Rude, arrogant and insulting to the extreme. Very poor service and felt very intimidating. The others in the town are far superior

The atmosphere in this pub is awful, very aggressive!! The Landlord being the worse one with his foul mouth, basically if your not male and not in with "The Local Crowd" your not welcome..Although saying that its an awful looking pub anyway very dirty and dated!!

Lunchtime visit as part of a local promotion. Not the most attractive venue, however, despite sharing the premises with a very late Christmas Party we had no complaints with the service. A wide range of dishes were available to choose from. I went for Garlic Mushrooms, Ostrich and Sticky Toffee Pudding. My wife went for Soup, Steak and Cheesecake. Portions were generous and despite the previous reviewer's comments we found no problems with the way food was cooked. The big test; would we go again if in the area? We would and, as the Christmas Party was from a local firm, they were obviously happy with the Restaurant as well. Worth a try.

Really poor night out, the standard of the food was poor. especially the frozen vegetables which were microwaved to within an inch of their lives. If you are going to eat here I suggest choosing something that has to be cooked fresh, eg steak.

Staying at nearby Caravan Site, so booked table for Saturday evening, and we’re very impressed with our meals - freshly cooked, tasty and very substantial. Owner and all serving staff were very friendly and efficient - even offered a take-away box for the fajita dish (very tasty!) that I couldn’t finish. Plus the cider offer is fab. Really enjoyable evening.

I picked up a takeaway from this little fish and chip shop in Devon and honestly, it was one of the best decisions I’ve made all trip. No frills, no view – just seriously good food done right. The fish was perfectly cooked – light, crispy batter with beautifully fresh, flaky fish inside. It wasn’t greasy at all, just full of flavour and cooked to perfection. You could tell they really know what they’re doing. The chips were just how I like them – thick cut, golden, and crispy on the outside but soft and fluffy in the middle. Everything was still piping hot when I got home, which is always a good sign with takeaway. Even the little things stood out – the portion sizes were generous, the mushy peas were spot on, and the service was really friendly and quick. You can tell they care about quality and keeping their customers happy. If you’re in Devon and want proper, traditional fish and chips that hit the spot, this place is a must. No gimmicks, just amazing food. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in the area. 5 stars – can’t recommend it enough.
