ASDA in Liverpool

Just an Asda. But bigger. Lots bigger. One minor complaint is the need for a coin to get the bigger trolleys. I don't carry hard cash.

I do part of my weekly shop here, the staff are helpful and friendly.

I went to get formula 1 milk for my baby and when I saw that I got the wrong one I immediately went back to change it and they told me it's not possible no and as soon as I said I was going to throw it in the trash the staff and security laughed at me and I took the milk and threw it in the trash 58£ I will never go there again for shopping the staff is not even good they are rude the staff is rubbish

Poor service in self service area

We visited the smithdown road store this morning and headed to the checkout as usual...only to be informed than no one was allowed to operate the tills until 9.15am (it was 9.05). I asked if a member of staff (there were several) could pop onto a till but was informed they were not allowed to do so. Further, the managers responsible for this directive were not available. We left all our shopping and went to Aldi instead. I know many people with cognitive impairment who will not use self-service checkouts and are too embarrased to ask for help so I always make a point of using the manned checkouts (which are reducing all the time!). Every other supermarket, where I have asked for personal service at a checkout, have promptly put someone onto the tills. This store clearly does not care about good service...disgraceful...I wont be coming back!

I’ve always believed that as a customer, I should be treated with respect, but my recent experience at Asda Sefton Park Superstore was extremely disappointing. I had an item without a barcode and asked an employee to check the price and scan it for me. Instead of helping, she placed the item on the scanner and didn’t seem interested in resolving the issue. When I pointed out that it still wasn’t scanning, she became angry and started speaking to me in a rude manner. I tried to escalate the situation by speaking to the shift team leader, but to my surprise, she dismissed my concerns without listening and told me I would be checked by security. When I approached security to explain the situation, they said they would check if necessary. However, before anything could even be clarified, another employee approached and insisted that security stop me. I left feeling confused and embarrassed. I don’t understand why this happened. If employees are having a bad day or facing issues, that shouldn’t affect how customers are treated. As someone who regularly shops at Asda, I expected better. I hope management addresses these issues to ensure that no other customer has to go through such an unpleasant experience.

Well stocked but tills are crazy busy and it can be hit and miss for some produce. Generally good though

Ordered for delivery from this store today for between 5pm and 6pm and it never came. We were even sat looking out the window for almost the full hour just waiting as we didn’t want to risk missing it, even though they do usually ring you when they have arrived (or so we thought). Anyway it gets to 6pm and we haven’t had a single phone call or anything so we just assume the driver is delayed. We double check the number we used on the app is correct and it is but still no phone call to say the driver is here. We then decide to ring Asda customer support at around 6:15 to tell them that we haven’t had our order for Michelle to tell us that the driver couldn’t deliver our order and when we said so basically he couldn’t be bothered to deliver it she just said yes. Just explains it all doesn’t it. Michelle then contacts the store and explains what has happened and then gets back to us to tell us the driver has stated that they rang us more than once. Which is a complete lie! Michelle then goes on to tell us we can’t even get a redelivery for the next day! Not to mention we don’t get a refund until 3 to 5 WORKING DAYS. So now we are stuck with barely any food in and barely any money left for this week as we are both students. Absolutely appalling from Asda and we are both still in shock. By the way just hope that ‘Billy’ isn’t delivering your food as he couldn’t be bothered to deliver ours.

Really low quality of products! I ordered from the online shop and it was the most terrible experience! Most products were rotten and many products were missing! I tried contacting the store and ask for a refund which was rejected.

I have shopped at this asda many times as it has most of the stuth I need and the asda rewards app has plenty of offers and vouchers so I recommend this asda

I am regular customer of Asda.I had a very bad shocking experience on 28.11.24 early morning 04.15 Am from the night lady security staff she was arrogant,disrespectful and she doesn't know how to talk and behave to a customer. No more shopping with Asda.

Most of the staff are robotic like, rude dint have a clue and certainly don't have any customer service skills whatsoever! I use to work there and how things have changed so much. All students who work there now and don't even know where things are !?

Claims to be 24 hours, went to go do my quiet weekly shop at 4am and it's closed, (second time in 3 months) listed as open on google and ASDAs website.... I know its for a stock count, but nothing was posted on the shop front.. even a week before I wasn't warned by the staff member who knows I come in that time every week, who i have other complaints about (not giving me bags till after I pay i say how many bags i've used, A. slowing my shopping down, B. making me have to guess how many bags I'm going to use {most of which end up splitting because of the weight}) not to mention how lazy the security can be at times, as I've been threatened to be stabbed by 'the down and outs' when i refuse to give em a quid , reported it and security has said 'not our problem'

I love being able to get everything from the 1 store. Asda online is still a bit tricky. Often it says an item is in stock when it isn't. It would be better if we can suggest what item we would want as a substitute. Like a 2nd choice option. The current substitute system doesn't work as well as it could. Also there are items in the store that you can't buy online. A mop bucket and mop for example. You can only buy the speed mop. Great if you're just cleaning the floor but if you want to mop up a spill then you need the traditional mop.

Shopped here today and was looking for a Children in Need top for my grandson. Looked upstairs (in the clothing section) and there was hardly anything available so settled on an item that was a size too big. Went through the check out only to find a better selection AFTER the tills. Ended up swapping the top for a smaller size at customer services. Bear in mind that there is a one way system in operation in this store so I couldn't get to this section until after my shop was completed. I mentioned to the young man who served me that it was ridiculous not to have these items available within the main body of the store to which he relied ITS A PROMOTION! Well Asda , whether or not IT'S A PROMOTION you are probably missing out on sales (nobody wants to queue twice) and it's very annoying!

Staff can be a bit off at times and act like they don’t wanna help you even though that’s what they are there for especially at self service checkout. I used the app to scan as you go but the lady at the checkouts couldn’t be bothered to do it and got another store member to do it instead. The click and collect staff provide excellent customer service and are always helpful and friendly. The online shoppers push through with their pallets of boxes to get past you or just stop in the middle of the aisles so you can’t get past. Other then that the store is always clean, tidy and well stocked. The clothing section upstairs is large and cafe is cheap. Second time Iv been in to buy cards and haven’t had access due to all the cages blocking them on a busy Saturday morning too..

It's a big supermarket with lots of stock. I get lost! Decent quality and reasonably good prices, plus lots of car parking spaces. Cafe on site and pharmacy in the complex. Also has a petrol station. But I've removed a star because of the security barrier at the entrance. You can no longer get a paper with your groceries, so now it's a queue at the checkout and then another queue at the kiosk.

Bad service cant be bothered and most menu wasnt available other staff came in and the served with a smile. This was the worst Asda ever I ve ever been. Some places don deserve young staff need mature tidy staff for businesses. We came all the way drom Wales never had a bad experience like that before. Asda manager sort your staff please.

An employee with pink short hair was jumping around barriers and clearly asking for attention. That was a bit weird …. She was screaming and running around. She looked like a manager but I’m not sure, as she had loads of keys on herself. I’d suggest checking the CCTV of the front gate 28/10/24 around 21:30. Because that was really weird.

I visited Asda pharmacy Sefton Park yesterday morning and there were no other customers at the counter. I waited at the counter to be seen for awhile and I could see that the colleagues were chatting away in the back. They knew I was waiting but still didn’t seem to acknowledge, that I was there. So I called out and said excuse me and of the colleagues called Jean saw me gave me a nasty look and promptly turned back and carried on talking about whatever they had been doing the previous night with her colleague. I carried on waiting at the counter to be seen , until another lady came and got me my medication. I found jeans behaviour very insulting if she was busy she could have directed me to another another colleague instead of turning her back or giving me a nasty look.

Had bad experience with just eat as they delivered to wrong address, but understand that it was not ASDA s fault 👍

Love Aldi. So much cheaper than other supermarkets and food is delicious. But this one seems a little hectic. Recently been done up but sometimes can't get what you want as shelves not stocked which is disappointing.

Not one till open, both staff working on self checkout were rude as anything and acted like everyone was an inconvenience when that’s what they get paid to do, genuinely looked like they were being forced to work there.

I come here for the petrol as a back up if I don't go to Costco where it is cheaper.

A pretty large Asda store with long opening hours. Stock varies but its usually well stocked. Can be a bit busy at times. Very handy access from the Liverpool city area. Security can seem a little bit much at times, but it's understandable.

Stupid one-way system on doors means if you want to visit the kiosk, you have to walk all the way around and through the basket shop self-serve. Tried to get “all day” brunch but was told they stopped doing it (I ordered at 1pm). It isn’t all day then is it?

To access the pharmacy or opticians, they've now blocked off the walkway, so you have to enter the store itself and go through checkout. Even if you're just picking up an urgent prescription. Whatever the intent behind this change, it's made things unnecessarily more difficult.

It's in a good location but they don't have everything compare to stores like the one in hunts cross

Came at 3am Wednesday night believing what it shows that this Asda opens 24 hours from Tuesday to Friday. But disappointingly it was closed

Everything at this particular ASDA is a mess and no one seems to care. While I was at self checkout counter I found that there a fly inside a the bread as there was a slight hole in the packing. I tried to show it to the team member there but she said her shift is over and walked away.

Love this Super Store, nice little Cafe upstairs, escalator or lift to go upstairs. Sells everything you need. Big car park & disabled parking spaces available.

I used to like this store. But lately it was getting worse and I am not coming here that often as I used to. Constant problem with toilets, zomiedout staff and now they put some balards: one way in and another way out.

Only went there to get diesel at 142p great price did my grocery shopping too...got lots of good deals

You would think I was wearing a prison uniform and not my work clothes which included a hi Viz top and pants because the security guard followed me around the place like he was my personal shopper or something?

Store manager was very unhelpful in regards to my click and collect order. Substitute everything. Wouldn’t even come out to speak to me, kept sending her staff back and forth. ASDA is too expensive now too… also the entry and exit at this store is a stupid one way system. Also the two gents I did speak to seemed very uninterested in helping, despite their jackets saying “happy to help” The one star is for the nice lady on the customer service.

A store that doesn't mind robbing you. Ordered £200+ of groceries and over £80 worth of it is missing. How are the staff that poorly trained and managed that they can fleece customers this much. Word of warning, do not order food online from here unless you've literally no other choice. I will be processing a charge back if this is not quickly resolved.

The lad in the cafe john was so polite and helpful had to write a review went out his way to make sure i enjoyed my breakfast deserves to be a manager

Good selection but those self service tills are a Nightmare!! They shouldn't have never replaced majority of the tills with extra self service. Queue is horrendous,faster when old tills were in place.

Just ordered breakfast from asda cafe never again came in two white boxes no bag or sealed. The driver might as well of hand fed me. I'm utterly grossed out threw it in the bin

I went to Asda today and used the toilets and the smell coming from them was knocking me sick. There was used tissue on the floor, water all over and just very unclean toilets. Surely they can supply a air freshener to help with the smell it was a mixture between urine,number 2 and sick.

people are forced to the self checkouts even with full trolleys, and they completely refuse to open a till.shame on you asda

I went today into ASDA. Its was my first time to exchange something sp I went into checkout. Their was a very rude staff showing me very bad attitude. I told him to exchange he said you where to exchange I said your the staff you should guide how I should know. He wear glasses and long hair. I just reply your such stupit, the manager must pay attention to staff. Its been 3 year in UK its first time K saw a bad behaving staff. Most people also said asda’s staff are not having a good manner thats why they prafare ALDI and Lidl.

Very friendly staff! Two storeys, George is upstairs and fairly roomy. Plenty of time to browse. Should be ok to take the kids and get stuff as well. Toilets are clean but the mens does pong a little. Not a good thing for a food shop.

Came to the pharmacy and the advice I was given was wrong, following from my GP consultation a few days after. Shame on them as what I was in need if was emergency treatment.

I bought some smoothies from here I didn't realise until I got home that one was already opens and looks like someone already drank it. Gross. I binned it immediately obviously

Open 24 hours. Very well stocked. They have a cafe too. Upstairs is the clothes and household section. Toilets available and always clean. They have a pharmacy and opticians as well. Right at the entrance there's a Timpson cabin. Very handy for replacing watch batteries, show repairs and dry cleaning.

There are only self service checkouts. The staff on duty were quite determined to make everyone do exactly as they wanted. It wasn't a good experience. I don't like being huffed at when a bar code won't scan.

I’m sick of going in there and stuff is priced wrong , I wanted too buy a shirt in there when I got too the counter the girl on the check out quickly said too me the price is wrong and whipped the shirt away from me and took it away , never thought too ask if I still want it anyway I ended up leaving it . But this wasn’t the first time this sort of thing has happened in there . And the staff are miserable

It’s open 24/7 so if you want cheap booze late at night this is the best place 😂❤️

War-torn Ukraine is a more hospitable environment than this place. In all my years I've never seen a more miserable and rude set of staff. If they acted like that anywhere else, they'd be long fired. Ask for a bag at your own peril, the self-service staff will look at you like you've asked for a kidney.

Lighting around the outside of the store and car park area is none existent, dangerous for pedestrians and road users particularly in the rain as no road markings were visible due to the reflection of headlights visited 16/03/24 then went inside to find all fridges had no lights on either 8pm approx time of visit

Ordered groceries online. Delivery came via uber and nearly half of the order was missing. Told the driver who just drove off. Hopefully I will be refunded. Never had this experience with Asda drivers. I don't think that I will order online again.

UPSTAIRS IS CLOSED AT NIGHT - NO GEORGE AFTER 9pm, this needs flagging in the opening hours ASAP. I only wanted one specific item but the guard told me no because of elf n safety 🙄 and to go to Tesco at 11pm at night. It’s obviously blocked off due to shoplifting and drunks. Someone could have just retrieved an item, the store was practically empty. Got what I wanted from Hunts Cross in the end. I only went so late because it’s a complete nightmare of a store in the day, the customers are wild with no spatial awareness and the staff doing online orders with those black trollies block everywhere. Avoiding in future, too stressful and grim.

Well laid out store and always well stocked. Cafe and George are on the 1st floor, the store also has a good sized car park with 24hr cashless petrol station. Night staff on the self serve till are very rude so go in the daytime when possible.

It takes time to learn the inside map of an Asda supermarket. I visited on Sunday, near closing time and it was so crowded. Long cues on the checkout. I always use scan and go mobile phone app. So it was easy to pay and get out easily. One thing I miss in Liverpool asda is Asian food section which is very common in some of the other cities where there are lots of Asian customers.

Honestly this is so disappointing! The staff are is useless!! The manager needs to work on this because this is very disappointing since many have said something about the staff and nothing changed. I bought a chilled item and after it a read the ingredients and it had something that i do not eat, i went back to return it 10 minutes after i bought it and the useless worker said to me “come back tomorrow” because it was 11pm. However, i went back the day after and the other staff told me i cannot return a chilled item after 20 minutes. The first worker could have told me that i cannot return it the day after. I will definitely not go back there again. 👎👎👎👎👎

Where do you even start with this Asda? The biggest problem they have, apart from the extortionate prices right now, is the staff. Granted, there’s one or two that are helpful, but the rest that I have the misfortune of having to communicate with when trying to pay for shopping are just awful. Namely older ladies that are miserable, obnoxious, who obviously don’t like their job one bit. They come across like proper jobsworths too and unfortunately for me always seem to be on duty when I do my weekly shop. More than once I have been in the self serve part, and trying to get their attention is a joke, they’re too busy gossiping amongst themselves and I was there months ago when someone had obviously walked out with shopping without paying, all under the noses of said jobsworths too. The toilets are absolutely disgusting. I don’t think there’s been a time in the recent past where I haven’t had to brace myself and hold my breath to literally run in to the loo out of desperation and be as quick as I could just because of the disgusting smell from the toilets. There’s regularly no loo paper, pee all over the floor, Asda could provide gas masks, that’s how bad it is. By the way, I just wonder what the policy is now regarding helping people who have a ton of shopping actually pack some of their items along the way? It seems that some help and most don’t, but then it could also be a case of if your face fits I suppose. If it wasn’t for the fact that my son doesn’t like food from elsewhere, I would definitely not shop here again given the choice and this is someone who’s shopped here for years and years. There’s better supermarkets close by with staff who don’t have horrible attitude when it comes to customers.

Used the scan as you go and entered my personal details and got the scanner which was then linked to me. Didn’t realise I had to scan the Asda app at the till AS WELL (unlike other large supermarket) so missed out on £100 of points *eyeroll* even though it knows who I am? Doesn’t make sense. Called customer service and they were useless…
