Walked down for lunch with my mum and my second visit here. Dogs are welcome - so much so the ladies made such a fuss of mine (including several biscuits) they will DEFINITELY want to go back! I was being good after an over indulgent Christmas so chose pea and mint soup and a small omelette. My mum had the omelette too. Along with a tea and coffee the cost was £15. The ladies there couldn’t do enough to help and were very friendly. I need to return when I’m going to be more adventurous as the speciality seems to be a curry plate which sounded yummy! It’s only open Monday to Friday but until 7pm each day

I come to the Kitchen Coffee House fairly regularly, always when I am starving hungry for a late lunch when I’ve finished my dog-walking job. Always greeted as an old friend, the women who run this place are fabulous. The lovely waitress often sits down with us while she takes our order. Can’t think why I haven’t reviewed it before. Today I had the home-made cheese pie , with freshly-cooked hot homemade chips and peas. We had a slice of bread of butter, too, so we could make a chip butty. Nice pot of tea, what more could anyone want. Lovely that it’s dog-friendly so there’s often a pooch or two to pat. The curries are great, as are the cakes, and it’s very veggie friendly, too. Excellent value, too. Keep up the good work!

We have been to this cafe quite a few times now . On the first few occasions the quality of the sausages has been poor, when this was reported to the staff the response was very aggressive and made us feel like we were in the wrong. I feel that the staff there need to learn how to take criticism. As the criticism we had was constructive. This was not seen in there eyes and “everybody loves our food” . This is typical for a small cafe / restaurant who’s usual customers are just passing by on a walk on a canal side. I’m sure everybody that is visiting the area for 1 day will not review / complain as they don’t want to ruin their day with an arugument. It is clear this is a new venture to them and struggling with grasping the concept of keeping customers happy.

Needed a local place for lunch and Rhonda suggested The Kitchen. Booked a table via their Facebook page for 1230. Parking is restricted but there are other places nearby you can leave the car like the community centre. Nice decor and staff friendly. Good menu and specials board. We had the Ham, egg and chips, breakfast brunch and the pulled pork Burger. There were various options like scampi, mackerel, curry amongst other things available. They also served breakfast and takeaway food. Food arrived in good time and was delicious. We all enjoyed the meal. Cake available for afters and banana milkshake was great. Well worth a visit and we will be going again. Must try a take away curry. Hope people give this venue a try.

Where do I start, this is our all time favourite place to eat. I often go with my family or after I've finished training with my box4fitness friends. The food on offer is wholesome, healthy and fresh. My favourite choice is always an omelette made with farm fresh eggs with so many choices of fillings. The curry's and cakes are all home made, the menu choice is endless for a breakie, lunch or tea. The place is pristine, not to mention the first class customer service from Helen , Jaz , Fiona and all the crew. Very child ( my wee 1 gets spoilt)and dog friendly and i can buy my fresh farm eggs from there too. After all the gloom we have suffered recently in Mytholmroyd mainly due to flooding it is fantastic to have something to enthuse about. It's hard to know where to begin with compliments. All previous positive reviews have been correct. Friendly service from lovely people and a welcome for dogs are near the top of the list. Food is of the highest quality whether it be cooked breakfast, takeaway curry, sandwiches and coffee. I have recently had a cake made to treat my colleagues at work and a surprise romantic meal delivered to my home to celebrate an anniversary with my wife. All done with extras I hadn't requested and willingness to go the extra mile for us. This may be a gushing review but it is well deserved. I am totally baffled by a recent review 'Dog friendly'. As a frequent visitor l have always found that the Kitchen Coffee House maintains the highest standards in all aspects of the service provided. Part of the attraction is that dogs 'accompanied by well behaved owners' are welcome. I accept that it's not very nice to have a dog have an 'accident' when you are eating nearby but equally toddlers, the elderly, men, women and most living creatures can suffer a 'mishap'. It's not nice, but if dealt with swiftly and efficiently, shouldn't be a problem. I was not present when this incident occured but from the description provided, fail to see what more the Kitchen Coffee house could have done. Maybe the previous reviewer could offer some advice ? I will not be influenced in any way by the review but will trust my own eyes, nose and taste buds which all inform me reliably that the Kitchen Coffee House attach great importance to providing a warm welcome to all, quality food and the highest hygene standards.

I didnt realise that dog friendly means that the staff at the Kitchen think it ok for a dog to use the floor of the cafe as a toilet! This is what happened when I was having breakfast and when another customer expressed his disgust he was told that a dog cant hold its bladder and so long as they clean it up with disinfectant its fine. What a shame that a cafe I have enjoyed visiting on many occasions is most certainly off my list!

This place is a little tricky to find as the sign isn't that prominent. It's just off Pissmore Hill, best approached on your way out of the village towards Halifax. I don't usually review cafes as I so often use them just to grab a sandwich and a drink for my lunch as my work takes me around the UK. But The Kitchen is very different. It only opened in February 2016, not long after the dreadful floods that affected the area. Just off the road and right by the towpath of the Rochdale Canal we came across it during a very wet bicycle ride. It is well located on the towpath in an area where there is nothing right by the canal in terms of refreshments.

A lovely traditional pub steeped in local history that for the last few years has suffered from a revolving door of short lived landlords without a clue. What a refreshing change then to see that the Hinch' has finally got new landlords (Oct2024) who clearly know how to run a pub. Within a short period of time they have successfully managed to breathe new life into what had become a tired and soulless place to eat and drink. On the two occasions we've been since the Hinch reopened we've been super impressed with the food. In fact the cheese and onion pie might well be the best pie l've tasted in the Calder Valley (or ever!) and the flavourful and plentiful Sunday Roast offering was a cut above your usual pub ‘roast’ offering. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the food if you’re looking for somewhere to eat - especially when it comes without the hassle of parking in Hebden Bridge. On each occasion we’ve been, the Hinch was busy with drinkers and diners which is great to see. The trade off is you've only got the choice of Manchester owners JW Lees’ own branded mystery beer offerings. Forget the craft-ale revolution, or the fact that Vocation brewery is literally 5 mins away, the solitary guest beer offering here is San Miguel. I guess you can't have everything, but at least the food and atmosphere more than makes up for it!
