I would be delighted if this pub was to move brick by brick to my neck of the woods. The beers and ciders are kept well, the service is efficient and friendly, and the Sunday roasts are great - the latter includes a fantastic nut roast for vegetarians (of which I am one). The prices are reasonable. What’s not to like? My thanks to all within this establishment.

Great local pub with really friendly staff. We only had a drink but the food looked amazing. We sat in the small beer garden which had a lovely atmosphere and the food is cooked in a kitchen at the back of the pub and appeared very efficient.

Chosen by me as a non-obvious stop for Mrs, the boys and the in-laws on a Sunday jaunt to Purbeck. We’ve been here a few times with the boys, who absolutely love the axolotls! Beer garden was full and very hot so we found a lovely space inside and a number of us had the Lobster special. The wings were amazing and the burgers very, very good as well. And we had fabulous service. We love the Kings Arms!

Camping for second year running in L M and been twice to pub, lunch and dinner. So refreshing to find an original British pub with atmosphere- hope they can keep to the ethos, with the pressures on pubs currently, to keep this great tradition going. Friendly, not fussy/fancy just true to old world character. Pub food served at proper pub prices, games n local chat - good effort, thanks👍🏻

The pub is hugely welcoming to family and furry friends alike. It’s a hidden gem with oodles of charm and friendly staff. Perfect for a mid / post walk drink or snack. Minutes from Spyway on the SW Coast Path. We had a lovely meal and drinks before heading home to finish our walk. The Axolotls are a bonus.

Very much a locals pub. Pretty average to poor retail standards, beer served in wrong branded glasses ( after 23 years in the pub industry, I know that’s a sign of a don’t care approach) several dogs chasing around the garden, water dripping onto pub floor from roof leak, some customers who looked as though they might challenge an age check, dingy, dull, damp, basically the kind of pub which is dying out and understandably so in this case.

Just returned from a fabulous Sunday roast at the Kings Arms. Roast pork with crispy crackling, to die for roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, green beans, parsnips, carrots, swede, and gravy, all cooked to perfection! We plan on returning next week with more friends just to be absolutely certain that it is still the best Sunday roast in all of Purbeck :) We were too busy enjoying the food to remember to take a photo!

Very disappointing. My 23 year old daughter is gluten free. Popped into the pub to check there were gluten free meals in advance. I realise it is tricky, but when we went back in the evening, the only options were ham and some chips. My poor daughter was in tears. We were a group of seven that therefore had to find a different solution.

Good pub grub, not too expensive, and no airs or graces, nice range of beers and some interesting ciders. Locals all friendly. Staff on duty were all helpful and attentive even when the pub was busy. Lots of smallish rooms, and a big garden. The football, Liverpool TV Chanel, was on in the room we ate in, the volume wasn’t loud, so it didn’t disturb those weren’t interested but just load enough for those who were. A nice compromise. Other rooms don’t have the TV so you can always try and get a table there. Speaking of getting a table, they don’t take bookings, so it is first come first served.

This is an old pub with lots of small rooms. It’s probably nice to sit inside but we’ve always sat outside. The garden is reasonably large with an outside bar and pizza oven. There is an extensive menu of pub food as well as the pizzas. The food is well cooked and comes fairly swiftly even when the place is busy. The serving staff, in the outside bar, are always friendly and helpful. I’d recommend it.

Nice old village pub with a modern twist. Food was nice and good value. Not sure what has happened here but my visit last week was a shocker! Covid-19 arrangements seemed virtually non existent and way below those of other local pubs."Track and trace" sign in was optional for a start and there was no monitoring of it. Just one member of staff on duty with 3 rooms and the garden open to customers. I opted for the garden. Empty glasses, debris, dirty ashtrays on the only free tables which were eventually cleared but no sign of table cleaning or sanitising, and the barman had the air of wishing he was somewhere else. Didn't see sanitiser available.Really disappointing and I avoided what is my pub of choice when staying in Langton did not get a return visit.I'm in Langton again this week and will not be going to this pub and I certainly wouldn't want to eat here. We stayed in the HPB property within walking distance and ate in the Kings Arms on two occasions during the week. The first time was an evening meal; from the outside we weren't too sure but inside it was very cosy and the snug that is in front of the bar was full of very friendly locals. We had a delicious meal (my wife loves home made lasagne and rated the one here very highly). There was a good selection of beers and ciders. We returned for Sunday lunch and this time sat in one of the front rooms where there are full height tables. The meal was very good - Dorset apple cake and sticky toffee pudding were highly recommended. It is great to find an unspoilt, traditional local pub that serves good food and beer, friendly staff and very friendly locals too. Dog friendly. What's more to say? It certainly isn't posh, chi-chi or somewhere for a special occasion but if you are looking for good grub you could do far worse.

I’d driven past this pub many times over the years en route from Swanage to other villages nearby, and always thought it looked nice from the outside. So on our annual visit this time, we decided we’d definitely pay a visit! It’s a lovely old pub in the hamlet of Langton - midway between Swanage and Worth. On entering, we were surprised by how large the pub is, with lots of interesting rooms leading off, and lots of olde worlde charm.I have to say I much prefer older and unspoilt pubs, and this has the perfect balance. The bar staff were friendly, and we enjoyed our drinks sitting out in the sunny garden. There was a large screen TV out there too (for those who require it), another little bar and a big gazebo. It made for a very relaxing visit, and it was nice to be in more of a locals pub in contrast to some of the other more touristy pubs down the road. The food looks good (we will def give it a try next time), and there’s live music and entertainment some evenings too.All in all, a very charming village pub with a friendly atmosphere that’s well worth a visit - don’t forget the village museum around the corner too!

We stopped here for an evening meal recently and I have to say it wasn't great. The food was tasteless and although it boast they make their own pies , the one I had tasted like a Fray Bentos pie. I ordered potatoes with my pie but was given chips, the veg wasn't cooked properly and the meal was barely warm. The whole place is really quit tatty and it was only the fact we got caught in a rain storm that we decided to eat there. There was a young lady behind the bar that just din't seem interested and had no manners at all. The whole place could actually do with a makeover, and the beer wasn't great either.

This is a quirky old fashioned local with separate rooms and lots of beers on tap. The food menu is extensive including several specials, but the quality is limited. My moussaka was pretty tasteless and only lukewarm served on a cold plate with warm chips. The scampi and chips were ok.

Never had a meal here but a good old fashioned pub with really friendly people. Great for a couple of cheeky beers. Nice beer garden to sit in on a sunny day.

Excellent roadside local pub. Staff are very hospitable. Ervice is very good. I think the menu I'd a bit limited as I don't like burgers and not keen on smoked dishes. But the steaks are great, some of thd best I've had.

DO NOT BOOK! Turned up on 20 February 2020 to find that it had completely closed. We had booked but did not receive any notification by email or phone...

Excellent food and service. Good vibe. My only criticism was why does the waiter have to crouch down next to us to take our order? I’m not under 10! Stand upright while taking an order from an adult please.

I asked if they had a real ale. I was told they had an IPA. It was poured and given to me. It was not a real ale! It was a freezing cold keg beer that I really couldn’t drink and I was charged £5.20. I tried to complain to the obviously under-trained and frankly couldn’t-care-less female bar person but it was like water off a duck’s back. I said I was mis-sold but she didn’t seem to understand. I asked who owned the pub and was told “Stonegate”. I left the pint virtually in-drunk on the bar, hoping I would be able to claim a refund from Stonegate but the pub is not recognised on their website, other than from them looking for a tenant. I am out of pocket, fed up and very annoyed! I would advise anyone who likes a proper ale: DO NOT USE THIS PUB!

Dropped in after a trip to Norden and back. The old carriage is quite spacious, bright and attractive. Lots of outside seating on the platform and the grass bank. They also have a small book stall to raise funds for the railway. Prices are fine and the food and drinks are up to standard, but not as good as the Norden cafe.
