Stopped by after a long walk from our village, upon entrance greeted with Sky TV and a pool table in the middle of the room, village elders looked at us like UFOs !! Young lad behind the bar was very good.

Avoid avoid avoid. We were a group of five ladies who wanted coffee tea or beer after our walk. The landlady told me the coffee machine was broken. I asked for tea and she said she would send a ticket to the kitchen but as the restaurant was full it would take ages. The landlady told one of our party that she couldn't serve us coffee or tea as she was too busy! In fact the coffee machine wasn't even broken. Our party left the awful unfriendly pub and will never return. We are a local club of 160 members and I am sure this rude and unwelcoming attitude will be spread to others.

Last minute decision for Sunday lunch. Lovely cosy atmosphere and very pleasant welcoming staff. Lunch was delicious with extra gravy served separately. Could have been a little more generous with the vegetables but all perfectly cooked. Service a little slow on the pudding side but waitress was so lovely not a problem at all. Will definitely visit again in the near future!

We were visiting friends nearby who recommended this pub to us for Sunday lunch. It was a delicious meal and all staff were lovely. The meat was great quality, gorgeous Yorkshires and the veg was not overcooked as is often the case. Everyone working there made us feel very welcome- we will definitely return as this is one of the best Sunday lunches we have had in some time. Thank you for a lovely meal and great service.

My husband and I are on a canal boat holiday and today he slipped and hurt his back quite badly on the side of the boat. He has been in agony all day. I walked into Yelvertoft hoping to find a shop where I could buy Ibuprofen and whisky but the village shop has closed down and the little butchers-come-general store was closed. I went into the Knightley Arms and explained my plight. There were 3 locals enjoying a drink and a lady working behind the bar. I was overwhelmed by their kindness! One of the locals (a driving instructor) went out to his car and gave me some Ibuprofen he always has readily available and the bar lady emptied a bottle of water, which was a sellable item, and put some whisky into it for me to take back to the boat. Everyone was very concerned for my husband and again, I can’t say how lovely it was to receive such kindness. My husband is now enjoying the whisky, which will hopefully help to work as an anaesthetic overnight! Thank you to the kind people of Yelvertoft. We will never forget you and hope that one day we can come and enjoy a meal in your lovely pub. With much thanks

We are new boaters moored just outside yelvertoft. We visited Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd July. Both times the staff and locals were fantastic. Locals friendly and good laugh, staff friendly and attentive. I had Sunday roast, Mrs Jones as always had the salmon salad. Both were lovely! And reasonably priced in this economic crisis. We fully recommend mooring up and visiting for good food drink and company.

Excellent food staff and service - just spent a day on a barge and couldn’t have received a better welcome by this friendly pub despite not being a local. We were served delicious pizzas and friendly service with a huge smile and staff could not be more accommodating !

We used the pub for a family lunch after attending a memorial service locally, and we have no hesitation in recommending it with five stars and an Excellent rating. J and C pulled out all the stops to make our large group (22) feel welcome, and catered for a range of ages and dietary requirements. I think we chose at least one of everything on the mains and dessert menus and every plate was empty when it went back to the kitchen. It was all delicious, the fish and chips with the special recipe batter went down really well, as did the gluten-free margarita pizza. Thank you J and C for rounding off a sentimental occasion so well, and I mustn’t forget P for her sterling work behind the bar for keeping the refreshments coming! Best of luck with your future endeavours, you deserve great success.

Just awful attitudes. Bar staff very 'woke' and opinionated, landlady quick to judge. Advice is to avoid it. (unless you are a local). Strangers are scrutinized thoroughly, and opinions are formed.

What a little gem , in the middle of a village with a lovely pub garden. Sunday roast was delicious with pork that just fell apart and amazing crackling - not to mention the awesome cauliflower cheese a must have for any pub roast!! Cosy fireplace and warm friendly landlords and attentive kind bar staff. Definitely a place to visit for a warming hearty meal this winter or just a Cosy drink in the evening.

Came here this evening for pizza night while away on the canals. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Unfortunately they had a technical problem with the pizza oven but went out of their way to find us some alternative food, which was excellent. Owners have not had the business long but are clearly trying to make a go of the place and put back the local pub in the village. Best wishes to you. We will be back when next in the area.

A pleasantly refurbished interior, a spacious outdoor seating area, an extensive menu, excellent food and friendly, attentive service. It will not be long before this pub/ bistro is thriving with customers from near and afar. We went for a lightish lunch and had a 2 course meal from the lunchtime saver menu. It was good quality and good value with a selection of starters and mains to suit most people. The pudding options looked good too. There is also a specials board and more traditional bar food and snacks. It would be great if this becomes a "go to place" in the village for all ages and interests. Certainly it is being run with that aim and hopefully it will get the support from the local community to help it survive and thrive.

A real asset to the village under the new management. Took our family there for lunch and a drink. Very attentive reception. . Children catered for with carafes or flagons of soft drinks. Excellent food prepared by the new chef Jason. Only fish and chip and burgers but. Very tasty. A good safe area for the kids to play on the slides and swings. Highly recommend. The total bill lower than i expected. Ok I’m biased. I have a big soft spot for the landlady. 😉😉. Jen. She is doing a fantastic job. . Keep it up.
