This is one of the few places we have found that is great. I cant think of one time we have been there and not had a warm welcome. If you are looking for a good food with great portions you need to try this place. Even if it is your first time in the staff welcome, can't wait for the place to reopen.

I have eaten here at least a dozen times and have always found the food very nice. This week was no exception when I had the barbecue chicken melt from the 2 meals for £8.49 menu. I have visited here for a full breakfast, a sandwich and chips for lunch and fish and chips for tea. On the weekend there is a great atmosphere in the pub especially if there is a band playing. Throughout the week there are also themed nights. Last year I attended this venue for two parties. The staff are always friendly and accommodating.

We were visiting the area , as it was my fathers birthday we decided to take him out for a meal to the kings head .The meal was excellent , it tasted great , all food came out together , the presentation was beautiful. The staff were brilliant , made us feel very welcome , the landlord made us feel really comfortable coming over to us to chat . The pub was nice and clean .I would recommend the pub to anyone I know who is visiting the area and when we next go we will certainly be going to the pub to eat again.

King's head is a great little pub in Bridgend, its part of a chain but has the feel of an owed establishment The staff are great and very friendly. The meals are tasty with good proportions and nicely presented. It's a great little pub.

First time visiting and we both liked the look of the menu outside, pub was very dark inside. My partner ordered the chicken tikka which was okay, just tasted like a normal microwave meal. I ordered a large cod and chips but either they forgot to bring out the bread, butter, curry sauce and battered sausage or they just gave me a normal. I asked the man behind the bar twice for a large cod and chips and I paid £8.99 so I don’t know if they charged me for it or not. I did pay an extra 50p for spiral fries but they weren’t great. Everything just tasted very plain which was disappointing and wish we had gone somewhere else instead. Service was good and friendly though

Well as you can see from my previous review I wasn't exactly enamoured with the food and entire experience from my first visit here, however I am a strong believer in everyone has an off day so gets a second chance, and after a conversation with Keith the Landlord, whom was more than apologetic, we all decided on a revisit, again on a Friday, and may I say it was a completely different experience, I did have a face to face talk with Keith as i thought it was only fair to introduce myself and allow him the opportunity to fully explain the reasoning behind the poor experience on the previous visit, no excuses were made and Keith was upfront about the issues that they had that day, and also assured me that they have put things in place to ensure that the situation should not arise in the

The food took 45 minutes to arrive at our table, which for a quiet pub during the afternoon is quite poor. Once the food arrived (Mixed Grill) the variety of temperatures for each individual item was shocking. Cold sausage, warm gammon, piping hot and, cold chips. After waiting 3/4 of an hour for a mixed grill, you would expect piping hot food to be served to your table. The Kings Head is a lovely place to have a drink, but, very much the opposite for 'pub lunch'. Competitors in the area are substantially better at offering the same service overall.

Working just down the road, three of us thought that we would try something different and pop into town for lunch here, having previous visiting when it was O'Neils a few years ago and enjoyed it. Oh how i longed for those halcyon days this lunchtime. Having only an hour for lunch, we tend to check out the menu of somewhere before we visit so as not to waste precious time when we arrive. So within five minutes of entering we had ordered beers found a table and placed our order for food, nothing special and just regular stuff from the menu, 40 minutes later however we were still awaiting our meals, two mixed grills and a burger, and just as we were about to ask what was happening the mixed grills arrived, i use the term grill lightly, as to be honest apart from the steak and the eggs, I could describe the rest of the plate as lukewarm at best, now normally I would complain but we were still missing the burger and time was against us, so I didn't want to raise issue with as time ticking on we needed to leave, when my colleague went to chase his burger he was told that they were waiting on the chips 45minutes after we had placed the order and with two of us with plates of cold chips. Honestly underwhelmed is an understatement, we regularly do a pub lunch Friday, and try new places, but this is one that we will not be revisiting, if they were busy I could see the reason, but after todays experience I can see why they werent,

This is a great place for lunch with a different offer everyday. We had the chicken club sandwich today with a drink included. Sad that I am, I'm fussy about my bacon and asked for it to be crispy if possible and it was. We've eaten here frequently since we moved to the area last summer and have always found the staff pleasant and helpful.

Came here on way back from a holiday and thought we would pop in and have a look at the menu. To my delight they did a Sunday lunch, which myself and my fiancé took advantage of. I had the beef and he had the chicken and beef. Plenty of meat on the plate, half a big Yorkshire pudding, plenty of roasties and mash potato plus garden peas and carrots. Not forgetting the plenty of gravy we got. We enjoyed our lunch shame we didn't have room for desert as they sounded quite nice. Maybe next time we will

Friends and I regularly have Friday night 'supervision' here. The staff are great and recognise their regulars, and always make you feel really welcome. The young lady who seems to run things does an amazingly professional job, and she and the regular staff work damn hard. Food-wise it is of course a 'pub grub' menu, but whatever you order comes out quickly, hot, and very generous for the price. The service is also fantastic - a full bucket of condiments arrives practically straight away, and they always ask if there's anything else you want. There's always a good atmosphere, whether the pub is 'quite' or 'bustling'. Long live the King's carapace!

We came in here as a group of 6 on a night out drinking. As a drinking venue it was fine and the music was goof enough but as the title says, VERY loud. You couldn't have a conversation in there. However, whilst outside getting some fresh air, the doorman had a chat and recommended some other places to go after. We also lost the coat of one of our party and when we couldn't find it we went back the following morning and it had been put back so that was good. A good place to visit as part of a pub crawl I'd say but not for too long.

They do a huge range of food for really good prices. We opted for the plank with 5 tapas style dishes for under a tenner. The food was well presented and piping hot. Each dish was really tasty and the naga chilli wings lived up to the hype. They were really spicy hot. All the dishes were good, they have a good selection of beers on offer. It was a good morning drinking and eating.

We called into this pub for a lunch time meal, the staff were very friendly, we had a drink and chat whilst viewing the menu, it was the usual pub grub, the food came very quickly, the food matched the prices, ie not big portions unless you pay extra for various items. We had cod and chips, fish very nice but chips not very nice, gammon and chips was OK and steak and chips also OK, this meal was OK.

literally on a Friday night this place was heaving, under 50's downstairs under the patio heaters (ugh) but in the freshair still, ground floor also buzzing and over 50's eating in the upstairs restaurant looking down on an amazing crowd, that said the rest of central Bridgnorth quite literally quite empty as we walked around. Well this was a proper restaurant menu, not pub grub but more than gastro pub too..almost a proper restaurant....well with all the noise downstairs quite impossible to be a "proper" restaurant! Three courses scallops, venison and cheese much more than adequate!!!!

This may be OK to visit during the day and take your chance with the local alcoholics but beware of going there in the night with your girlfriend/partner. Seemingly it's ok for her to be molested by drunks at the bar if she gets separated from you. And of course when you confront the pervert you stand the chance of being thrown out.

Eight of us visited here for a mid week birthday meal. We all had a fabulous meal at a reasonable price. A big variety on the menu along with the specials board. Nothing was too much trouble for our waitress, who is working while at college. We were offered extra chips and we were also given cream to go with a birthday cake we had brought ourselves. The lady in the kitchen was fab too, nothing was too much trouble and the food was superb. I will definitely be visiting again.

I came home Thursday evening to find my wife shaking and crying. She had been to Tesco Extra Bridgend and been treated as a thief even though she had paid for everything. She bought a tent which had a security tag on it. The staff member at the self checkout area could not remove the security tag. When my wife went to leave the shop she explained this to the security guard who told her she needed to show him the receipt. This was in one of the shopping bags and she could not find it. All the guard needed to do was reprint the receipt which is easy to do using the club card or just by returning to the checkout and printing them out until the right one is found. It had been about two minutes so easy to find. He didn’t do that. The guard instead loudly interrogated my wife in front of other customers. The duty manager was called and he did nothing. He didn’t stop the guard verbally attacking my wife and didn’t suggest they simply reprint the receipt. Why? My wife left the store and walked to her car. She is a defenceless small woman, and she was by herself and the guard followed her. He refused to let her leave until she had handed over the tent, so stole it as legally it was hers as she had paid for it. He threatened her so she gave him the tent. The guard bullied her. The worst type of bullying. My wife was scared, intimidated, frightened, embarrassed and humiliated as other customers witnessed this and would possibly believe she stole the tent, so is a thief, as the tent was taken off her. What else would they think? Though very shaken my wife returned to the store. She asked that a replacement receipt be printed which another member of staff did. It showed the tent had been paid for so she asked for it back. She told the guard he was wrong to do what he did. He did not apologise, nor did the completely useless duty manager. The guard told her she was banned from the store, because she dared to stand up to his bullying and tell him he was wrong to treat her the way he did. The duty manager still did nothing. That security guard followed a woman, on her own, to her car and threatened her. That can never be the right action, not ever. That guard is a bully. If that is the way Tesco treat their customers then I won’t be returning there. I used to work for Tesco and out of loyalty we still shop there 40 years later. I won’t shop there again. I did go to the shop and made a formal complaint but have heard nothing. Neither the duty manager or guard were there. My wife complained on line but so far has heard nothing. The behaviour of the security guard was threatening so I have reported this to the police as threatening somebody is a crime.

Fair play, took our Nephew for his 18th, good choice on menu (nan breads a bit small tho😔) however, the food was excellent, good value for money and the service was quick. A bit quiet for any atmosphere, but what a clean and tidy pub, much much nicer than many many others I could care to mention. I can definitely recommend the Lodge to try, we'll definitely be back, lunchtime or evening, the menu has plenty of choice 👍
