We ate two nights in the restaurant. The menu may be a little limited and the nights specials did not change but the food was very good quality. It was tasty, well cooked and hot. The eventual bill was a pleasant surprise being quite economical for what we had. A major advantage of this restaurant is the staff. All we friendly and attentive and obliging to our needs. Thoroughly recommend it.

it is a best western, their menu is limited and prepared without variation on a limited formula. if you need refueling, great, if you want to enjoy the meal, go elsewhere

There is a limited choice of dishes but the menu is being reviewed by the new chef. We had a couple of dinners here and the food is very tasty. There is an offer to modify the ingredients to cater for dietary needs and it is obvious the food is prepared on sight rather than brought in. The provision of delicious fresh herby bread with oil and balsamic vinegar was a real plus point. The restaurant is small and the staff are friendly and professional.

Interesting items on the menu and NOT just standard pub fare. The full English Breakfast was excellent

Good place to eat in a relaxed atmosphere, no fuss, mostly traditional English fare. try their Sundat roast lunch for a friends/family get-together. Timing range of evening dinner hours is good for families, 6.30 - 9pm, with excellent bar alongside, great food at reasonable prices. Cheerful helpful staff and lots of free easy parking.

lack of choice for food, missing items that were on offer on the menu food was poorly cooked , my husband asked for medium rare steak, the steak arrived raw on the inside and burnt on the outside, my chicken was hard and crusty on the outside with a thick tasteless sauce

Recently visited Brome Grange on a groupon deal for afternoon tea. Had read many bad reviews on here but thought we would try it out non the less. Travelled from Ipswich with my friends and got dressed up expecting we were in for a treat. On arrival we were shown straight to our seats and were the only ones there. Within minutes sandwiches and cakes were brought out on the table. The sandwiches were chilled so no doubt had been pre done and keep in the fridge! Between 4 of us we were given 12 fingers of sandwiches, cheese and tomato, ham and mustard and tuna. The bread was soggy from where the tomato had been on the bread for a while and the tuna was plain and boring! The scones were over cooked and had clearly been placed in the micro wave to heat them up. As soon as I lifted the scone off the plate it crumbled into 4 pieces!! The cake selection also came with 2 cubes per person of coffee cake and what tasted like almost like sticky toffee pudding. These cubes were very small in size and personally believe it could have been shop brought cake too! After finished our 3 fingers of sandwiches, scone and dry cakes... We asked if we could have some more sandwiches as was very hungry! The young man went to ask the manager. He came back to say they were very busy and there would be a wait... With that we said fine we are happy to wait but would there be a cost... He had to go ask the manager again! This time he came back to advise it would be an additional £2.95 per person for 3 more fingers. We soon said no thankyou and we will go McDonald's on the way home! When we went to pay the manager was very rude. We said we had a groupon deal but only for 2 people. When id called up to advise the lady said I could book for 4 and they would honour the same price. Julie wanted to know who'd told me this and clearly didn't believe this was the case. She then infront of us starting accusing the girl that she'd told us saying she shouldn't have then looked through the booking book she was trying to work out who'd took the booking. Really unprofessional and rude! They honoured the price of £11 for 2 people and we left in disgust! I can honestly say we will not be visiting this place again. I found the staff rude and the food was just not up to standard. I appreciate we had a groupon deal.. But surely the purpose of that should be to impress people so much they want to go back again?? This was not the case and would not recommend this to anyone looking for a nice treat as you really do get better food and service at McDonald's!! Rest assured on the way home we all enjoyed a double cheese burger!!

We went for afternoon tea on the on 22nd october. The sandwiches were cold like they had come out of freezer. The cakes were a burnt dry scone a piece of flan which fell apart when you tried to pick it up and a brownie which was dry all served on a cheap plastic two tire plate. The tea coffee was ok but we were given melamine cups to drink it in which had tea/ coffee stains in. The whole thing was a mess. We were not asked if everything was ok or if we wanted anything else. This was bought for us by friends on Groupon as a treat. The mangement need to go out for afternoon tea and see how it should be done.

This is a really friendly and welcoming pub, good food and a great atmosphere. What more could you want at a pub? Oh yeah, friendly, helpful and approachable staff - got that in spades here as well!!!

The duck and teapot is a lovely place to visit and have a coffee. I visit nearly every day as I work from home I walk round the lake and then stop for a coffee. The staff are so friendly and helpful,
