Cafe @ Lock 81 in Three Rivers

A brilliant place to go for fantastic coffee and superb sausage sandwiches. Lovely canal/riverside location. Super friendly place.

Rude and condescending staff - when asking if I could order an iced coffee I was scoffed at by one of the women behind the counter. I was scoffed at again and a rude comment was made at my expense for asking for a different kind of coffee (a flat white). To be made to feel like an idiot for simply asking a question is pathetic service - a simple "no we don't have that" would have sufficed.

Been here a few times and always been welcomed with a smile. Staff are friendly and food is tasty. Always busy which is always a good sign.

Just stopped off on a big hike. Was really surprised by the delicious homemade spiced marmalade 🎂 cake and excellent coffee. They do much more but I felt moved to leave a review it was that good.

A wonderful place to stop and have a bit to eat while out for a walk. We had sausage, bacon and egg sandwiches with hot cups of tea. Just what we needed after a rainy trip to the Aquadrome. The ladies serving were extremely pleasant and friendly. Would highly recommend. Wish I’d known about it sooner!

An incredibly lovely spot to have a nice coffee, some breakfast or lunch. With a great environment around you (the murmur of water, the songs of birds... Charming with no end!!!). And some lovely people giving amazing customer service! Come and see for yourself!!!

Delicious homemade cakes, friendly service

Old fashioned food and service ( in the very best way). Burgers, hot dogs, sausage and bacon sandwiches, as well as tea, coffee and cake. But dont expect smashed avacado (or even brown bread)

Whilst the location is nice, the staff could work on their customer service skills. My wife wanted to throw away her old cup of coffee to buy a new one and was asked to pick it up from the 🗑

This lovely coffee is at a very nice place at the canal. The personnel is very friendly and the coffee was perfect. Prices are fair. I will come again!

Pleased to sit down and get a nice cold drink after our long walk around the canals. I can't comment on food as didn't eat here.

Lovely people, nice Latte and bacon sarnie. Table was wobbly and caused me to knock my latte all over me. The lovely lady replaced it for me.

One of the best coffee shop in Rickmansworth. Very peaceful ambience and blended with nature. Get a Latte and sit near the canal and spend an evening here.

I promised the Mrs a pub lunch, after a walk we found this place by the batchworth lock. Hot dog and chips twice, 2 teas and we're both happy. The staff are great. We will be back.

Really lovely simple little cafe by the lock. Good range of sandwiches and cakes. Good coffee. Sensible prices. Don't be surprised if others have got there before you and there's a queue! The food is worth waiting for. The apple cake and Chocolate orange drizzle cake is highly recommended.

The most wonderful cafe run who put the heart and soul into everything they do! A beautiful location and the atmosphere made even better by the lovely women who run it!

The lady serving did not appear to wash her hands between handling cash and touching the food, she did not wear disposable gloves. The cafe is cash only therefore she handles lots of coins and notes which are known to carry germs then handles, cakes, bacon with bare hands and no washing in between.

A lovely little treasure, on the canal walk from the Aquadome. Home made cakes and very good sandwiches. Always a pleasure to go there. Very popular with the locals which is always a good sign. I guarantee you will not been disappointed with whatever you order. Very popular in the sunny months.

Good coffee and tea. Menu offers fried egg sandwiches and other hearty fare after walking along the canal or through Rickmansworth aquadrome. Seating area between two locks and swans and geese wandrring nesrby. Lovely summer or winter

Stopped at this little Cafe as l was cycling along the canal. They have a small seating area which would probably seat around 25 people. They have quit a good menu for a small Cafe, the food is prepared in a small wooden hut and once you have ordered your food you are given a ticket and sit in the seating area till your number is called. I had a victorian sausage sandwich and a tea for about £4.50, the sausages are produced locally and it was very nice. It is a nice little Cafe as a stop off if you are walking or cycling along the canal towards Rickmansworth Aquadrome. I think it will close when autumn is over and it usually opens again in the spring.

A lovely little outdoor cafe with canal side seating, very friendly staff, great sandwiches and home made cakes. It is perfectly situated to take a break on a walk along the canal or around the nearby aquadrome. Family. friendly canal boat trips run from the lock as well and the Rickmansworth canal centre shop alongside sells bird seed for the local ducks, geese and swans as well as maps and gifts.

Lovely Lady runs the Cafe Excellent Customer service.

Loved it perfect bike ride stop off point for a locally sourced sausage sandwich, and a proper tea.

Sadly the café is closed, they worked hard to keep it open and to serve their customers to their high standard which worked well, we look forward to the café reopening very soon.

We visited Rickmansworth Aquadrome and Eubury Play Area today. Rickmansworth Aquadrome has it's own cafe. We were going to use it after r adventure, but on our adventure we found Cafe @ Lock 81. We had a cup of tea for £1 and watched the boats go by. It was lovely.

This little cafe is next to the Grand Union canal lock in Rickmansworth. It is quite small and all seating is outside. But the view is wonderful. It is next to the lock on one side, so you can watch the canal boats passing through. On the other side is an unused branch of the canal, usually well populated with water birds A very quiet and peaceful place for a drink, or maybe something to eat. The staff are very welcoming.

A really nicely positioned if simple cafe on the canal side. There are no toilets here but you can use one on the other side of the canal (very short distance). the prices are really excellent and you can get anything from hot and cold food to teas and coffees. Seating outside. You can stroll along the canal side from here. Very close to the town centre, parking limited close to St. Marys church. Not open on Monday or Tuesday but every other day of the week. Lovely place to take a break.

Arrived just before they shut, but was still happy to serve me with an Americano and a slice of home-made moist Rich Ginger cake. Will have to visit again to try the hot food, and spend longer admiring the views around the locks of this canal junction.

Very friendly. Food made to order. Cappochino takes two minutes and seven seconds to make. I heard that they also do chips.

Lovely cafe by the canal. Hot and cold snacks and drinks. Burgers are great, as are the sandwiches - they'll keep you going for hours. Very reasonable prices. Close to the Canal Centre. Great place to stop for food and to watch the boats go by.

After a long walk with Missy the Victorian Bulldog around the Aquadrome, we do like to visit the Cafe @ lock 81. The fried Egg sandwiches are extremely tasty.. 😁😎

No frills but good honest service in a nice location.

Really nice, family run cabin serving simple but well cooked dishes, like burgers, sandwiches and baked potatoes. My kids love the chips and I love the homemade cakes. A much better alternative than that overpriced pretentious twaddle that is the café in the Aquadrome ie. The café in the park.

The best café on the Grand Union in West London

Excellent straightforward food that is tasty and very good value. The Staff could not be more helpful.

You get a ticket with a number on it; they shout out the number when your order is ready. We had a bowl of chips and two cans of Coca-Cola.

A massive sausage sandwich and mug of tea for under a fiver! Super place on the Grand Union towpath. There's even a bowl for the dog - definitely heading back with family or friends.

Lovely brew and Sausage sandwich. Service can be a little slow at peak times but food is cooked freshly to order.

Great location and handy during walks along the canal. Hot and cold food available as well as usual drink selection and homemade cakes. Hot bovril in the winter is a good option.

Lovely little cafe at the lock in Rickmansworth. Great for a stop when cycling or walking. Coffee is good and a selection of cakes or cooked food. Try the moon cakes! Not too sweet and much nicer than an energy bar.

New owner Claire has done a great job making this lovely little cafe part of the local community - great moon cakes & sausage sandwiches!
