What a lovely local pub. Owners are so kind and locals are so friendly. Clean and welcoming. Food was yummy too, I had the fish and chips and it was so fresh. I would give more stars if I could and totally recommend anyone to stop by here. My car had broken down just outside and I had to wait 5 hours so I sat in the pub. I was a young girl on my own and as soon as I spoke to them and told them my predicament they were so nice and I felt so safe and looked after. They really went above and beyond. Such lovely helpful people and I will forever be grateful.

Great country local. Was a regular "watering hole" when I worked in the area. Great staff, beautifully kept real ale and a fantastic ambience. Everything the village pub should be. I miss it greatly!

A really lovely olde worlde public house in a truly traditional English/Kentish village. Stopped there for a lunchtime drink/sandwich. The lady that served us was very welcoming, polite and helpful. My husband placed his drink order and I asked if they had a sweetish cider. As she wasn't sure if I'd like the cider they had to offer, she kindly asked us to take a seat and said she'd bring me 'a taster' before committing myself to a drink I may potentially not like. How nice was that!? Her suggestion was delicious. Sadly, upon requesting a sandwich menu, we were informed that they don't provide food hence the 4* rating. However, please don't see that as a negative! It really is a lovely pub, in a lovely village...... Just grab a bite before you go 😜

Don't be fooled by the street view photo, which is not the pub. Everything you could want from a country pub, log fires, oak beams, friendly. And superb fish on Fridays, the landlord picks it up from the boat.

Update: Wow the beer here is so good...fresh as a daisy from nearby brewery. Beware of the sublime Gold Star!! Nice to also see the Mild and Dark (my personal fave) on tap. Fabulous timewarp bar. Great service and place to gather thoughts. *** I remember when Goachers first started. A proper traditional brewery out of the ashes of hop country. Beer is still lovely. Traditional pub time warp. Happy memories of simpler times. When in Kent I go out of my way to visit and am never disappointed.

Our group stopped for a quick late dinner while on the trip, with low expectations as Indian restaurants tends to be a hit or miss. It was not too far from M20 and had a council car park near by. Mallu’s didn’t disappoint at all. All dishes we tried tasted authentic Kerala cuisine. The highlight dishes in my opinion were Appam with fish curry and beef. Dishes weren’t overly hot, had hand balanced spice levels. Ambience is really good for families. The staff were caring and polite. Prices were reasonable as well. If they continue maintaining the same standards, I wouldn’t hesitate driving an hour to dine in.
