Went to the bar. Not overly busy. Barmaid acknowledged me but served at least four other people who came to the bar after myself. In the end had no option but to serve me as I was the only one waiting. Got the feeling regulars get priority. Her loss as I always tip having worked in hospitality but not on this occasion.

As there are very few pubs within walking distance of this area, I decided to meet a mate for a coffee here. As I arrived early, I went into the bar side of the Kinsman. It is many , many years since it was a pub, so I knew what to expect. Although they were setting up for the lunch menu, a barman came immediately to serve me (even apologized for the wait). He asked what I wanted, and having asked if I could just have a coffee., he replied that was no problem at al. He was asked what type, with or without milk, and even what colour sugar. I now have mobility issues (a walking stick for my rheumatoid arthritis), but without asking, Ryan asked me to find a seat, either inside or out (I chose outside) and he would find me. He brought me my coffee, and reminded me that he would be out to check if I needed anything else later. He and the manageress came out to put up the sun parasols and both were very pleasant. The Americano I had was lovely, and my mate arrived and had a refreshing half pint. Ryan was a great ambassador for the company, not just for his courtesy, but for the good-humoured banter, My purchase was little money-wise, but I was still given great service. I would certainly come again.

What a wonderful paradox a Toby Carvery is! They promote themselves as “The Home of the Roast”, a carnivore’s paradise, and yet their most delicious meals are vegetarian. When we visited with a group of friends last Thursday, we were pleasantly surprised to find a good range of vegetarian and vegan options on the menu, and chose the mushroom and ale pie. It was a real pie, with crusty base and sides as well as top, with large portions of mushroom inside in a succulent ale sauce. Our roast-eating friends could only look on in wide-eyed envy as we tucked into it. The vegetables on the roast counter were also delicious, cauliflower and broccoli just sufficiently al dente but not too hard, and a choice of roasted, mashed and sautéed potatoes, with a delicious vegetarian gravy. We washed down the meal with a very palatable pinot grigio. The prices were very reasonable, and the service was cheerful and efficient. Disabled access was good, with level floors and disabled parking spaces just outside the main entrance. Altogether, well worth a return visit.

Visited here New year's day for a few drinks and food. On arrival asked if we could open a bar account and was refused as we wasn't sitting down to eat straight away...ok...so ordered our drinks 2 pints of Heineken and a double vodka with diet coke...£16, yes a little bit pricey, then sat down outside of the eating area by the window. When 2 more people in our party arrived we then asked for a table for 5, but was told 30 minute wait or eat at the table we were at so we opted for eating where we were sat. We went to the bar to order our food and more drinks.. £64 and was given 5 sets of cutlery. All good so far. Then as we were going up to the carvéry for our food I asked a server if we could have salt & pepper for our table which he went a got me and I put on our table. I then went to get my food and sat down to eat my meal. When seated I put salt and pepper on my food but nothing came out of pepper cellar so I opened it and to my disgust I seen what can only be described as filth as pictured. Food was ok meat was excellent but veg was a bit undercooked. But meal gets a 7 out of 10. We finished our meal and had 1 more drink. 50 minutes after finishing our meal our plates were still on the table with nobody asking if we wanted dessert. We was going to have dessert but we got bored waiting. Even as we left the table still had our plates on it. And if your thinking it was busy on new years day...well it wasn't, as we left there was 6 members of staff chatting away behind the bar with no customers....poor service

Visited this place a few times over past couple of months, food is actually very nice, (apart from pigs in blankets) which are terrible, problems are mainly in the kitchens, they keep running out of the meats they have & the veg dishes are regularly empty, you find yourself waiting for new stuff to come out whilst the food on your plate is going cold, no one appears to be coordinating things, getting all your food on your plate on one visit is a fluke rather than staff organisation. Food nice, staff clueless.

When you go to a carvery often, you kind of already know it's hit and miss when it comes the quality you're going to get. After already being here for breakfast a week earlier (which was most likely the worst we've ever had), we were asked to give their carvery a try. Reluctantly... We agreed. The tables were dirty and sticky, with the general cleanliness being far below what you would expect. The meat was not very well cooked and the potatoes and veg seemed to be similar to cheap prepacked and frozen. Not good at all.It seems a shame that the staff didn't really care too much whether you enjoyed your meal or not. So...you've gotten your food, sat back down and start to eat. The best thing you can hope for in this place is that the food is hot. But as we found out, even that was not possible.Been here twice now so I feel that we did at least give it a second chance... There won't be a third.

Having taken in some of the sights along Liverpools waterfront near Otterspool, which I might add is fantastic on a sunny day with the family. We had worked up quite a hunger and had a plethora of choices of where to eat! But when nothing else will do but a good roast dinner our minds where set, plus with the benefit of a discount using the mobile app for Toby Carvery under offers it was going to taste just that bit better. This place is great, it's got good ample parking and accessability for all needs with wide open doors and predominantly all on one level once inside, plenty of space inside. We had been offered a seat quickly and attentively to a booth thatoverlooked the Carvery area, talk about putting temptation in your way. But that's exactly what we'd come for!Seemingly we had arrived at a good time as it was beginning to fill up steadily throughout our time there. The carvery area had plenty of choice for veg and trimmings, the meat looked and tasted succulent topped off with some good hearty meat gravy. If there was ever going to be a last meal then I'd have to say this would have been it. There's nothing like a roast dinner. Well I say that but you couldn't beat a mothers home cooked roast dinner. I didn't feel rushed, the staff had been attentive throughout and from looking around, including the facilities everywhere was clean and very presentable. One point of note the booth was just about managable for 6 off us given that two where children but another more space is definitely better for comfort.Despite that when it came to paying the bill I was initially having difficulty with my phone app (network reception) but the lady was most obliging in assisting me to resolve the issue and utilising the appropriate discount. All in all a very welcome and pleasant change to the experience I'd had at the Toby in Ormskirk last month so despite my reservations was not put off and prepared to give them another opportunity. And glad I did. Would I go back, yes.

We have visited this carvery before and enquired whether it would be ok to take home the food we don't manage to eat in a tub, since there is always a lot left, and we don't think food should be left to go to waste. We were told it was ok, so next time we came we had lots, and since we had been shopping we had a couple of storage tubs with us, so decided 'waste not, want not' and thought we would take what was left home. Then one of the staff came over to our table and very sternly told us (in front of everyone in that part of the restaurant) that we couldn't take the food with us or she would charge us for it, then she came back and shoved a fork at us to eat it.It was pretty embarrassing, and I am of a nervous disposition, so we left.So in the end a load of food was left there, and it felt like such a waste. It doesn't seem right or make sense, that once you have paid for your meal you can have as many helpings as you like, but cant take any of it home if you cant finish it.Doesn't seem right when there are people starving in the world, and the carvery are being so petty over something so simple. Most restaurants let you take some home if you wish. The food wasn't exactly fantastic either - fatty gammon, veg was not hot, chef was tight with the meat portions as well to be honest.I make better food at home, and we all enjoy it.We don't get treated like this in other restaurants, so will avoid this place from now on, and so will everyone I know.

this is what it is, its a family friendly carvery. the food is pretty cheap and cheerful but pretty tasty for all that. here a couple of times in march as was a regular hang out in my younger days way back when it was just a pub. here with a mate who'd emigrated and was back in town for a visit.though there is an alternative menu, it looked like virtually everyone was going for the carvery, and for the price I couldn't blame them. the standard carvery can be a slice of all the meats, turkey, beef, pork and gammon and all the veg you can carry for 5.99. for an additional £1.50 you get extra sausage and Yorkshire and a bigger plate. there's also a pretty good pud menu, I went for the chocolate sundae, very nice.it may not be gourmet but its good honest pub grub, and who doesn't like a nice roast. a nice and relatively inexpensive meal when you don't fancy cooking yourself, and you'll certainly not come away hungry. go on, dip your bread.

The restaurant is part of a large chain, this one is in the south end of the city, around 2 miles from Speke airport. The portion sizes are very generous, if you don't think so, then you might want to look at your waistband :-).The main problem I had was that the food just had too much salt, everything seemed to be seasoned with salt and it made the food almost inevitable for me. It's a shame and these days when people are trying to reduce their intake of salt that they continue to put so much added salt into the food. Come on sort it out

Others went to get carvery only to be greeted by rudest carver I have ever met. Shocking amount and quality of meat and ran out of gravy. Desserts also arrived at different times with 14 mins between serving different people. Made a hash of the bill too, overcharged and then kept change without being given, had to see duty manager to get change back. The food at the carvery was like the remains from another night. Some was dried up, and there was nearly a fight over the remaining roast potatoes, which were really not worth fighting for.Having taken our sad looking offerings to the table and thinking of making the best of it, there was no best of it, it was barely luke warm.... But wait. here is the waitress., and she is really customer savvy.....she offers to take away our plates and PUT THEM IN THE MICROWAVE..nice ? I don't think so. If we had wanted a microwave meal we could have stayed at home. So we gracefully rejected her very kind offer. Toby Carvery have very little reputation to live up to, but considering this is adjacent to the Travelodge you would expect better customer service than this. Visitors to Liverpool will think we have extremely low standards. Shake yourselves up and show visitors a good time.

The Kingsman is a carvery. When we went there, on a Friday evening, were special offers galore. There were ten of us and we were given a table in a room off the main restaurant. Our hostess gave us advice how to best utilise these special offers; which included extra large portions. There was a choice of four meats Beef, Turkey, Pork and Ham. The Yorkshire puddings were unbelievably large; the veg included leeks, cabbage as well as the old regulars. The place was very busy and there was a long delay for puddings. All I can recall is sharing and Eton Mess with my wife (it was too much for one normal person). Our Brazilian friend said that this was his second best meal in this country (after two weeks).

It would never be my first choice of place to have a drink, mainly because they don’t have much variety in way of cask ales, they are chartering for run of the mill larger drinkers. It was appalling! Unruly children, somersaulting on furniture, their parents either encouraging or ignoring them. I was trying to quietly have a drink and read a newspaper and I was subjected to three ‘RugRats’ playing around my feet. Their parents, oblivious to their behaviour, sitting in an adjacent section of the bar. While it would be assumed I’m an ‘old grump’ I do recognize that such carvery style facilities relay on family custom, but they must take into account other clientele. The staff didn’t seem too interested in customer service, although giving it a second go the following day there were two staff members who did raise the standard somewhat. The rest, forget it!!! I still had the unruly kids the second day although not inn the same numbers.I remember the pub from the 80's such a pity its Disintegrated to such levels. NEW MANAGEMENT PLEASE!!!

At the time of our visit to this establishment we were greeted by dirty tables, uncontrolled children running about the place, a television which was pumping out noise ( the area surrounding the TV was empty as it was so loud ) and staff who appeared totally disinterested in service or any other thing relating to their duties. The table area was so dirty that we asked if we could have our drinks in the dining area. The staff said no as they would have to remove the place setting and then replace them when we had finished. Lazy is perhaps a more kind description as they were not exactly over worked. They were clearly not interested so we left, leaving our drinks unpaid and untouched on the bar.

We have just returned from a break in Liverpool and had two evenng meals and two breakfasts at the Kngsman during our stay. All four meals were enjoyable, well cooked food and great selections on both evening carvery and breakfast buffet. The menu caters for veggies too which is really useful. Friendly and helpful staff too. Already looking forward to another visit!

The pub is a typical carvery type establishments. However, it differs in that the it is well below average for cleanlinesses. The tables are sticky and the floor is dirty. Only use this establishment if you are desperate and wash your hand when you leave

Pub and bar hopping around this part of the city on a rather cold November night my twin brother and I decided to drop by The Fall Well Pub,been here before on many occasions, always had a good time and so it proved on our latest visit to here. A big Wetherspoon pub, interior is superb, a long serving bar dominates the main room, typical Wetherspoon decor and furnishings, photo's of old Liverpool adorning the walls and there's plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub both inside and outside looking out onto the busy and bustling shopping streets around this pub, its just a really good Wetherspoon pub to chill out in. We had a study of their real ale's, in the end we both opted to have Coach House Brewery " tnt cracker barrel " this dark real ale was served in pristine condition, we luckily managed to get a table were we chilled out and warmed up while we sipped our ale's. My ale was really good, dark, malty, full of flavours, a proper winter ale indeed, its hardly surprising to me why this Wetherspoon pub is so popular with real ale's of this quality. We really enjoyed our ale's in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to The Fall Well Pub we had a great pub experience. The Fall Well Pub is easy to locate along St John's Way. Opening hours are; Monday to Thursday, 8am till 11.30pm. Friday & Saturday, 8am till midnight. Sunday, 8am till 11.30pm. Well worth checking out if you're in the area.

Reminiscent of Littlewoods caf circa 1973. Enough said. Bagel inedible. Tea not made with boiling water. Dreary staff and surroundings. Come on John Lewis. You are taking the mick.

Claims to be 24 hours, went to go do my quiet weekly shop at 4am and it's closed, (second time in 3 months) listed as open on google and ASDAs website.... I know its for a stock count, but nothing was posted on the shop front.. even a week before I wasn't warned by the staff member who knows I come in that time every week, who i have other complaints about (not giving me bags till after I pay i say how many bags i've used, A. slowing my shopping down, B. making me have to guess how many bags I'm going to use {most of which end up splitting because of the weight}) not to mention how lazy the security can be at times, as I've been threatened to be stabbed by 'the down and outs' when i refuse to give em a quid , reported it and security has said 'not our problem'
