There seems to be a bit of crossover here. There is The Lamb in Devizes and there is The Lamb in Urchfont. There are comments on here that mention both Lambs.

We stayed here for a night while on a driving tour of the Cotswolds with our two kids aged 8 and 5. The inn itself had a small charming rambling staircase that reminded this American not to pack such heavy suitcases! The rooms were comfy but the main attraction was the food. I'd call it English village comfort food with great options for both vegetarians and non vegetarians alike. Had lovely homity pie and my husband enjoyed the steak. Kids were happy with soup and fries and the treacle tart for dessert was a total winner. The pub is obviously the local gathering place of choice -while we were there, a group of local guys came in for a few pints, played some darts, shot the breeze and then promptly left after an hour or two--felt homey and cozy. Definitely would recommend if you are passing through the arrea.

A cracking little Juicer in a cracking little village! Always guaranteed a warm welcome so are the dogs, come to think of it, they get a warmer welcome than I do 😊 A good set of ‘locals’ with some jolly banter and wit and repartee. We drive past three other Wadworth pubs to get to this one. Love it!

This is could potentially be a fantastic village pub but when you walk in and see a baby having it's nappy changed on a table in the first room followed by some woman feeding a young child actually sat on the bar in the other it's never a great first impression. I appreciate that this is village pub that probably acts as a community hub but these sort of activities should not really be happening in a pub. Avoid.

Proper pub grub, beer well-kept and dog friendly. I had sausages and mashed potatoes( really mashed, not from powder), which was piping hot and delicious on a cold winter lunchtime. The malty and very local 6X bitter was a fabulous partner with the meal. A lovely respite for me.

This is a superb country pub, a really good selection of beers and although we only sampled sausage and chips, the food seemed great. Worth a visit if you are in this picturesque village.

Great traditional country pub with excellent food and beer. Had a splendid Sunday lunch with our family - beautifully presented and all piping hot and delicious. The only thing missing was the zucchini bread, but their alternative was even better!! We'll definitely be visiting again.

Visited for Sunday Lunch. Food and service were second to none A proper Sunday roast in a traditional country pub, not a plastic restaurant pretending to be a pub.

Each year in early September, we pitch up at a metal-detecting rally on the outskirts of rural, agricultural Urchfont. Many of us make our way on the Saturday evening to "The Lamb". They probably dread our annual arrival - dressed like Vikings and without their elegance or charm - but show no hint of that in their "Smiles for England" reception. It's a cosy traditional village pub with quiet nooks and crannies to eat and chat, at clean and comfortable wooden tables, yet never far from the agreeable "buzz" of happy clientele. The menu offers the sort of range one might anticipate from a village "local" but manages to be inventive, and is served with both generosity yet attention to detail. Locally sourced meats and vegetables are excellent. Local real ales are available. At peak dining hours, service is hectic but brisk , and the staff are constantly cheerful and pleased to oblige with special requests. If you visit Wiltshire and, for example, the hillside carved White Horses, you are close to "The Lamb at Urchfont". Good off-street parking in this Domesday village. Do pay them a visit; you won't regret it!

Maravillosa amable y acogedor pub a mi marido, yo y nuestro perro, Teddie.

We rented a cottage in the village and on arrival checked out The Lamb as a possible eating place. Talked to the Landlord about GF menu and he showed it too us. 10 Minutes later his wife appeared and said she could look after my GF wife anytime she wanted to eat there. The menu is basic English pub food. All very nice and in good quantity. Ended up eating here 4 nights and enjoyed the food and the pub. Staff were great with a special mention for Alex- she is lovely.

This is tucked away in Devizes. We went on a very cold night and sat by a decent fire and warmed up nicely. We soon got chatting to some of the locals and will go again. The only down side was that the bar staff were more interested in their phones that the customers.

From the outside this pub looks great - very old and genuine. However there is a fine line between a good, old fashioned, authentic pub and a gloomy old pub with a food menu from circa 1982. This pub in my view is on the wrong side of that line. The beer was okay but I wouldn't make the trip again I'm afraid. Shame, as it's a nice village and it deserves a better pub. This could be achieved without losing the original charm but would need some work before I would come back!

My wife and I renewed our wedding vows yesterday at the Church and then 61 or us went to the pub for a Sunday Roast.John and Julie had arranged the pub out and there was plenty of room for us all, the food was really good and they managed to feed everyone in 30 mins, even with a few moving the seating around and causing some confusion. They are a lovely couple and made everyone feel welcome. We plan to visit again soon for a meal. Thanks John & Julie :)

Called in for a bite to eat, it was Sunday and about 2:15pm, we were given a very warm welcome and ordered the Sunday roast. We decided to eat in the garden (very safe for small children as its completely enclosed). When the food arrived it was plentiful and delicious.Recommended

We went to the Lamb inn during the popular scarecrow trail. There was a very limited lunch menu which is understandable given the volumes they could be dealing with. The two times we went in it was fairly quiet and we all had sandwiches. We ordered chips which were nice except mine were a but anaemic, the sandwiches weren't buttered but otherwise the fillings were good. The waitress was very helpful and pleasant but the bar staff appeared hot and bothered. It's nice enough and we would go again during the scarecrow trail but wouldn't bother making a special trip otherwise

The Lamb is without doubt a pleasant building, lots of old features including its indoor shooting range, wooden settles and floors, walls festooned with curios and it can at times have a half-decent atmosphere. I have visited the pub many times over the years and unfortunately, even though I'm always of the opinion to give the place yet another chance, for me it never really meets expectations. For a Wadworth's house that is 500 yards from the brewery, the beer can be very inconsistent. I recently ordered a pint of 6X, you could smell the vinegar as it was being poured, and whereupon I told the barmaid quietly that the pint was "off", all I got for my trouble was " well, no one else has complained about it". She then actually told me that she would have to go upstairs and ask the landlady if it was OK for her to give me a replacement pint. It's expensive too, last time in there with my wife, there was no change from £7 for a pint of ale and a pint of cider. This is a small, back street boozer in a provincial market town, it's not in the West End of London. The barmaids seem to save the smiles and the "hellos" for the regulars, as all I ever see behind the bar are stoney faces. This is obviously a pub where your face either fits or it doesn't. With pubs across the UK in dire straights due to rising rents, beer tax and folk choosing to buy cheap alcohol from a supermarket to drink at home, you might think that they would welcome any customer to the bar, but not in here. Does this place serve food? - I don't know, I've never eaten here.I'm sure many of the regulars would decry my review here, maybe they sit in there several times a month, are regularly served quality ale and enjoy top service and a bit of friendliness from the staff, but I can only speak as I find I'm afraid, and when my wife says to me, " come on, let's drink up and go somewhere else" then that's a sure sign that she echoes my sentiments about the Lamb.

We visited Urchfont for their Scarecrow Trail on a lovely Spring Day. It is a lovely little village with a local shop you should really visit if you have time.We took some time out to have lunch at the Lamb Inn. The beer garden is family friendly and although their is no play area for the children, there is enough space for them to run around in. The staff are helpful and the pub itself has a nice atmosphere.I don't know if they changed the menu for the bank holiday weekend, but the food quality was very dissappointing, cheap ingredients and lacked effort, to the extent that I would definitely not recommend the pub for food. If the landlords brought the food quality up, this could be a pub to travel to.

The Welcome at the pub was very friendly and the atmosphere was also very friendly, the food menu is superb and can highly recommend the steak and Blue cheese sandwich - Excellent! The range of real ale and drinks is also of a very good standard. Sophie, who looked after us during lunch was very knowledgeable, friendly and has a great personality and sense of humour. I can't recommendenough stopping off for lunch or dinner at this great country pub.
