The Lighthouse Fish and Chips in Lewisham

Very good quality hot food, handcut thick chips were delicious. Small was more than a small, actually bigger than some of the large portions elsewhere and considering the London postcode I was more than happy with this place!

The portions are large and very tasty. I got the regular cod and my husband got the large and it was delicious. Cod was served skin on which we didn't expect but was still good. We got too many fries with such generous portions of fish. The mushy peas were good and hot.

Been coming here for the past couple of months, Good quality food and friendly staff. Could do with modernization.

Oh dear. I'd advise you keep walking and give this place a miss. How anywhere can get food quite so wrong is beyond me, but this place manages it. The fish was substandard, soggy, flavourless the chips? Well, it was nothing like a chip I've ever tasted. The Savaloy we ordered was watery and grey. We shant be rushing back.

Jody and his team delivered over 100 hot meals to our hungry quizzers on Saturday night. Before the event I found Jody to be professional and flexible, as the numbers changed regularly! On the night he turned up on time, and willingly helped to give out the food. It was a completely stress free experience, given the numbers. Sauces and vinegar etc were provided. There were many compliments about the quality of the fish and the fact that despite there being so many - all the food was hot. A great job and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

Excellent fish and chips at a reasonable price. Excellent value for money. Great friendly service. Short trip from Harry Potter Warner Brothers. Worth the trip. Aussie chip shops should be this good

Very good fish & chips. And good sevice. But my goodness me the size of it.!!! Two people can easily share a small cod & chips. My husband & i got 1 each and had to throw half of it out!!!!! Will defiently go back but only order 1 for us to share.

If you should find yourself driving into London along the A21, visiting the famous city, or returning perhaps from Kent and the coast, or France and beyond, and if as you are approaching Lewisham you are feeling tired and hungry (and it's worth hanging on, at least until you're so ravenous that you will eat the kids if you don't have something Now!), I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you pull in by the M&S garage on Lee High Road, and find THE LIGHTHOUSE FISH AND CHIPS (across the road from the M&S garage). They serve the best chips I've had in decades, the real thing, from the old days, and my old days are pretty damn old now, when chips were chips, if you catch my meaning. The ones we had last night we're freshly cooked, and maybe that's worth holding out for, but in any case, they were lovely big, fat, crispy outside, hotbeds of potato inside. And enough in one large portion that even my tired and hungry pal could not finish them. The saveloys we chose were top quality too, so I expect the same goes for the burgers and pies and chicken they offer. Or you could stop on your way out of the city for a boost of energy for the trip!
