Lunchtime visit for limp chips, soggy fish, watery peas They forgot the fishcake we ordered . Place could do with a deep clean as well. Will not be using again.

Went to get fish chips and peas for an old lady for her tea.Was absolutely disgusting paid £10 couldn't eat any if it .the chips looked liked been cooked for hours all hard and rotten.the fish wasn't fresh .hardly any batter on it .the peas was a spoonful disgusting.

Called here on impulse, running late and thought we would have a chippie tea, as I was driving past. Produce is OK but the fat has that dirty taste, like it needs cleaning or changing, put us both off

The worst tasting chippy I have ever had. Everything was undercooked ive never seen such a pale chip I thought the gravy would help but it was lumpy. I rang to let them know and they told me to take it up with the delivery driver I asked did he cook it and she said no! Can't cook and rude!

probably the worst chippy tea i can remember having. fish was ok, but i dont know what they do to the chips and the sausage for them to taste so bad.

I was in the area and needed something to eat, I’ve not been before. Waited in the car for ages while the cooked them “fresh” they were good tasting chips. I would definitely go again if I was in the area.

If I could leave no stars I would. Never have we had a chippy so abysmal. The service was awful, staff not knowing if they did Chinese curry or not. The food, chips & sausage. The carton was half full of what can only be described as “bits” of chips. The chips were stone cold & anaemic & the sausage was burnt & dry on the outside. When we cut into it, it was that overcooked it’s was a very dark brown inside. The sausage was that dry we left it after one bite. I recommend nothing about this chippy & the best thing it can do is close so a decent chippy can take its place. Beyond poor in ever aspect.

Poor. Ordered food at 19:44 and was told 55 minutes. I rang an hour and 10 minutes later and was told it was 20 mins away. The food then arrived at 22:10. 2 1/4 hours for the food to arrive. On arrival the food was luke warm and not the best. Certainly not worth the wait. No communication from them at all, no apology. Should do better.

Rang to order food for my nan who’s 83 said it would be with us ASAP!! Rang back an hour later no sign of the food, then to be told it would be 25 minutes still waiting so rang and said don’t bother to which they said it was on its way and then whoever it was put the phone down on me. Stick your food even if they knock on the door it’s not accepted getting paid for!!

The pie and chips were fine but the footlong hot dog was horrible. 2 little sauages that dont even cover the bun and they smell awful and taste so vile.. All dried up and very dark. Wont order again

Very complex payment system in shop, nearly losing the will to live ! Asked for lightly battered fish, was heavy stodgy and thick-tasted of dirty fat ! Ordered large chips to share, sure it wasn’t a large portion. Anaemic looking old chips. Really was looking forward to a treat bit it was a waste of money as well as calories! Never written a bad review but I felt this warranted it sorry !

Ordered a takeaway tonight and waited over 2 hours for it to be delivered despite the website stating a delivery time of 55 mins. If the website was more accurate we would have chosen to order from elsewhere , also no updates once the order was placed , we had to call twice to get a updated delivery time and when the food arrived is was barely lukewarm. A shame because we have called in here before and the food has been good but very disappointing tonight , especially as we don’t order a takeaway very often so when we do it’s a special treat and now we’re wishing we hadn’t bothered!

Our local fish and chip shop was closed ( post 8pm) so my girlfriend did a quick google and found the to the Kingsway fish. She ordered 2 portions of fish and chips and a mushy peas. I can safely say with no exaggeration, it was the worst fish and chips I have ever tasted. The taste was that the oil was off and the batter had a sickly sweetness. We had one bite of the food and immediately threw it away. For the sum of £14.41 it was unacceptable

Just ordered two fish and a chips and it was inedible. The fish smelled really bad and the oil was clearly very old. Also, the chips were tiny like they were the bottom of the bag. We have thrown them in the bin. No tea for us tonight!

Chips very dry and was charged £1.50 for a bottle of fizz that was clearly price marked £1 as if there’s not enough profit in it ! Not happy

Let me just say...in all my years of having many takeaways etc...i ordered a kebab with chips and salad tonight from this establishment..not only was it ready on time, it tasted delicious, and plentiful. I thoroughly enjoyed it, my wife had something similar and it was also superb.please dont change anything..i will most certainly be back. Regards Ross

During this terrible time it was one of the only places that continued through..... I don't have time to cook and am a sort of key person, as they say? alone so without them. hungry.... food was good and well prepared. I have no complaints. Well done Kingsway I rate you......

Ordered my meal, was given a delivery time, food arrived 15 mins earlier, all great, food was delicious, hot and fresh, only problem was the delivery driver handed me my food and not from a distance, he wore no gloves!!! Pleasant guy but he really needs to protect himself as well as customers

This food has made us all feel really ill.First of all it was an hour late. Which we would understand in this busy time but why keep taking too many orders? Food was cold. Chips undercooked - a lot went in the bin. Part of our order was totally missing and they wouldn’t answer phone to rectify this.The fish was so oily and sloppy, two of us ate a little and gave up but now feel really ill. Would NOT recommend!

Ordered via deliveroo and appreciate at a very busy time. Original estimated delivery time was over an hour after ordering. They then added another hour to it, without notifying us. No answer when tried to contact them. Got deliveroo to contact them, they took 5 minutes off the estimated time, which was a bit of an insult as they’d told deliveroo they’d amend it, implying it wouldn’t take as long as they’d put. Food arrived late, so total of 2 hours 10 minutes after it was ordered. It was all like warm and had to be microwaved. Chicken kebab had no salad or sauce. Just chicken in a box with a pitta bread on top. Wonderful, NOT. The chicken was nice, apparently and luckily we had some salad in!! Never again.

Thanks for the scrambled £9:20 pizza Lukewarm too, yum Kingsway Warrington... was this dropped? Expected a round hot pizza lol. Disappointed

Heard a lot of good stuff about Kingsway Chippy so drove from the other side of town to sample it. Both Fish & Chips were swimming in oil. On a positive it was proper Cod, I lot of chippies cheat these days and use pollock.

drove for 30 mins to go here and when i got there its shut , i looked on their website before setting off so make sure they would be open but no shutters were down and showed no sign of opening!! Called here on way home from shopping. Fish batter isn't crispy at all and quite soggy chips! Gravy not too bad, as we're the peas. Worst thing though is a suggestion to the lady serving- scoffing a chicken wing at the counter, picking some out of your teeth with long claw nails, then NOT WASHING YOUR HANDS is disgusting!! Half eaten chicken pulled from your teeth that gets stuck in those talons you have is not what I want to possibly get dropped in my food. Sickening!

I go here fairly regularly as it is the only chippy in the Padgate area that stays open later in the evening, Good range of choices and pizzas are also available.

Ordered at 5pm food still not showed up by 8pm after 3 calls to them. They said they would cancel and send for free nothing hour later. Called back woman had gone home and other woman didnt have a clue bout the previous conversation. They hadnt resent and hadnt cancelled if i hadnt of called they would of took the money and not sent the food. Know its Christmas eve but dont take orders you cant fufil!

Eaten here quite a few times but not anymore? Ordered and waited just over an hour for food, rang to find out why over estimated time to be told only 2 drivers doing best they can and very abusive staff member in thr fine, disgusting attitude the way she spoke, food was cold wen we got it, but didnt ring back up ti get abuse again, will defo not eat here again and will be telling all my family and friends to avoid as well.. disgusting is an understatment

Awful !!! Our bin ate well tonight ....Fish was black underneath the soggy batter Curry tasted like powder and the chips 🤮🤮 ordered Cherryade was sent Aldi brand Orangeade which no one likes hence us ordering Cherryade. Never again

Very greasy, chips are reheated. Kebab meat was tasteless and gave tummy ache. Delivery service was very fast though and food was hot when arrived

I ordered fish and chips through Just Eat. The food arrived on time, it was hot, good size portions and of a good standard. I'll use them again.

Large portions, great chips, good fish. They also sell pizza, kebabs and a range of other fast food.

Since the demise of Papa's down the road, The Kingsway Fish Bar has been the place to go, not anymore!!

Waited over an hour and a half for food which arrived after a second phone call with cold kebabs and part order missing. Called up again and waited so far 45 minutes but no sign of the rest of our order! Won't be using again !

When Kingsway first opened it was an excellent chippy. It's still better then a lot on the town just not as good as it was

Sadly was very disappointed! We ordered two large chips, two sausages and two pie puddings. Come to us luke warm. Enough food to fill up two children, let alone two adults. We ordered the extra pies as it was a delivery, glad we did or it wouldn't of touched the surface. They put the chips in a box, which was a child's portion. I dread to think what a small portion would be! Won't be returning.

Awful. Last 2 times we have been ill afterwards. No customers but at least 11 people in there, all chatting to each other in another language and laughing as if thrg were tslking about me, and one was eating in the food prep area, kid running in and out of the shop, then climbing on food prep surfaces. Shocking. Never again. Food was horrible too.

Ordered these online which went well only to be told it would be an hour before delivery. In fairness we live in Lymm? Fish were soaking in grease could have drained for longer would have helped chips too many and under cooked mushy pea,s a bit hard. It seems to me they get busy then rush the cooking.

Yet again.... The peas are like bullets! I've told staff on a number of occasions in a very pleasant manner - they didn't seem to be bothered at all? Also upon enquiring if the chicken was halal I was informed quite brusquely 'Of course it is!'

My daughter is a fan of the kingsway so I ordered from there last night. All the food was fresh and tasty and the fish bites are excellent value for money for a smaller appetite. But the best item had to be the onion rings!!! No frozen out of the bag onion rings but good sized rings of onion in batter cooked to perfection.

went for fish n chips fish was awful soggy grey mess chips hard n full of grease repeated on me al night the staff were filthy never seen any of them wash there hands while handling food at the back inc raw burgers no thanks wont be back

We ordered our food late, from just eat and collected around 10 minutes after ordering. We had great service, and the staff were very friendly and warming. We ordered x2cod, portion of chips and x2 peas and it was just dreadful, the fish was vile, heavy and dripping with oil, the chips were undercooked, the peas were rock hard. If it wasn't for such a late hour we would of taken our meal back.

Awful don't bother last went there a couple of years ago it was ok then must have changed hands never stopped farting all night

thought we would give it one more chance how wrong can you be, food was cold, fish had a strange smell mushy peas were mushy water. also the order was wrong. it seems they just don't care.

Both me and my partner had fish. The fish was extremely bland and has made us feel sick. Wouldn't recommend! 😷

I have been using this chip shop since it first opened.

Kebab portion sizes have gone tiny and they constantly fry in old, stale oil. Shame as it used to be a decent chip shop.

We ordered fish bites and chips and garlic bread. The fish bites are usually good value but this time one was ok and the others was mostly just batter. The garlic bread was ok. We have had fish meals from them before and they have been ok. They serve kebabs and pizzas ss well as usual chip shop food. They are usually good at completing phone orders.

Terrible burnt gravy with aftertaste and soggy fish. Used to be nice but has gone down hill over last few months. Will no longer be using it

Please don't bother it tastes like the fish has gone off and the chips have been fried in the same oil for a year . Rude ignorant staff that look like a good bath would kill them

Called in at 9.40 tonight on my way from the rugby and wanted to cheer myself up with a kebab I asked the girl could I order a couple of Donner meat kebabs only to be told they only had a small amount left and probably not enough to fill it so left disappointed was told they didn't close till 10.30 if you don't have the food to stay open close early then !!!
