Best breakfast and coffee I've ever had the Big Yin is amazing.

Food is cooked fresh to order and you can tell. Decided to go with the American pancake stack and it was amazing. The portion may look a little small however it is amazing value for money. £12 for fresh hot pancakes, herby sausage patty and crispy hashbrown. The only downside is the atmosphere was a bit dead but I’m blaming this on the time of day I went - it was still very inviting and comfortable and unfortunately the sausage patty was over seasoned but I truly think this is just my own taste !! is amazing though

Found this place on the Happy Cow app, so took a trip to go here, got the Vegan Pancakes and a coffee, the service was table service, the staff were lovely and helpful. A great diner to kick start your day!

So the opening hours state they’re open until 10pm. The first occasion we arrived at 9:10 from Liverpool and were told the kitchen closed early. We’ve come again today from Liverpool, spent £30 on train tickets and after arriving at 8:50 we’re told “drinks only sorry, you’ve got to be seated at 8:45” when it doesn’t state that anywhere online. Asked to speak to the manager and explained we’ve travelled from Liverpool only to get “sorry, I’ll take your email”. We’ve been a couple of times and had great service, after these last two occasions I don’t know if we’ll be back. The tacos are nice but it’s not worth wasting £30 to come to a restaurant for them to not be bothered at all and state they have nothing to do with the online opening hours

Really great vegan brunch / vegan fry up. Best tofu scramble I've ever had. Reasonably priced. Cheap drinks, including a vegan bloody mary which was great. Would highly recommend for vegans.

A bit late with this review but just over a year ago myself and my girlfriend took a trip to Manchester and ended up the iconic 'Koffee Pot' for a meal we would never forget! After walking in from a rainy Manchester morning, we were greeted with warm welcoming smiles by the staff who took our jackets and seated us straight away. With such a top vibe and friendly service we ordered two unbelievably tasty smoothies followed by the best brekkie in the town! After we were done eating we got chatting to a lovely chap who worked there called Sam, a gem of a bloke who gave us some pointers of where to go next on our journey. So easy to talk too, and such a genuine fella, it felt like we'd known him for years...with people like him there it's not hard to see why the Koffee Pot is still a top quality institution. Funnily enough, the day we were leaving we randomly bumped into Sam in a David Lloyd...it's as if he knew we wanted to say goodbye ;)

A super friendly diner with a great menu - I had the Turkish Eggs which turned out to be a great choice for brunch. Highly recommended 👍🏻

This place under promises on the outside and over delivers on the inside. It looks like your average high street cafe, then you step in to a quirky cool place to eat. Service was perfect & food was 5 star, definitely worth the money. I would recommend this place for breakfast we had the Manc Muffins and they are better than a McDonalds one.

They offer a delicious vegan English breakfast 😍 we come here everytime we visit Manchester. I only wish it included a couple more hashbrowns 🤭 This time we also tried their All American pancakes and they were also yummy. Their filter coffee is also good, and they don’t charge extra for oat milk! 🎉 On top of that, our waitress (white girl with dark hair in a braid) was super friendly with us and all her tables🫶🏻 We’ll keep coming back everyone’s we’re in Manchester.

What a great place, a proper fry up. Good menu for all day breakfast stuff. American waitress was fantastic, can’t fault the service at all. Will be back!

Evening food was just ok. No cutlery provided. Service was slow and part of the order was missed. The staff were friendly and helpful so maybe it was the kitchen sending out things slowly. Not the warmest of places, many people wire coats.

Tuesday 10th December 2024 Today, this Manchester cafe was used It is a big spacious friendly well looked after cafe with good toilet facilities The staff are on top of cleaning tables of used plates and friendly and polite. The cafe is in Manchesters northern quarter, so northern Quarters prices apply The cafe has a great choice of meat and vegan breakfasts I had the a ,,Big Yin, with a white pudding instead of A Black pudding. Tengo arfid y me resulta muy difícil comer en cualquier parte de Manchester porque todo es muy quisquilloso. No había opciones de lados en el menú para tostadas o hasbrowns, etc, que creo que sería una buena idea, sin embargo, la joven que nos sirvió era tan servicial y me ordenó algo que realmente aprecio! Lovely vegan meal, and reasonably priced

Why on earth would you forbid customers from having baked beans with two of your most expensive breakfasts? I don't even care about the no substitutions policy. All I really wanted was haggis and eggs, but OK that's not allowed, so the big yin and don't have the stuff I don't want... Sausage, square sausage, tomato, black pudding, same price... Fine (well, a bit crap but understandable), but still only 1 egg and you can't order beans. If you want beans have a full English. If you want haggis have a big yin. You can't have both. Waitress obviously totally uninterested in helping. So make sure you want *exactly* what's on the menu. I wasn't even told I could remove things until I'd basically complained. Very very disappointed and so unnecessary. I was perfectly happy to pay whatever it cost, but no.

Had the Big Yin because I was craving some haggis and needed to fuel up for a big day. Every meat was savory and cooked to perfection. If you're looking for a more well-rounded meal, you may want to get something else as it did end up being quite a bit of meat. The portion sizes are deceptively big for the price, I wasn't even close to getting through it all! The staff was really attentive despite how busy the place was. Would definitely come back to try that Manc Breakfast next time I'm in town.

We arrived at the front door to see a please wait to be seated stand. We waited round for a couple of minutes when every staff member started giving us weird side eye looks and dirty looks as if we were committing a crime. All I wanted was a nice lil breakfast in the morning but clearly wasn’t wanted. After a total of 10 minutes of standing around waiting for a seat we were rudely told that they weren’t sitting people at the moment and told to wait to the side. There was at least 6-8 tables free but clearly way too busy to serve us I don’t know how long we would’ve waited if we would’ve stayed but one of the worst experiences I’ve had and the staff clearly need some people skills because whatever they’re being trained is disgusting just no respect for customers at all.

Llegamos a la puerta principal para ver un por favor espere a estar sentado. Esperábamos un par de minutos cuando cada miembro del personal comenzó a darnos miradas extrañas y miradas sucias como si estuviéramos cometiendo un crimen. Todo lo que quería era un buen desayuno por la mañana, pero claramente no quería. Después de un total de 10 minutos de estar esperando un asiento, nos dijeron groseramente que no eran personas sentadas en este momento y nos dijeron que esperáramos a un lado. Había por lo menos 6 - 8 mesas libres, pero claramente demasiado ocupado para servirnos, no sé cuánto tiempo hubiéramos esperado si nos hubiéramos quedado, pero una de las peores experiencias que he tenido y el personal claramente necesita algunas habilidades de la gente porque lo que sea que estén siendo entrenados es repugnante, simplemente no respeto por los clientes en absoluto.

Los tacos están fuera de este mundo. Personal encantador, la carne de res birria con el consumo simplemente fenomenal. ¡Quizás hasta los mejores tacos de MCR!

Fuimos a desayunar, la comida era genial y el servicio al cliente de Halle era 1 clase de calle. Volveré a ir de nuevo cuando en Manchester, lo recomendaría a fondo.

Came here this afternoon for tacos 🌮 but was too early 😫 Stayed and had a late breakfast, I had a full English and my wife had pancakes 🥞, Both were absolutely spot on, Staff are excellent and really nice..

Nice food with a decent atmosphere however during our brunch today when we asked to remove the optional service charge which we felt was not necessary considering the fact service was of basic standard, the waitress tried to sneak the service charge in anyways and when we tried to bring it up she told us to “check our maths”. Funnily enough when we triple checked everything was correct when she returned the bill was now what we said we owed and that it was never the price she had originally said. And when we were leaving we noticed she was visibly talking rudely about us to her coworkers. As someone who works in hospitality myself I find it Distasteful.

Amazing to get a michelada with a big Irish breakfast which was absolutely delicious and I didn't have to eat anything else that day and we went out dancing all night long! I've always been skeptical about haggis but I'm a fan now! Lovely place with great service. We recommend strongly!

Lovely place with good food, had great experiences before. Today our waitress was very rude though, we asked to take the high (and also optional!) service charge off, and she instantly switched up and started blaming us for her mistakes. She also then clearly went to gossip with her coworkers about us. Ruined our brunch!

Second time back to the Koffee Pot. Just what you need after a long night on the sauce. Had a Big Yin with added Spam (no egg as they are farts in solid form), simply lovely. Wife had a vegan brekkie which she said was great.

Best Beef Bira Tacos in Manchester, will ALWAYS go back just because of how absolutely amazing they are. Nachos are good too and the cocktails are pretty good especially when it’s happy hour! Service could be a bit friendlier but it doesn’t take away from the amazing food. 10/10

Tried this place because of the reviews and we were disappointed. Not a particularly warm welcome, service wasn't amazing, food was rubbish - as we walked in I clocked abandoned plates with maybe a mouthful eaten, that should have been our heads up that the food wasn't great but we gave it a try anyway. Menu states don't ask for alterations or substitutes..... how wasteful if you don't like particular food items, you can't ask for your meal without them. Rather ridiculous. Music is quite loud but decent, it's a little on the chilly side and napkins and cutlery looked a bit grubby. Given the service isn't all that, the charge/tip automatically added to the bill isn't it. Didn't question it, paid and left. We wouldn't return.

A Manchester institution. The Turkish eggs and the Manc muffin are a standout. The Irish breakfast isn’t great or the Oreo milkshake. But the bloody Mary’s are 10/10.

Helpful staff, bit expensive but the closest thing to a proper cafe still going in the North quarter, so much more character than other places around there.

A little pushy and stressful service, the waitresses are running everywhere, maybe they are a little stressed themselves? Pay attention to your employees! Otherwise very friendly. Mid-range food, a smoothie with 3 ingredients for over £6. I found it to be expensive overall for what it was. Super cool decor but noisy atmosphere.

Un gran lugar para el desayuno. Fuimos el domingo por la mañana. Estaba ocupado, pero el personal afortunadamente logró conseguirnos una mesa. Uno de nosotros desayunó vegetariano y yo opté por el escocés (haggis, salchicha cuadrada... las obras). Ambas comidas deliciosas. El personal era excelente también y el lugar tiene un ambiente muy relajado y amable. Tenga en cuenta que solo toman tarjetas no efectivo para el pago. Definitivamente volveré.

Had the Irish breakfast with scrambled egg. Was huge plate full. My friend also had the Irish but with fried egg and my other friend had the English with scrambled eggs. Only had one small issue the soda bread was a bit overdone but to be honest I don't think I could have eaten it anyway. No room! They knock few quid off which was great. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

Shared a few beers with a large group of tennis grown up blokes last Friday evening. Food was simple but so tasty, all hoovered up quickly by the group. Staff were excellent, looking after a group of noisy but happy chaps. To enhance your evening try a 'pickleback' Koffeepot special drink. Guaranteed to clear your tubes out. Fun night had! 👍

this place feels straight out of a movie! lovely food spot in nq with really nice staff and a great menu! i ordered the plant-based all american which was a really exciting dish as vegan breakfast options are mostly avocado-on-toast central. enjoyed every bite but would recommend going easy on the syrup and just dipping rather than drizzle !

Easily the most useless waiting staff I have ever experienced, waited 23 minutes whilst asking on 3 separate occasions to order. Eventually left without ordering after server decided to clean table and told us she had other things to do first.

I visited here to try the tacos which were 25% on a Tuesday. It was pretty busy when we arrived around 5pm. We were seated quickly. We ordered the beef birria tacos, the chicken tinga tacos and the Truck fries. The fries were yummy with a spicy salsa that I loved. The tacos were OK, very cheesy but not much flavour. The salsa that comes with them wasn't great, would have loved some of the spicy one from the fries. The chicken and goat is halal here.

Absolutely incredible food served at Birria Bros. Always filling, fresh and packed with flavour. Could not recommend more.

Nicest people ever run this place

Very nice atmosphere and decor. Service took a *slight* knock as the server only put the drinks order through and not the food, so we were waiting ages, but they were very nice and honest about it and gave us a free drink and discount on the bill so more than made up for it. I got the Big Yin (whatever the Scottish one is called). It was nice, but a little dry. I'll definitely be back to Koffee Pot but I'll just get something else. Be prepared to wait as they don't take bookings and it's always chocca

Average food, slow service & expensive for what it was. Small portions, average quality & taste. Proceeded to get the order wrong, and brought over someone else's food and drink. Also added an expensive service charge for a single meal. Probably wouldn't go again.

Been to this place a few times and it's always gets very busy. Some times it gets that busy that some customers have to be put on the reserve list. Its got a fine mix of people from all walks of life and as a great vibe about the place with its ever changing fairy lights running across the ceiling to the old school wooden chairs to its murals .The service is good and not to long to wait for your food. Can be a little on the pricey side but that don't stop people queueing up to get in, not in a bad location on Oldham Street Manchester well worth a visit. Its like one of the holiday cafes you get in benidorm . Good service, Good people. Great place. 👍

The place is and will always be amazing!! Budget friendly food and the best cocktails. We went for dinner and genuinely had a great time!! The food is finger liking good, and the best part is they got a gluten-free menu and vegan menu catering to our needs. The cocktails were simply amazing xx. The waiting staff were great, too. A bit loud with the music, but apart from that, it's really good. Definitely recommend.
