (which is what it was) was dismissed and in essence down played, rather than properly listened to. I'm not impressed at all. Plus the chicken fillet burger was a disgrace, the nachos salsa was so much sauce and so far removed from actual Salsa and had as much in common with salsa as salt does with sugar. Honestly it was not the best experience and won't be going there again

Visited this Weather spoons pub on 2 separate days whilst visiting Ilkley and had an enjoyable meal and drinks. One of the better Weather spoons pubs we have used and will call in again when visiting the area.

One star is too much!! Not allowed to use the word c-r-a-p, but their food is terrible. See the so called ultimate burger for £11.00 plus incl a drink (drink was ok) photo. Supposed to be served with lettuce, tomato, dill and burger sauce. Lettuce as shown in the photo, two scrag ends of tomato, no dill, onion, burger sauce. 12 chips and 4 so called onion rings. When I complained there shrugged their shoulder and said "that's how it comes"

Always a good time at Wetherspoons went there for tea,food was good and decent sized portions. You can have either alcoholic drink or a soft drink included with your meal cheap and cheerful.

I am here with my mother who lives with Parkinson’s disease most notably in both her hands and wrists. My mother ordered scampi, chips and mushy peas and I had fish, chips, and garden peas. Before we had our food, I went to the toilet, which was fairly clean and, on the way, back to the table I picked up a bottle of tomato sauce and some tartar sauce sachets for both my mother and I. Once at the table a male representative (whose name I don’t know) bought our food to the table only to realise the food was slightly wrong in that on my mother’s plate were garden peas and on my plate, there were mushy peas. I then swapped the peas on our respective plates to help make it easier and I could not see the man who was taking food to the tables to mention anything to him. Given my mum struggles with some tasks which involve her hands and wrists I offered to open the tartar sauce sachets and all I can say is I couldn’t and instead I then had to use my fork to pierce them which wasn’t any better or easier either. Eventually I managed to pierce the sachets and both my mum, and I struggled to squeeze out the contents. As I squeezed one sachet for my plate it burst onto my jumper, and I then went to the bar to try and get a cloth to clean it off. The person behind the bar was a woman (whose name I also don’t know) was busy chatting to another customer as I think he was a regular given she touched his hands as she was talking to him. A few minutes later I asked the female barmaid for a wet cloth, and she came back with a few dry serviettes which I had to ask her to wet twice as she was not concentrating on me or the issue. As I was trying to get the sauce off my jumper, I explained to your colleague what had happened and how difficult it was for people to open the sachets least not for someone like my mum. Your female representative then said “anything else” I found this response a little poor as she did not say sorry or empathise with me or help at all. As the sauce on my jumper was in a large area another man came up to the bar where he and I exchanged some small talk, and I overheard the female representative saying “idiot” I am not sure if this was meant for me or not and as the mess was now starting to clear up I had hoped to ask the barmaid for some more wet serviettes but I could not find her as she had moved round the other side of the bar. I then went to the serving hatch to find some more tissues which I went to the gent’s toilet to wet as the barmaid was still round the other side of the bar. I eventually got the sauce off my jumper and made my way back to my table whereas a result the food was now lukewarm, and I didn’t say anything to either of your representatives. As I walked back to the table, I saw two people who looked like if they were working and they said they too had trouble opening the tartar sauce sachets at some point and whether this was today or a previous visit I am not sure. All in all I felt my time with my mother was not helped by either your colleagues in the kitchen with regards to the mix up of the peas, the female barmaid was far from helpful and empathic and to talk about me under her breadth in the way she did I find very rude and I didn’t say anything and to make matters worse the food was lukewarm and very difficult to open the sachets. I do not live locally and whether I would come here again either with my mother or anyone else I am not sure and yet if I do I hope there is a vast improvement in terms of service and facilities and if I were to have fish again the tartar sauce is easier to open or is replaced by a bottle as it is in many other Wetherspoons pubs in my experience.

i am a regular here and this is always a clean and consistent wetherspoons, great servers for good value food and drinks, and today was another perfect hospitality experience

Central location and car park round the corner. The Spoons offering is unpretentious and very fair. Pizzas and grills well prepared. Breakfasts very popular. Zana red wine is less than half the cost in posh nosh place, and just as drinkable. Fast delivery at peak times. Ideal for children. Can be a bit hot and sweaty when busy, and table clearance could improve. Bit of outdoor space. Overall excellent value, especially in Ilkley. The Wetherspoons formula is a work of genius .

Manager was rude and very unprofessional. Severely disappointed, and would recommend avoiding, and instead opting for some much better pubs around Ilkley.

I really love this place. Smaller than most weatherspoons, giving it a much cosier atmosphere. The staff are great, professional and friendly. The food is good too, especially the steak! The chefs here do a super job of getting the steak exactly how I like it!!! 👍

I recently visited Ilkley and I called into the Lister Arms for a couple of pints and an evening meal on two consecutive evenings. I had the mixed grill which was OK and a curry on the second night which was nothing special and struggled to be average. The Lister Arms is certainly one of the better Wetherspoons pubs in terms of cleanliness, atmosphere, service and clientele. The food and drink is still reasonably priced however the food is only of average pub quality. The toilets are clean, convenient and can be found without following one's nose.

We were taken to lunch by friends and we were really impressed. Food and prices were excellent. We will now try our local Wetherspoons and hope its as good.

The food isn't good at all. A chef who can't cook eggs? My eggs were in a triangle shape and were horribly over cooked. Like they had been in a tray under the lights for ages and then sliced. Two bits of tomato mush and a greasy mushroom didn't help. My partners eggs benedict were rock solid. All this plus no coffee available. Won't be in a rush to come back.

Smallish, busy spoons. Not many free tables and those that weren't taken were stacked high with dirty crockery and glasses. When we did get seated app service was quick and food the expected standard

Food came very soon after order and a small fish and chips and the fish came put smaller than my hand and I have small hand. I carry on eating and find hair in my curry sauce.

Its weatherspoons 3 stars is good for what you get and the price you pay. Ordered food, which they seem to have forgotten about. I addressed the matter with a member of staff. they rectified the problem with my main and a complementary dessert for me and my partner.

Below is my previous review from last year. Unfortunately things have changed, food was cold, half was missing, staff were rude, dismissive and miserable, and even the pint was a clear inch and a half missing. The only saving grace was the steak was still cooked correctly. ..... Good god, the great unicorn, the golden fleece, the Wetherspoons that know how to cook a steak correctly without setting off the fire alarm. This place is such a rarity that I had to list it this way. I would absolutely recommend this place.

We cannot praise the staff enough on our visit today . Jed was so friendly and efficient , he could not do enough to make sure we had a great family meal out . 15 of us in total all more than happy with every meal . Even provided plates and spoons to eat our own birthday cake . Skipton is our nearest Wetherspoons but we always travel further to ilkley . Today proved yet again why we do . The bar staff and Emmy who made this possible were all fantastic . Thank you all ,,, sorry we will be back .

A pleasant visit to a Spoons that l use to visit regularly a few years ago.Better,friendly and more efficient service at the bar than I remember. Pity the self service machines (both) ran out of coffee and milk at the same time! I was on ale but my partner was miffed (designated driver).

Saturday afternoon 5.30pm. Tables covered in uncollected dirty food utensils,cutlery,plates and glasses .No one collecting. Menus removed from tables when we went in. Flattest pint I've ever had. Walked out!

Place has hit an all time low with present management(unfortunate looking fellow bald glasses petulant attitude)terrible service and awful attitude Wetherspoons recruitment process needs seriously overhauling if this is the best they can do!expect more complaints about this joker

Visited today for breakfast with my partner. Both breakfast orders were served with error… additional egg missing and no sausages served with large breakfast. Additional order of black pudding arrived but was cremated and almost inedible. Very shocked and disappointed this is accepted in Ilkley. Staff tried to resolve whilst breakfast went cold. Terrible overall.

Now I don't expect Michelin starred food in a wetherspoons, but this was terrible, there were 6 people in this big pub and myself and my wife were the only ones who had food. Both our meals were dried out, cold rice, majority of it was unedible and disgusting, waitress never asked us about the full plates she was taking away, completely disinterested, no excuse for this, zero customer service. I'd say you get what you pay for but no one deserves to be srved this muck,, head office will recieve this same review,

The usual Spoons menu at reasonable prices which include a drink. Plenty of choice including veggie options. Promptly served and piping hot.

The bar staff and floor staff were absolutely excellent, the food was hot and we even got a member of staff asking if our food was alright, I actually asked for Manager to commend him on the staff

We come quite often with our clients who have learning disabilities.They couldn't be more helpful and always make us feel so welcome. Food is always good too

The manager with the specs was absolutely useless and claimed that giving my drinks to the people next to us was “my (authors) problem and not mine (the managers) ” however em and (i hope i’m not butchering the spelling) maganu were able to resolve the issue quickly (we had been waiting an hour and a half for 2 vodka and cokes)

I find it hard to knock this place, always quite a few in, but big enough to cope with a group of us (sometimes 12 or 15 of us) without much difficulty. Food is not bad, fills a hole and certainly cant be knocked for the price.

Great historic pub, now run by Wetherspoons. You know, it's a Wetherspoons, you know what you are going to get. It's good value for what you get. Just don't go expecting Michelin starred food. Relaxed, fun, good for kids.

I was shocked you don't have to hike to the toilets they are on same level as the pub! 🤗🤗 Lovely staff.. only has chocolate cake and drinks.

Deleted my earlier review, Abbot on and in form. Helped me wash down a all day brunch for less than £7. Shame it's treated as a kindergarten by some.

Unfortunately, not a pleasant experience. Tasteless food... the grill chicken burger felt like a boiled chicken burger. had a portion of chicken wings which was stinking. one of worst food experience in a pub. Unfriendly staff.
