Quality taste Chinese food. 👌 Have come here for many years, has been the staff working there and love coming here for a treat. Definitely recommend.

Great food in comparison to other Chinese restaurants I've been to, portions are good Value for money. Service is very friendly and they will go out of there way to make you feel welcome. Plus good choice on the wine but some wines won't be to everyone's taste, though we did like ours. If your looking for a good Chinese and some good all round Service this is the place to go...............

Got a set meal. Only got to the 1st course of soup and there was a hair in it. The place smelt of egg and something very bad. There was no lighting on in the toilets or upstairs and I nearly fell down the second set of steps. Also the man who served us was very rude to another customer when they came in whilst we was there. So I won't be returning completely gone down hill!

Haven't been here for ages since I was away from the UK for a decade. Had a craving for Chinese food and thought of Lee Garden - it's still really delicious!! We had peking wings (meaty and tangy), duck and soy sauce (tender duck but sauce needed a little more oomph), beef and asparagus in black bean sauce (super tender and really tasty beany sauce), kung po veg stir fry (surprisingly my fave of the whole lot). was really pleased to see this mainstay of Beverley cuisine is still great. will stay for a meal in the restaurant next time!

Quite simply the best Chinese restaurant in Beverley, if we are having Chinese takeaway this is the only place we ring. Food 10/10 Service 10/10

Terrible food, terrible service. Will not return. The service was really slow, service rude. The food arrived in stages. We didn’t get to eat at the same time. They didn’t care.

Best chinese I've had in years maybe best ever. Went in as a group of 8 gents and they feed us all and kept everyone happy throughout the whole meal. Honestly couldn't recommend enough.

Delicious food, popular with locals and friendly service. Unlike many Chinese restaurants, Lee Garden offers food that is just right (not too oily nor salty) and generous portions too. Located opposite to the lovely St Mary's church

First time for us as we just recently moved into the area. We hadn't booked. Luckily, they had space. Staff were very attentive, and we didn't have long to wait till our food was served. The food was delicious, both starters and main. Marked down for atmosphere, as no background music was playing, and we could hear the loud group of diners next to us chatting. Before they came in, it was too quiet! We will be back, as we thoroughly enjoyed the meal.

The starter was fine, the main xourse -Chicken curry tasted horrendous. At no point, did anyone come over to ask if everything was OK, when we had finished eating the waitress came over, I advised her i couldn't eat the curry and said why, she didn't say anything. When we were paying the bill, I said about the Curry, there was no apology or offer of a reduction to the final bill. I wouldn't eat here again. Bad service Terrible food. Not a good experience.

A lovely meal. The crispy duck was delicious and just how I remember it. We were a family in the early evening with a young child in a high chair. Nothing was too much trouble and I can’t recommend it enough. I love the fact that it hasn’t changed in the 20 years since I last went. If it ain’t broke- don’t fix it

Had a take away from here last night, will NEVER return. Food was bland and no taste to all meals, chips only just cooked, prawn crackers stale. The menu has no allergen information on it, yes I should of asked, I agree, however the chicken and garlic and honey came with cashew nuts throughout. I ate one thinking it was pieces of garlic... no information on menu to say contains nuts! Rang them back up to speak to them... I ended up having to pay for the meal again and go and collect it to find a meal that the chicken was hard and no flavour in the sauce. I am still suffering from my reaction to the nuts in the food! The worst part is no one has apologised or even shown any sign of concern!

We went to the Lee Garden for a family members birthday so there were six of us. We haven’t been there for years. Arrived for our booking at 8 pm and the restaurant was empty! Not one other table was being used. It’s such a shame as the food was gorgeous and staff really attentive. Plenty people were popping in for takeaways. As the food is so good I was surprised nobody else was dining in. 8 pm on a Thursday night…..

Hi; I had a Chinese takeout from lee garden and out of all honesty it was the worst Chinese I ever had. The salt and pepper chips were nice but portion was stingy and extremely small. The curry sauce was horrible .. one of the worst Chinese curry sauces I have ever had; tasted horrendous and was a weird colour. Beef curry was terrible as the beef was chewy; slimy and inedible as well as the curry sauce. Chicken fried rice; again was a disappointing I don’t think the rice had seen a woke it was more like boiled rice out of the packet and again the chicken had a weird texture. After one bite full of chicken it was spat on the plate and no more was eaten. Chicken chowmein was a really disappointing they used the same slimy chicken as was in the chicken fried rice and instead of using egg noodles they had used horrible noodles with a weird texture. On the other hand the salt and pepper fried chicken was lovely but I would not recommend this place as everything else was disappointing

This is just pure and utter rubbish where do I even begin! First of all, the chicken in both the chicken rice and chicken chow mane, was just slimy, and inedible which is disgusting.. also the beef curry was inedible, with the beef being purely slime and fat, and the curry sauce was just horrible, as though it was a pre made packet from tescos! I would not recommend eating here, i truly do not understand how they have good reviews serving such horrible food, wouldn’t recommend

Its been a long time since last going to Lee Garden. It won't be so long next time. The food was delicious! And the service was very attentive.

We have just moved to beverley and tried most of the Chinese takeaways with limited success, thought we would try Lee garden restaurant, not very flashy inside but my oh my the food is delicious and far better than any from the takeaway’s, we have been back three times now and they also do takeaways but no delivery

Food is tasty & excellent, arrived hot, speedy service. Busy with takeout orders too. SHOCKINGLY, unbelievably grubby Ladies toilet, sticky floor, filthy toilet, poor decor, not pleased at all with standard of hygiene. If I'd gone to the loo first I would not have eaten here. 4* for meal, minus stars for hygiene upstairs.

This Chinese restaurant has been in situ for many years and is family run Situated in the NorthBar area , next to the Beverley Arms hotel The restaurant itself is a little tired and in my opinion in need of a refurb , but don’t let first impressions put you off The food is AMAZING. There is no pre cooked and microwave here Every dish is freshly cooked ( even take away orders ) with authentic quality ingredients and portion sizes are very very generous , prices are very fair ( We used this restaurant last weekend while visiting family in Beverley having travelled up from London ) In London Chinese restaurants tend to bulk out dishes with large amounts of unwelcome onion , but not this restaurant - lots of good quality fresh ingredients The family are charming and nothing is to much trouble See beyond the tired decor and give this restaurant a try , you really won’t be disappointed

Really enjoyed my steamed sea bass cooked with ginger and spring onions. My companions had a beef dish and a tofu dish which they enjoyed. Starters good too. Nice green tea as well.

Had never visited here but was invited and decided to give it a try. The exterior has always looked classy so I was disappointed with the interior consisting of formica type tables with tubular legs. More like a cafe than a restaurant. However the food was excellent although the wine was not very good. Very little choice and poor quality. But the food was so good I will always return!

Neither of us had been for a sit down chinese is a number of years. This was a fabulous treat, forgot how nice it was to eat in and not just have takeaway! We ordered mixed starter to share and it was great. For mains we picked a couple of dishes so we could mix it up a little. All of it was spot on we couldn’t really say we didn’t enjoy all of it. I’d have given 4.5 if that was an option. The only reason it’s not a 5 is it does look like it hasn’t been updated in years, not that it’s falling down or anything far from it. We will go back again soon I’m sure

Had a meal here on our first night in Beverley as I had a hankering for Chinese food. The food was lovely, and VERY plentiful. We could not eat all we were given as the portions were huge. Prawn crackers on arrival were nice. Followed by a quarter duck and pancakes, which was lovely and the meat had been shredded for us. Then followed by Sirloin beef in ginger sauce, and chicken sweet and sour. Sweetcorn and baby mushrooms, and special friend rice. The special fried rice was a meal in itself as it came with huge chunks of meat on top (we ended up not being able to eat all that, as the other main portions were so big). Good value for money. Wine was reasonably priced. I felt the chairs, and plastic table cloth were a bit cafe like, but everywhere is trying to cut down costs and linen tablecloths would probably cost too much to service. Friendly service, and restaurant fairly busy.

We stayed over night in beverley and called in,the food was good and the staff very polite.if anything the place is a bit dark inside.

Hadn't been for years when I was working in Hull, but having couple of nights away in a Local Cottage as we live in Yarm, so we went for my wife's birthday, food and service still amazing, the various Seafood, Fillet Steak & Chicken dishes were superb. Thank You Very Much.

This is the 4th time we have been and every single time the food has been amazing. This feel like a family ran restaurant, it’s simple and cosy, but the food is always fresh, tasty and well presented! The price is quite reasonable too! I would highly recommend it and we will definitely come back in the near future :)

We ordered King Prawn with Veg, Sweet and Sour and Egg fried rice. All of them are very tasty and I'm glad to order foods with this restaurant 'The Lee Garden Chinese'. The staff is very friendly and efficient. We'll definitely go back again when we are in Beverley. The price also reasonable. Highly recommend!!

We were visiting Beverley and had not dined at the Lee Garden previously .... we were so glad that we did ! It has got to be one of the best Chinese meals we have had for some time. All the food was fresh, tasty...

Disappointing visit. Food lacked taste and flavour. Owner / waiter limited English. Unable to understand quality issue with food but still charged full price, with no apologies. Suggest you only visit if fluent in Catonese.

We ordered the Seafood set meal for 2 Staff were very attentive, nice atmosphere. Food was good, plenty of flavour, large portions and overall good value. Would reccomend.

Food and environment is clean, staff professional and courteous. Roast duck was shredded, tender, not fatty, with some crispy skin mixed in. For anyone who's had authentic 北京烤鸭 it won't be the same unfortunately, but it definitely fills a gap for anyone missing that dish! 宫保鸡丁isn't authentic as it seems it's adapted for local audiences, as are quite a lot of the dishes. I'd visit again but ask what they recommend from their menu that gets close to actual flavor dishes from China. Seems heavy on the sauces for the main dishes, which is often not the case in genuine Chinese cuisine. I'll definitely try again and leave another updated review in the future.

Very good Chinese on main drag. I had an excellent Lemon Chicken, satay chicken, hot and sour soup. All well up to standard. Good service and friendly staff coping well despite the covid restrictions.

Lovely takeaway from Lee Garden. BBQ ribs were cooked perfectly and the special chow mein was fresh tasting and delicious. Definitely worth a try.

Three years since we visited this restaurant - we don't live in the area. Still an excellent place for a Chinese Meal. Once again there were 4 adults and we started with half a crispy duck with pancakes, absolutely first class. We followed with chicken in garlic and honey sauce, sea bass in ginger with spring onions, chicken satay and aromatic crispy chicken together with egg fried rice and a dish of noodles. Everything was excellent, service efficient and unobtrusive, chopsticks on table with knife and fork provided for those who preferred. Drinks very reasonably priced. Can't wait for our next visit.

Nice place to eat, reasonable prices, nice staff

We went to Lee Garden on a Sunday Night the day before a Monday Bank Holiday. We got a table for 2 straightaway as there were only 3 other tables occupied with people who were finishing their meals. They took our order for wine and food very quickly but from then on we waited,,,and waited....and waited. We had ordered a 4-course vegetarian set meal, and the first course (sweetcorn soup) took 20 minutes to arrive. The next course (spring rolls) was another 20 minutes. When we complained, we got a meek apology, but the third course still took nearly 20 minutes after that. What we found the most frustrating is that there was only one chef in the kitchen, but he seemed to be dealing with the numerous takeaways that were going out of the kitchen at a steady rate! In the near 2 hours we were there, we counted at least 6 massive takeaway orders leaving the premises. In the end we gave up, demanded to pay for the food we had eaten (we paid around 2/3 of the bill for food). The staff did not even apologise or seemed bothered about it.It is a shame as the food was OK (not brilliant but very decent) but they could not manage on one chef only on a Bank Holiday weekend. The place used to be fantastic but the bad experience has put us off going back.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, couldn't fault the service at all. Food when it arrived was hot and very tasty. Overall food very good and definitely worth another visit, price was also very good, in keeping with other chinese restaurants I have visited.

We visited the restaurant without booking but were immediately seated. I had Vegetarian spring rolls which I have to say we're the best I've ever had, my husband had Chicken satay skewers which he found very tough and chewy. My main course was a mushroom curry, which again was excellent.

Food is always excellent, we are local and it is easily the best Chinese restaurant/ takeaway within the area. Food is fresh, loaded with veg and not a typical greasy style. I have not been disappointed yet we will continue to come back. Staff are always friendly and welcoming and the prices are very reasonable. Parking is easy and it is located right in the centre of Beverley. The only improvement would be offering a delivery service rather than just collection.

We visited on valentines night.... while the food was indeed very tasty the whole experience of sitting in a freezing cold restaurant in our coats did not make for a romantic occasion ! . The cold hit us as soon as we entered the door & we did consider turning around but felt too rude to go ahead. There was no heating on at all & the tiny plug in heater across the other side was not switched on. We spent the whole meal wearing our coats yet were still shivering .... I’m afraid for this reason we could never face returning

The worst Chinese meal I have ever had. All meals were poor quality- a waste of £38. The sweet and sour prawn was tasteless.The special rice was also awful.ordered curry also terrible.

Went here for a family get together, so there was 12 of us. The staff are very accommodating and did their best to get the food out at the same time - and were very keen to get things right. The specials board offered a few choices that you don't usually get, such as scallops and lobster, but otherwise it was - I hate to say it - average. The portions were of a good size and everything was cooked well, so no complaints. I would go again.

Went here for dinner this week, 3 off us had the sharing starter, spare ribs, crispy won ton, seaweed, spring rolls and also a portion of steamed Chinese dumplings all were excellent.

We have had a meal here this evening, we were slightly apprehensive because it was totally empty, so glad we didn’t let this put us off as the food was delicious, tasted like ‘old style’ Chinese food!! Served by a very pleasant gentleman. Would definitely eat here again!!
