Fantastic food, atmosphere, staff. The beer is amazing! Our annual trip, such a treat. Good sized portions. The salmon is high quality. The best steak and ale pie I’ve ever tasted. So welcoming, to the dog as well. The beer is incredible, their own brew, if you like an IPA make sure you’re not on driving duty! Just one simply isn’t enough. If you’re visiting the area this place is an absolute must visit. Great hearty food with staff who are an absolute credit to their profession See you next year

The staff here are honestly so lovely, they really make you feel incredibly welcome We came out of season so there were not many people here (great for us though!), it would be really nice to see a steak pie on the menu with a pastry base ;-) (only because it’s my favourite and I’m not a fan of the pastry topper style), we had the fish and chips and the haggis (my partner said the haggis was the best and most authentic she’s had) The vibe/feel is super traditional and really lovely, I highly recommend the Lade In for those looking for a traditional pub, with a authentic lovely vibe

It was Sunday night at 7.30. Service was efficient and the meal was pleasant enough. However, although it was very cold outside the log-burning stove wasn’t on - perhaps because after 10 minutes we were the only customers. It was chilly inside too. The feeling that the staff were eager to close for the night was inescapable. I expect that if we’d timed our visit at lunchtime the experience might well have been better.

Stopped there for foods after visiting the highland cow/shop. (There’s no cows until march) 🫠 Food was okay but main star for us was the soup of the day which are cream of tomato soup. Soup felt like it was home made and not too overly sour, soup it self was smooth but still have alittle bits of onion in it . 10/10 for me. Fish and chip (haddock) was also great too really large and fresh and couldn’t fault it. I just wish there’s more Tatar sauce. Haggis ball was also good, recommend to try too if you are not a fan of haggis like me…it’s very delicious. If you enjoy this review please give me a thumbs up and a follow for more food adventures. This Would help me out a lot and greatly appreciated. 👍🛵

Popped into The Lade yesterday as we always tend to visit when staying in Strathyre. Intended to sit in the snug / bar for a few drinks while the pup snoozed by the fire, but ended up ordering the Bothy Duo x2; mushroom soup was absolutely delicious and the filled baguettes were very tasty. I also had a festive gingerbread latte, which came with a homemade chocolate truffle which was absolutely gorgeous - I'd thoroughly recommend trying them if you can. The staff are always lovely and they always tend to give the dog some love and affection. The choice of ales and whiskies are excellent. Can't wait to visit again.

Dined at The Lade Inn, nestled at the entrance to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, and it's like stepping into a cozy Scottish haven. Surrounded by the countryside, the inn is surprisingly spacious inside, giving you room to breathe and soak in the atmosphere. One unique charm is their own brewed beer, which adds an extra touch to your dining experience. The service was quick, friendly, and remarkably helpful, making you feel like you're among old friends. Walking in, you're greeted by a festive explosion of Christmas decorations, setting the perfect Scottish holiday mood. To complete the ambience, there's proper Scottish folk music serenading from the speakers. Now, for the food, I opted for the steak pie. The pie itself was a treat; you could taste the ale infused into the sauce, and the portion size was hefty. The meat was tender as a Highland embrace. However, the vegetables and fries left me wanting for more flavor. Price-wise, it was just a tad above the pub average, but the overall experience made it worth every penny. If you find yourself at Loch Lomond's doorstep, The Lade Inn is a warm, welcoming stop for a taste of Scotland. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Went in after a munro trip, taken straight to the table by very friendly staff, drinks on thr table in under 2 minutes of arriving, the waitress had a nice conversation with us asking how our day was. Food took about 20 minutes, absaloutly fine, I had fish, massive portions, struggled to finish the chips, freind had steak pie, again very large portion, fish was massive, main meal and 2 pints of Stella was £27, I think that's a fair price compared to some of the places I have eaten close to the lade Inn. We went in with hiking gear on, trousers coverd in dirt, the staff didn't care, some of the other dinners on the other hand gave us funny looks. Side note, to the people reviewing the lade in 1 star, if you are ignorant you will find ignorant, if you want 5 star + food, goto somewhere that's Michelin star, food is fantastic for the money.

The food was amazing. When I say amazing I mean 5*. Myself, who does not a fan of haggist I loved the starter haggis balls with the tasty whisky sauce, my burger was also very tasty and filling, and I tried the chicken goujons in battered coat and OMG the best chicken goujons I ever had. Worst Pint ever! Couldn’t drink it! Used to visit this pub and also buy beer from the shop years ago when we lived nearby and it was fantastic. Sadly no longer. My husband had a pint of Waylade which was very cloudy and apparently tasted pretty awful. He complained to the waitress who said to the barman and relayed back that it was always cloudy! He couldn’t drink it! We waited ages for food as did the other customers despite it being quiet and then my husband’s prawn baguette was less appetising than one from Greggs and had no garnish, salad or finesse. The waitress did try to help with gluten information and options and I settled for a burger with a GF bun but it came as exactly that - no butter, no sauce, no garnish. I declined the offer of boiled potatoes instead of chips and asked for a small cup of soup instead which she obligingly got after some deliberation ( hence the one star). When I went to pay I took the beer and explained that my husband found it undrinkable and the barman just shrugged and presented me with the card machine!!! If we hadn’t walked from Callander, we would have left after the drinks and I wish we had and just remembered how great it used to be! I almost never leave bad reviews and we had great meals out while in Callander fir 9 days but sadly not here and will never return or recommend this place as we had done previously.

Very sparse menu and strange host - spoke very loudly and quickly. There were three of us, two had starters as our mains were the Steak Pie which would take 20 minutes to cook and diners were advised on the menu to order starters while they waited. The Prawn Cocktails were over £9 each and were very poor - tiny prawns with rubbery texture and the “Marie rose” sauce was weirdly watery. The Steak pie was only average and priced at £16.50 with a few frozen chips and some vegetables. A very small draught (or possibly poured from a bigger bottle) lemonade cost a ridiculous £2.25. The place itself was dirty with flies both living and dead. We went there as the reviews appeared favourable - I have no idea why…

Tables sticky(wiping process defective). Had to "pull" the napkin off the surface! Handsome fireplace, well illuminated but seriously let down by the accumulated dust and unpolished hanging copper based pots and nicknacks. It was sad. Chicken goujons! In a batter but very very brown. Twice cooked ? not a successful look nor any taste of interest. Chips: Poor quality potatoes. Coleslaw: When buying in coleslaw at least be sure its "fresh". In all: a plate of food carelessly prepped, with no interest how it might taste or look. Sadly it matched the general poor quality of some Scottish/uk restaurants/pubs. Staff seemed content and unabashed with what they served. Heyho must remember to settle for a simple freshly made sandwich and just stop by the tree lined attractive river.

Lovely place to sit outside in the garden on a sunny evening. Food perhaps on the pricier end of the local pubs but very tasty, portions worth the money and the staff were so kind and friendly that it really made our visit a pleasure.

Really enjoyable Sunday dinner. We visited early Sunday evening. Didn’t book, but whilst busy a table was found for us. Quickly provided with our drinks, and we didn’t have to wait too long for our main courses, which were a Sunday lamb dinner. Nicely cooked...

We ate here twice on our week to Scotland, the food was great, I now love haggis. Staff were very friendly and attentive but not too attentive.
