Lisa was really helpful and friendly and nothing was too much whilst trying to organise my dads 70th birthday party!! The venue is brilliant for parties and my dad had the best time, so thank you to Lisa and the team x

First time going to this venue for my father’s wake and it was perfect in every way. Lisa is an incredible host and was regularly in touch with me up until the monday afternoon we went. We initially emailed an enquiry and she instantly makes you feel like you’ve known her a long time! She really went over and beyond to make sure that it was a special occasion. The place is a very ideal location for any type of party and Lisa was extremely fair on prices too. I was worried at first that there may not be enough food as you never know how many people might go to a wake, but Lisa and the team were coming out with more and more all the time and it was all lovely and well presented. Lisa and team could not have been more accommodating. I look forward to going back to this bar with mates for a beer or 2! Thank you Lisa x

Awful place plastic patio chairs and not many! Freezing cold and staff namely Dom who spreads malicious and untrue gossip about customers . Police there every evening- if you want a den go, if a sophisticated wine/cocktail bar avoid at all costs

Came here for an engagement party and I cannot describe the joy that filled my soul when the plates of chicken nuggets came out at the perfect moment

Had my husband’s 50th birthday party here. Lisa was so responsive, friendly and helpful from my first enquiry until the end of the evening. The grazing board looked and tasted wonderful and the drinks were delicious and reasonably priced. Lisa went above and beyond to help make the place look inviting too. Thank you so much! We’ll be back to visit soon!

A beautiful venue with a great atmosphere, where Lisa and her team give a warm welcome. A varied menu of drinks including a wide variety of cocktails and food. My friends and I love to come here for a great night out.

Beautiful cocktails and grazing boards, vegan and meat 👌 such a lovely old character building with a really personal attentive team. We opted for the new Barbie brunch, good fun would recommend, great value for really good cocktails instead of rubbish ones ❤

Not only a beautiful building full of charm but Lisa and team provide a lovely personal service. Tried out the Barbie brunch with beautiful cocktails and grazing boards. All delish, great value especially for decent cocktails rather than the other versions that are quite radioactive 👀 Highly recommend ❤

I hosted my Fiancés 30th Birthday Celebration at Hudson Place. The staff were incredible in helping me get the venue set up. I can’t thank Lisa, Will and their team for all their hard work on the lead up and on the event itself. All guests had a fantastic time and what a party to remember. hired out a function room here for my girlfriends surprise 30th. Staff were so friendly. Efficient and professional. Cocktails were delicious. Was a good price and 110% recommend

I had my 60th birthday party at Hudson Place last Saturday. Lisa and her staff were amazing from the organisation to the day of the party. The wine bar is perfect for a party where you can dance or sit in a quieter part of the bar. There is also a courtyard to sit outside if you need. The drinks were served without any waiting. We had Prosecco And beer on arrival and their staff were so attentive making sure your glass was topped up. Cocktails are amazing too. We had 70s disco music which everyone enjoyed.

The cocktails here are awesome and the staff are friendly and helpful - would recommend for day or evening drinks/food.

Had a delightful cream tea here with ladies. Tea free flowing and delicious cakes and sandwiches scones and cream eaton mess..as much as we wanted. The owner really made us welcomed. Loved it

Went there for a evening with a bunch of ladies. We were welcomed with a glass of wine/prosecco. Ladies were lovely and helpful. Nibbles later which were fresh and hot. Would recommend. Only reason for not full stars is that the place is small so a little difficult to social distance in view of COVID rules. Thank You for a lovely Evening Ladies. Nx😊👍

We love rocking up here after a walk from Watford along the canal and enjoying a coffee. Great place. Great cocktails and coffee.

Delicious afternoon tea really good variety. A lovely treat in the quiet little window seat. Maybe a tea pot could enhance this experience. A tucked away treat!!

Lockdown Birthday Treat We had cocktails and food Saturday night. The Cocktails were great tasted amazing and the Food was so tasty and the presentation was fab. Lisa was lovely to chat to and we look forward to being able to go in person after lockdown. Highly recommend :)

As a rickmansworth resident this fabulous place opening has been a breath of fresh air. A great place to meet friends after work for a quick drink or a leisurely afternoon at the weekend. Fabulous coffee, amazing cocktails and great mezze, they even have a dinky beer dispenser so i can have a beer when i want one. The staff are friendly and very experienced at the cocktails. The owner is welcoming and brings the place to life. Unmissable if you are in ricky and you want a most enjoyable time.

We wanted a cocktail party for 6 friends recently, couldn't think how to do it safely anywhere - Lisa offered to open just for us on a Monday evening. How special!! Jason looked after us all evening, huge range of gorgeous cocktails, felt very spoiled. Clever billing system keeps an eye on each guest's tab so less thirsty friends don't get stitched up! Highly recommended x

Had a lovely afternoon tea with delicious sandwiches and cakes selection. Coffee was perfect. Service is excellent and you can really just relax and enjoy the whole experience at your own pace. There was so much food, we even bought cakes back with us to enjoy later. Will definitely recommend it and will certainly be back soon.

Hands down their coffee and drinks are the best in Rickmansworth, and although not the biggest or fanciest place, I’d much rather give my money to a little business like this than a big money making chain! What a little gem!! Great Addition to the town and just what rickmansworth needs. Lisa and Jason are so welcoming. Me and my friend popped in for cocktails however ended up staying for tapas as well . I would def return. Don’t come to this bar thinking your going to get a slap up meal because it’s a cocktail and tapas bar. The decor is lovely and the chairs and tables are all wipeable which is what people Want during these covid times . Well done team We will Be back and thank You again for a lovely evening . We felt safe and well looked after 5 stars !!

Popped in to Hudson Place today for some milkshakes and a smoothie, and they were delicious. The staff are welcoming and so friendly, I highly recommend a visit.

Amazing little gem of a shop, my family love all the treats from there and the staff are amazing, you have to pop in and try their smoothies, or if feeling a little naughty go for the Oreo milkshake, all very reasonably priced too!!!

Lisa was really friendly and welcoming, they’ve taken lots of covid precautions which is reassuring. Love the range of milkshakes on offer and they’re a decent size and really tasty flavour for only £3.75

Expensive, none of the charm or friendly/attentive staff of the old cinnamon square cafe, reheated cinnamon squares & stale scones. Savoury food ok but will not be coming out of my way to revisit ever again.

Excellent atmosphere, lovely people, welcoming and cheery. I don't know what Natalie H is on about, maybe she is more a Gregs type. Go enjoy that instead.

Popped in with friends for pre dinner drinks, Nice fresh surroundings and atmosphere of the place is good. Chatted with owner who said she is hoping to open up the courtyard area ready for spring and summer al fresco drinking. Will definitely go again.

Very underwhelmed with this place. Visited today for a smoked salmon bagel (the salmon was low quality for £5.50 but the bagel was nice) & a type of toastie which was meant to have Dijon mustard, but it wasn’t and it was very over powering. There was one member of staff rushing around trying to serve everyone. The decor seemed slightly cheap for such a nice building with silver paint ruining exposed beams and plastic chairs which were very uncomfortable. The member of staff seemed to do as much as should could and was lovely, but I think she needed some help! The bakery next door was lovely and recommend the cinnamon buns to take away!

I went in here today for a coffee, as I initially went to cinnamon square but they had told me they no longer have a cafe and that I should go to the new one next door. So of course, I did and was surprised by a lack of greeting and having been ignored by the woman and man stood at the bar chatting, I went upstairs. The place was almost empty so I picked one of the very uncomfortable plastic chairs available. All the old wood panels on the ceiling that would have made the building beautiful, was painted in silver and covered head to toe in fairly lights. The tables were decorated with cheap plastic LED candles and the whole vibe was just cheap and nowhere near comfortable. I felt like leaving immediately, especially having felt unwelcome by the staff with no chat and long waits for drinks. Once I had gotten my drink, it was accompanied by a dirty spoon. I then turned around to ask for a new one, before realising I was sat next to the toilets that were covered by a small saloon door, with the toilets completely in view. Two women left the toilet and told the waitress that there was no toilet roll available, saying that it seemed weird on a Saturday lunch time in an empty cafe...the waitress hesitated and said “I don’t know” and the women replied “it’s ok I just used my trousers” before laughing to herself and leaving. What a nightmare. Not to mention I spent £11 on two drinks and a cake!!! Summary: very bad service, rude staff, expensive drinks, cheap decor and long wait times in an empty cafe.

Visited with friends on a saturday afternoon, the team didn't acknowledge us or direct us to seats. they also didn't bring cutlery etc with food, or sugar for drinks. The presentation of the toasted sandwich was basic - nothing else on plate, nor did it look as if it had been carefully cut etc, it would have been easy to liven up the plate I'm sure I hope it improves as its great to be able too support an independent venture My review echos the previous one I'm sorry to say 'underwhelming'

Popped in today for brunch, really glad we did. Really nice decor, friendly service and fab breakfast menu. We’ll definitely be back, and recommend others to give it a try!

So, full disclosure - I was a massive fan of Cinnamon Square, so I had great hopes for Hudson Place given it's connection to the aforementioned brunch haven. I've been a couple of times, to give it a chance, but each time now I've left feeling either deflated or disappointed. Whether it's the decor.... white walls, uncomfortable plastic chairs or the rickety uneven tables - and why?? would you paint those beautiful beams!!, or is it the mediocre food?.... I can't be sure. You really do get the impression that a cafe was an afterthought... the wine bar seems to be what's being pushed here. When I say the food is mediocre, I mean that it's pretty basic, but edible. The Eggs Benedict is egg, on packaged ham, on toast with a nice hollandaise sauce. The Croque Monsieur is basically a cheese toastie with too much mustard and not even a hint of garnish ( before you say that's what a Croque Monsieur is... You're not wrong, but it has more style and depth of flavour than a basic toasted cheese sandwich). The salads too are just ok.... but not worth the prices. So, in summary - if you happen to be in Rickmansworth and everywhere else is busy.... and you don't mind overpaying for watered down versions of your favourites, then pop in.
