It’s just a lovely place to be. Absolutely deserves 5* for food, service and the general atmosphere. Thank you for a lovely morning coffee and cake for our son.

The Kitchen recently made a fantastic bespoke 30th birthday cake for my daughter. Cake decoration was so creative and incredibly well done. Also cake was dairy and gluten free and it tasted great. Birthday girl was so pleased. Thanks to all involved

My mum and sister were invited to enjoy an afternoon tea and absolutely loved it. My mum has had the opportunity to try afternoon teas in many fancy places, however, she stated that this was one of the best experiences she has ever had. Linda made them feel incredibly welcome, as did the two staff members, Lily and Lil, who served them. Every single item on the table was locally sourced and freshly made each day at the venue. Something you can taste when eating the cakes, scones and sandwiches, which are simply delicious. Leaving with boxes filled with leftovers, I know it won’t be long before they go back for more, as they were so impressed by it all. Linda should be incredibly proud of everything she has created. It is truly fantastic and we couldn’t recommend it enough.

We visited The Kitchen Croxley for a Valentine's Day afternoon tea. The food was lovely and the quantities just right - we finished just before the point of feeling overfull! (Though they would have boxed any leftovers for us anyway). Plenty of finger sandwiches, 2 scones each with jam and cream, 3 types of cake, as much tea as we could drink and a glass of prosecco (as we booked early) all for under £30 a head, which was excellent value. The place was busy and clearly very popular with the locals. Highly recommended.

My Mother in law is housebound so we weren’t able to take her out for afternoon tea which was a dream of hers so we thought we’d surprise her with an afternoon tea at home. Cue a trip to the Kitchen who couldn’t have been more helpful. The sandwiches, cakes and scones were absolutely amazing and delicious but to be honest as customers who love the Kitchen that didn’t surprise us. What blew us away was the care taken over every detail, ringing to check the sandwich fillings were appropriate, letting us borrow a cake stand, making sure it was beautifully presented even down to the tea bags. My Mother in law has had a terrible time and I can’t express how blown away she was by her treat. We can’t recommend the Kitchen highly enough. You won’t be disappointed.

Went with two friends for Afternoon Tea. It was so lovely. Had so much to eat, sandwiches were lovely and fresh, the scones were so yummy and the cakes were amazing. Lovely presentation and lovely staff. Would definitely return.

Superb service from our waitress Jemma, combined with a wonderful atmosphere and great food. Even allowed me to “tweak” the menu to suit my personal tastes. Will come again.

Was visiting my sister who lives locally and stopped off for a bite to eat and a catch up. Can highly recommend the panini and home made cakes and specifically the sticky toffee sponge, was delightful. Wonderful friendly staff made it feel very homely. Few gifts for sale too in shop to take home, will definitely be back when visiting area next time

Waiting for my daughter who was next door at the dentist, brought my little grandson in for a snack. What a little gem of a place, a real find. The food was delicious. Only tiny gripe is the service, which was very slow and things came in a fairly random order. Coffee, but not the cake we expected to be served with it. The toasted sandwich for my very hungry and tears-theatening little grandson was delcious but took forever to arrive although the babychino was perfect for him and arrived instantly. Lovely laidies running it. I'd certainly go again if I was in the area. Would have loved to have given it five stars!

During the lockdowns my wife and I decided to try lots of takeaway afternoon teas as we were not able to go out for them. The Kitchen Croxley was a bit far for us so I hesitated but I am so glad we finally tried it. For me this was the best of the bunch. The sandwich filings were delicious as were the cakes and best of all, there was a choice for plain scones and they tasted so fresh, soft in the middle and fluffy. I don't know what brand of tea was supplied but it was great and really complemented the scones. Malty, refreshing and aromatic.The only thing I would have liked is bigger sandwiches. I thought they were cut super thin, which was a shame as they were so good!Highly recommend The Kitchen Croxley, will definitely be ordering again.

A real gem, had an amazing afternoon tea with friends which easily rivals other venues I've been to. The room was light and airy and very clean. All the food was really fresh, the sandwiches, cakes and scones were delicious and plentiful -we were given a box to takeaway what we couldn't eat. The service was top notch, the staff were friendly and attentive but did not make us feel we had outstayed our welcome even though we were there a long time!I would highly recommend The Kitchen to everyone.

Just what you want from a local coffee shop cum tea house cum lunch venue. They really go out of their way to provide excellent service and lovely food. Its super civid-safe ... so it will be wonderful to get back to seeing the whole cakes on the counter again, rather than everything having to be individually wrapped. If you haven't been here yet for coffee and cakes, get along! ... its well worth it.

As the cafe has a closed due to the pandemic my daughter collected our afternoon tea from the kitchen and brought it to me.It was excellent very generous choice of sandwiches ( 4x différent choices which probably varies) and 2x lovely fresh scones with jam and clotted cream the cake selection again 4x choices and very generous portions all prepared fresh and delicious I give it 5 stars with no problem. A great treat when we really need it.

We were in London area for the weekend as a Valentine's treat. A google search brought us to this delighful place. Heavy rain, flooding and so many issues as a result. We had had great emails from Linda. We walked in and felt so welcomed, a great tea rooms. Afternoon tea with Teapigs tea bags made a great pot of tea. Nice china cups and plates. Sandwiches excellent, scones, cakes brilliant. We had to have a box to take things away. Lovely conversation with Linda, felt this was how to make people feel good and special.And to crown it all; the sun came out as we finished. Great experience, great food and tea, great place to go.

I organised a surprise 60th Afternoon Tea for my boss and 17 other ladies at The Croxley Kitchen last weekend. The food was lovely and all freshly prepared, the staff were very attentive making sure we had enough tea & coffee, then even allowed me to put photos up on the walls and sprinkles all over the tables. I have only given this review 4 stars because i feel it was expensive given the venue & location.

A friend hired The Kitchen Cafe recently for her birthday celebration. The handmade sandwiches, cakes and scones, and the tea and coffee were all spot on. The staff were friendly, polite and helpful. Visited today as had a fancy for a cream tea, our first visit and I did like the feel of a real original type tea room, at first we were disappointed that they had no scones as my tastebuds were all geared up for fresh scones with jam and clotted cream, I was amazed and more than pleasantly surprised that the owner (lovely lady) actually made us YES MADE US freshly baked scones so we sipped our very nice tea whilst waiting for beautiful hot fresh scones, we out a lot but I really can't think of anywhere that has catered for a customer more than this establishment, so absolutely I give top Mark's and will certainly be returning.

I visited here today with my mum for afternoon tea. It was beautiful! Staff were lovely and so friendly, it wasn’t busy at all so had the place to ourselves. It’s such good value for money and would definitely be visiting again! Tea was perfect, cakes were delicious and the Prosecco went down a treat.

I needed a special cake for a special friend's 50th birthday and The Kitchen made a beautiful, semi-naked, cake that everyone loved. It not only looked amazing but it tasted beautiful. The shop is so inviting, and tempting, and I will be returning with some friends to spend more time to eat my way through all they have. Friendly staff and wonderfully home-baked delicacies.

Just had the most amazing afternoon tea. The only downfall was we couldn't eat all the fresh sandwiches and delicious cakes! Luckily we were able to bring them home with us. I also had one of the best cappuccinos I have ever had! We were served by a lovely young waiter called Emilio who, couldn't do enough to make sure we enjoyed ourselves! My friend booked this for 4 of us for my birthday afternoon tea, the sandwiches were tasty and the cakes even better. As we were eating the sandwiches they went off saying they will make us more. The scones were warm which is always that excited moment That everyone always comments on. The cakes were very tasty and all had that homemade feel.., I think they were? My son had a nut allergy so he got his own plate. The tea pot was endless unlike some venues where you only have a certain amount of tea or time, we felt very welcome to sit and chat all day and certainly were not rushed. The toilet... don’t think I’ve ever reviewed a toilet, but not only was it clean it offered a range of toiletries and sanitary items like nappies, toothbrushes and feminine products to name a few. How thoughtful!!

Spent a very welcoming afternoon here watching the FA Cup final. The owner, Linda, and her family were so friendly. The cafe had been decked out to support Watford FC and there were even cakes decorated to match. However, I was tempted by the chocolate caramel brownie which did not disappoint. I would certainly recommend The Kitchen the food was delicious with a good selection of home made cakes & appetising sandwiches, the service was excellent, & the staff were so friendly. In fact my daughter suggested it would be good to come back for a birthday treat instead of a meal at some point. I believe they also serve meals, or if you just want a drink & a slice of cake, there is also a reasonable lunch deal. I would certainly recommend The Kitchen & will spread word around.

Went to check out The Kitchen before buying a giftvoucher for high tea for a friend. Had a coffee and cake and we were not disappointed. Linda clearly takes pride in the service that she and her staff offer. Her made to order cakes look fantastic. Lovely coffee and the flapjack chocolate caramel slice I had was superb. Thank you to Linda and her team for a wonderful afternoon tea in celebration of our friend's mini hen! Linda was beyond helpful, catering for dietary requirements, putting out decorations we had purchased and fitting our booking in at the last minute over the Mother's Day weekend. The cake was fantastic and the value for money was great. There was a great atmosphere throughout our visit and the staff were incredibly helpful. All of us had a great time! :)

Had a scrumptious afternoon tea with my daughter this afternoon. The sandwiches were plenty and the scones and homemade cakes were to die for. The service was above and beyond tea pot filled continuously nothing was too much trouble. The young lad who was our waiter was very polite . Box given for what we couldnt manage to take home. Visited the Kitchen today with my friend for her birthday . The afternoon tea was delightful and the choice of cakes and sandwiches was fab . Everything is home made and we washed it down with a glass of Prosecco and earl grey tea. Daisy our waitress was impeccable always checking that everything was ok . A lovely find .. very British little tea.

I highly recommend this little hidden gem !!! Fresh ham and mustard sandwich, with an everlasting pot of tea. A packet of Chilli crisps, and a wonderful fresh slice of cake...then a mystery box of cakes to take home... Delicious, what more could one ask for to cheer me up mid-week!

We visited for afternoon tea, I can't remember the occasion but if I was to make a negative comment it would be there was too much lovely food! We couldn't put it all away if we tried, luckily the kind lady who served us realised our plight and offered us a box to take away what we couldn't eat, lovely people, lovely cake, and who doesn't like cake right?

Lovely venue for a casual meet up, business meeting, or just lunch or a cake and coffee! The service is next to none, a real family run vibe! I particularly like the cream tea (yummy)!

We went here on Saturday afternoon for our friend's 35th birthday. There were 5 of us and we were made to feel completely at ease and not rushed at all. The cafe was lovely and quaint and beautifully decorated. The attention to detail is amazing - a card welcoming you and wishing you a good afternoon tea, the toilet had an array of products you may need and we were provided with a large pot of tea while waiting for the rest of our group. Nothing was too much bother and service was lovely. It is really nice to see teenage boys serving in cafes and they were very helpful and polite.

Came in on my own to have a coffee and some cake ( looking for gluten free ) to much delight they do have gluten free cakes amongst many other fabulous cakes !

Enjoyed a long-awaited afternoon tea (lunchtime) at The Kitchen this week, with a friend, and it lived up to every expectation, from the warm and friendly greeting to the perfection of the tea. Nothing was too much trouble. Finger sandwiches were fresh and delicious (3 varieties), the range of cakes excellent (lemon drizzle, chocolate, Oreo caramel shortbread and red velvet - 1 piece for each of us + 2 each big, warm scones with cream and jam!). We were stuffed!!! We both took doggy bags home! As we were there to enjoy a leisurely meeting (to discuss a craft group we run), we were there for quite a while but were never rushed to leave. Our teapots were regularly refilled and milk replenished. Super! Thank you to all the staff, front and back of house. I'm sure we'll be back...now, I reckon we'll need another 'meeting' soon...

I came in with my partner this weekend for a quick bite to eat at lunchtime. The service was fabulous. I have an allergy to mustard and the staff went above and beyond to ensure my food was completely free from mustard. It is not often that it is taken so seriously as regularly I have to explain mustard comes in forms other than the yellow stuff in a jar!

Friendly and welcoming proprietor. Happy to sort out some scones for a cream tea despite near the end of the day. Fresh jam and a lovely presentation; scones delicious. My partner had a sandwich special. Excellent choice and menu. Attention to detail and attentive service; crusts on or off for instance. Cup cakes high quality and delicious, difficult to decide what to have from yummy homemade selection. Pots of tea refreshed and not rushed out the door. Friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Toilets very clean and well stocked (including nappies, toothbrushes and toothpaste etc). Little touches that make this an excellent business. Will be returning soon for an afternoon tea!

My daughter had a kids' baking birthday party on Sunday afternoon. It was very well-organised and a wonderful afternoon overall for the families. While children baked and decorated their cupcakes, the accompanying adults had a good dose of chatter over afternoon tea! What I like about The Kitchen is that it is cosy like 'mum's kitchen'. The cakes and teas and sandwiches feel very homemade. Given advanced notice, Linda and her team will do their best to accommodate your request; I've been there a few times now and enjoyed specially made vegan cakes.

We visited the Kitchen Croxley for my mother’s birthday with members of her immediate family. The cafe has a lovely selection of home made scones and cakes but can also cater for afternoon tea. We were greeted by the very friendly and accommodating owner who made us very welcome.

What a fantastic place. Finally went here today after driving past everyday and so glad I did. Tasty cakes and even better coffee - best coffee in the area! Linda and Ian are absolutely lovely, really welcoming and friendly and have done a great job with the cafe. I will definitely be going back for more delicious treats and coffees!

Linda is great at making cakes and we ordered two cakes for house warming party back in October and they cost us 70 odd pounds and at the time of order, I felt it was a bit expensive. However to my surprise when the cake was ready for collection (We chose collection and they probably are able to deliver cakes if you wish to) We were very impressed with the packaging and the look and feel of the work that had gone into making these two cakes. What pleased me most was the taste and flavor of the cakes. I can honestly say Linda's cakes are probably the best I have ever tasted. They are also made with genuine ingredients and are as healthy as they can be for a cake.

If you want to lovely slice of cake - this is your place. Linda puts her heart and soul into her baking with a very friendly smile. I had the pleasure of afternoon tea here with a friend the other week and I was really taken aback by the amount of cake and bottomless supplies of tea offered. It was amazing value for money - I came away with a big doggie bag. Linda has also booked a few birthday cakes for me too and again of very high quality and not overly sugary.

This is a family owned and run business. I almost felt like family as the service was very genuine, pleasant and warm which isn't something I think I've ever been able to write in a review before. My cappuccino was lovely, frothy milk and just the right strength and the salted brownie was awesome. Highly recommended.

Fifteen of us were booked as a special celebration for one of our number moving to Australia. Booking and dietary needs all done in a friendly, helpful manner and a lovely welcome as we (slowly) gathered. (Parking not the easiest.) Food delicious, service attentive and whole event easy and relaxed. Great value, gluten free items easily available, strongly recommend.

Having heard family rave about The Kitchin after visiting, we made another visit as I was back visiting for a weekend. Have to say, I wasn't let down with the amazing welcome, service, food and staff friendliness which we all received. Accommodated for my wheelchair using family member and my dietary needs.
