Being away from home, "Mallus" has always fulfilled my desire for "homely" cuisine. I have visited Mallus several times and this place has only improved through out the time. The staff are so friendly and attentive. Even at the busy hours they serve all the customers so promptly that I have never heard a complaint neither had to raise a concern from my end. Food is undoubtedly delicious, and Beef ullarthiythu is my favorite. My husband is vegetarian and ge has all his favorite options available. My little one loves Masala dosa and she repeats it everytime she visits Mallus😄 The ambience is well defined with Kerala art and culture, well kept, always clean, well lit and temperature well maintained. We always take our family to Mallus when they visit us and would equally recommend any one having a "home call" moment.

Not impressed at all. Came in and was waiting for the menu for around ten minutes till I decided to go to the bar and ask for one even though the restaurant wasn't busy and waiters were joking around. Received it quite quickly after request and drinks followed quickly with no issues. Then I tried to order veg thali and I checked their website before I came and hours when it was served, they said only today they haven't got it and offered meat options where it doesn't make any sense when I am vegetarian with my wife (so the journey is wasted) Didn't bother to help or offer something similar. After finishing drinks and poppadoms I asked for a bill and the waiter gave me a very funny face when he couldn't understand what I wanted, I repeated again and started looking at my wife like what I want (If you can't understand say so and I can repeat but don't act like I am doing something wrong when you probably have language barriers, nothing against that, but it's not how to behave) So the final thought is that I don't believe they did something on purpose, I think they tried to be friendly and professional, but still failed miserably.

We recently visited Mallu’s Restaurant for the Vishu Sadya, and it was an unforgettable experience! The food was incredibly delicious—truly a “Thani Nadan” taste that brought back memories of home. The hospitality was amazing, with friendly and attentive staff who made us feel truly welcome. The ambiance, complemented by nostalgic nadan background songs, created a perfect Kerala vibe. It genuinely felt like we had stepped into a home away from home. Highly recommend this place for a hangout with friends or a cozy meal with family. A must-visit for authentic Kerala cuisine lovers!

I was with my partner last Saturday, decided to give it a go after finding out it was South Indian. I use to go to North London sometimes just to eat at my favourite South Indian restaurants, No more, the food was outstanding!!! Lovely staff, and a nice atmosphere. The bill was very reasonable!!

First of all the place/atmosphere was really nice. But the food was okay, we ordered prawn briyani and all we could taste was ghee. The fish was very small portion and indeed very expensive for a small portion. We unfortunately ordered rice and we had hair in it which was very disappointing! We travelled a lot for this restaurant and was very disappointing.

This was our first visit. It was fantastic. Amazing dosas and everything else was delicious. Will definitely be back Tracey

To be honest, anyone who wants to waste their money should go to this terrible restaurant. Yesterday, we ordered a takeaway and got the Chilli Paneer, which cost £7.45. However, when I opened the container, there were hardly four pieces of paneer, and that was it. Nothing matched the price. Items that we ordered like samosas(3 minuscule- £4.99), coconut chutney(so watery) and cauliflower Manchurian were all JUST MInUSCULE. And it cost me an overall £20 which was a total waste of money. Please avoid going to this restaurant. Please shut the restaurant. Hello, My review is completely honest based on my experience at your restaurant. Your response was filled with sarcasm, and I wonder if you have ever dined at any restaurants in the UK. If you had, you would understand how much they charge for such minuscule portions. Your reply is unfounded, and I suspect that many of your reviews are not from real customers, but rather fabricated by your team. How can you justify charging £7.49 for just six pieces of paneer, which is the price of a main portion? Every time I visit your restaurant, it’s almost empty, and now I understand why! 🤣

Came into Maidstone today to get food, we were planning on going to the brenchly pub, but heard the amazing reviews about this place and decided to try it out!!! It was honestly 10/10. Bit spicy, however everything was amazing !!! Truly lovely Indian.

I phoned initially (as this was our first time there PLUS we had just minutes before been 100% let down by another curry house that implied it was open..but in fact..was not after 1300! However as it turned out "their loss was OUR gain") Phone was answered after just a couple of rings by the waiter we met later at the door who had excellent phone manners is both very polite and professional. On arrival we 3 were met in a very friendly way with service provided being at the right medium (not intrusive but polite and there when needed) Food on arrival was to say they have a very good chef that matched the service. It was EXCELLENT! On getting the bill it was noted it had been very reasonably priced. The vindaloo (both lamb and chicken) was not overly hot..(I do like hot so this could be subjective) also ordered the speciality beef Ijularth which was EXCELLENT. We will definately return..and also recommend highly..FULL STARS from all 3 of us... Keep it going....

Mallus in Maidstone offers a fresh take on Indian cuisine with a focus on Kerala flavours. Even on a Monday, the restaurant had a lively atmosphere with warm décor and ambient music. The service was excellent. The staff were attentive but not intrusive. The menu was different from typical curry houses. We ordered the Pepper Chicken Curry, Kozhi Varutha Curry, and Chicken Tikka Masala. The Pepper Chicken Curry was not very flavourful, but the Chicken Tikka Masala was rich, thick, and easily the stand out dish. The restaurant focused on the small details too. The walls featured beautiful wooden boat sculptures and other artwork that added character to the space. The toilets looked newly refurbished and super modern but were not the best in terms of cleanliness. We would definitely return. The atmosphere was great, the food was well-executed, and the service was friendly. Rating: 4.9 out of 6 Six Poppadoms Please #6PP

Come in on a Wednesday evening so lovely and quiet. After reading a few one star reviews and hoping to see any of this in practice. On entering I found it closes at 21:30. A previous review was insulted by them not being let in after 21:30. Secondly I had seen the CCTV cameras in the resteraunt, responses from the resteraunt claiming they have looked into CCTV when people have raised complaints. We waited less than 15-20 minutes for food and was asked if all was good on one occasion leaving us very satisfied not being disturbed. The waiter was very calm and approachable and during conversation had given some education on the difference of the food they prepare here being different from most other places people order from in UK. The food in itself was beautiful. I ordered food I have not tried before so I would not have anything to compare and to be honest I have not regretted it. We will definitely eat here again. Fantastic environment Amazing food Prices are spot on. We definitely got quality. Clearly you can see that they value and investigate all feedback given to them including online.

The staff is incredibly friendly, checking in to see if everything tastes good, and the food is served quickly. We went there this evening as a couple, and we will definitely be coming back. I recently visited mallus restaurant at maidstone and I’m still thinking about the meal! The food was absolutely delicious — you can tell the chefs really know their craft. I had the beef roast and with kerala paratha and appam lamb chops as a strater it was perfectly cooked, with rich, vibrant flavors that had me savoring every bite was equally impressive, with unique seasoning that brought out the best in each ingredient. Every dish was thoughtfully presented and tasted as good as it looked. What really elevated the experience, however, was the service. The staff was attentive and made sure we felt welcome from the moment we stepped in. They were knowledgeable about the menu, offered great suggestions, and checked in on us regularly without interrupting our meal. You could tell they were passionate about providing great service. If you're looking for a place with not only exceptional food but also stellar service, mallus restaurant is definitely the spot. I can’t wait to go back!

I recently dined at Mallu’s and it was a delightful experience from start to finish. The food was absolutely fantastic — each dish was bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. I had the podhi paratha, which was rich and well-seasoned, with a perfect balance of textures. The garlic naan with kozhi varutha curry was equally impressive, with fresh ingredients that really stood out. The presentation of every dish was elegant, making the experience feel even more special.

Very delicious meal with friends and very reasonably priced. It was very busy so we did wait for a while to be served and for our food to come. Wouldn’t have been an issue if our poppadoms came out before the meal but they were overlooked. Overall though very good experience and would recommend and will be visiting again!

Birthday meal for a mixed white and (north) Indian family - we (7) lapped up a range of intensely wonderful Kerala specials, moreish sides and smooth beverages and desserts. I'm immensely proud for Kerala and south India to be put on the map in Maidstone! Thank you for making our day x

I ordered the kuttanadan fish curry with garlic nann and sides as well and my friends ordered thandoori chicken,adippan aadu with lamb biryani and it exceeded my expectations. The flavors were bold, the presentation was impressive, and the portion size was generous. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, making it perfect for a night out with friends or family.

I and 20 work colleagues were the fortunate diners at Mallus on 9th December. Faultless service and wonderful food, served with enthusiasm and style. Really tremendous food, tender and full of flavour. Wonderful to be able to enjoy a decent Madras with a bottle of London Pride too ! I’ll definitely be returning next time I’m in Maidstone. First class.

Mallus is definitely my favourite restaurant. The South Indian flavours are uniquely aromatic and the food feels light and uplifting. No stodgy heaviness. The staff are friendly and efficient. I honestly won't go to any other Indian now I know it's there.

This Indian restaurant is refreshingly different from many British Indian restaurants and has a great menu, based on food from the Kerala region. I was recommended to visit Mallus by a friend from India, which was a good sign. He recommended the beef curry, which was delicious: beef ularthu, with extra sauce. It's spicy, with tender beef. I also recommend the Kerala Paratha which is unlike any paratha I have tried, light, in crispy layers. Service was attentive and helpful, without feeling rushed. I look forward to returning to try some other dishes!

I recently did a bulk order for a function.. the food with it packing and the quantity was really good.. everyone liked it.. the taste was very good nice soft and moistured beeriyani .. suitable for kids and elders .. really very tasty and a huge hardwork behind it thank you for the chef who took extra efforts to complete order on time .. even I dined in before I also like the atmosphere of restaurant perfect for family, friends and couple .. thank you once again
