Put a review on here - family tea out, nice eating area, easy to order via app, drinks served quickly with a pleasant greeting, food arrived soon after. Thought a mistake had been made on the order which they took away to sort but realised it was our mistake but they very kindly sorted it for us. Very helpful staff, will definitely come again. Only thing i would add is can you please add garlic mayo/dip as a sauce choce with your meals as not everyone likes spice other than that 10/10.

Great time, great service. Would highly recommend to friends and family. Will be back again for sure. Food arrived quickly and was very tasty.

Family members staying in the accommodation. The rooms were clean & comfortable. Plenty of teas/coffees in the rooms. Evening meals, over a couple of nights we all amazing, came out hot, beautifully cooked and promptly, can't ask for any more than that. Excellent value for money. Staff on the bar, greeting area and hotel reception were all so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for making the visit memorable, looking forward to coming back very soon.

Stayed for business trip, food was as expected good value nothing special. The hotel, pleasant greeting from lady on desk then it started down hill. Corridors stunk of cannabis, staff were aware due to the use of air fresheners regularly to hide the smell. Mattress was all springs and lumpy, hardly slept. Bathroom had mould on the ceiling, light pull cord and shower curtain rail. Having family who work for Green King I expected more, disappointing

Sat down, ordered on the app, drink arrived almost immediately and my meal not long after. I got the steak pie, chips and peas. All was perfect and a good portion size. Leah stood out as really friendly and I noticed she cleaned tables straight away. Thanks for a great visit.

Came for the breakfast with Santa experience. Food was nice and staff very friendly and polite. The experience was disappointing compared to previous years. Santa just sat in his corner, didn't really interact with the kids much. Breakfast was served to individual tables, not much of a party atmosphere. Previous years there was a full party table for the kids to eat together, santa sat with them then they got to go see him and interact. Needs a bit more effort next time.

Came 10th November 2024 just past 12 left at 12.33! We are regular in here and come for food every month this was the first time we have ordered a Sunday dinner with your self's. The good was stone cold and just ridiculous partner ordered a combo meat and only got 1 meat beef that was fatty! Partner didnt touch food i just ate the yorkshire and meat that where cold but i was trying to be polite. No one came to do a table check so my partner took his plate to the bar complained to the young lad with curly hair who was polite and came back over to our table to say he will ask his manager to do a refund while we stayed seated at table 67 as we looked over at him been assisted doing the refund to which that person was smirking. A worker stood at the table right next to the kitchen I can only assume she was chatting to her boyfriend waiting for her shift to finish she was looking over smiling laughing. Other staff walked past with a look. Then a chef came out on the bar and then back into the kitchen clearly looking to see what type of people we where and who was complaint as he wasn't doing anything nobody came over and apologised for the lack of service the "manager who did refund didn't say out either" lack of manager skills there at its finest other then the guy with blonde curly hair rest of staff where just rude and unprofessional. We come here as a group of 8 for every family members birthday through out the year to so that us all now changing our go to pub! What ashameful atmosphere no professionalism at all! Food chain should check cctv of the staff on that day and the appalling behaviour! Shouldn't even get a 1 star review doesn't deserve one

Terrible hotel. Malfunctioning booking system on Greene inn and hotel.com, booked incorrect dates, charged me but won’t refund. This is a regular issue according to staff. Had to book a single night as was stranded. Got bitten by Bed Bugs! Add insult to injury. Fawlty towers minus humor. Bad food, deflated staff. Fraudulent scammer management.

Absolutely fantastic food this evening. I had the Chicken Sizzler -Chicken very tender, coleslaw was lovely, my husband had the Full Monty Mix Grill all of the meat was very tender. Staff were great even though they were very busy they checked on us a couple of times.

We normally have a breakfast here which is ok, but today we decided to have a Sunday dinner, well it was very poor, beef was fatty and like leather, veg was boiled to death, the mash potatoes was grey in colour and un eatable, Yorkshire pudding was dense and raw at the bottom. It’s probably the worst ever food I’ve paid for. Avoid for the type of meal.

Just want to pass on the biggest thank you to the staff, all of you. You made my daughters birthday an amazing one. With the special request that I made that was no trouble for you even though it wasn't actually on the menu. The food was delicious, as always, service was fantastic as always and the staff were amazing. So helpful and polite. Honestly I can't thank you enough. The turn round in there is breath taking. We arrived at the Kingstown Friday evening, after a gruelling journey up the A1 from Hertfordshire. The Kingstown was chosen as it was a 20 minute drive from where we attending a family Wedding on the Saturday, a bit further up country. Once crossing the Humber Toll Bridge (card only, no cash accepted) we did our best to navigate the sparse signposting in central Hull and emerge through the industrial area that stretches east along the river, eventually connecting with the Hedon Road, on which the Kingstown sits just back from. If you pass Sainsburys, you have just driven past it! We booked in just prior to the person on the front desk finishing for the evening. In our opinion the staff were the best asset for the hotel. Friendly, engaging and helpful. We found this whether talking to management, the breakfast staff or the cleaning staff. Our room was number 35, at the furthest point from the reception area along the front face of the building, so over our time there we became adept at lugging gear through corridors and numerous fire doors. Our room had a double bed with a good mattress, we slept well. The level of lighting in the main area was fine, heating turned off but not essential for us this time of year. The lighting in the bathroom area was not quite so good, the shower was fine for me, but a small person who wished to shower without getting hair wet was in trouble (unless they had brought their own shower cap) as the head was rigidly fixed. The extractor fan did not kick in during our stay. Breakfast I would recommend, we had full English and enjoyed a tasty well cooked one both times. There was also choice of breads, cereals and pastries (the ones we tried were fresh and tasty). The breakfast area seemed to be combined with the bar area, so each had their function at different times of the day. We were late back Saturday night and used the night porter facility without a problem, the staff member was friendly and helpful. Overall, an enjoyable hassle free experience, we would use the Hotel again as a base to explore this part of Yorkshire on a future visit.

Came with family can honestly say whilst the lady serving was very pleasant they seemed completely unorganised and unaware of anything going on outside of the till area in the soft play. Tables were slow being cleared and food or drinks slow arriving. I ordered a main meal it arrived as a side my mistake also as hadn't seen upon paying she had put through as a side although clearly stated main so ended up ordering extra and then our coffee upon arriving finally came luke warm

This isn’t a review that I like to leave having meeting my daughters and grand children today,was really disappointed with the service it started at the bar asked for two dry and one sweet white wine the young lady kept telling me she doesn’t drink wine so she knows nothing about it. We ordered our food which took a long time coming the children’s menu is supposed to include a sweet and drink only one person was offered when our main course arrived they actually forgot one of the adults we had to go and ask were it was actually admitting it had been forgotten after finishing our mains 35 minutes passed our youngest daughter had to go and ask were my two grandchildren sweets were reply was have you finished your mains our reply was yes over 30 minutes ago another 30 minutes passed before it arrived another one off my daughters said I didn’t know the sweet was included in the children’s menu she ended up buying two her self we then ordered 4 coffees and one hot chocolate I honestly thought they had gone to Columbia to get the coffee beans overall service very disappointing I would not leave one star I honestly hope read this

I came to this hotel with my parents in the summer holidays, The reception was ok but it smelled like cooking wine, however the receptionist, (Sarah), was lovely, she was kind, bright, jolly, bubbly and happy, The room was alright, the bathroom ceiling and shower was moldy and we had a faulty toilet, i did love the grass smell to the bathroom though, the main room was nice, a bit outdated but really nice, my sofa bed had a thin foam sheet for the mattress but i had a really nice sleep in it so it was ok, the hungry horse was awful, the starter was ok, the J2O was really nice, but the main meals were awful, i had an eyelash in my burger, so the waitress said sorry and took it away and brought me a fresh one the chips were nice but on my new meal i had a slice of raw onion, the last night we stayed we went back and the chicken strips were nice and okay, but my vegan roast veggie lasagna was black on the edges but it was really nice, the chips were nice too, the breakfast was better but everything on it except for the tomatoes, bacon and toast were greasy, but nice though, i wouldn't recommend the hungry horse but i would recommend the hotel, the hungry horse was a 2/10 experience and the room was a 5/10 experience, over all a 6/10 experience

Came in today the 1st of October 2023 the food was freezing cold steak tasted off a member of staff asked if meals was ok we told them she just said really and walked away

I come here once or twice a month for a breakfast when I'm on evening shifts at work, and honestly I cannot fault the place, admittedly I have not come in when the place is booming, but there's a fair few people in during breakfast and I've never waited more than 10 minutes for my food, I went for the burrito and a potato dog, this time and it was MWA CHEFS KISS! Don't change x

Came in for some tea with my partner and little boy and was welcomed by a lovely smiley girl called Courtney. She was very pleasant and helpful and engaged with our son. Food was lovely also. We visit here regularly at least once a week. The staff are always friendly & helpful. We’ve had various meals which are always lovely but our favourite are the sizzlers. Really great value & always delicious. I would highly recommend 😊

As a family we haven't returned to the hungry horse for a few years because of terrible food and service we had consistently had. Well.. tonight that's changed completely. We visited tonight for my sons 15th birthday meal. Amazing service, absolutely gorgeous food, amazing service great atmosphere, great menu, food was brought out steaming and tasted delicious!! What a turn round. Think we're going to book for Xmas day 😃

Stayed here overnight whilst visiting family in the area. The rooms are looking quite tired in places and I did notice the air freshener smell was not to my taste. However, the room was clean and the bed comfortable. Good night’s sleep. I didn’t eat in the pub but had a drink. The staff were great, especially the lady on reception. Would stay again if in the area and needed a bed for the night.

Food is alright, not brilliant but cheap and cheerful and beats cooking. Chicken was a bit rank though, bit of a weird texture.

Loads of vegan options but we have been on 4 occasions and they never have any items in stock. Blaming the deliveries etc was maybe understandable in covid times but not now. Such a shame. Had to have just chips one time.
