It’s unusual to find an independent Christian Bookshop these days. Lighthouse is run by two paid staff and a host of volunteers giving a few hours each per week. We were scouting out Cupar for a church outing and popped in to the Lighthouse to support the local venture. The building is small but light and airy. Food is plain but very good. We enjoyed mid morning tea and scones (still warm, so presumably baked that morning) The volunteer lady who served us was very gracious and helpful. Prices are very low. Light lunches of soup, jacket potatoes or toasties are also available. Be warned, if you like real coffee, you’ll not find it here. And the toilet is bijou! But foe simple home cooking with good service in pleasant surroundings you won’t be let down.

The reason we chose this small bookshop and cafe for a spot of light lunch was that very nearly everyone before us, on Trip Advisor, had given it four stars ... and that was certainly an extra enough incentive to cross their threshold on a rainy Wednesday in the Month of September. 'The Lighthouse' operates from a nicely-refurbished, early-1800ish, traditionally-Fife-original-building staffed by ladies of good 'Fifer' humour and homely courtesy. The food choices are basic on the menu but when they are brought to one's table, good-humouredly and chatty like, the stuff proves to be excellent to a fault. Jane Crockett and her Charitable Trust are making a good go of this venture. Though the inside is not quite as well renovated as the outside wotk, it's clean and customer friendly and, above all, very good value for money. It is well worth handing top marks for supporting a venue such as this.

The working lunch you provided was thoroughly enjoyed by all attendees. The selection of sandwiches and cakes went down well with a lovely addition of sausage rolls and pizza. A really good variety with all tastes catered for. I will certainly recommend yellow for future working lunches.

Previously it had more of a pub feel which the large bar still holds on to. Table tops are a bit more utilitarian but the menu suggests high designs which it doesn’t quite deliver. Large portion of tasty starters but over priced and slightly over cooked steak with fish and chips where the batter on one side was over and the other side slightly under.

Tasty.... My friend and I visited here fir the 1st time. Very pleasant surroundings, equally pleasant staff. We sat through the back which was very nice. The coffee was really nice but the Rhubarb Loaf.....well!! It was amazing! I'll definitely be going again

Went for lunch but the place was closed. No sign at the end of the road to say so. It looks as if it could be closed for quite a while yet. Very disappointing. Signs to say closed and for how long at the end of the road would be helpful.
