We booked EGO for a funeral wake, with a buffet catering for about 150 people. The service was impeccable, the food superb, and the ease of organisation exemplary. It made the day run so well, and I cannot thank the staff enough.

The food as usual was really lovely and in fact everything was perfect. We both had medium fillet steak which was really tender and flavoursome. The onion rings were cooked in really crispy and light batter. The mushroom was large and well cooked and the cooked tomato was just the right consistency - not too soft that you can't get it on your fork and not too undercooked that it might as well be a salad! The skin on chips were also gorgeous. We had different desserts. I had the tiramisu and my partner had the brownie sundae. Both were very filling but a lovely end to the meal. The Merlot we had a lovely flavour to it. The service was quick and precise.

As always, Ego at the Knowles deliver superb food, fabulous atmosphere and most importantly, excellent customer service. All those guys and girls go the extra mile to make your visit as nice and as relaxed as possible. They know how to look after the customer. Highly recommended.

Having been for Sunday dinner on several occasions we were looking forward to a delicious meal. However, we were disappointed with the time the meal took to arrive , over one hour for roast beef dinner. The vegetables and potatoes were hard and the beef was a very poor cut, grisly and fatty. On informing our waiter he apologised stating they had received earlier complaints, one being the vegetables being overcooked! Clearly there was an issue in the kitchen with timings. The place itself was spacious, with a good choice of meals. Good disability access. Service was good. On this occasion we were very disappointed with our meal.

Friendly and helpful staff and excellent food. Shame about the noise level, but all Ego restaurants appear to be the same.

Still a very hugh standard of food and service since Mitchell's took over. Good menu choice for all. Sad to see the Moorhouses beer isn't on now but the Black Sheep was kept well. We will be back.

On arrival we where warmly greeted and asked to wait a short while as it was very busy,we got a drink from the bar while we waited.We didn't have to wait long and we where shown to our seats.My wife has to use a stick to help her walking and the manager offered his arm to help my wife up a few steps to our table.The afternoon tea was very good,a good selection of finger sandwiches and delicious cakes overall a lovely afternoon one which we shall repeat in the future.

Another great visit to Ego at the Knowles Arms. Attentive, friendly staff as always and superb food with a great menu. The atmosphere is lovely - this is our third visit and will be coming again soon! Thanks to all the team.

Perfect afternoon catching up with friends we opted for the bar area to allow us relaxed dining and it was exactly that! Wine we always feel is a little over priced but the food is great! We opted for sharing platters and sides to graze whilst chatting delicious!

First visit for a while but an excellent experience. A friendly welcome, the restaurant was busy but the service was great. The food was tasty, hot and served auite quick. There was a promotion on main courses from the menu so it was good value too. Thank you to all concerned 😊

incredible service. 20 guests, we were asked to preorder, they provided a link for me to send to my guests for them to complete themselves. when they brought the food over, they then stated the names of who it was for! the perfect organisation for such a big party. they made my birthday meal seamless and i couldn’t recommend the restaurant anymore. the staff were also so friendly and nothing was too much.

Went for Sunday lunch, a few years ago went for drinks on a Sunday, I was impressed with what I saw regarding those ordering the Sunday roast meal. Well it was not the same as I saw previously, ordered roast beef, my wife ordered trio of meat and asked for her beef to be well done, the menu states “AGED PRIME ROAST RUMP of BEEF Served pink with horseradish dish” well my very small slices of beef arrived, (25 minutes after starters were cleared away) extra well done, dark and curling, barely edible, no horse radish sauce. I am not one to make a fuss, however when the waiter enquired as to how the food was, my wife promptly stated that my beef was not as described on the menu, they arranged to provide another serving, without fuss and in good grace, yet the replacement was much better than the original, it was not pink as per the menu, and the Yorkshire pudding that accompanied the meal for both of us, was hard and brittle, clearly dried out and became a batter biscuit and not a pudding, when you attempted to cut it, it broke and crusty bits flew everywhere. I van only assume the beef may have been pink when carved and the Yorkshire puddings at the correct texture but were left under the heat lamps too long which continued the cooking!!! So needless to say, highly unlikely to return. The staff on waiting service were very nice, pleasant and professional which was the only positive of the experience

We all had a lovely time starting with cocktails and beers in the bar then moved to the restaurant for our meal. The food was very good, service excellent and the atmosphere was also good. Will definitely been going again in the future.

We went for the kebabs night, as usual the staff were lovely, they are cheerful and extremely efficient especially under pressure. The food was great and received extra salad when I said I don’t care for tortillas. The only concerns we have is the cost of drinks they are shockingly high for a lower priced food establishment. The one thing that hasn’t gone up very much in Supermarkets are wines and spirits I’m paying the same now as we were last year, and could get a bottle of wine for the price of a glass. Great welcome on arrival and swiftly seated. Water delivered whilst we reviewed the menu and following a good explanation of specials our order was taken. Drinks arrived swiftly, staff very friendly, smiley and attentive to our needs. Food was lovely, a variety of staters then 3 kebabs and beef bourguignon accompanied by a variety of chips- plentiful, tasty and hot. Staff checked frequently to ensure our food was ok and to ask if we needed anymore drinks etc. Refreshing to encounter service at this level. Will recommend and return

2 visits, two weeks apart, both served gorgeous food, beautifully seasoned and presented. The staff are warm, welcoming and nothing is too much trouble for them. They consistently impress me at ever visit...this time was a birthday celebration, meaning I got my meal for free. Food, service and ambience were excellent. Went with my husband and a 17 year old. There was something for us all. Only downside, I walk with crutches & slopes were incredibly slippery. Need a good power wash, I could have fallen.
